Which would you choose? Golden Globes edition!

Hi there and happy Sunday afternoon to you. I don't normally post on the weekends, but on occasion there is a good reason to. The Golden Globes being one such good reason. Are you watching? Admittedly (call me vain) I love the pre show and fashions way more than having to endure the looooong award show. I love to see what everyone is wearing, normally I walk away with a clear cut winner in my mind and unfortunately many who disappoint. I sometimes think, with every resource known to mankind and that's the best you can do? Anyone with me on this one?
So let's dream a little here....you have just been told that there is an extra seat for you at the Golden Globes!!  A plane will be there to pick you up in just a few hours. You are given a choice of the following gowns to wear....you know the drill, Which would you choose? I cannot wait to see what you are wearing to this fancy schmancy soiree..... Have fun!

CHOICE 1
Alice by Temperly

 CHOICE 2
Lanvin

CHOICE 3
Halston Heritage

CHOICE 4

Roland Mouret

CHOICE 5
Temperley London

CHOICE 6
Marni

CHOICE 7
Gucci

CHOICE 8
Notte by Marchesa
CHOICE 9
Matthew Williamson
CHOICE 10
Marchesa
CHOICE 11
Roland Mouret
CHOICE 12
Temperley
CHOICE 13
Michael Kors

CHOICE 14
Prabal Gurung
CHOICE 15
Oscar De La Renta

CHOICE 16
Jason Wu
Oh boy...so many beauties. I am kind of feeling the creamy numbers, that Lanvin....dreamy. But then we have Jason Wu, Oscar and Prabal too. Temperly looking mighty good too. Marchesa is always a sure bet for major glam. Oh no, you only have hours to choose....which one will be the lucky dress to make it down the red carpet? Can't wait to to hear! Are you watching? Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon/evening.......

  1. I'll choose # 8 and, for a close second, No. 11. They grab one's attention for sure.

  2. Alice!!! Your "Choice 1" is also mine! Traditional classic elegance! Love it! And love your blog too ~ enjoy your Sunday afternoon!

  3. Hi Tina, how fun to see a post from you today. Yes, I love all preshows more than the actual awards myself. So much fun to see what everyone chooses to wear. I had a hard time with this, it was between #1 so classic, #16 great mix of texture and color and #10 which is just elegant and beautiful. So I am sorry I cannot choose one, can I wear all three?

  4. Oh it KILLS me not to be with my Mom and Sister tonight eating a "casse-croute" (as is said here in France) of our favorite yummy things while chatting non-stop! I think that the Globes will be a better see because of the hosts--why aren't they doing the Oscars?!? But because it is the Globes, I would choose #5 (or #16) the only less formal options here. Unless I knew I was absolutely going to win and then it would have to be the MK gold. :)

  5. These are actually killer gowns. Wow, you know how to pick them. But I would love to wear a big splash of color so its a tie between 14 and 16. Enjoy the show!

  6. For my age and body, I would go with the Red Oscar gown. Love it!

  7. #6 for me! I'll be watching -- so excited Tina Fey and Amy Pohler are hosting. How can that not be FUN?!!

  8. Gucci! Give me a tan, a few chunky gold pieces of jewelry and gold shoes and I am all set. Fun!

    ReplyDelete
  9. #3, Halston Heritage for sure, classic and a beautiful color on all.

  10. Immediately I went to the Lanvin gown myself! Loved it! What fun it would be to truly be there! Happy Sunday, Tina!

  11. I'll take the Michael Kors -- only if I can have her figure, too! Lol

  12. Oscar in a heartbeat, although that first ALICE by Temperley was a close second! Great topic Tina, I enjoy these. :)

  13. You can definitely never go wrong in Marchesa. My pick is #10!! Can't wait to watch the red carpet!

  16. Hi Tina... I knew I liked you! I am counting the minutes til the pre-show tonight with pen and paper next to my favorite chair ready to make notes about my favorite dresses. Usually, my girls and I watch the show together and comment on everything. But they are at college, so the Mister will have to sit in. Both the girls are busy tonight, so I told them I would blog about it. My favorite dresses are: love the color of #4; #11 is so elegant;#13 love the gold and the cut of the dress. Have fun watching tonight!

