Which would you choose?

Before I begin.......paging NITA JO, winner of the transferware pitcher giveaway. I have posted this on my blog and on The Enchanted Homes Facebook page, unfortunately if I do not hear from you by tonight, I will be selecting a new winner and announce the new winner tomorrow morning.

Hey there! How is your week going? Mine is going fairly well, a few hiccups but what is life without them. I got the idea for this post when I was invited to someones house for a beautiful girls only intimate dinner. It made me realize how much I missed entertaining and having friends and family over for impromptu lunches and dinners. Always great fun to plan an intimate gathering in your home, when you are in the mood that is! But when you are not, it can be a real chore. For arguments sake...lets imagine you are very much in the mood to plan something!

This weeks Which would you choose is a fun one. Imagine this (you know I like to set up my little scenarios) you have decided to throw a dinner party in honor of a very good friend. Maybe 8 or 10 of you, you are even hiring a chef for the occasion so you can be a guest at your own party. This dinner is going to be away to a destination of your choosing for the night. It could be wine country, the wild west, the beach, a penthouse....use your imagination! You get to plan the whole thing out, where, when and how you want it. Down to the dinner courses and dessert (best part if you ask me)  So.....now its time to choose the dining room setting for this party....so here we go! Feel free to include any details of your "party' that you care to include.......

CHOICE 1 Nirvana in Napa

CHOICE 2 Country elegance

Elissa Cullman

CHOICE 3 Beach house bliss

CHOICE 4 Dinner in a barn

CHOICE 5 Brick walled beauty
Arch Digest

CHOICE 6 Penthouse panache
Charles Allen

CHOICE 7 Charleston Chamer
K. Carr

CHOICE 8 Tropical splendor

CHOICE 9 Wine cellar chic

CHOICE 10 Rhapsody in blue
Phoebe Howard

CHOICE 11 Ski house sensational
Locati

CHOICE 12 Formal and fabulous
John Bobbit

CHOICE 13 The sleek sophisticate
Keith Scott Morton

CHOICE 14 City chic
Sherill Canet

So......is it a clear cut chioce for you? Or did you waver back and forth between a few like me? I am going between the ski house with the snow capped mountains view (because I can imagine how cozy it would be) to the so inviting wine cellar dining room and Napa setting to the fabulous tropical setting because that means we are going to be in warm balmy weather and yummy tropical drinks  and that sounds pretty good right about now!! Have you ever thrown a dinner party for girlfriends in your home? Tell me about it!  Can't wait to hear which you choose! Wishing you an enchanted day!

  1. Hi- for once this was easy! I LOVE choice 14, if that was my city dining room I would entertain every night! Love the mix of pattern, the colors, traditional but still fun and very current. Makes me want to throw a dinner party.

  2. Good morning dear heart. I am running late to work, and I will have to come back but I just wanted to visit with you. You are always so full of cheer and joy, and I do hope that all is going well at the manor. I have parent/teacher conferences tomorrow and I have much to prepare for so I best LEAVE NOW! SOO GOOD to see all these lovely rooms...Anita

  3. Number 6 for me! I wanted to choose number 3 but while I love the benches they would be hard for people to dine at and sit without leaning back all night.

  4. Choice 5 for this gal. I love the brick walls, its intimate but so elegant. I can imagine spending hours wining and dining my best friends...would be loads of fun! I love home dinner parties.

  5. Hard choice! I love most of the pictures , but I choose number 11 for the splendid view, for cozy atmosphere and, of course, for the beauty and elegance.

  6. Good Morning, Tina. It's Tropical Splendor for me. I can just feel the cool but soft breezes touch our faces.

  7. They are all gorgeous spaces! I would have to choose between 8 & 11! Decked out in Lilly Pulitzer at the beach or cozy cashmere in the ski lodge. Hmmmm difficult decision. But ultimately, nothing can compare to dining with the the doors open to the ocean breezes and the lull of the crashing waves. Heaven.

