Speaking of books, last night ordered two new design books...have you gotten either? Have all of Charles and Betty Lou's books so happy to add these to my growing collection......
Posted about these before, and I must say they are heavenly good, worth posting about again..trust me! I am not saying they are diet friendly but I am saying they are what I would call
"comfort cookies" :)
Ingredients for Pistachio cream cheese cookies
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 3 ounce package cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons finely shredded orange or lemon peel (optional)
1/2 cup finely chopped lightly salted pistachio nuts
In a large bowl, combine butter and cream cheese. Beat with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add powdered sugar, baking powder, and salt. Beat until combined, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in egg and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Using a wooden spoon, stir in any remaining flour. If desired, stir in orange peel.
Divide dough in half. Shape each half into a 7-1/2-inch-long roll (about 1-1/2 inches in diameter). Roll in pistachio nuts. Wrap each roll in plastic wrap or waxed paper. Chill about 1 hour or until dough is firm enough to slice. Or freeze dough for up to 2 months.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cut rolls into 1/4-inch slices. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 7 to 9 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Transfer to a wire rack; cool. Makes about 44 cookies.
Are you a makeup junkie? I am a former makeup hoarder. I used to buy it all the time, multiples and forget when I actually loved something......I bought them by the 3's and 4's to be assured I would not run out. I take the "high-low" approach, some things I spend a lot on because I feel its worth it, other things not as much. Was at a bookclub meeting and one of the girls brought a friend who was visiting her for the week who is an actress, she shared a few secrets from the makeup artists that she's worked with, one of which was the new mascara by Maybelline "Falsises"....so naturally I had to try it. Well shes right, its awesome! I was using Dior and Borghese's mascaras both which I liked, but this one I like even better and its a third of the price. So...worth checking out.
This is a big one, 50 oz of heaven
This one even bigger, a new one 60 oz!
All three of these are the minis........
Also the gorgeous chargers that I had gotten in sold out right away. I unexpectedly got in a small batch. Announcing it here first, its first come first serve. They are sold in sets of 4's. I have approx 24 pieces. The prices are about 35% less than they are being sold for in many fine boutiques. Talk about dressing up a table!! Contact me here if you are interested.

Charger 2
Charger 3
Last bit of store biz....so excited to be carrying this fabulous line of monogrammed soaps, barware and cutting boards! You know I love a monogram on anything so this is very fitting for me to carry this line! Awesome for gifts and equally fab gift for yourself. Great price points (I will discount approx. 15% off retail). Best part...they turn these around in approx. 48 hours and are shipped directly to you! Doesnt' get better than that! Here is a sneak peek at some of the fabulous items. Hope to have them up and for sale next week!
Finally on Belle on Heels yesterday, I announced a bread board giveaway! One lucky person will win it...all you need to do to be eligible is visit my shop and come back here and tell me a favorite item. Rememember, if you sign in as anonymous I have no way of knowing who you are...you must leave a first name and last initial. Ditto for those with just a first name, please include in your comment your last name initial. I will announce a winner on Friday! So that wraps it up for today..........
Good luck and wishing you a fabulous day!! Thanks for stopping in.
Bom dia, que lindo esse prato de madeira, uma massa fica mais saborosa neste prato.

Tina speaking of great design books YOU should put one out, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Your home makes me drool, every single inch of it. The bathrooms are perfection. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThe cookie recipe looks sinfully good and love all the new exciting things coming into your shop. I would love a dough bowl and these look so pretty, I will email you.
Favorite item from your shop is any of the silver planters or an etched belljar for my new powder room.
I am dying to see your bathroom wallpaper when it is up - so elegant and it's funny how you need to see the pictures over and over to notice all of you beautiful details. The faucet is gorgeous! Love the bread board and the dough bowls are a favorite. They both add warmth to what I love - an all white kitchen. Happy Wednesday, Tina!
ReplyDeleteWhere do I begin? LOVE your bathrooms, and that silver planter is so beautiful. The onyx is very rich.
ReplyDeleteAll the new products are fantastic, the mongram soap is such a great and personalized gift. I would defintiely order those. Dough bowls are so great looking too.
I feel obliged to make the cookies:-) My husband LOVES pistachio anything, and these would make him one happy man.

