It has forced me to realize fall is not so far away. I have succumbed to the fact that summer is winding down with only about 3 weeks left to go, the start of school and the many back to school sales are a sure reminder, football practice is starting and of course fall is beckoning and getting louder every day with subtle little hints. The bright side is of course that I love fall weather, comfort foods and of course all the beautiful fall fashions!
Every season I buy at least one really good coat, one that I am totally in love with and will feel like a million bucks wearing. It is afterall a very long season and I get a lot of mileage out of my good classics. So I got busy and admittedly had fun checking out some of the new coats. ReplyDeleteFor me its 1, 2 and 7. 1 is a fun coat but still super sophisticated. 2 is tailored and elegant for day or night and 3 looks so comfy but is very chic and perfect for everyday.....bring fall on!

ReplyDeleteIt has been beautiful lately!! Weather perfection....and it has made me think, too, that fall isn't that far away.
I have some great classic coats that seem to be holding up well, but if were to add just this year, I think that last one (the fuchsia) would be my choice. Fun over black and a happy shot of color for the days that begin to get a little darker.

I am in love with coat 1 and 3 is a close second. I do love to buy a new coat each season as well. Truthfully, most of the coats you posted were beautiful. I guess you really cannot go wrong here. Enjoy your shopping adventure. Nothing like retail therapy.

ReplyDeleteHi Tina, I am dragging my feet and putting my head firmly in the sand when it comes to fall, so haven't even given the side eye to any wardrobe updates yet! But I love the color of number 5 and the cut of number 6 - if we could somehow combine the two I think that would be enough to get me to start shopping!

I LOVE # 4...so chic ,with the leather pockets. I can see slipping this on with jeans ,or dressy black slacks. Because it is unstructured, it will glide over bulky sweaters. A turtleneck will look great with this coat, because it doesn't have a collar. Okay, now I have convinced myself...I WANT this coat !! who makes it ? Have a great day, Tina !! Ellen

ReplyDeleteA more loosely unfitted coat is what is has been marked 'the coat' for the season. I like that it offers more comfort for layering with a sweater under and large scarves around the neckline, and want a loose fit that still has style. These are great choices and colours that will brighten up a fall day. I like 2 and 15 for their classic appeal. But 10 and 16 offer great colour that I tend to crave in the cooler seasons.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely group of choices, they are all splendid. I would go with #16, the lines are so classic, and it would add such a pop of color. Second choice would be #15 for almost all the same reasons, plus, it would be more practical as it would be worn more frequently. (But who wants to be practical when you can opt for fun?!)

7, 9 AND 10 all do it for me though I would be happy to wear any of them! Especially if the bodies shown are included :-) Just ordered a Max Mara coat and cannot wait to get it!

Oh my this is hard, I am actually on the hunt for a pink coat so the lighter pink coat is on my radar. Loved the Miu miu gray one with the pleats. The red classic. Also would love a fun little leopard coat, nothing expensive but a trendy little piece to have in the closet. Maybe a goldenrod coat would be nice as well. All of your selections are classic and beautiful. Did you get my email about the lip balm?

I'd start with 4, 7, 12 and 16. For a final decision I'd have to try them on and see how they fit on my short body. The collar on 12 might be too much for me but sheepskin is so practical and warm. I love the pockets on 4, and the colour of 16 would brighten a winter day.

ReplyDeleteAll of them are beautiful! I would gladly take any of them! But I must say, I am partial to #14 & #16. I love the classic pea-coat of #14 as well as the lovely olive color and buttons, but there has always been something about the color pink in a coat! I just love it, hence #16. Pink is so friendly.
ReplyDeleteI think #14 and #15 would have to be my choices. I love the relaxed/classic style of both of them. I cringe at the thought of fall, because then chasing after it is SNOW.... Where I live, our warm weather is a very short period of time, the grass and trees are never green long enough and the brown colors are here for an eternity. The only good thing about the fall season is football. :)