  8. I loved the ski house!! No skiing though~just lots of wine and that great view and tons of laughing and "remember whens..."! Second choice was the dinner in a barn, even though I am not a red room person, I love a round table and that room was very inviting with its iron chandy and old wood rafters and ceiling.

  9. Choice 2 is "so me" but I also love number 11! What is it about snow capped mountain peaks off in the horizon??!

  10. It was beach all the way...until I got to the city...hmmmm...:)

  11. It looks like I am having many different dinner parties in many different dining rooms.... Numbers 3 and 11 are probably my favourites though.... xv

  12. 3 way tie for me between 3, 6 and 7. All so beautiful. What fun.

  13. Hmmm, like usual it's tuff... almost had to pick the beach "bliss" just cause of the bliss part, but in the end I chose the barn. Barn because I can think of all sorts of fun country themes and junk to use to decorate it.

I did have a spa day at my house for BFF's one time, sent the kids and husband out had my oldest daughter and her friend wait on us.

  14. It was the beach for me!! Love the thought of being to set up dessert maybe on the beach?? Great post, enjoyed it ! Have a great day.

  15. Lived in the tropics too long not to chose #8, but #2 is very appealing too with it's airy feeling. Guess you can tell I like a lot of light.

  16. Good Morning, I seem to have a real problem here. May I come to all please? I promise to be the perfect goes full of interesting conversation, bringing with me for the hostess a fabulous bottle of wine and sending flowers earlier in the day. xo

    Cheers!

  18. Morning Tina! Hope you are having a great (and maybe restful?) day! This one is clear cut for me (and of course, you know I will tell you why)
    CHOICE 5: Brick walled beauty...
    1. Nothing stimulates conversation more than a round dining table, so this immediately narrowed the choices down.
    2. A group of close friends demands an intimate setting: comfortable chairs to be seated in for hours and the warm glow of lanterns to give us ladies the best lighting narrowed this down a little more.
So this takes me to Choice 4 or 5.
    3. Well, I know my circle of friends and with a glass or two of wine and some great conversation going - we 'could' get a little loud, eliminate No. 4 with the high ceiling - just echos waiting to happen. Ta-Da - NO. 5 it is! Too much thought? Yeah, well you know me.
Thanks for the fun start to hump day - Hope you have a marvelous day.
    - Jalon

  19. Hello Tina!

This was the perfect diversion this morning, I am supposed to be opening the four overflowing boxes of mail from the post office...I am sure the post man hates us we have so much for delivery! But I think I am in denial, maybe it will all just dissapear.

In the meantime I can visit here and plan a wonderful getaway with the ladies to the ski lodge, I am a winter lover and spending time looking out at those beautiful snow covered mountains would be heaven.

My second choice would be to have a champagne and dessert party in NAPA. I love visiting Napa valley and taking in all of the fabulous sights, the Coppola Vineyard, Mustards and the French Laundry! And of course a few days at the spa with the ladies would be the perfect end to a great time.

Thank you for helping me escaps if only for a few minutes!

Have a great day! I hope Teddy's ear is getting better. As you said, it is always something.

    Elizabeth

  20. Even though Spring is front of me, I have to go with #11. Some of my fondest, warmest, and most loving memories are connected to the snow!!!(Go figure, when I've lived in Texas all of my life.) :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. CHOICE 3 Beach house bliss.
BUT if I really had my true pick. Would be lots of beds loaded with cozy pillows & stuff. In a huge old library(books & fashion magazines) WITH a roaring fire ( dangerous but beautiful) THEN room service galore! & a heated balcony with hammocks, also with fireplace. Champagne with stemmed cherries/port & cheese or/and protein fruit smoothies. Evening gowns or Pjs:)Oh and lots of soul music.

  22. I choose the light fixture in number 6. I wonder who makes it?

    ReplyDelete
  23. 1st Choice - #1 Napa Valley - cocktails at sundown, piano jazz playing, candles flicker and all my best friends sipping the best wines from the region!
    2nd Choice -# 3 Beach House Bliss -
    3rd Choice - #9 - Wine Cellar Chic -
You got me energized to plan a dinner party for my own Birthday!

