Style on Sunday

Hi there. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Ours has been quite relaxing, it was so nice to have some much needed downtime! Dinner out, a little retail therapy, a movie (do not waste your money on The Family....couldn't wait for it to end, brutally bad). Went to my sons football game, they lost the game the last 37 seconds of the game after being ahead the entire time..brutal! I have to admit I love the excitement over football, and of course all the "perks" the tailgating, the socialization aspect, the food, the adrenaline rush when its a close game, the food...oh yea I  mentioned that but lets just say I have a a lot and I do emphasize a lot to learn. My friends were trying to give me a crash course in football yesterday on the bleachers, and lets just say we laughed more than I learned.....so its a work in progress!

My son is a lacrosse player and always played soccer but after years of talking him out of football, he finally won this year, I must admit it is fun to watch and can be really exciting (when no ones on the ground that is) so my mission this week is to give myself a quick crash course in football plays and an elementary understanding of the game. A very elementary...as in kindergarten:)

Anywho, moving along......have been cleaning out my closet and talk about work, its like the bottomless pit. I look at things wondering why I hang onto them and then I look at the size, a size 4....no way is that going in the dump pile, its a reminder of what I was and something to strive for. Might be in my next life but what the heck. So all this cleaning out and reorganizing has me on a bit of a fashion kick and since I like to switch things up with my blog and include fashion...today features a few fashion boards I made up just to show ways to wear one thing a few different ways. Gray pants, camel pants, a simple leather skirt and weekend dressing. The common denominator is neutrals here, which is typically how I dress 95% of the time. They go a looooong way. Hope you enjoy.......

Weekend dressing. For me casual comfy but chic. Notice my new Annabel Ingall totes are very present here, they are so chic and yet practical....in every color. A simple pair of straight jeans or pants, a cute jacket or vest, chunky sweater, love my scarves, and flats or riding boots is  a great way to approach weekend dressing....

Black leather skirt. Do you own one? In my big closet cleanup, I found one from long ago and its actually a really pretty simple straight black skirt, so I started thinking about ways to reinvent it and here are a few ideas, one very casual daytime look and one evening look, ooh la la......

Camel pants. I love the combination of gray and camel. Always have. I have these exact DKNY straight camel pants and came up with a casual and evening look for them. Take a look......

Gray pants. Same deal with these gray pants. A slim fit so can be tucked into riding pants, but dressed up for evening too, love the idea of a belted coat like this one.......

So there you go. What do you think? How do you like to dress on weekends? I get excited over a new season and especially fall clothes....whats not to love, all those sumptuous knits, it's the official season of cozy ! And speaking of cozy, I am super excited about a new introduction to my online shop later this week, here is a sneak peek of the most wonderful, super high quality, made in the USA, alpaca capes and scarves, LOVE these........

Now if those won't get you excited about fall dressing, don't know what will! Enjoy your Sunday and end to your weekend. Thanks as always for stopping in!

  1. Tina! You have me wanting to run to my closet to see how many of these looks I can copy. Your take on dressing is as beautiful as your take on design. Love your blog, you gave me a few good ideas for MY weekend outfit:-)

  3. Love all of your picks! Is there a way to find out who makes the sweaters in the weekend board?

  4. TINA! Love every item you have shared here; I am a gray lover and also the beige. Black is a must with a red or blue scarf to brighten it up, and of course, gotta have the boots! Today is a cool day and my husband's birthday; we are going right now to the lakes and walk to view the châteaux, get a little treat then retreat back here for a cozy day. Sending you wishes for a fabulous fall Sunday! Anita

  5. Love the beautiful outfits you've put together! Living in southwest Florida, where the weather is pretty much hot all year round, I really miss wearing lovely layers of winter clothing! Gym shorts and tee shirts just aren't that stylish! (At-home wear only!) A simple pair of cotton pants and a pretty top is about all I can do right now. Even a summer sweater or scarf is unacceptable, except in an air-conditioned building. So I'll enjoy your gorgeous clothing by proxy!

  6. Tina if home design gets boring you could easily become a stylist. Love your chic approach to everything you do and love every one of these boards, so much the way I love to dress too.

Tina, Love your new scarf and wrap line, I always wear a cozy scarf in the winter.
Editing my closet as well. I gave my Mother many size 4 pieces and she looks great in them. The ones she would not wear (some Escada, Victor Costa, Valentino, St John I have taken to Her Majesty's Closet. (some of these are now Vintage!!)Those are the days! I am now generally a size 8 and really more comfortable in my own skin, more womanly somehow, interesting....

  12. Beautiful style boards Tina. Seattle's temps will drop beginning this month and I'm ready to pull out my fall and winter clothes. To work I'll be wearing camel and black pencil skirts or gray or black slacks with a blouse. Around town it will be jeans or leggings with ridding boots or booties and lots of sweaters (cashmere;) and vest. I also wear casual distressed jeans with an alternative style cotton top with a leather jacket. This is my CA, west coast influence:) Enjoy your Sunday and glad you are getting some R&R ~

  14. Tina- love your style. I just cleaned out my closets and have a hard time throwing things out because my parents couldn't afford to buy us nice clothing when I was younger. As for the size 4, don't worry about it! Dress for your body and exercise. I'm a zero and still not satisfied:) L-Ann

  17. Just love the new scarves/ wraps you will start carrying. When? That is so my way of dressing, my husband calls me layers as a nickname for all the layering I do!

Love your take on fall dressing, elegant but still so comfortable looking, a great way to jazz up the basics. Thanks Tina!

  18. Love the ruanas & scarves, and those Missoni flats in the 1st collage. In fact, I adore the way you put all these outfits together. I have a pair of Missoni flats in blue/beiges/whites, I'm sure I will wear them out completely. Now I'm going to scour around for your color. love you...

  19. oh, i love jeans/boots/ sweater/scarf. Throw on some classic jewelry and you have an outfit. Send me your size "4"s- I am no longer a size 2 and have nothing to wear that does not make me feel like a sausage. ;-)

  20. I have 4 sizes in my closet: two that have 1 digit and two that have 2 digits. Guess which ones I wear?? Love your selection of fall clothes. Definitely my style. Sista keeps telling me I need to get busy and buy warm clothes since I am moving to cold climate. It's hard to shop when it's 92 degrees. Thanks for the great ideas!

  23. I love the outfits you came up with. I would never have thought to pair gray with camel, but I really like it. Thanks for the inspiration. By the way, do you make your fashion boards using Polyvore? I've been trying to figure out the best way to do it.
