Good morning! I had the opportunity to attend an intimate Q&A with Mr. and Mrs. Howard over at the spectacular Safavieh Showroom in Stamford, CT. yes....that talented duo that produces some of my all time favorite rooms.....rooms that fill endless pages in blogland and Pinterest boards. What a lovely, charming and talented couple they are! I loved hearing about their story, how they got started in their business....and as with most things in life, when something is meant to be, it somehow just "happens" in a rather effortless way. Their story is wonderful, heart warming, inspiring and proof that when you have a passion for something and follow your heart, sometimes amazing things can happen and the rest will follow.....their wild success is certainly a tribute to that!! I also love that they are a husband and wife team......that in itself is a huge feat:)
Their new line for Sherrill furniture is absolutely gorgeous. There isn't a piece of furniture there I would be delighted to add to my own home. It is traditional but has a current/modern edge that makes the furniture highly appealing and most appropriate for today's slightly more casual lifestyle. I love that nearly every piece is made in the U.S.A. (worth its weight in gold)! Sherrill produces excellent quality, extremely comfortable and affordable furniture, it's no wonder that they are a very popular "go to" source for so many designers. The Mr. and Mrs Howard furniture line feels much like their namesake rooms do, welcoming, elegant, crisp and clean, warm and sophisticated.
Phoebe was so kind to sign a copy of her exquisite new bestselling book, The Joy of Decorating for one of my lucky readers. I have owned this book since it came out and have referred to it countless times, enjoyed hearing their stories and love how the book is categorized by themes. It is a true feast for the senses!
I am quite sure, that many of you, being the savvy design loving readers you are, own this book but for those that don't this is one of those "must haves" that belongs in every design lovers home. So I am giving away a signed book to one lucky winner! Lets take a look at rooms that have received the Howard magic and a few favorite pieces from The Sherrill Collection, then details follow on the bottom.........
Some exquisite new pieces from the Sherrill Collection for Mr. and Mrs. Howard.....
This is one of my all time favorite bedrooms (for anyone who has been reading my blog a long time, you know this)!
This could make me want to call in sick every day!
Love everything, every tine detail about this space.....recognize the belljar?
Love the cocoon like feeling of this sumptuous bedroom.....
Pretty spectacular wouldn't you say? The book is filled with so many stunning images front to back....a true keeper. To me, their rooms always feel like walking onto a perfect billowy cloud, my absolute favorite feeling for a room. They design and decorate a "Howard room" with just the right amount of elegance, sophistication and clean lines sprinkled with a healthy dose of soft colors and lots of lovely painted finishes. Do you notice not a lot of pattern in their rooms? I think this is why they are so pleasing to the eye and why they are no doubt, a household name for anyone in the know:)
So how to win this wonderful signed book.....visit them over at Sherrill Furniture , come back here and tell me your favorite item from their new collection. Want a second chance? Subscribe to become a reader on her blog, which by the way is really fantastic, filed with all kinds of valuable "how tos" and I love their weekly before and afters. Phoebe is really generous in sharing her talent, knowledge and expertise through her blog. I will announce one lucky winner on Monday!

Many thanks as always for stopping in and wishing you a fabulous Thursday!

Pick me! I would love to have this book but if I don't win, I am buying it. I love their style. Always drawn to their peaceful beautiful soft feeling rooms, especially the bedrooms. I love the scalloped backed sofa, what a beautiful piece of furniture! Love the line.

