ReplyDeleteThat white table with the bright blue print above it, that settee, the bathrooms with gray...they are above all my favorites, but Tina, I love how you have focused on this one element of design that would otherwise be overlooked.
Fine interiors are your specialty and are you an interior decorator by profession? If not, you SHOULD BE! And one day, I would love to open up Veranda, House Beautiful or ELLE interiors (is there one?) and find YOUR HOME THERE. It can be done. You've got it!
Have a super day dear Tina. Anita

Greek key is trendy, but classic at the same time and when done in moderation, it adds a touch of elegance and class. This post shows that perfectly!

ReplyDeleteI am a die-hard Greek Key fan. That is why I chose it as the banner on my blog header. Mary McDonalds trims are amazing and was a fan from the onset of seeing her collection. If you need a little more Greek key fix, I have a pinboard for Greek key. I do find a little goes a long way in a room, if it is overdone it loses its effect. For one of my winter pillows I have a beautiful heavy linen with Greek key trim on a lumbar pillow. Always love your pots,

ReplyDeleteThe room in my childhood home I remember the most fondly was my parent's bedroom. My mother, who was a meticulous sewer, made a fitted bedspread of grey quilted fabric that was trimmed in a Greek key motif. The curtains were the same gray fabric with Greek key-trimmed valances and the walls were painted a luscious eggplant. This was in the 1950s, folks. My mother was ahead of her time. It is because of her and my grandmother -- who both had an eye for design --that I developed my love for it.
ReplyDeleteBest...Victoria
Hi Tina...I love anything with classical elements and the greek key is one of my favorites. I realized after reading your post that I don't have a single greek key item in my home...something I need to change ASAP.

Yes, another Greek key fan, here! So classical and handsome, it is one of my favorite borders on anything!! I love it on furniture, pillows, rugs, buildings, etc. Beautiful post, Tina.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Loi
Lovely. I mean it's obvious, but a Greek design brings a very regal quality to our dream house. There's the weight of history too, of connecting with the formal antecedent of many a look, structure, and design. It seems so far, and yet so close. Heh. And yes, it can be attained. I'm sure we can all manage to build and own such room qualities for ourselves. ;)