  24. Nivana in Napa all the way! My second choice would be beach house bliss because I'm a beach girl at heart. :)

Hope you're having a great week! xoxo

  25. I would say that throwing a party for my closest friends at any of these divine tables would be amazing. However, I pick #8 as my "heaven on earth" setting! Once again Tina....it was another difficult choice!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Well, if it's a Girls' Night Out it has to be Napa. In vino veritas! Let's dish....

    ReplyDelete
  27. My choice(s) are #3 Beach House Bliss and/or #8 Tropical Splender. Ah, the beach. Not too many chances to sit in the sand and enjoy the sound of the waves here in the midwest.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Napa all the way! Entertaining is lots of work but I'm always glad when I take the initiative and invite my friends over. It's nonstop talk and giggles! Enjoy your day Tina!

    ReplyDelete
  29. love tropical splendor!

    ReplyDelete
  30. No contest...Napa Valley! That dining room is outrageous. I could see a really fun night being had there with me and 8 of my nearest and dearest! NO BOYS ALLOWED!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi there! I don't think my comments were saving for the longest time but I've been so enjoying your blog. Fingers crossed this goes through, I love the room by John Bobbit. :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Tina, not fair you make these so hard! But after your little scenario I have decided on choice 10 its so pretty and feels kind of girly to me and it just looks relaxing and elegant enough for a great dinner with freinds. Love the colors in the room.

    ReplyDelete
  33. If it is fall/winter, I vote for the wine cellar for it's coziness, with wine and cheese; if it is summer, i chose Tropical Splendor where I can listen to the waves crash on the beach with a tropical drink and light summer foods!

  34. Beach House Bliss everytime, any beach!! I am soooo there!! Happy Wednesday,

  35. The one I was most drawn to was country elegance. However, if it was dark out I am not sure I would like it the best. The thing I love most about that space is the light. Perhaps I will have to host a luncheon or early evening dinner when the sun is still up and then while we are eating dessert~the sun will be setting...very nice...then after diner drinks with the chandelier on dimmer switch...nice..

  36. For selfish reasons, #3 Beach House Bliss. Dreaming of having one of my own one day! I can feel and smell the breeze right now!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. #2 please! You could just hang out there all.day.long!
    Catherine

  38. I love no.3! So beautiful just looking out at the water.
    All beautiful choices, Tina!

  39. I love Rhapsody in Blue and Charleston Charmer for me. They are all gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Country Elegance for me. The mountains were a close second.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Number 3 Beach House for sure! Nothing like the ocean for a good dinner! Second is Charleston Charmer number 7. I could live in Charleston , the homes are so beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  42. #2, #5, #12 and #14, either of them would be just perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  43. #3....love so many of them though!
    Stacy

    ReplyDelete
  44. They each offer obviously tons of beauty and style but when I really think about hanging, going through several bottles of wine and hopefully not holding back when it comes to indulging in our favorite foods (as my friends and tend to do) the one that feels the most fun is 9 the wine cellar....what a great cozy space and we could have the fireplace going too! Love it.
This was fun, hope you are having a great day Tina. We hit 76 degrees today, heaven!

  45. I did have a dinner party for my women friends. It is an annual event. Last year, I served the multicolored pasta from Italy, a Moroccan orange salad, focaccia with orange scented olive oil and a chocolate tulip with cake, cream and berries.

  46. Oh my, as gorgeous as these choices are, I right away thought of a dinner on the plains of the Serengeti! I know, very ambitious for just a dinner. ;) But at night, with a million candles burning and eyes blinking in the dark...oooh! Masai warriors would be standing guard, mais bien sûr...
I miss my girlfriends from the States. Even after ten years of living in France, it is slow going and not really the same...

