Which would you choose?

Happy Monday morning to you! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. We were in Pennsylvania, in the Main line area and I have to say, really wish I had brought my camera along for the trip......absolutely gorgeous area filled with all kinds of fabulous homes, old and traditional, very pristine and old world feeling, some parts felt just like being in the English or Swiss Countryside, we were in Wayne/Valley Forge to be specific and it is so charming and lovely. Plus they have an absolutely idyllic little town to boot.....Next time!

Moving on to today's post...since we covered boys rooms last week its only fitting we follow up with a wonderful assortment of girls rooms this week. Now being the mother of 3 boys (which I wouldn't change for all the chocolate in the world) I have admittedly daydreamed about how I might want to decorate my daughters room (if I had one) and though more than a few rooms really make me happy, there are two rooms here that is particularly perfect to me. So...you know the routine, scroll through, take your time and tell me if you had a daughter and I know many of you do, which would you choose? I look forward to hearing which comes out on top!  I will share the results of last weeks boy choices in my mid week musings post later in the week. Hopefully I offered a fair representation of a little of everything. Enjoy!

  1. I will be your daughter Tina! Choice 5. Hands down. No question about it. Understated glam. I am emailing you this week. Would love to pick your brain!

  2. Great post! a style for every palate. If only I had a girl, but as you I am only blessed with sons.
I pinned quite a few of your rooms!!

  3. Oh this is so wonderful but I think I might have to keep it away from my daughter who is itching to redo her room. I promised for her 13th birthday, she is getting a room makeover.
If she were choosing, I know she would in a heartbeat go for 17 but I personally love several but 13 gets my vote, its very girly but sophisticated, could see her easily being in highschool and not outgrowing that room, so many lovely choices though!
On a side note, grew up in Main Line (Valley Forge) and it is a very special area. Hope you got to do some fun things!

  4. Ohhh, it is number 7 for me dearest! But of course, they are all lovely!

HAVING FUN in your newly landscaped gardens? WE ARE!!! We are having a new covered deck built starting tomorrow! Don't you love the sound of hammers and the smell of wood? LOVE! Anita

  5. Nr.8 is fantastic, but my choice is nr. 9.

  6. Good morning, Tina!!! I've never visited that area of Pennsylvania....need to make a point to do that!!

I, too, have fantasized about how I would decorate a girl's room and wouldn't trade my 2 boys for all the shoes in the world...so this is a really fun post.

I tend to lend toward the romantic and traditional when it comes to girls.....so #3 and #7 are my favs. Hope you'll reveal your favorite this week!!
Have a great day...looks like umbrellas are needed.

    xoxo Elizabeth

  7. Number 10 for me it's so cute but looks to have room to decorate when she grows older.

    Enjoy your week Tina!

  8. I have two girls, so I gravitate so the pictures with twin beds. I can't pick a favorite...love te palates in 6, 12 and 14

  9. Lots of beautiful rooms, being the mom of 3 girls, I vote for 17, I know they would be be thrilled to have such a fun room that has plenty of space for sleepovers, I don't think you are ever too old for bunk beds!
Fun post, Tina! Glad you had a nice time this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Oops sorry I meant 16, the one with the bunkbeds.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Oh, I adore choice 7. Something about the twin canopy beds brings me back to my youth. Love them all, but I would go with 7. Thanks for the beautiful pictures!

  12. I love 6 because it's so much fun. My daughter used to love to have tea parties. Love 15 too.. xo

  13. 1, 6, 9 and 16 are my top four picks, sorry you asked us to choose one but I really love them equally. Number 1 looks likea dollhouse bedroom blown up to human size, so cozy and pretty! If I were a girl again I would love to have that room:-)

  14. Oh, I'm so glad you had a great trip! Definitely take pics next time your'e there! As for the girl's bedrooms…they are all incredible but hands down it would be #7 first and then #9. My whole growing up life I dreamt of having twin canopy beds so…when my daughter got her first "big girl" room I simply had some custom built! It was a big splurge but I've never, ever regretted it! They are still in her room today…only a very dressed up version of them now. When she was young they were in a fabulous Ralph Lauren fabric and even had a Ralph Lauren lace canopy that was so pretty I've left it on with the new, "grown up" fabric! I love #9 too if i had to pick a second choice! Great fun to see all of these! Several are fabulous for a beach home as well! Have a wonderful week!

