Hi, hope everyone had a safe and happy July 4th! Well, I feel quite well rested having been at the beach for a few days..it was a nice break to do absolutely nothing but meet up with friends, indulge in a lobster eating binge on July 4th, take long strolls on the beach, kick back and just hang.....I am so relaxed and at my absolute best by the beach, how about you? What is your favorite place and where are you most at peace? What did you do for July 4th, anything worth talking about? Our weather despite a mixed forecast turned out to be spectacular, just a perfect way to spend July 4th.....You know I always like to include some pictures from the beach so here they are........
And of course you know I love my trips to the local farm stand where natures bounty is as its best.....
A sure sign we are on our way.......the inevitable traffic jam!
And of course the gorgeous water all around you....
Patriotism was abound all over the Hamptons!
But best part is finally arriving after sitting in a few hours of traffic!
And a perfect summer sunset to be enjoyed on the deck.....
Also thought I would share with you some of the beautiful with a capital B urns and planters I received last week. Some for me and a some were orders. I LOVE this line that I carry and am going to definitely expand with what I offer from them in the fall. Check it out.....
Bought some beautiful white/pale pink hydrangeas, wilting away in the sun but nothing a big dose of water can't cure!
Though the square planters that my landscaper insisted I try are not staying,(he said he is picking them up sometime in the next week or two) I placed this lower pretty containers in front and I actually like the way they look, think with a big planter behind it...its quite pretty.
The hydrangea all perked up (this planter is really wide about 26" wide)
And on my console in hallway and console in living room placed these beautiful urns planted with orchids ....
Placed this one on my console in the family room
And by the pool.......this was all part of the original house. We haven't done much here other than clean it up/paint. So for now little touches like planters and such will have to suffice.
This looks so old...and to think I can pick it up with one hand!
Best part is I am going to start adding many of these planters to my existing inventory and will soon be adding them to my online store! Its a very special line and the fact that you can keep these out year round and they look so beautiful makes them a keeper in my book!
And added two very large ginger jars (from my old house) to my living room console....me likey!
With lights on!
Which lacrosse tournament? My hubby may be there!
ReplyDeleteLove the Easthampton pics...we actually toyed with the idea of going there for our anniversary trip, but decided to just go crazy and head to Napa instead :) Hope you had a terrific 4th!
First I have to say, your home is just so beautiful. I love coming to visit and see what new touches you are putting on the house and gardens. I have to agree about the new planters looking great with the square ones, great layering. The new planters are just perfect, I am looking for just that type for my back deck.
ReplyDeleteI concur with Awal above, oh my, your home is exquisite and what a fabulous touch those urns and ginger jars add! So glad you got to the beach! It is my favorite place on earth, and I am heading back to the Eastern Shore today for the weekend. I cannot wait to just stare at the ocean! Have a great week.

I love the beach!! I think a more rounded, large planter will be perfect with the smaller ones. It softens up the squareness of the pillars. Oh, how I wish I could grow orchids. I kill every single one that enters our home!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures of your home...you have such an incredible eye for flowers and accents! Fresh produce is the best...I have also been gobbling up cherries and peaches! xx
ReplyDeleteThe view from your deck overlooking the sea is just fantastic Tina! And back home outside your door, I love the smaller and bigger planter together

Such lovely photos, Tina. The urns are beautiful, but those ginger jars are breathtaking! Enjoy your summer while it lasts!

Tina,
ReplyDeleteThe beach trip sounds relaxing. Happy you had some time to do nothing.
I love the planters! I think the combination of the little and big on your front porch looks very pretty.
Have a great time at the tournament.
Actually, Tina, I quite like the larger square container with the small urns beneath. Really. I think you should keep that going on. Anyway, at Christmas you can light up the tall one & surround it with poinsettia. Love the pics driving out to the Hamptons, believe it or not, I've never been there. I know it must be beautiful. Sending love, honey-bunny....
ReplyDeleteThis post rmade me feel more relaxed... Loved your pictures.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, Tina!

Tina- what a beautiful post. Love your Hamptons pictures, we were in Bridgehampton last year for the annual Hampton Classic (my niece was a participant) and we stayed at a beautiful home her parents rented, I didnt' want to leave, we ate nightly at Pierres and I must say that was one of the highlights of my year, its a special place.
ReplyDeleteYour home never ceases to bowl me over, so spectacular and I love all those new planters, they look so old and stately and to think they are fiberglass is amazing. I cannot wait to get the two little ones I ordered.
Glad you had a nice break, we all owe it to ourselves to take them especially in the summer and those fruits and vegetables are so enticing. Have a nice time this weekend.
I am also most relaxed and peaceful is at the beach. We walked down to the beach and watched the firework from all around.
ReplyDeleteAgain, I have to say your home is gorgeous! I love to see all the beautiful touches that you add to your home. Those round planters looks so pretty with the hydrangeas, I think if works very nicely with the larger square container behind them.
Have a wonderful day!
Oh the Hamptons looks so wonderful, love that place. Its like a little slice of heaven as is your home! Those planters are so beautiful, no wonder you are excited to carry them, they look like they came out of an old estate, and love the pale pink hydrangeas and orchids, you sure have that special touch.
ReplyDeleteWe are off to Cape Cod for the next 5 days to savor a summer that seems to be going by awfully fast. Enjoy your weekend.
These pictures are beautiful. I love all those urns everyone of them is so lovely and the plants in them look great!
ReplyDeleteI live in New Jersey so I enjoyed these pictures very much.
Cynthia
I feel my best at the beach too Tina. Looks like you had perfect weather - we did here too and I was so happy about that - ideal for fireworks, etc.! I love the urns you got in - I think I'll be in the market for some of those in the Fall!
ReplyDeleteTina adore the cherub angel urns! The bench looks so good in the hall balancing out the space!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you enjoyed the 4th Holiday!

