Happy Sunday and highlights from an early morning walk.

Hi there. Well, my day yesterday did not turn out exactly as I would have hoped, ended up getting a migraine which became full blown by around 4 or 5 and off to bed I went after taking my medication which totally zonked me out. I slept until this morning....missing the party, my husband and oldest son went however. I woke up definitely feeling better, THANKFULLY, I would say about 90% which I will happily take and decided on an early morning walk with my faithful companion, Teddy in tow to lead the way. It was an overcast morning but that didn't stop me from taking some pictures of things just starting to bloom and enjoying being headache free and out and about to enjoy all the pretty nature ushering in a new season, confused as it might be! So here are a few highlights......

The "master" meditating!
Deciding if he up for a walk or not......
Cherry blossoms a little confused, just started blooming (no worries electrical boxes soon to be covered)

Part of the old house....love these old planters and pedestals
Gorgeous daffodils still going strong.....

The old pond which we will restore at some point

Even love the old benches.....just as they are

And the old fountain

Teddy on the prowl....
We have many stashes of wood for next winter, used almost none this winter with the mild temps!
A hook mark from a deer......

Such a handsome little devil!

I have a thing for moss covered anything.......

Stubborn Teddy telling me hes ready to go inside and lounge...his morning nap is long overdue!

A final few minutes of meditation.....

And a few thank you's to my blogging friends for current posts about my products and my online store! Thank you all so very much, means a lot....stop by and visit them if you have a minute! (click on header to visit)

Hoping everyone has a relaxing and wonderful Sunday!

  2. Tina- what pretty and peaceful pictures, I see Teddy enjoys these walks as much as you do. The nature is beautiful because of how mature it is. I adore the beautiful old statuary pieces and pond and think its great that you chose to keep them and use them with the new. Sorry about your headache, I have never had one but my sister gets them horribly and I know they can be really painful. So glad you are better today.

  3. Good Morning Tina,
Glad you are feeling better. I may have missed it in prior posts but you have made mention of a prior house on the property a few times. Can you share more about that and do you have any pics. I love the history of properties and I am sure your readers would also be intrigued.
On a more personaly note, will you be putting in a pool for the summer?
Have a great rest of your day and when you have time (ha ha) check out my latest post. It is loaded with pics of my english bulldog, Albert. I think it will make you smile.

  4. Hello Tina,

Happy Sunday! I am so sorry that you missed our party, but thankfully your meds took care of the problem. This looks like the perfect way to get to 100%, a walk with your adorable pup Teddy. He is so cute.

Take care of yourself! Enjoy your day, relax and feel better!

  5. So beautiful. I feel like you are walking through a beautiful park! How sweet that Teddy leads the way, he is beautiful and looks like he has such a sweet disposition. Tina, I also want you to know I received my dough bowl yesterday and am in love with it. I promptly went out to buy 4 dozen green apples and it looks so beautiful. Have family coming over for dinner tonight so its right on my island for everyone to enjoy. I will send you a picture. Love it!

  8. First off, I am so sorry you suffer from migraines. Grandmother Claire used to get them and suffered terribly. I am glad you are feeling more chipper this morning.

What a wonderful walk with your companion. I'll tell you, Tina, the grounds around your home are as beautiful as the home itself (or will be when you are finished with them. I can't wait to see he pond/fountain restored. What a beauty that will be.

Have a wonderful, blessed Sunday. We are taking a down day here although MyHero is on call at the hospital until 7am tomorrow. He is sleeping right now and I am beeper sitting!;>) xo Diana

  10. Looks like a gorgeous place to go for a walk with your little buddy. I'm glad you're feeling better and hope your walk cleared out the last bits of your headache. The husband took Dylan dog off for a hike two hours ago and they aren't back yet so hoping we have a tired puppy when they get home.

    Enjoy your Sunday!

Glad to hear your feeling better. Anyone who suffers from migraines fully knows they are more miserable than words can describe. Perhaps I'm late to the movie but I didn't realize there was another house on the property before you built this one. Can you share a little more about that.

  13. Hi Tina,
Trying to do a little catching up here:-). Happy to hear that you're feeling better. Teddy, "the master" has an enviable playground, beautifully and meticulously landscaped. I LOVE IT! Happy Sunday! xx

  19. Awww, I do love seeing Teddy, he is such a love. I bet he is eager for true spring and summer, warmer temps are easier on older bones, at least our Tilly thinks so. I'm so glad you woke up headache-free, as someone who has struggled with migraines, I "feel your pain"!

    Enjoy your Sunday Tina!

  25. Isn't spring a wonderful thing - the daffodils coming up in your garden look so bright and cheery.

  26. So sorry about your migraine. I suffer from them occasionally too and they are just AWFUL. Do you ever take magnesium? Magnesium is supposed to help them and I think it has helped our family.

Love the old and pond benches.

  27. Sorry to hear of the migraine. They are amazingly devastating. Looks like a lovely walk. So neat to have a new home with such beautifully mature gardens. I know you live in NY (as do I) but I wonder where. North shore of LI?

  30. It never ceases to amaze me how much I feel after a morning walk. I'm glad the migraine dissipated. My son suffers so I know how debilitating they can be.
But you had a fine gentleman there looking after you...Teddy's such a handsome dog.
Thank you for letting me join you on your walk. I really enjoyed it :D
    Have a great week.

  31. Oh, I just hate how paralyzing migraines can be. When I lived in NY, I would leave work with one, get in a cab, tell the driver my address, and fall asleep in the back. Thankfully, my body was not found in a dumpster in Queens. I'm sorry it got you down for a bit.

LOVE that old pond - how charming! xo

  32. Tina,
So sorry to hear about your migraine. I have a good friend that gets them...miserable. Incur grounds are filled with promise. A pond would be beautiful.

  33. On the bright side, maybe you really needed some serious down time, which it sounds like you got. Yes, Teddy is a wonderful walking companion to explore with. Looks like a morning in the English countryside...very pretty!

  34. Oh that migraine. I always feel for you. Still looks a little chilly where you are. How lovely that your bulbs can pop up every year. Any Easter plans?

  35. Hi Tina, Didn't get a chance to chime in yesterday. Hope you are feeling much better. A friend of ours ended up at the Mayo Clinic for his migraines, a bit of a trip from ol' SoCal. After exhaustive testing, the most important advice...stay away from any food treated with or containing sulphites...dried fruit, wines except organic, beer, LOTS of baked goods and processed foods, lots of frozen foods. There is a great list on Health Canada. Our food supply is suspect, at best, these days.
    Hope this helps!
    xoxo, Chris

  36. Hi, i feel for u. I get about 18 migraines a month. There is a week i get none. Zomig helps! I could not work without it. And Chris is right stay away from the foods , she listed. And sulphites is a big one. I can't eat diet foods or drinks cause some ingrediant in them i get instant migraine. They say stay away from cheese! i love cheese!;0 Have u tried a cup of hot cocoa right when your head starts to throb. ? It can help take it way sometimes if u r not into medicines. Any over the counter drug does not even touch my headaches. Imitrix is prescribed for alot of migraine sufferers. Did not work for me but may for u. Don't let it waste your day or special activity ask your dr. for something. It took me many tries to find something for me. That is why i suggested Zomig and Imitrix cause regular Dr.s tend to prescribe weaker stuff. ANd go to someone that specializes in them. Like a Neurologist. Sorry i just want to help . If i can give someone info that suffers from these and gets them help or ideas to ask there Dr. it makes me happy!:) ANd honestly i do not like or can handle medicine. But for my migraines it is a must!