  18. Number 13 does it for me. So elegant.

  19. Great idea for a post. Hard to choose though. I only watch the shows, don't even bother with the boring actual awards, they put me to sleep! I love 1, 16, 2, 8 and 14. I simply cannot narrow it down! Too many great selections here.

  20. Can I vote for 2? 6 or 13 would be my choices. If only one I would have to say 6 please.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It would be Number 6.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I pick choice 1, but choice 8 reminds me of a fancy dress one of my 1st Barbies had!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Number one would be the one I would chose to wear with some sensational ear rings.Wouldn't it be lovely to be there in person. Can't wait for the show. Betty Baker from Ontario Canada

  24. Wow so many wonderful choices Tina but number 8 gets my vote. You have to stand out on that evening!

  25. I really like the old fashioned feel (kinda Downton Abby which I am obsessed with) and color of number 12. It is quite understated but most like my own style. I could see it with an oversized pair of vintage earrings. All of them are beautiful though, can't wait to see what everyone is wearing.

  26. OK if I was in my 20's choice 14
if in my 30's choice 4 or 16
and if in my 40's choice 1 or 6
    any older choice 15

    Fun to pretend....

  27. What a delightful post 6 and 9 are my choices!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I would definitely choose #12

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm going glitz with #13. Gotta go gold for the globes

    ReplyDelete
  30. 1st choice #6, 2nd choice #13. Definitely love the red carpet more than the show but watching both nonetheless. DVRing Downton Abbey for tomorrow! Good start to the week.
Raining and dreary here in DC so your post is a ray of sunshine in the day!
    Thank you!

  31. Halston Heritage #3 followed closely by Marchesa #10...maybe I could change at intermission.

  35. #1 with #6 a close second. How fun it would be to be a guest!

  36. Phew! Only 10 minutes till the Red Carpet. Since I'm only getting a seat and not a nomination, I'll choose either # 1 or Halston Heritage # 3. Both totally comfortable.

I can imagine Jessica Chastain wearing # 13, and Michelle Dockery wearing # 10 (Downton Abbey got a Best Drama in Television nomination). In any case I think we're going to see a lot of new fashion trends - can't wait!

  37. Happy Sunday,
    sweet friend! I will
    go with #6, hair up
    and diamonds : )
    How's that for my
    fantasy night? Thanks
    for making me smile!

  44. Absolutely #6 Marni! Great Choices!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. 10. 14 or 16. I know you asked for 1 but it is way too hard to say just one when presented with so many great choices! All are beautiful bu these are my top 3.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I love 7 and 14! definitely my style! I can't wait to see all of the fashion too! So much fun! XOXO

  47. I don't know, the only one slightly interesting to me is the last one, just because it's a bit more unexpected and is the only one that stands out in my memory, but not sure I love it. I'm on the west coast where the red carpet is just starting so will have to see if anybody does anything noteworthy and/or especially beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  48. LOVE 1, 2 and 16. The yellow dress is really gorgeous too but I think only good for a younger person and since I am fast approaching the big "50' afraid its too young for me! So I choose 1, 2 or 16.

Watching now and so far not too thrilled with anything except Taylor Swift who I think looks beautiful.

  49. I am in love with #2, the Lanvin gown.

  57. No. 1 or 8, please. Carol P.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Love the Lanvin, but I don't need that extra detail around the waist. So I'm picking the Temperley London.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Aw.....give me number EIGHT! I am a drama queen at heart...HI TINA! Anita

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm torn between 3 and 6...had so much fun watching all the beautiful women last night. It has to be exhausting work maintaining such beauty. Sigh.....

    ReplyDelete
  61. Definitely #1. So classic and elegant. Had to laugh at Hazel's comment about #8. My Barbie had that gown too!! It came with long black gloves and a microphone on a stand.

    ReplyDelete
  62. The Temperly, Marchesa, and Mouret gowns are all beauties, but I think #13, Michael Kors, is most appropriate for the event. Glam and GOLD!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'd pick number 12 the Temperly, so very elegant.
