Thankfully the weather is supposed to be sunny, warm and wonderful after days and days of torrential rains so no complaints! I will, as always try to capture some of the highlights and share them with you next week. Today is just a bunch of fun randomness and I am really glad I had worked on this last week and have it ready to go minus a little tweaking. Hope you are doing well and wishing all the Fathers out there a very happy and relaxing Fathers Day! Here we go....
Table manners! Thought this was rather nifty as we can all use a refresher course here and there on table settings and what to put where, don't you think?
Blue and white anything! You know I love it, one of my favorite summer looks is a pair of white pants, a white t and a great scarf. I have tons of scarves and wear them year round. How great is this one! I love it no matter the price but how about if I told you its $14.00 at Tarjay? Yep! Click here to grab one.....
Chinoiserie......Can you believe this is melamine? I am in love! I love the bamboo detailing and don't even get me started on the chinoiserie and then that its blue and white just slays it out of the park! Gorgeous, right? If I didn't' have my own set from my own shop (which I also love and it does work so well on my patio) I would be all over this. If you want to see it, go to Newportstyle.net......
The Hamptons! The gorgeous Hamptons, one of my favorite places especially off season or during the week. The traffic on weekends is craaaazy and really frustrating but it's always a beautiful picturesque place to visit traffic or no traffic. More pictures from my jaunt there last week that I wanted to share..........
A windmill is a sure sign you are in the Hamptons!
We love eating at The Palm and have had many wonderful dinners there through the years.....
The beautiful pond leading into East Hampton.......
This house was dubbed "the perfect house" by my boys when they were very young and funny, they still as young men refer to it as that!
Signs of Americana are everywhere and just add to the charm
The Perfect house again......it really is perfect!
The newest full service luxury hotel, Topping Rose House.....heard it's gorgeous!
A pretty school building in Bridgehampton
One of the many wineries
Charming antique shop of wihch there are many......
A passing glimpse of Pierres a really charming French bistro/cafe that serves excellent food |
And then I hit one of my favorite farmstands and my camera
got a workout...what is it about photographing fruits and veges that so
excites me? Please tell me I am not alone!
Fell madly in love with this Eden climbing rose.....am looking into planting some, they are exquisite!
There they are again? Aren't they stunning? And sooo fragrant too!
I love green and white together, so crisp and elegant......
A great new recipe. I always try to experiment and add at least one new dish (if not more) when I have any kind of gathering. I like expanding and trying new things. This one is a total winner! A heavenly Spinach, Feta, Roasted bell pepper Greek salad. Made it for my lunch and it was divine!!!!! I was so happy I made a lot because the leftovers were so good the next day, but didn't last much beyond that! I found this recipe from Instructables. Click here for the recipe!
Topiaries. Love them! Back at home, I planted some new topiaries in some small blue and white containers and put them in my kitchen. Take a look.....
And how beautiful is this large antique blue and white dish I found at a sm. antiques shop in CT? Love it!
Also I get people asking here and there about the darling Staffordshire dog lamps that I have featured a while back, yes they are for sale and do come in blue and black. People seem to have a hard time finding them, they are under new arrivals but I will soon have to move them to lamps (duh)!. Click here to see them....
And.....finally two long anticipated items (both heirloom quality have arrived! These wonderful chargers are finally here. Literally just unloaded and my first orders will be shipping out on Monday. They are so exquisite. They will be on my online shop by Monday or can email me here if you want to purchase them. ReplyDeleteEden Roses......... they seem to be a favourite of everyone, easy to see why. They really are a romantic looking rose.
ReplyDeleteI took a look at the Topping Rose House online - it looks like a nice recommendation.
Great post!
ReplyDeleteI want to visit The Hamptons one day.
Your photos sealed the deal!!!!!
This post made me very homesick for my home state of NY, very homesick. I miss all the fruit, flower and veggie stands......especially the just picked fresh bakers dozen corn stands. It is so different here. Glad the weather will be nice for your Sunday get together. Enjoy.

ReplyDeleteHi Tina,
ReplyDeleteThere is something about that beautiful light in the Hamptons, isn't it? I have so many nice memories from the few summers I spent there. Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos.

