P.S. Totally off subject here, but tonight having a "girls night"over at my casa and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for a fun but yummy drink for the ladies? I was thinking of something a little more creative besides wine. I do have a good sangria recipe which is always a hit....but any other ideas you care to share? Nothing too complicated. We are doing a tapas night...lots of fun and delicious small plates..my favorite way to eat!
Hi Tina- will head over, looks like a good one if I am to guess its on blue and white:-) You are an expert in that field!
ReplyDeleteAs far as drinks how about a champagne punch with floatig mixed berries and a fresh sprig of mint? I served that at a brunch I hosted recently and it was a hit. You mix a little peach nectar, pineapple with 2/3 champagne then get raspberries, blueberries, or any other small berry and a sprig of mint. Very refreshing.
Good morning, Tina!
ReplyDeleteHow come you didn't invite me over?? :-) You're making us all crave a "girls night"! LOL
I'm definitely dropping by to see your post. Love Beth and Kristy!
Have a great day and a wonderful time with your friends!!!

Will go over. Your girls night sounds like so much fun! I hope you will take pictures of all that you serve because I doing somthing like that in May for my book club with about 12 girls and really need some ideas!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I consider you a bonafide expert on blue and white, maybe write a book!
ReplyDeleteLoved all the beautiful pictures and got a few great ideas too for my own home. Agree that it goes with almost any color and works in so many rooms. Have a good day Tina.

ReplyDeleteGood morning Tina. For your drinks you maybe you should have a cocktail along with sangria. For the cocktail you can try my Ginger lemonade. I make a large pitcher of lemonade sweetened with mint simple syrup. Then leave a little note card at the self serve drink bar suggesting the guest add 1oz. jack daniels tennesse honey, 1oz. ginger ale, and 2oz of the lemonade.top with a cherry and enjoy. I hope you ladies have a great gathering.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my "drinks" board on Pinterest for some great girls night cocktail ideas.

We had white sangria at Palmetto Bluff's Buffalos restaurant in Bluffton. They used Reisling wine, Cointreau and peaches. It was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOr try some Lillet with lemon that has been dipped in sugar.
OK, two of my favorites that we drink at my girls cocktail club (we have it on Friday afternoons in the summer!) 1. Prosecco with a drop of lavender syrup in the bottom of the flute. It is divine.
ReplyDelete2. Texas Margaritas (you are going to think this sounds yuck, but they are so good and easy)! One cup of Tequilla, one can of beer (I know, but trust me), and one can of frozen limeade. They are bubbly and not too sweet b/c of the beer. I like to make a pitcher of them and have it in the frig when my guests arrive - Very delish! Have fun, friend! M.
Adult grape soda...so yummy!
ReplyDeleteIngredients
1.5 ounce Belvedere
1 ounce lemon juice
1 ounce simple syrup
3 ounce white cranberry juice
6 ounce Veuve Clicquot
20 red and white grapes, frozen
Directions
Place the vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, and white cranberry juice in a shaker filled with ice, and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
Pour the mixture into a pitcher and top with the Veuve Clicquot. Stir the mixture and then add the frozen grapes.
This is a or=erfect cocktail for ladies, I serve this to all my lady friends when they visit me on the island and they LOVE it! ONLY Fresca ( a diet drink that doesn't TASTE like a diet drink-who knew?) will work with this, it has a citrus bite that Sprite and 7 up lack, it is so absolutely DEE-LISH! I hope you try it and love it!
ReplyDeleteSassy Razz
Absolute Raspberry Vodka
Fresca
crushed ice
Fresh Raspberries
I start by placing about 3-4 fresh raspberries in a tall glass and muddle. Then add 1.5 oz of Raspberry Vodka, add the ice and fill with Fresca, garnish with 3 raspberries on a skewer.
Enjoy!
Try my Quick & Easy Mojitos at http://avadf.wordpress.com/recipes/beverages/quick-easy-girls-night-mojitos/. Have fun tonite!
ReplyDeleteLoved the blue and white post over at Design Chic, Tina. At a recent girls' night I did a champagne cocktail bar. Plenty of bubbly and fixings for traditional champagne cocktails, Kir Royales, Raspberry Royales and French 75s. I printed out a little menu with instructions for how to mix each one. It's actually much easier than it sounds and was lots of fun! XO
ReplyDeleteOn my way over Tina! Cosmopolitans are always fun for a girls night out!

Always love looking at one of my favorite color combinations, as I noted over at Design Chic, the Whitney Fairchild look was beautiful. (All of them were, to be honest.)
ReplyDeleteWe serve our signature Trouvaille cocktail ( name of our store) at girls night. It's equal parts lemonade, iced tea and vodka...deelish and refreshing! You can even use sugar free iced tea and lemonade if you choose...enjoy!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh at the overwhelming response you have here to drink options! I'd go with Prosecco with floating berries or a vodka cocktail with cranberry. I usually stick to something simple without a lot of the "mix" (too much sugar and gives everyone headaches).
Already follow Design Chic - yes, they are wonderful!
Enjoy your event tonight!

ReplyDeleteHey Tina, I cant wait to see what you have in store, I know its going to be good with that gorgeous picture as a hint.
ReplyDeleteI love party drinks and get together once every few months with a group of moms for a dinner club we started, its a blast. My favorite drink is so easy.
1 bottle champagne
Fresh or frozen diced peaches
1 carton raspberries
Flavored seltzer ( I like lemon or raspberry)
Mix all togehter and serve, makes a very refreshing, very pretty and not a heavily alcoholic kind of drink. Its always a hit. Good luck and have fun :-)
Hello Tina,
ReplyDeleteI love Design Chic! What a great blog, I am headed over there next!
Sangaria is one of my favorites, but another cocktail that I make is similar to the one above.
1 bottle of champagne
1 frozen limeade
Add some Sprite more or less to your taste
sliced strawberries
Mint
And of course a cucumber mojito is always a great idea.
Enjoy your ladies night! Sounds like fun.
Elizabeth
I'm headed over to read; your party sounds like fun.... I would vote chamgagne!! Always simple, elegant and fabulous!!
ReplyDeletexojoan
my favorite is an amaretto sour. you could use a mix you like or do the whole citrus, simple syrup, and amaretto thing. i also like amaretto with pink lemonade. it doesn't get simpler than that!
ReplyDeletewhat time should i head over?
smiles.