About our store, I'm always taking a look and loving what you choose. There's nothing I'd have it at my own place. The cow creamer made me laugh. How cute is that?!!! :-)

Your blog is just so full of interesting finds and beautiful things! I do love the dough bowls from your shop. Thanks so much for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMaggie
Your powder room is wonderful. I love the way the pattern meanders over the walls. Some folks dislike wallpapers but I adore the interest they bring to a room. Sweet settee. I love visiting your blog.
ReplyDelete~ ~Ahrisha~ ~
Love your blog and the shop has everything I would enjoy owning! For now, I'd have to choose the number 2 charger as they would look so beautiful on my holiday table.
ReplyDeleteLove, love the wallpaper. Looks fantastic! I just saw Charles book yesterday....I think it is his best one yet!
ReplyDeleteThe wallpaper looks GREAT! as always;-) While looking at the shop, it reminded me of being a youngster looking at the Christmas catalogs. Love the 2 cherubs playing. We are in the process of building a new enclosed porch and what a terrific focal point it would be looking out the windows!
ReplyDeleteYour powder room as well as your entire home is breathtaking! I love the white washed corbel and hope you will add more corbels to your online store. I love the monogrammed linens and so many other items too. I would definitely enjoy a bread board for entertaining in my kitchen!
ReplyDeleteThe shop has so many great things. Of course everyone loves the bowls, and you already know I am a fan of the salt and pepper shakers, especially the polo players. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteTina
ReplyDeleteWhat's not to love! Your taste is so me but you really know how to put things together. Reading your blog has taught me so much.
Thanks for sharing with me. Would also love to know the prices of your porcelain pieces. Love, love, love everyone of them.
Have a great day and thank you.

I love the monogrammed soaps. They would go very well with the monogrammed guest towels. I also love the crystal bell chandeliers. Would love to win the bread board. Hope I win!
ReplyDeleteIt's always hard to pick out just one thing from your shop! I always check out the lighting section and my favorite is the Diamond Etched glass.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the chargers are to die for.
love the new items!
sharyn
It's the powder room drapes that are either mine or very close to mine in my living room! I love them with that wall paper! I love your guest bath so, so much! I love the tile on the bottom half of the wall! It's stunning! Thanks for the mascara tip! I'm so tired of buying Chanel and it seems to run out in about 2 weeks! I'm buying falsies today! Ha ha! All of your gift items are wonderful! I'm dying to find some good pewter chargers to carry as well! Thanks for all of these lovely things to look at! I love your musings! have a wonderful wednesday!
ReplyDeleteI love the canvas with the Springers. I have two old sisters that are 14 and "hanging in there". I also think the new nut dished with the acorn and squirrel are adorable! Can't wait for fall.
ReplyDeleteFunny about the mascara, I spend a fortune on makeup but do not for mascara, think its a crock. I buy Maybelline and Loreal and they work great, I will have to try this one.
ReplyDeleteYour taste is absolutely flawless, your bathrooms and home are worthy of their own coffee table book. It was such a smart move to open a shop, because so many admire your taste that it allows everyone to have a little bit of you in their own homes. I love the blue and whites I bought from you and the linens. I would definitely buy the soaps and candles, and really want a dough bowl, its next on my list.
Thanks for the time and love you pour into your incredible blog, it is the first thing I look to see when I sign onto my computer every morning, hard to imagine a morning not visiting you. You are like a friend!
Cindy R.
Oh my, picking a favorite is hard! I love the blue and white stuff and the candles. Great giveaway!

ReplyDeleteYour powder room is stunning! And can't wait to see the finished back bathroom and guest room, which will be beautiful as well. The European bread boards are my favorite thing in your shop, and I would love to win one! Thanks for doing this give-away.
ReplyDeleteThe chargers are one of my favorites
ReplyDelete(already ordered one set). Also love
all the blue and white's.