Tina I am with you, I get giddy with displays of fruits and veggies. Especially when I was in Paris, they do everything so artfully. The Hamptons is on my bucket list of places to go. What time of year is the best time to go? Loved this post, always love following along with the life of Tina!! Great fun,

PS the house is the perfect house, your boys are right on!!
pinned the salad, YUM!!
Hello there gorgeous Tina! WHEW...I finally made it over myself today; I missed my morning routine of visiting blogs but here I am. Oh how the Hamptons ooze with GLORY! The white clapboard traditional homes, the water, the gardens, it's all so AMERICAN in the traditional sense.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a happy party, much joy, and fabulous memories for Father's Day.
Hope to see you when you are not so busy; I will finally be taking a blogging break since my poetry writing class starts this Tuesday and I need to make an emergency flight out to California in the next two weeks. So I will not be around, but you all are always in my heart.
LOVE! Anita
LOVE this tour of the Hamptons, a place I've never been to! Oh, no, you're not alone on the market photos, I have SO many, and still can't stop shooting! Is that the market from the movie Somethings Gotta Give? Looks like it. LOVE the piink truck with the flowers. It is amazing to see all of the quality products in melamine these days that tray is gorgeous. Your topiary vignette is exquisite. Have a great weekend!! ~ ebh

ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Tina, your topiaries look so perfect, you make me want to rush out to my garden center and copy!
ReplyDeleteLove the etiquette chart and of course all those marvelous pictures of the Hamptons brings back many happy memories of visiting my grandparents there every summer in East Hampton. Its a wonderful place but unfortunately it has changed a lot (not for the better in my humble opinion). However I do agree it is still a really beautiful place. Enjoy your party and don't work too hard:-)
Thanks for the great images, Tina. If I could crawl through the computer screen, I would devour the figs and cherries, and grab the flowers. So perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe salad looks amazing, and as always, your shop is amazing.

We love the Hamptons but avoid it during the summer but as soon as fall is here we're there to hit one of our favorite places for some fresh chowder. We're picking strawberries here and there but how in the world did someone get figs? They aren't in season until the fall, I love figs, lucky you! I hope you have a wonderful party tomorrow!

Hi Tina - I can't believe you even had time to post before your big party tomorrow night! I can't believe I haven't been to the Hamptons in twenty years - after seeing your pictures, I really want to go back!!! I hope your party tomorrow goes well...it should be a nice day.

I had so much to say while reading this post, but THEN I saw the Eden climbing rose, and it just claimed the whole show! Don't you just love this rose? I have two teeny tiny ones that I ordered in the mail. I want them to grow up so badly. Nowhere that I've been in my area has had such mature specimens as you've shown. I hope you'll grow them and think you'll be pleased.
ReplyDeleteI just found another rose, you may have seen it on my blog, by the same breeder, Meilland. It's called Francis Meilland hybrid tea rose, not a climber but grows up to 6-1/2 - 7 feet. I have two of them. Unlike Eden that has little scent, Francis Meilland smells AMAZING!

Beautiful and inspiring post! Many blessings to all the fathers in you're life. May they have a fun and restful time at your Father's Day bash!
ReplyDeleteI love it when you do tours of the Hamptons and share it with us, particularly for those of us too far away to get there. I love seeing all those beautiful houses, many I have photographed myself, and all the local haunts and hotspots. I adore those beautiful blue and white chinoiserie plates too, and the pattern is almost identical to the Thibaut wallpaper in my powder room. Might have to order me some....Your topaires are stunning. Wish I had the time or inclination to do that. SO hard to find here.
ReplyDeleteGood morning sunshine! As I type, there goes that early morning sun, streaming into my writing studio where my tea set sits! How the sun makes us happy, doesn't it, Tina? We had buckets of rain yesterday, but no one is raining on our parade today! Enjoy your Father's Day today and thank you my friend for coming to see my little château; I still need to capture good pictures of the rest of the house and I hope to one day get those exposed beams in my great room to share.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun day! Anita
I love everything from all the fresh produce to the topiaries in the blue and white cachepots, and the recipe looks delish!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab post and I really wasn't expecting so much with all that you have on your plate!:-) Absolutely love the Hamptons...will be in NY end of this month, and would love to make it toThe Hamptons! Love that you photograph fruits, veggies, and flowers, and would love one or two of almost everything in your Shop! BTW, topiaries look great:-) Carol P.

ReplyDeleteTina, I love the Hamptons and though I am very lucky to live in northern California since I was born and raised in NY, I must admit I miss it terribly when I see those pictures. You depicted the best of the Hamptons.
ReplyDeleteYour new additions are so beautiful and elegant and that pasta salad looks really really good and healthy.