I love mint mojitos and cosmopolitans, they are kinda my signature drink that people expect when they visit me! The Cosmo is so easy, good vodka, cranberry juice, triple sec and fresh lemon or lime juice. I like it served straight up with a wedge of lemon or lime...a great drink and all my friends love it.
ReplyDeleteI will check out your post, hope you have a nice time. Girls nights are my favorite.
Headed over to Design Chic. Have fun tonight! I'm sure it will be fun fun fun!
ReplyDeleteHi there! Had company over the weekend and served pear Martinis. I made a pitcher of them and they were a huge hit.
ReplyDeleteMake simple syrup (1 cup sugar and 1 cup water) when cooling add a few fresh sprigs of rosemary.
Recipe is for 12 servings
1 (750 ml) bottle of vodka (I used less)
5 tbsp fresh lemon juice (I used concentrate)
3 tbsp pear brandy (I used regular brandy)
1 large can pear halves w juice
I mixed all together and put in the freezer until ready to serve. I poured the mixture into a pretty decanter and let the guests serve themselves. You might want to cut the pears up and freeze them is the drink stays cold. Enjoy!
LOVED it, Tina!
ReplyDeleteI put this image on pinterest!

Just beautiful So happy to be here visiting you again, I have enjoyed catching up on all your wonderful posts, Hope you have a great day my friend.
ReplyDeleteAlways Wendy
Off to check out your post...your girls' night in sounds fun! I wish I had a tip for you - I definitely don't get out enough these days so I don't have any good tips for you but I look forward to hearing what you came up with. :) Have fun!
ReplyDeleteA great, refreshing drink is the Strawberry Muddle:
ReplyDelete1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cups sliced hulled strawberries
6 thin lemon slices
Ice cubes
Prosecco
Stir sugar and water over med-low heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat and bring to boil. Cool this simple syrup.
Divide strawberries among six 6-8 ounce glasses, add 1 TBSP of simple syrup to each and mash or muddle the mixture. Add a lemon slice to each and mash to release flavor. Add several ice cubes then fill with Prosecco.
**My personal favorite is to skip the lemon slices and muddle basil leaves with the strawberries....then continue on with recipe. The strawberry and basil combination is so refreshing and has a fantastic flavor!!
Enjoy your evening!, Love your blog and so happy that Freddie is recovering. Shame on the owners of those beasts that attacked your dog and your neighbor's dog!
Deb
I just checked out that post! Fabulous! I can never get tired of looking at all of those beautiful pieces!
ReplyDeleteTina- a book should aboslutely be on your horizon or your bucket list. You are incredibly talented and have such a great eye, I have no doubt that you could turn out a best seller that we would all want to have on our coffee tables. Maybe the new modern day Carolyn Roehm? Your style is very similiar and I have had the good fortune of attending a wonderful event at her estate in Litchfield and can tell you its even more incredible in person. Her gracious hospitality just adds to that and I suspect you have a very similar way. As far as drinks, I am a cosmoplitan or martini girl all the way, no exceptions! So enjoy your blog and your zest for life which is very transparent in all you say and do, its wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWatermelon mojitos.... awesome
ReplyDeleteLoved your post over at Design Chic today --- you and Blue&White are synonymous to me now!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry to be weighing in late. I'll bet your friends are already there and having a marvelous time! For future reference, I love the "juice of a few flowers" from one of Ina Garten's cookbooks. It has fresh squeezed grapefruit, orange and lime juice - plus a little vodka. Next time!!!
Have a wonderful time tonight!
xoxo Elizabeth
Just read your post. It was fantastic! I think my home needs some more blue and white, you have me hooked on it now! I love what you have done with it in your own home. I cannot even imagine when you are all done with it, its already so incredible. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful ideas and inspirations. Have a lovely evening.
ReplyDeletePS As far as drinks I really only drink champagne but do like an occasional mojito espeically if I am on vacation!
Have fun tonight Tina.
ReplyDeleteI love grapefruit juice, lemon juice, thin slices of lime and a little lime or lemon vodka on crushed ice. Its a variation of a seabreeze but slightly different in that there is no cranberry. Very refreshing. Where I live they call it a humdinger but don't know if thats a local name or what.
Looks like you got lots of great ideas though.
We loved having you at Design Chic today!! Thank you ever so much for the beautiful post. Hope you're having a wonderful evening with friends...
ReplyDeleteI just read you guest post. Beautiful images as usual! You have such divine taste. When I see blue/white I think of you!
ReplyDeleteDesign chic fan for sure. Loved ready drink ideas! I love Ginger martinis..had them in Hawaii for the first time.not too sweet kind of spicy with crystal Ginger as a garnish
ReplyDeleteHELLO THERE BEAUTIFUL! It is always good to see you do a guest post! I will hop on over before I run off to my classroom!! Anita
ReplyDeleteI don't like margaritas as a rule, but this sweeter Italian Margarita is an exception:
ReplyDeleteEmpty 1 small can (6 oz) frozen limeade into a blender. Fill can with tequila and add to blender. Fill can 2/3 full of Triple Sec, and then to the top with amaretto and add to blender. Add ice to fill the blender 3/4 full, and blend until smooth.
Very nice earns.
