Which would you choose?

Hi there...hope you had a great weekend. Ours was very nice, and pretty relaxing. With Teddy on the mend, and getting stronger every day....I felt like it was life getting back to normal. Dinner with friends, a few antique stores with a buddy, walks with Teddy, a little downtime to myself. I started reading again......was an avid reader until we moved! I missed it so much as there is nothing like the escape we take like when we delve into a fabulous new book. I was productive too and got lots of orders processed, and many are going out this morning. So a good mix of down time with productivity!

I don't know about where  might be but over here it feels like early summer! 80 getting up near 90 in April? Virtually unheard of!!  I can't decide if this is a decadent treat from mother nature or a forewarning of a brutally hot summer to come. If the latter,  I better invest in some really great hats because my hair does not love ultra hot humid weather and does not react kindly:) In any case it got me thinking of outdoor entertaining, as we will all no doubt start spending more and more time outdoors. Today's living includes outdoor spaces that are given equal importance in many cases as to what goes in  the indoors. The choices for outdoor furniture, lighting, rugs and accessories are practically limitless. In other words its never been easier to have a truly fabulous outdoor setting which rivals what you have going on inside!

I cannot wait to start decorating our own loggia and have a very good idea of how I would like it to look. So.......lets just imagine for this weeks  Which would you choose that  you are having a few couples over for drinks before you head out for dinner out on the town. You are going to be blessed with the most insanely perfect weather ever, and they will arrive just when the sun is just starting to set. You light a few candles, get some  smooth jazz going,  put out a few tapas trays of your favorite nibbles  and have your bar ready...now all you need to do is choose your outside patio/loggia setting! Which appeals to you the most? I look forward to seeing what everyone loves....I have my eye on a few, think I have it narrowed down to two. And we are off..........

Wow, hard to pick just one! At the very least I got so many wonderful and inspirational ideas from these fabulous loggias/patios. There is nothing quite like outdoor entertaining, whether its having a complete meal or just getting together for drinks and nibbles.....it is hard to beat the great outdoors and when furnished beautifully.....impossible to top in my opinion. Look forward to hearing which you choose! Wishing you an enchanted day!

  1. Hello Tina,

I am sure it is wonderful to have Teddy on the mend and getting stronger each day. I have to say that I am a little confused, I thought that dogs that attacked other dogs and people were put down, how is your neighbor allowed to continue to have these vicious animals?

Hopefully your day in court will lead to these animals being removed from your neighbor. I have a friend in Florida that a similar thing happened to, when she went to help her dog, the other dog attacked her and her 75 year old mother, one needed 137 stitches and the other 90. The other dog was owned by her neighbor and he refused to hand the dog over to the city...nice neighbor.

It sounds like the perfect weekend, did you find anything interesting at the antique shops? My problem is that I always find something.

I love 2,11,13,14 and 15. But the others are just as fabulous.

I hope you have a wonderful week, I am looking forward to seeing mor of your new items.

    Take care, Elizabeth

  2. Sounds like a nice weekend and I bet with Teddy home, it really felt special just having him there.
I also love outdoor entertaining and this year we enlarged out patio and redid our pool so we will be outdoors a lot too. I love each and every one of these but hands down my favorite is 14, something about it, it looks so relaxing and peaceful and lovely.
    Have a great day.

Tina- also received my dough bowl and linens, the pictures dont do either justice, love them both and can't wait to shop with you again.

  3. So behind on your blog. Was shocked to read about Teddy's ordeal and came immediateyl to this present post to be sure he is OK. Thank God he is. Poor little guy, how horrible! I do hope those dogs are getting put down, in most parts of the country it would have happened already.
I am sure this was so difficult for you and your family Tina.
So glad he is doing well and home resting surrounded no doubt by lots of love.
I love all these outdoor spaces, makes me want to spruce my own up! One of my many projects on hand this summer. Choice 2 is my idea of perfection, I could see spending a lot of time out there. Good to catch up!

