Good Monday morning and Happy Columbus day to you! Hope you had a splendid weekend. Ours was quiet and low key, and frankly it was a nice break after a very long and arduous weekend.
Ahhh..that front door. The very first thing that gives you your first impression of someones home. What does the front door say about you? If its a funky color, does that mean that you have  wild side or  throw caution to the wind and know how to let loose, does black mean you tend to be serious and formal, a rustic wooden door make you casual and easy going?

I wonder just how  much we can read into ones front door and how they choose to or not to adorn it. So today....we are looking at 18 gorgeous front doors, each definitely with their own "personality". If you had to choose one of these front doors, which most reflects your style and personality? I cannot wait to hear! So here we go.......

So which of these beauties opens the door to your heart and makes it sing? Would you ever paint your door a fun and vibrant color? I read about a woman who paints her door every season, for winter its bright green, for spring a pale pink for summer a turquoise blue and for fall a burnt orange! Now there's someone who knows how to enjoy and embrace the seasons! Cannot wait to see which comes out on top.......this will be interesting! Wishing you a fabulous day.

  1. Any of these doors would be amazing, but I am going to go with Choice 3 only because we plan to have a similar door on our home. We too have had some busy weekends, and I am ready for a few of those low key days. Have a great Monday. - Tonya

  2. All great choices but I would have to pick number 2 but I would add some kind of foliage outside. We just painted our front door a burnt autumn orange and I love it.

    Happy Monday!

  3. Wow never seen so many beautiful front doors in one place. 8 is most like ours right now but I have to say number 12 is incredible. So 12 would be my choice today, since we are dreaming....why not! Hope you have a better Monday today than last!

  4. I would say #9. I'd be a little worried about the plants blocking the light inside, but just form looking at the outsides, #9 for sure (I have to throw a worry into everything!!) Did I tell you yet how much I love your new header!?

  5. Good morning Ms. Tina,

    Love your fall banner!

How to chose? But there is something about no. 4. The lanterns and the light blue shutters. Classy with a little unexpected twist.

No, I have not forgotten you. Expect an e-mail.

    Love to you.

  10. Way too many beautiful ones, I don't think theres a bad one in the bunch. But something about 15 and 16 really draw me in. I am considering painting my front door black so this image I most show my husband to convince him!

  11. I don't why but I love 13 even if you can see into the house too much. Lovely and remind me of European doors.

  17. I can't choose, as I love them all!

Thanks for the fantasy shopping trip, though.
Think it's time to paint the trim on our glass
front doors, which is white. It is also framed
in white, so I think a shot of color would be nice : )

    Happy Monday, Tina!

  21. Oh what fun! My favorite is number 14 - I also love 6, 8, 9 and 13. But if I had to pick the one that reflected my personality... I think number 1 - always trying to put a positive, sunny vibe out to the world, not too fussy, lots going on - perhaps a little too exuberant. But hopefully always welcoming.
Great post idea, Tina. Love it! We just painted our door a dark grey blue - I need to post a photo once I have my pumpkins settled on the doorstep.
    Happy Monday! XO

  22. OH DEAR.....3, 16, 17 I have to say! That first one, number 3 just speaks to me; I love WHITE flowers against wood, but then the sparkle of 16 and of course the coolness of 17's aqua surprise made this a hard one!

HAPPY DAY TINA and I can't wait for next Monday! Anita

  23. I love 1 and 6! Surprising really because I do not like yellow.

I think they are all beautiful and unique. And they have given me a few ideas.

I hope you have a fabulous week! So happy you had a leisurely weekend, I am sure there were some tasty treats made, perhaps a good book read, and a few walks with your cute Teddy.

    Have a wonderful day, Elizabeth

  37. I was waiting and waiting to see a door similar to my own front door and #17 comes the closest!! I have a full French door for my front door and it was a dream come true to get it. My contractor thought I was nuts and every one asked me if I was sure?!! Oh you bet I am sure. After it was installed, all agreed it was the perfect choice for our little California Ranch!! Fun post!! Happy Monday!

  38. I LOVE the yellow door...so happy and welcoming with the lovely geraniums...does not look like a fortress....makes me wonder what is inside to continue the good feelings! My homeowner's association does not allow colors on the doors so I painted mine black and they have not noticed (it was a reddish brown before, ugly) put big pots of bougainvillea on either side with a big wooden angel...it all looks pretty cool...Robbin

  43. 6 is so sophisticated and welcoming for me.

you may remember we have rather dramatic arched walnut front doors which i love. but i appreciate so many different styles so for our next project i am sure we will choose another.

  45. I have to say a close runner up is 6, I would have never thought about gray but its beautiful. And with our very strict assocation I think they would allow a great door, has me thinking!

  53. First of all, I absolutely love your header! I love that the photos/banner fits the season! How inspiring! I cannot choose! Too many wonderful choices!!! This is not my absolute favorite, but I will choose #18 because it is similar to the era of the home we are trying to purchase at this time! I, too, have read about the woman who changed her door color with the season! I actually love the idea! You never know........... xo

  54. Choice 14 is absolutley for blue and white lovers like us. I think Carolyne Roehm would agree.

  56. Where's your front door? That's the one I'd be choosing..... but if I had to choose from the list provided;4 or 15. 'My door' would say....I'm organised, like things to be balanced, lean towardds more traditional style of design and decorating.... in a word classic. I never really thought about a front door saying so much.....

    ReplyDelete
  57. So agree how a front door tells us a little about the personality of those living there. My sister has a lime green front door which actually looks really pretty on her historic home but really reflects her fun loving, energetic personality. My front door is black which does ironically reflect back on me, I am more serious, somewhat formal...interesting because I never really thought about it that way before.
All these doors are gorgeous but my favorites are a toss up between two of them....3 and 8. Love both of them.

  58. omg! I love all the doors but for some reason number #3, 14 and 15 were just calling to me. SO if I had all 3 put together that would be more my style:)
Hope you are doing well Tina, been a very long time since I last wrote here:) good to be back though:)

  63. Hi Tina!

    So many lovely choices
but for me it would be #9.
    Formal perfection.

I do also love the surround

moldings --- have to love Chinese
    Chippendale details.

  64. Hi Tina!!

Hope your committee meeting went well today, as well as your son's SAT prep.

I have been in a complete gray phase lately....I know, it seems trendy, but I'm kind of loving it. So, I'm going to go against my typical ideal and say #6! :)

    xoxo Elizabeth

  65. All gorgeous doors but #8 with that gorgeous turquoise door and classical Georgian porch just made me feel so happy. A close second was #14 which also had goergeous Georgian details but the blue wasn't quite as lovely. My own door and all wood trim on the house is a soft French Blue but not the grey sort.

  66. Oh, my!!! I can't choose just one. I love them all. I'm in the market for a new front door. Something on which to put an antique door knocker that I found last year. Therefore, if I had to choose it would be one with space for a door knocker. I'll be referring back to this post many times I'm sure.

  67. All take you in to a different feel of the season. I loved 3 and 9. I imagine standing in the front door-looking for my keys and just indulging in the fragrance of all the lovely foliage. I imagine it gets great sun and it feels so good on your back. Lovely-just lovely. Thank you for sharing.