ReplyDeleteLooking for a new couch and I love the lines of the Parker sofa. I haven't purchased this book yet and would love to add it to the library. Always find inspiration in her work. Thanks, Maura
ReplyDeleteWould love to have this book. There are several pieces I would love to have for my home, the Chateau Commode, Montclaire Chaise and the Cathedral Sofa.
ReplyDeleteYour favorite bedroom is also my favorite. I have a cathedral ceiling in my master bedroom and a similar paneled ceiling design would have a big impact. Thanks, Melanie
I fell in love with the Montclaire chaise! It looks so comfortable and is a perfect place to relax and read the Howards' book. Of course, blue is my favorite and this is a gorgeous shade of blue. The Howards are an amazing couple!
ReplyDeleteI have also subscribed to Mrs. Howard's Blog. A win, win. Looks like a great blog. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHer rooms are scrumptious! I will definitely order the book, thank you for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, i remembered the bell jar:)

ReplyDeletep.s. My favorite item from their new collection is:
ReplyDeleteMH10523 Fairholm King Upholstered Bed
I have been a follower of Mrs. Howard's blog since they opened their store in Charlotte. Their rooms have such an easy elegance that will stand the test of time. Their spaces make me want to exhale. I would love to add the book to my collection, along with the Paris Cocktail Table in Light Vellum. Such a yummy table! Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteGunderson wing chair! Love the lines & gorgeous color. -Alicia (acummingsart@gmail.com)
ReplyDeleteI love the chaise . It is a interesting mix of modern and traditional
ReplyDeleteI would love to have 2 swivel chairs. I especially like that the furniture is made in my home state. I have wanted to own this book since it came out. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI love Mr and Mrs Howard! I read Mrs Howard's blog daily because they have such exquisite taste. Their rooms are so soft, I feel like if I sat in one, all my stresses would melt away. Holding their signed book would be the next best thing! Thank you for this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised at the range of styles in their Sherrill collection. The two that stood out to me are the Putnam Side Table and the South Beach Ottoman. Both unique shapes and colors.
I do not own this book, but would be delighted to do so. My favorite piece of furniture is the Chateau Commode. Pat C.
ReplyDeleteHi Tina! I covet the Shelter Island bed--what an inviting guest bedroom that would make. I share your love for the Howards' design ethos--classic and timeless!
ReplyDeleteI love the Shelter Island Queen Bed! No need for art above that stunning bed! I would love to own this book too!
ReplyDeleteI signed up for Mrs. Howard's blog a long time ago, and enjoy receiving her posts.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI hope I am doing this right for The Joy of Decorating Book. I love the South Hampton white poster bed. It is beautiful. I can just picture a beautiful fluffy duvet on it.
Cathy G
I would love two shelter island beds for my girls for our new beach house! I think they are so talented and I particularly love the beach/coastal homes they have done. Been an admirer for a long time and am going to join her blog, had no idea she had one!
ReplyDeleteTina- if you and the Howards want to take on a project...why dob't you come to my place and give it your magic! I know I would be in the best of hands and would hand my newly built home over to the three of you blindfolded. I love all these rooms that light kitchen is breathtaking and the bedrooms are so peaceful and inviting. I agree I think limited use of pattern is a good thing and part of why all these rooms have that lofy airy feeling that we all seem to love and gravitate towards!
ReplyDeleteI had fun pinning a bunch, many that I have never seen. Would love to win the book! I bought it when it firrst came out "lent" it to my sister in law and somehow it never found its way back to me:-) So think I would love to get a signed one, even better!
Love this post and love your blog, its the highlight of my morning! My coffee and your blog are great companions.
Fondly,
Annie
Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post! Just signed up for Mrs. Howard's email and would love to win her book - what a treat! The furniture is so beautiful but if I had to choose today, I would go with one of her wing backs - probably the throwback but maybe the Gunderson...two of either would be beautiful in my dining room which is being painted as I type this.
Regards,
Sharon
skmatte@aol.com