  4. ooooooh. choice 2 but choice 11 seriously gives it competition. how bout a combo of those two?

it's warm and humid here and i'm good with that, but the storms at night freak bella luna out so we're losing sleep!

smiles and here's to a wonderful new week.

Sounds like a wonderful idea and you are right - summer does seem to be here but it is a little eerie!!

#2 followed by #13 and #7 would be my choices!! Have a great warm day!

  9. Such beautiful spaces! There are so many that I would happily accept for my home, but if I had to just choose one, it would be 10, simply because I love anything to do with the ocean. Glad to hear that Teddy is doing well and getting back to normal, too!! :O)

  10. Definitely #2 for me! I look forward to seeing what you decide on for your beautiful home. BTW I posted about the linens I won in your giveaway on Saturday but not sure if you saw it, and the nice comments that people left about your store, so just FYI. :) Have a great week Tina!

  11. Good Morning Tina,
Handsdown #2. Love the texture, the fireplace warms a chilly night, and the arched doors are beautiful. Looks like you might be taking a dip in your own pool with the weather we are having!!

  13. Choice 3 please. Looks so relaxing and wonderful space to just hang out in. I could see being there with a cup of tea and a good book.
Happy Teddy is doing so well. I know the house wasn't the same without him!
Received my linens and spanish olive trays and silver vanity tray- was like a kid in a candy shop! Love it all and now am going to see all the "new loot"!

  14. I act like this is such an easy choice! They are ALL beautiful but if I HAD to pick I at least narrowed it down to #2 and #13! they are spectacular! Glad to hear that Teddy is getting better…and yes, it feels like summer already to us as well! These are all great inspirations and I'm looking forward to sprucing up my own! Thanks for posting!

  16. I was torn between 1 and 12, but I love everything Michael Smith designs, so I am going with 12.
Glad to learn that Teddy is getting better:).

  17. Tina, Can i pick all of them?. I have such a crazy day that I would love to be sitting outside today and not leave my house and they all look lovely.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm going with 11 and 17! 11 seems so clean but alive with greenery. 17 reminds me of one of the old convents we visited as a child--which I loved-sorta rustic, refined, old world.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Handsdown....NO. 7....roomy, warm, sophisticated.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh, so hard to choose! I think I'll have to go with #11. Just stunning and I'd rather be there sipping a glass of wine and enjoying the sun, rather than trying to wake up on a gray Monday!

Glad to hear Teddy is on the mend! Such good news. I hope he gets stronger every day.

Thanks for your supportive words today, they mean a lot! Have a lovely week, Tina! XO

  21. I'd pick 7 or 8, becuase I like the seating areas by the fireplaces. Both also have an informal eating area attached so you could set up the Tapas on the table and then retreat to the cozy seating around the fire....I like the furniture and colors of #13 though....good thing a girl always has options! Good luck.

Thanks for the Teddy update, so glad you are able to relax a bit!

  22. I would ultimately pick #11...love the feeling of connection between the house and nature with it's french doors and the beautiful tree and greenery so close by. Need more flowers however. In the afternoon I would be napping on one of the chaise lounges. I love the furniture, charming and comfy,it has a cozy inviting feeling. Although #4's view through the arch is breathtaking, but the furniture is hard and un appealing. I'll take #10 for my getaway beach house and invite all my friends and family for a fun weekend and long evenings sipping wine and laughing, but first I would redecorate, painting the existing furniture in white and re-uphoster with fun beachy colors, stripes and prints, change out the lanterns to for something larger and more dramatic. Oh, and add lots of flowers! That was so fun, thankyou! It's like looking through the Sears wish book when I was a kiddo. Which would you pick?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Tina,
Still thinking about Teddy and would love to see some current pics of him! Think my first choice is #1 but I also love #11--it's so simple and harks back to how things used to be before we all got so fancy!

    ReplyDelete
  24. #6 or #8- actually those two mixed/morphed together would be perfect in my eyes:)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm in love with #2! I love everything about it, especially the fireplace!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oooooh, so hard to choose. I think I will go with number 3........but a VERY close second would be number 11.
So many pretty pretty pictures, gives me lots of ideas for my own patio.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh my, so many great choices, but I am torn between choices 2 and 7. I love them both but am probably most drawn to the openness and columns of #7. Does, this mean I win one of these? Ha! I could only wish for such space for our Garden Home.