I spent the evening before at a lovely ilili lamb roast at Paumanok Vineyards out on in the vines and sunset. I wish I could put on photos, the was beautiful. Ilili is a Restaurant in the city. A perfect blend. The North Fork is so lovely. We live against the vineyard and we also farm our own Oysters in Southold at Cornell. Visit our fork, there is lots too see.

Love anything that looks like aged concrete. These planters are fabulous. At the lake. We are not ready to give the holiday up yet. Glad you had the chance to get away.
ReplyDeleteHi Tina,
ReplyDeleteLove the planters, you make them look so beautiful. This 4th of July we just spent at home, setting off fireworks with our grandson. Although every year I tell the hubby I want to be in New York for the fireworks as I watch them on TV. The Hamptons look so relaxing, so I can certainly see how you would have enjoyed that.
Such gorgeous photos... what a wonderful break... xv
ReplyDeleteYour beach break looks divine! And all of the new planters are BEAUTIFUL!!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteThe hydrangea at your beach house are amazing. I've always wanted to visit the Hamptons, look up Ina Garten and visit the shops! Glad to hear you got a good rest this holiday.
The urns are beautiful, are the concrete, or a light weight composite?
Karen
The photos and the break looks fantastic! Makes me so excited about my vacation in a couple of weeks! Back to reality!! xo
ReplyDeleteTina, what a fun way to spend the 4th! Your hydrangeas are to die for and one of these days I definitely plan to visit the Hamptons! I've always wanted to and it's somewhere we've never been. Your vegetables looked amazing! Was there a dressing on them? I'm starving right now and I could eat that entire plate! Headed to a good lunch at Cochon's though! Our fireworks on the River Walk were amazing last night and just like you we had to doge a few showers in the afternoon but by dinner time it had cooled everything off and was perfect for the 4th of July festivities! Even in the hottest city on earth! ha ha! Glad you had a restful weekend!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I forgot to mention how much I love the planters! It looks like a fabulous line to carry!! I would love them all over my house!
ReplyDeleteAre you saying the planters are FAUX cement???? If so I WANT some!!!! When you said you could pick it up with one hand I was sold:) I have never been to the Hamptons but would LOVE to go. I love all the new touches in the house too. Glad you are feeling relaxed and rested. Our daughter and SIL moved out of here on Sat. to their NEW HOUSE and I have been there everyday since helping them get moved in and settled. Today is the first day in 5 months without them and I miss them already:( XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteHi Tina! I got your email this morning and will email you back later today! I loved my trip to Southampton but all of the home stores were closed! We got there at 5:30 and they closed at 6! Next time I hope to meet you there! That would be fun! XOXO anyway....I love your Easthampton photos! Such a gorgeous area! Tina what a pretty post this is, have been to the Hamptons once on a side trip when we traveled to Maine and it was all you say it is and then some. Loved it and must return.
ReplyDeleteYour home is just so so beautiful, makes me giddy with excitment just seeing it! Your living room is TDF! Love the big ginger jars on that table.
And finally the planters, they are amazing and do not at all look like fiberglass! Its hard to believe they are, I really like the aged look they have too, look forward to when they are available.
Stay cool...don't know about there but over there (Chicago area) it is sweltering like you cannot imagine.
I want time to stand still! Please! I really love our long, warm days and want to enjoy them! Glad you're enjoying some get-aways! The urns are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteRelaxing at the beach sounds divine! Love the new urns. The one's in the front of you home really add an extra layer of stunning!
ReplyDeleteTINA DEAR! What a gorgeous trip you made. Anywhere near the water is magical to me and gives me that sense of peace I think we all seek!