I love the Pierced Fretwork Side table. It would fit perfectly in my house. Would love to win this book so I could daydream! Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteOops, for two chances to win, I think I was supposed to post two comments - but being in a brain fog I posted both in one...so here is the second...Love your blog - I am a loyal subscriber and I just subscribed to Mrs. Howards.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for the chance at the fab, signed book!
Sharon
skmatte@aol.com
Beautiful Tina! I have this book on my coffee table at the moment ~ beautiful cover! That kitchen is stunning and I'll pin it!
ReplyDeleteYou always share the most beautiful images! My favorite item has to be the Gunderson Chairs. I have any empty bay window in my master bedroom that is begging for some beautiful chairs like these!
ReplyDeleteDrooling over the rooms! So many beautiful rooms, the bedrooms make me want to take a long nap. I would love a pair of the Chateau commodes for my living room. We just moved into a turn of the century Georgian home in CT. and are restoring it slowly. The way they decorate is exactly how i want this house to feel, traditional but light and airy. Love the soft colors they favor, what masterpieces they have created!
ReplyDeleteTina speaking of masterpieces, how is your magnificent home coming along? Every time I see it I am floored, just when I think it cannot be any prettier, you shock me and show me yet something else amazing! When is YOUR book coming out!
I hope to win. Thank you for the chance.
I've been dreaming of a new sofa for our family room, and the Fairfax sofa is perfect. I don't own this book but it looks wonderful-and I'm now a follower of Mrs. Howard, Personal Shopper! Love your home, love your blog...thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love Mr. & Mrs. Howard's designs. What a magnificent duo! I look at their collection and found a sofa I just adore, the Neas Sofa. I love Sherrill Furniture. So well made. I would love their book. I have subscribed to their blog. What a great find! Thanks Tina.
ReplyDeleteFaith B
I'm in love with the stamford buffet! But I agree with you - I would love to own any single piece of this furniture. GREAT post!
ReplyDeleteStacy
No contest....the Southhampton Poster Bed has grabbed me by the scruff of my decorating neck! I just enjoyed a glorious hour dreaming of the possibilities....... And the book is a dream....I wanted to move into some of those beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for introducing me to Sherrill Furniture. I love the fact that they are a husband and wife team. Their style is just beautiful (as is yours!) and I could not get over any of the photos. They were so lovely. I do not have their book, but if I do not win, I will surely purchase it. I subscribed to their blog and I am so happy to have found them through you!! I truly delighted in everything that I saw, but I adored that moody living room in all brown with the lavender couch. So different. I have been thinking of redoing our home in midnight blues, but kind of "scared" of the dark colors. This picture gave me such an inspiration!! Not everyone's cup of tea, but surely mine! Thanks again, for a great post, Tina.
ReplyDeleteHi Tina,
ReplyDeleteAlways look forward to your blog each day. You take your readers places one might never adventure too. Today's post certainly did not disappoint! Love love love the Red Stone Chair. So cozy looking. I too also subscribed to their blog. Thank you for a great post today!!
Marianne
I've been eyeing their Brooke Armless chair for quite some time. They would be perfect flanking my mirrored buffet in my den! I happened upon their showrooms in Atlanta about a year ago and have gone back countless times even when I don't need anything just to drool over all the gorgeousness :)
ReplyDeleteThere are so many great things on their website it is hard to choose, but I would have to say the canopy bed in picture 21 under Mrs. Howard.
ReplyDeleteJane H
Tina I own the book and have had the pleaure of working with this lovely couple. No need to count me in. Love your blog and just had to chime in by saying I agree with how you described their style, it IS like walking in a soft billowy cloud. Their sense of color and proportion is wonderful and so comfortable for today's more casual lifestyle. Happy to see them designing for Sherrill, a great American company that tries hard to keep everything on our turf which I love. Their new line is beautiful and well priced. Great post featuring one of my favorite design firms. Thank you-
ReplyDeleteI am completely in love with all of the new furniture! My favorite is the Shelter Island Queen Bed