    ReplyDelete
  28. #2 as long as there is a pool in the lawn nearby, #5 as long as there is a fireplace on an opposite wall, but then again there is #11...*bubble burst* this is a choice that I will probably never be faced with........=(

    ReplyDelete
  29. Tina, your posts really get my blood pumping! I am so ready for a touch of the tropics! So, I'm going with number 1. Situated in say Corpus Christi, TX or Clearwater, FL or maybe even the island of Roatan, Honduras!!

Have a great day with Mr. Teddy!

  32. 8,9 and 17. I want comfy furniture. I had the Palacek Rattan for years that is used in 3 and 7. It looks great but not particularly comfy to lounge on. All the spaces are gorgeous! Tina you have exquisite taste what ever you choose will be gorgeous!

  33. How wonderful you have found time to read, I agree with your belief it can be restorative, my little escape place. I'm tickled that dear Teddy is continuing to heal, that is a blessing. :)

As far as the primary assignment today, I'll go with Choice #5 from Coastal Living followed closely by Choice #10 from Coastal Chic, both would be divine spots to kick back and relax.

Sending you a smile for the week to come!

  34. I only get to pick one?! I agree with an earlier comment posted, a combination of a couple of the lanai's would be it. I love the soft and elegant style of choice #3 by Joan Behnke.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Since it's only a few couples for pre-dinner drinks, I'll choose #2. If it were a full blown dinner & drinks I'd choose # 1 because the tropics are calling me, and that's where I'd like to relax and stay awhile.

p.s. Does anyone know where I can find the curvy wood side table in #10? Wisteria used to carry them.

  36. 11 all the way! Casual, inviting, shaded with a suggestion of a view of something. LOVE it!

  42. Um..just one?? I choose No 1 & 2 & 13...in that order...we still have some balmy days here for outdoor activities but as soon as the sun goes it is chilly and then its fireside with red wine and blogland! Autumn here is like having the best of both seasons...

  50. Hi Tina,
There all fantastic, but #3 & #7 were my favorites!

I've been away so long, and just read about Teddy. I am so sorry, must have been especially hard on your boys. I love my dog so much and Goldens do just trust everyone and everything, it really never occurs to them that there is evil lurking, they're so much like children in that regard.
Sending love and and 2 paws up!

  51. Hi TIna,
So happy to hear that Teddy is mending! And that you had some relaxing time this weekend. I have to say, I know it's kind of strange to have this warm weather, but I am LOVING it!

And, if I was spending time outside....I'd have to go with Michael Smith's space. I just love a big shade tree!!

    Have a wonderful day!

I'm so glad that dear Teddy is home and healing! I'm sure you aren't letting him out of your sight. Our pets are such a part of the family, we have a big Chocolate lab and one persian who wants to live outside and one feral alley cat, that won't leave the basement or my bed... I love them all!

  63. Tina, I am so happy life is getting back to normal for you... and Teddy is doing well.

When I was a little girl my sister and I used to play a game called "pick". We would get the Sears or Penney's catalogs, sit down with it between us on our laps and take turn picking out one thing from each page. It became ours. One page page my sister got to "pick" first and the next I would get to "pick" first. This game would occupy us for hours! Your posts where we all get to "pick" is so much fun!

I would pick #2! I love the fireplace and the setting! I certainly hope it comes with staff... I need staff! Just cleaning that space would take a week!

  67. HI Tina ..... I am so happy that your beautiful dog, Teddy, is well and on the mend. It must have been an incredibly difficult time for you all. Just to have him by your side is wonderful. Are the dogs that are responsible and their owner going to be called to task? I hope so as it is such an abominable thing that happened.
On a lighter note I absolutely loved all your images of the blue china and most especially with the white tulips! Stunning! I have just picked an end of season white rose and taken a photo of it with my blue ginger jar!
    have a lovely week