  15. Please God, spare me from pink and purple in girls' rooms - so been done, and done again. My choice would definitely be #1. It has everything - beauty, timelessness, a beautiful dollhouse, but mostly it has very little pink and purple!!

  16. I'm such a girly girly so this post is one of my all time favorites! I'm loving 11, 9, 5, and 4! A mix of modern and traditional!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Lindo adorei todos.
    Tenha uma ótima semana.

  18. It's number 16 for me by far -- I love that it is modern but still girly, and having room for lots of girls to sleepover would be amazing!! Great idea for this series Tina!

  19. Choice 13 for my teenage granddaughter! She loves daybeds and this room has just the panache!

  20. 15 is my selection. It is also the room I'd choose for when I was a girl.

    ReplyDelete
  21. You know how to make my brain think real hard so early!! Having just done my daughters room last summer, I happen to love 9 and 11, which look a lot like what we did but I know she would love 16 too because its girly without being overly so and just a really fun room, I mean who doesnt' love bunk beds!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Choice #3, such a pretty little princess room all in pink.

    ReplyDelete
  23. NUMBER 7 !!!! but I would also like #1 or #18

    ReplyDelete
  24. Not sure why my comments aren't working, but I apologize if this comes up multiple times....

Choice #2 looks fresh & clean & I may be a little biased to the fact that it looks easiest to clean! :O)

  25. Since I have two boys, I crave pink in my home. (Probably why we got a female dog!) I just love looking at girls' rooms. I think 3 and 15 are my favorites!

  27. Every time I thought I had found my favorite, I would find another favorite in the next pic. LOL They are all beautiful, but I'm picking #15. :)

  28. Too many great choices for me to choose just one. I like so many of these. LOL.

    Cheers!,

  30. 3, 10, and 18 are my favorites, but I will go with 10! Love each one.
Happy that you were able to get away and have a great weekend.
    Happy Monday, sweet Tina.

  31. Wow, these are great! I love #9 the best, although it seems so elegant I'd say it's more for an older girl. For a younger girl, I love 3 and 8 - colors are fresh and fun, with girly touches without being too frou-frou :-) Thanks for posting!

  32. Oh I don't have a daughter too,
but I'd go for choice 15 if I have one,
oh even for me... its good enough.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Tina ..I am lucky enough to have 3 grown daughters! I love number 7 amongst others but this is the most feminine and warm! Happy Monday to you too! Kathy

    ReplyDelete
  34. Even though I tend to like the more elegant style usually, my first choice is Room 8. It feels more relaxed and fun for a little girl. And I love the pink ceiling!

    ReplyDelete
  35. So much really good choices! I love 5,8,9,& 11. I do have three children as well. Two boys and our diva daughter. She is the youngest and the most maintenance. I think she would pick 8 because having two older brothers she is like an only child and has always wanted a sister. Therefor we always have a spare bed for her girl friends to sleepover!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. My first choice is #12, the room by JVW Home, very pretty and fun, ideal for a girl. A close second was #15, the Robyn Karp bedroom, I liked the sense of whimsy and bright colors this one offered.

Have splendid week, this is a great topic!

  37. What amazing rooms... so many ideas and concepts!!! I think I'm leaning more to room #10. It's so quite and serene and I can't get over that bed!!!

  39. Choices 2, 8, 15 and 16 not in any particular order. Just when I thought I liked one I would see another I liked equally but for different reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ooooh I love #15......with a close second being #1. Great fun.
I see you've been playing with your banner again. Love it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm for #1 and #15. They are both wonderful. My daughter is all grown up now but she would have loved these rooms.

    ReplyDelete
  42. My daughter isn't a girly, foofy girl so I'd go with the orange room (#2) since it's fun and still feminine, but not too fussy. Fun post Tina!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Tina, I'm lucky enough to have had four daughters so I've done and redone lots of girls rooms. These are all exceptional, of course, and chosen by someone with excellent taste. I was taken by the bold colors in choice number 3 and also loved the softer muted tones in choice number 4 ... but when I saw choices 7 and 14 with the exquisite beds and canopies I thought I went to heaven. My final choice for my very favorite is Number 7!

    ReplyDelete
  44. You've provided such gorgeous choices and they're varied enough for everyone to find the perfect thing! I choose #11, but my fourteen year old daughter would choose #12 or #8. Your weekend sounds lovely! Happy Monday!

