Good morning... its open house day again, Sunday! A day of relaxation, a day for all us hardworking mortals to sit back, relax and enjoy (whatever the word enjoyment may mean to you) Hopefully you had a productive week and will feel deserving of having earned a day to do exactly as you please.....to the victor goes the spoils.....so spoil yourself in visiting these glorious homes. Three totally different types of homes and styles, three far away locales, The smoky mountains, Nantucket and The Lot Valley in France. Hopefully something for everyone. I see a little inspiration in each of these homes and there are elements of the various designs that appeal to me...and as I say one never ever stops learning. Enjoy your day, and as always....please let me know if you have a favorite!
So here we are in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, feeling like we have been transported from the English Countryside. We are at "Toad Hall", the sprawling, dreamy compound which consists of not one but five charming log cabins, each prettier than the next. The main house whose interiors are featured here were beautifully done by Suzanne Kasler. They do not disappoint.The Bealls, who also happen to own that quaint little farm, Blackberry Farm (I am being facetious...am obsessed with BF) are the owners of Toad Hall. This is country living at its finest.

Next we move onto Nantucket, that charming island of preppy righteousness, beautiful ocean front shingled cottages and picturesque lighthouses. This gorgeous home on the ocean is designed by Elisa Cullman and combines a high country style with casual beach elegance. The rooms are bright, cheery with unobstructed views to take advantage of the vistas that lie outside. Last, it was designed very much in keeping with the coastal charm of being rooted on 

Nantucket Island.

Last stop.... we jet over to France and to the quiet, serene  storybook countryside, the Lot Valley, an area famed for its Truffles. This fabulous old traditional french home, once completely abandoned was brought lovingly back to life in the 1960's. The integrity remains the same and painstaking efforts obviously went into preserving and celebrating the charming character that this home embodies.