Beautiful pictures! The food, the flowers, the decor - fantastic post! If there was a "like" button, I would have clicked it several times :-) Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to my week in the Hamptons later this summer and all that the farm stands have to offer! Love the new containers and wish live plants weren't so darn difficult to keep alive. Happy weekend, Tina!
ReplyDeletexxoo
Beautiful pictures of your Hampron's vacation! I'm lovin' all those urns. I can't wait until you have them in your store.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE it if you posted some photos of your Hamptons home.....I'm sure I speak for many blogging gawkers out there! :) You have spoken often about the original home, do you have photos of the "before" pictures? It sounds like it was quite grand and I would love to see photos from what it originally looked like to where your splendid, lovely home stands today!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had lots of fun Tina! Those flower pots that looked fabulously aged are delish and gorgeous, I have 3 similar ones, they are hard to find and very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your summer, xo Z
I spent the fourth away at a lake cottage in New Hampshire Tina...first time in two years I have not blogged in a week!! OMG it felt so wierd~but it was very relaxing and after opening the store at break neck pace I needed the break...we did a lot of waterskiing...I haven't tried in 6 years, but I got right up on my second try! So it just felt so fun to have the boys and the dogs and hubby all close together in the cottage, sitting on the dock and enjoying the sunny days in the water. Of course I got to sneak in a trip to the antique shops every day and got some goodies to take home to my shop. I need to catch up with everyone in blog land and hope to post soon. YOur house looks so pretty with the planters, I think they are quite good looking! I saw many oldies on the antique trail for big bucks. The Hamptons looked so relaxing and remind me of Marthas Vineyard with the farm fresh produce stands and the hydrangeas with pretty houses....ahhh summer time!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a relaxing time Tina! loving the urns, as you know I am a right royal urn addict, so they will be hit in my book anywhere you put them. Really loving them by your front entrance! Beautiful!

Tina-
ReplyDeleteYour home is soooo pretty, I never get tired of seeing it, what a lucky lady you are (well deserved however). Your taste is absolutely impeccable. My sister is addicted to your blog and recommended me and I sure see why!
Those planters are so gorgeous, cannot believe they are not old stone. Thank you sharing a glimpse into your wonderful world. I love antiques, shopping and home decor and my own home is my shrine so its fun to see someone else sharing this passion.
PS The Hamptons is so fantastic, we are going again in Oct. for a fundraising event that my brother in law is being honored for, cannot wait to return, what a neat place and I have never been in the fall.
Your trip = just what the Dr. ordered. I've been thinking of packing the kids up & getting on a plane to some cooler place to beat this horrible heat wave. 100+ everyday, right up until dusk.
ReplyDeleteYour newest wares are awesome. I really like the stone planters. They look SO real. You would think it would take huge effort to move them by the looks.
I hope your weekend has been great!
Keri
Wow, TIna! You did have a great 4th! The produce looks amazing, and of course so do these dishes you prepared.
ReplyDeleteLove, love the urns. SO beautiful, and they look so perfect at place in your home. I love what you have done there.
Happy Monday.
Teresa

Looks like a lovely mini vacation! The urns look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you enjoyed a breather in the Hamptons!! Just unplugging for a week was a break for me. We haven't been out to East Hampton yet this summer, so it was fun to "drive" the familiar route with you! :) Can't beat the farmstands and sunsets!
LOVE your new pots and how pretty things are looking outside your beautiful home!
Welcome back and happy Monday!
xoxo Elizabeth
I am enjoying summer to the fullest! And I am glad that you are too!!!! The pots look stunning. I like the ones you put in front of your large planters and the smaller ones on the handsome, black console. I love urns period!
ReplyDeleteSummer hugs to you,
Mon
Everything looks so pretty Tina. I do love your planters and even featured a couple the other day on my blog. I also like the smaller planters in front of the large ones by the front door- so, so, very pretty! Kind of a layered look, and softens it up a bit.
ReplyDeleteWe spent the fourth at the other end of our great state- the northern most lake in the Adirondacks, Chateaugay Lake...such a break from reality!
Enjoy the rest of week- we're also off for a tournament...fun,fun :)
Tina, Loved traveling with you to the hamptons! The fresh produce is the best and your dishes look amazing! Love those planters they look so old and beautiful!
ReplyDeletePRECIOUS TINA!!!
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back at the homestead. You are ever so wonderful to come visit my little world. WE ARE PAINTING my studio this week and building a deck! Dreams are fun to watch unfold, non?
WELCOME HOME MY DEAR! Anita

So glad you were able to take a little break from blogland and enjoy the Hamptons...most definitely I am my most relaxed by the shore - simply heavenly. Love seeing all of the touches you have added to your home and the urns are fabulous. So happy you're back...missed you!!
ReplyDeleteYour house slays me. It is beyond. Also, that tomato, cucumber and onion salad with feta is one of my all time faves! For real. Loves it!
ReplyDeleteTina....looks like you are having a great summer....and all of those planters are gorgeous! I'm with you.....they try to make us feel summer is over after July 4th!
ReplyDeleteWhere to begin? The planters, your living room, the Hamptons, everything is over the top beautiful here. I am speechless and as my husband will attest that almost never happens, haha!
ReplyDeleteEverything is so beautiful, looks like such a relaxing time in the Hamptons.