    ReplyDelete
  45. So much more difficult than choosing for the boy but I've loved 13 since I first saw it. Just one of about five that I really love!

    ReplyDelete
  46. #8 and #12 for a teen. I showed the pics to my 13-year-old daughter and she agreed with my choices.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Choice 7 for younger girls. The fabrics remind me a little of Versailles.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Happy summer! I love choice five for an older girls bedroom! I loved keeping up with your blog! Love, Jamie Herzlinger

  49. well i can see that #2 is not a contender but i love it. a great space to grow up in and into. (thanks my inner tom-boy coming forth)

  50. This was difficult to pick just one, but #1 it is.

  51. #8 for my little Lily, if only she were that lucky!

  52. I live on the Main Line next to Wayne in Bryn Mawr. What a gorgeous, historic area! Wayne is one of my favorite spots!! So many great places to shop and dine!

  54. GOOD AFTERNOON BEAUTIFUL!

I just wanted to come to thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to visit me....I hope you are enjoying the kind of weather we are having....PERFECT!

I bet you are loving your home. We are having a blast rearranging, cleaning, prepping for the builders to come build a deck and just sitting out in the garden. Enjoy. Anita

  55. Number 7 is the bee's knees. I'd love to have a young daughter to live in that space.

    ReplyDelete
  56. No. 4 reminds me of my room when I was 13, especially the pink striped wallpaper. It's my favorite.

I have 2 daughters, and I'm redoing oldest daughter's room right now. She's "tween-ish" and as such collaborating with her on what we both like is very interesting. I love traditional French and she loves modern-won't-be-in-style-tomorrow stuff. Sigh.. Great post. I've wondered before what you would pick for a daughter. So this is a post that I've hoped you would do!

I hope you're enjoying your summer!

  57. Tina,
How could I possible choose? Although #7 is my cup of tea! I have a client in PA who bought a 1884 Queen Anne that we are historically renovating! I'm very exciting and it IS a beautiful area.
    Happy Monday to you too!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Choice 3! It made me smile to see that picture, it was one of my inspiration pictures for my 5 year-olds current room!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. #17 what a perfect room for a teenage girl (a city girl)! It's fun , hip and has the feel of an apartment, for that "I want to be an adult NOW" attitude. For a younger girl I'd have to say @#6 because it has a play room adjacent. Most of the others are all about the bed, which is of course a focal point but I've never known a girl who only sleeps in her room. Thanks for a great pics.

    ReplyDelete
  60. #7, I also have 3 boys and this would be such a great girls room. It is a feminine, light filled room that can accommodate friends. It's definitely a room to grow up in....

    ReplyDelete
  61. Choice 2..!
Snug beds - and then a place for the small princess to hold court..?
    Perfect.....

    ReplyDelete
  62. oops, have to retype my answer...i may have lost it...
My favourite is no. 7, the green is not too green and the pink is not too pink (: Love the style of the beds!
Another room that I want is in your house and furnished like picture no. 9! How stunning are the soft purple doors and trims...and I think it would work with my age and with your castle for sure ((: I am available to visit you often...

My third choice or really second for a child would be no. 15, very cheerful and great furniture and colours!
    hugs Z

  65. 2, 8, 12 and 15 are my faves!

  66. 1,10,and 18...I tend to like the real girlie ones. My daughter is all grown now but, I decorated a bedroom for my graanddaughters in my house..pink and green....love it !!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I have no daughters, but I think my 6 year old granddaughter would love #3, so I'm picking that one. The colors are bright and pretty. I think choices would be somewhat determined by the age of the child. I really like #1, but it doesn't look like a room to live in but a museum piece.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I am so sad you were in the area and I didn't know. I live in Haverford and I would have loved for you and Teddy to come for a swim with me and my lab, Cheli.
    I think #7. I always wanted a canopy as a little girl.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'm loving 1,7,9 and 10. If I had to pick just one I would pick #1

    ReplyDelete
  70. Number 1. Timeless, feminine without being cream puff; the first room is for an intelligent, strong little girl with confidence, imagination and a love of beauty and order. I love the first room!

    ReplyDelete
  71. I know it is over and I am late to the game (summer is so busy) but I LOVE LOVE LOVE 15. It is traditional with a touch of modern whimsy and clean and uncluttered too. I pinned it.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I have a daughter and I choose #15 if money is no object to build her a room similar to it. The teenage interior is very homey. My daughter would love sleeping in that room.