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'd have my dinner in Napa with the look of that beach house... perfect. I wish it was tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think I shall choose both Coasts..West Coast Beach House and East Coast Charleston...However, love the Phoebe Howard too!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Tina- you have really given us such a beautiful group of dining rooms but given the scenario that you presented, I can really see #1 Napa as being the perfect setting for a girls dinner, it looks so relaxing and serene but is really beautiful too. And that view. That view in itself is enough.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I LOVE your "Which Would You Choose" posts -- what fun! My dinner would take place in the Phoebe Howard dining room (no surprise!) and she would be there during dessert for a Q and A on interior design. Gorgeous choices!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Ooooooooohh!! They are all gorgeous, but, hands down I want the ski house! I am in love with the mountains, and my dream home would be timber frame! Give me the time and date and I am THERE!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Okay you got me on the Napa Valley dining table #1! Love that setting! Speaking of friends I'm going out tonight to celebrate a friend's birthday!

    ReplyDelete
  53. napa, #1 all the way.
in my dreams, a dear girlfriend is facing a "big" birthday, all would be gathered up for a weekend in napa.
wine, gabbing, wine, walking, wine, dreaming, wine...........want to come tina?

  54. I am dizzy over Choice #2, the country elegance by Elissa Cullman, what a lovely setting! You won't be surprised a second choice is Number 3, the beach house bliss.

Sending you a smile, I'm so happy your week is going well.

  55. beach house bliss, baby.

i love entertaining girls only. there is an energy and an electricity in the air that can only happen with an estrogen only crowd. the one simple detail i want to incorporate someday soon is serving the champagne splits with happy straws. who wouldn't appreciate that?

    smiles to you, tina.

  56. #3...one of my all time favorite interiors! But, what I'd really love is a home to match each one of these - wouldn't THAT be fun?!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Beach House Bliss or Tropical Splendor! I am having a crazy busy week and the thought of having a big dinner near the water with a great group of friends sounds so dreamy right now! Hope you had a great day Tina!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hands down #3 Beach House Bliss. Love the simplicity of the design and the detail of the elements. Pure heaven!!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Tropical splendour for me. We've had the worst summer for decades in Sydney and it hasn't stopped raining for months, so a trip away with friends to a warm, sunny tropical paradise is just what the doctor ordered!

    ReplyDelete
  60. No wavering for me, the ski house with it's rustic elegance, maybe it's the CO girl in me. I can picture a late leisurely dinner after a day on the slopes, the fire roaring and snow falling. Then changing into our jammies and returning to lounge in front of the cozy fire, chatting until late into the night!

    ReplyDelete
  61. It's got to be number 8 for me, right by the water or at the least a tropical breeze.

    ReplyDelete
  62. good luck with that one!!!
    Not sure which I'd pick.

Hope you have a great week,
    d

  64. Hi Tina, It was a toss up between Charleston and the tropical setting. Charleston is one of my favorite places to visit but I also love anything tropical. If I went with Charleston I would plan a horse and carriage ride through the historic district for myself and the ladies.

  66. I can't decide! I can't decide! OK. After looking for a third time, I so remember a dinner...
I would choose Napa...6 of us friends, since grade school, were on a fabulous trip to Napa Valley. We had been wined and dined all week and nearing the end of our last meal together, we were asked, by a very stern maitre'd, to please "...leave... because we were making too much noise ...and having way too much fun!"
We were momentarily silenced... and then he burst out laughing!
"After dinner drinks on the house all around!"
    A cherished memory...
    Thank you, Tina!

    ReplyDelete
  67. So hard to choose! I think I'll go with #11.

    ReplyDelete
  68. No. 1 - hands down! The brick walls, the views and I am thinking really good Italian food! Plus I would look good in that light! Ha!

    Hugs to you sis.

  71. oooooh for me, it's definitely a toss-up between #2 country elegance and #7 charleston charmer. both are so beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Choice 4 hope it doesn't smell.

  73. Hi Tina! Number 6, the penthouse. But, I would take a pinch of any of the beauties you have;) Thanks- Ann Mucha