Tina,
ReplyDeleteHello!
Your bathroom is stunning! I love everything! As you said the wait was worth it to get exactly what you want.
I cannot wait to see the hall bath finished. Where is that wall paper hanger.
I have not read your book suggestion, will have to look into that but have ordered the Faudree book.
As for your cookie recipe, I made those so many times after you mentioned them last year! I LOVE them! They are fabulous.
As for all of your new items they are beautiful! I love the dough bowl, they are my favorite things in your store.
Have a great week, Elizabeth
Love reading your blog and looking at pictures of your beautiful home. Love those Gardenia candles and have one in my home now! The bread boards are fabulous and one would look perfect in my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteHi Tina,
ReplyDeleteAs someone who's opening a storefront in October, I scratch my head and say, "I think Tina has it right!". Actually, I can't wait, but you've certainly got a knack for putting it all together! Well done...if I haven't already said that!
Hi Tina!
ReplyDeleteOk telling you just one thing won't work for me! I Cruz the store weekly drooling! Love the new silver charges!
Well, I love all the wooden dough bowls and I also really like the wooden slab with feet. Love your blog!
ReplyDeletePlease enter me for your bread board give-away!
ReplyDeleteI love your statuary and planters. I especially like seeing how
you incorporate them into your home.
Martha F.
You make it very difficult to say which of your products is a favorite because all are beautiful. You have done a remarkable job of finding exquisite products. However, after saying all that, I am drawn to the dough bowls because that fits my particular decor! Thank you for the effort you put into your blog. I can not even image the time it takes to put it together for all of us to enjoy. Jpsc@cox.net
ReplyDeleteTina, I love all your wooden wares, especially the olive trays. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDebbie A.
Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteI just love reading your blog! It is fun and inspiring. Thank you for always sharing the beauty of your home and of course all the recipes! My favorite items in your shop probably are the silver cachepots and trays. By the way, I agree with an earlier post in that YOU put out a design book! How wonderful that would be!
Gorgeous dough boards, coasters, and candles.. keep it coming Tina! Your powder rooms are perfect as is the fabric on your pillows. I need to order those design books! Thanks for sharing..

Thanks, I thin, for the cookie recipe...they look amazing.
Of course you always have such great taste so no surprise we like the same books again (wink).
Hope your week is wonderful, my friend,

What a fun post full of beauty and inspiration. Your bathrooms make me weak at the knees, they are SO beautiful.

I love the dough bowls and that's what would pick. I've always wanted one!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and store!
Read your blog ALWAYS....I want to thank you for sharing your home. What comes through is your delightful personality. Spent quite a bit of time in your shop and love all. Since I bake, I loved the long dough bowl and bread bowls. Charlotte O.
ReplyDeleteTina, there is so much to comment on here, but I find myself stuck on those pistachio cream cheese cookies. Yes, please! Your house is coming along beautifully! Don't you just hate it when you fall in love with a fabric only to find it back-ordered (or even worse discontinued). There was snow on the ground when I was choosing fabric for our living room, dining room and family room window coverings... and they just went up this week. Sigh. But, I have to say, now that they are here it was worth the wait! Store looks great and I think that the AP08 candlesticks would be perfect on my mantel and the AP35 ginger jar would be at home in my master bath! Happy Wednesday!!! XOXO
ReplyDeleteYour shop items are divine and your home, well, absolutely beautiful. Thank you for doing this blog. Love the bread board too, and those bowls... Cheri D

Love seeing all the progress with the powder rooms! The flowers in the silver bowl along with the beautiful array of soaps are the perfect touch to an elegant room! Have to look into the Faudree book as he is one of my favorite designers! It's exciting to see what you are adding to your store. The chargers are wonderful and the monogrammed soaps with such a speedy turnaround time are fantastic! I have to say I really love everything in your store... but for starters the silver vintage trophy/flower bowl and the blue and white octagonal ginger jars are my current favorites! Lisa L.
ReplyDeleteI love the dough bowls in your shop. The silver is enticing too. Sign me up for the give away bread board.