I could easily move into any of the rooms designed by Mrs. Howard! I would love the chance to win her lovely book. My choice of furniture is the Chamfered King Poster Bed. It's perfect for my 18th century Chester County farmhouse style.
ReplyDeleteWhat scrumptious spaces. If I had any room that looked like the above I just might not leave home! I love that they are husband and wife, what fun that must have been Tina. I need to get this book, so first I will see if I am lucky enough to win, otherwise I am definitely getting it. My husband just gave our long awaited renovation the green light, so I need all the inspiration I can find. Thank you for such eye candy.
ReplyDeleteTina I wanted to get this book and you just reminded me, but maybe I will get lucky and win a signed one. So will wait first to see who wins. Big fan of their work. I got to see the Southern Living homes which were so beautiful. I could have moved right in! Love the rooms and pieces you featured. My favorite though is easy, love the Tingley bed. It would work so well with my style. Great post!
ReplyDeleteI have never commented on your site, but your home is exquisite! The description "walking onto a perfect billowy cloud" is just perfect! I see so many blogs with painted furniture and Pottery Barn-esque decor that it gets tiresome. Not that there is anything wrong with Pottery Barn: I just do not want a house full of it, and I think we can and should do better. I cannot narrow my favorite from Mr. and Mrs. Howard, but I do love the Neas Sofa and the Biscayne Arm Chair. I had to subscribe to them as well since I am a single momma of two teenagers, and we just have all of this free time! Ha! Best Regards...
ReplyDeleteI love the shelter island bed! Gorgeous shape and color
ReplyDeleteI really love the Paris Cocktail table!
ReplyDeleteI just subscribed to her blog!
ReplyDeleteI love the chateau commode. This would be beautiful with one of their gorgeous mirrors above . The finish shown is beautiful. Her book would be a wonderful addition to my decorating books and to have it signed would be soo lovely. It was a great post Tina . :)
ReplyDeleteShelter Island Bed! I wish I was in it right now :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous things! I would love the PECOS WHITE STOOL. Hard to decide, everything is so awesome. Also I am heading to subscribe to the blog right now!
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of Mr and Mrs Howard too and would love her new book. So much fun to study their rooms and take ideas and inspiration from them. Love the king Tingley bed from their Sherrill line. I've been wanting an upholstered bed with nailheads for awhile now and this is just what I'm picturing in my head. Another great post!
ReplyDeleteHi Tina. I love the work of Mr. and Mrs. Howard and thanks to their work being feautred on your blog many months ago I first discovered them. I am going to follow them, had not idea they have a blog! I also didnt' know they came out with a book so am super excited about that too. I am tackling the decorating of our home on my own after firing 2 designers, both my husband and I though were wasting our time, he though I could do a better job and so far so good. I have gotten many good ideas from you Tina and from the work of The Howards. I love also how they don't use a lot of pattern, its very calming and tranquil. Would love to win this book!
ReplyDeleteAnd would love those plates too, Tina. I will be emailing you.
Thank you-
Dee
Tina..I love their work...another great book I need to buy....