I have to say i love the way you understand when to be formal and when to be more casual with checked fabric and material mix . The mix of patterns and textures for the power room are beyond great
ReplyDeletebut my favorite is the kitchen bathroom ... i dont know why ... normally I am not a gold/yellow person ...but i love love the mix of materials and patterns here .... so fresh and classic at the same time
Congratulations on getting the bathroom done, the onyx countertop looks beautiful in that setting. The wallpaper you picked out is lovely, you have a great eye for wall coverings. Love the guest room choices as well. You will laugh, but I put a hold on the Richard Russo book yesterday, I have to pick it up at the library!
ReplyDeleteSending you a smile,

Got the new Charles Faudree book, its amazing, I think his best yet.
Thanks for the generous giveaway, would love to win. Emailed you about the dough bowl, I am interested in 2, one for me and one for my sister as a housewarming gift.
Thanks Tina.
PS Your guest room is going to be soooo beautiful. Your guests may not want to leave.
ReplyDeleteLove everything in your shop, but I'm really loving the warmth of the dough bowls and bread boards right now-ready for fall! And please, can I come stay in your beautiful guest room when it's finished?? Michelle S.
ReplyDeleteThe silver container with flowers is now on my wish list - I love the look.
ReplyDeleteThe monogram soaps and cutting board {one for the kitchen and one for the grill area} will be in my shopping cart. Love them!
My Daughter is a makeup artist and she got me hooked on Rimmel mascara.... the big apple green tube. My lashes were coming out because my expensive mascara was drying them. The $10 Rimmel has collagen builder in it - my eye lashes are fuller and longer than they have ever been.
So hard to choose just one thing! I love Mabel, but I totally love the napkin holder sized silver tray... I think it might be sold out and also would be thrilled to own any dough bowl and bavarian bread board. I'd then just need you to come over and cook and present the items, so I could host an awesome party.
ReplyDeleteI would have a hard time choosing, but I love those Spanish olive trays. I can think of many ways to use them in my kitchen and for casual entertaining!
ReplyDeleteLori A.
Tina, everything here is so lovely!! I can not wait to see more of your guest room!
ReplyDeleteStacy
I have always loved wood dough bowls and the large one in your shop is beautiful. Thanks for a wonderful giveaway. BTW, I am a mascara junkie having tried every brand on the market. I have tried " Falsies", but the absolute best is "they're real" by Benefit.
ReplyDeleteHello Tina,
ReplyDeleteYour powder room looks just as lovely as I imagined now that it is put together... the wallpaper is a favourite of mine...
As for the goodies in your shop... love the candles and the monogrammed items... and those chargers look completely wonderful...

ReplyDeleteB. Charles
Oh my Tina, you make my eyes water, your house is so beautiful. That wallpaper, which as you picked I saw in NY last year and I've never forgotten, it's so divine. Your choices and selections are perfect and it's really going to be the most beautiful bathroom. Makes mine look Mickey Mouse in comparison. So pining for that trip to the US next year, and will be inviting myself to visit, so be warned!
ReplyDeleteWhile I visit your shop quite often and drool over everything in it, I am especially loving FABULOUS SHOWSTOPPING LARGE PLANTER Item number SW05. Would love to have a plant in it at my house. Really love the new pics of your house. Thanks for sharing. Linda R (Phila burbs) ps - it was nice to read recently that you have been in my area~! welcome!
ReplyDeleteLet me count all the things I love here, love falsies, LOVE your bathrooms (so gorgeous), love the new products, all the monogrammed goods and beautiful crystal urns with candles, love Charles Faudree anyhting, love the cookie recipe but afaid to make it, I might eat the entire batch! I love how you share about so many different things and love the pewter chargers. From your store I love the silver planter S008 and would love two for my dining room.
ReplyDeleteMostly what I love is your blog, it is the highlight of my morning!
That's it, it's been decided. I'm coming to live indefinitely in your guest room...tee hee. I will pay rent and be quiet, you won't even know I'm there-except those delicious cookies will magically disappear from the kitchen island when you leave the room.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple books by Betty Lou Phillips, they are great.
LOVE that powder room!!!!
I tried Falsies and several other high end mascaras. My favorites our drugstore: Loreal Lash Out and High End: Laura Mercier Full Blown Mascara
Make up junkie? Yeah, that's me.
Deb xoxo
I covet all items in the European Kitchen line with my absolute fav being the wood bowls.