OH, the Paris Cocktail Table in the Vellum finish is the piece for me! In fact, I think I'll take two! Phoebe and Jim are an amazing duo. I'd love to have their book to place on the luscious cocktail table!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity!
Leslie from Jacksonville
Love the designs and truly have loved Sherrill for many years. Four sofas and two chairs later supports my statement. I would have a very difficult time choosing from their ottoman choices, all so graceful yet functional. I would so enjoy their book. I perused it in the book store a few weeks ago and wished. Thank you for your wonderful blog. I especially love photos of your fabulous home. My favorite color is green but you make a great case for blue. Thank you for greeting me every morning with beauty. Nancy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful is all I can say, and the fact that they try to keep it made right here in the wonderful USA is a double pleasure. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Howard you are an extremely talented couple. Debbie S.

ReplyDeleteKids Car Beds
Hi Tina! I'm a big fan of yours and also Mr. & Mrs. Howard!
ReplyDeleteSo hard to choose only one piece of furniture in the Sherrill Furniture line but I love the Montclair chaise! I can just envision myself sitting in that beautiful piece of furniture reading your blog!
Thanks for your great taste!
Tamara
Would love to win the book. The chaise Montcliar H510Z in pale blue would be my choice as it could be so versatile and put a different room as the mood took me to move furniture around.
ReplyDeleteI have subscribed to Phoebe’s blog and look forward to lots of great decorating tips. Thanks for the link.
Best wishes.
Lesley H
I would love any piece in the collection. I am a long time fan of the Howards and subscribe to their blog. I would have loved to have heard them speak! Thanks for the opportunity! Susan
ReplyDeleteTina...I already have the book...which she signed for me last year at a show house so don't include me in this giveaway....I just wanted to say we both share a love for The Howard's. Their style reminds me so much of the beautiful traditional feel of your home. I don't think there is one of those images I have not pinned and when I need inspiration I take a trip over to their showroom and drool......if you do come to Atlanta one day I would love to take you there:)
ReplyDeleteI love Sherrill furniture! The three pieces I own are my absolute favorites. The new collection by the Howards is phenomenal...very classic with a touch or modern and whimsy. I love the South Hampton Poster Bed and Stanford Buffet, but when I came across the Jetson Ottoman it screamed at me. This piece is so simple and versatile, but most of all it reminds me of something I would find in my grandparents home.
ReplyDeleteLove love the Dean Chair!
ReplyDeleteI subscribed to Mrs. Howard's Blog.
ReplyDeleteLove everything that Phoebe does, she has a discerning eye as a collector and for her showroom! I have just subscribed!
ReplyDeleteThe Chaise is gorgous with rolled arms. It looks comfy to read of relax on.
I would love to have her book to enjoy!!

Oh, how fun to meet the design duo behind all that gorgeousness, you lucky girl! I agree, a soft cloud is the perfect description for the beautiful spaces they create. That last photo was actually the inspiration for my own bedroom, and there is no more restful place for me. We've been traveling for more than two weeks and last night was first night in my own bed - it was wonderful to return to my own little soft cloud. I hope you have a beautiful weekend, Tina! XOXO
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful profile on the Howard's, and the beautiful examples of their work and line. The rooms and furniture look so cosy, elegant, comfortable and welcoming! Have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteLove the Howards! I have the book and agree is beautiful. How incredible that you got to meet them!
ReplyDeleteTruly a lovely, lovely eye appealing book and a charming couple. Loved all the blues, blue greys, especially that second bath, loved the white kitchen...so spacious and invititng. The Montclaeie Chaise caught my eye as I have always desired to own one and this one beacons to me. I also liked the Cathedral Sofa, but perfer love seat size better for our needs. Also liked the Neas Sofa and another item that drew me in was that the furniture is made in Hickory, N.C. and that is where my mother was born and how often we went to visit aunts, uncles and cousins and yearly to family reunions. I do believe this book has *should* have my name on it.
ReplyDeleteI truly love all your posts, your home and all the beautiful things you sell; however at my age I do not honestly NEED anything but still love a number of items. My first visit to your blog was the all blue one and I have been a captive every since. Back to the book another tidbit...it is about Southern comfort and another reason why My name will be drawn, n'est ce pas?
With gratitude,
Sylvia Faye
Now I will check out their blog......
I have just put Phoebe's blog as a favorite and sent it also to a friend. I also sent their furniture site to many family members. WHAT an enjoyable blog to visit+++

ReplyDeleteBack from looking at their beautiful new collection, love the Montclaire Chaise!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite item is that gorgeous London dining table, I would love to have that for my own dining room (we are redoing it next month) so will have to keep that table in mind. Thank you!

I love the Quincy Console and the Paris chair---both are just beautiful and so classic but with an "edge". I would love her book--she is a marvelous decorator! PJKINATL@HOTMAIL.COM
ReplyDeleteI have been a long time fan of Mr and Mrs Howard's beautiful work. Their rooms are so beautiful and tranquil and can " take me away." I would love to be able to add their beautiful new book to my collection. I visited their website and love the linen colored Throw back wing chair as I have been on the lookout for a beautiful one such as that. I am also following their site. Thanks for offering this beautiful new book to one of us luck ones out here.