Your powder room is gorgeous! Love the chinnoisserie wallpaper and honey onyx counter. Those wooden bowls are fabulous. ReplyDeleteI love all the new things coming in and would order the monogrammed goodies during the holidays. I love my dough bowl that I got from you and just filled it with lemons and limes on my counter, it looks so beautiful.
I have to say your lanterns and pheasant pillows are my next favorite thing and on my wish list now that we are settling in.
The cookies look too good to not make, cream cheese and pistachio, how can you go wrong!
Please count me in for the giveaway. Thank you.
My favorites are the dough bowls as well as the chargers. Is this where I respond for the bread boards give away?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Ann T.
I love the updates on your powder room. I adore the dough bowls and your needle point pillows in your store.
ReplyDeleteThe powder room is stunning and I really like both the paper and the gold planter in the back again shower.
ReplyDeleteThe powder is absolutely as lovely as can be! And all the new items in your store are too! On the make-up front: I used to buy only very expensive make-up and apply it very carefully. Now I buy some that's less expensive as I've read and discovered that the packaging is the only difference sometimes. I also take one third the time to apply it as I used to. Now that I'm in my 40s my priorities and interests have changed so much!
ReplyDeletewell....i am completely flipping over the first images paper.
ReplyDeleteit is beyond spectacular!!
The paper in the powder room is just gorgeous. That's all I can say! Love the silver piece on the counter top and the toile and plaid fabric is perfect. Can't wait to see the finished project.
ReplyDeleteSince I am about to embark and making a strange space in my home into an office/study for myself I was thinking a bell jar astern would be a perfect way to dress up the space so for me it has to be the.......Ribbon with etching bell jar lantern!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree I love the wallpaper for the powder room....beautiful!!!
Your powder room is going to be gorgeous...love your beautiful silk draperies too...Lot's of fun new additions to your store...you are going to have a fantastic holiday season...When do you find time to read?...Would love to read that book. We are hoping to get away either in November...or right after Christmas...maybe then...It's almost the weekend...have a great one. Mona
ReplyDeleteI love the monogrammed linens!
ReplyDeleteklchr at hotmail dot com
The powder room is gorgeous, the wallpaper is so amazing, really makes the room sing! For your giveaway, there is no way to really ever choose a favorite item, so many wonderful things, but I do favor the ever classic blue and white ginger jars with the lids.
ReplyDelete-Mary C
your wallpaper is to die for! I am not usually a fan of wallpaper but yours has changed my mind! Your powder room will be absolutely stunning. The toile and check fabrics are wonderful I have been coveting your dressage and horse bit napkin rings for a while. the problem with your store is I can't ever decide! You have such impeccable taste.
ReplyDeleteTina, I know you have posted it, but what is your kitchen floor and the type of marble in your kitchen. Also, you posted a few online marble resources, I ordered a few samples today from one....did you use them in your house and for what and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the mascare tip. Have a lovely weekend.
Tina,
ReplyDeleteHello! I was wondering where you have been. But I can see from your blog that between the house projects, Teddy's injuries, travel, your store which is fabulous and life that you do not seem to have a minute to yourself! Thank you for stopping by. I do hope that you make the French Onion soup, it is so good. Everyone that has had it said it is the best they have ever had. Frankly anything that I have made or modified from Americas Test kitchen is delicious.
Let me know if you make it, after the first two hours in the oven, the next 30 minutes are a little time consuming but worth it.
I hope you have a great weekend. Looking forward to more of your fabulous adventures in decorating.
Elizabeth
