Random Thursday musings and a new winner!

Its Thursday and I for one, am happy the weekend is almost here. Here in NY, we are supposed to get all the way up to the high 60's! I feel spring is in the fair...at last! Today, is a bunch of different things, a little bit of this and a bit of that. Its a long post, so you might just want to grab another cup of coffee (or whatever you may be drinking)!  Starting with a new winner then moving on to the homefront.  I have to say its hard to get terribly motivated when I still have quite a few people working here but I did get some wallpaper ordered, and that's got me anticipating getting it up on the 19th! And we did try some rugs, which was very exciting!  So here we go with all the randomness.......

Unfortunately since the winner of the gorgeous transferware pitcher did not contact me, despite many efforts,  I have drawn a new winner from the same pool of names. The new winner is.....Delores Wieding!
Please contact me ASAP to provide shipping details.

A few things on the homefront. Tried 2 rugs for living room and dining room. Both rugs from Safavieh. They are stunning! I am trying to conjure up  some serious visuals of decorating around the rugs. The dining room I wasn't sure about, love it at night more than during the day.....so we are living with both rugs for a few days  but the living room is a serious contender. Yesterday the very soft colors of the French rug in the dining room were growing on me in a big way when I had a three minute window of being able to really visualize the completed room. What do you think?

Dining room....the colors are fabulous, pale golds and blues

A few close ups when its not as sunny......

The "darker side" of the dining room rug
The living room.....shown from the lighter side, its a beautiful rug too

From the dark side

Closer up of the dining room

Stepping back

Put this beautiful french black console from Safavieh in our hallway......

And how pretty are these? Believe it or not they are resin given an old look and you can lift them with a few fingers! (will be carrying this line in my online store) About 12 inches tall, perfect for indoors or out!

You know I love your opinions...here's the current state of my closet. No top, so pay no attention to  the ugly temporary wood top..am leaning towards white marble, really loved the antiqued mirror idea but it's not practical and I don't want to freak out every time I set something down on it. Any other ideas you want to throw out at me? Or do you agree with the white calcutta gold marble choice as it ties in with the bathroom right next door?

One of my dearest friends in the universe swung by and gave me such a beautiful housewarming gift..I nearly fainted it was so pretty!! Check out this magnificent domed etched cake dish! How beautiful is that? Then she gave me this fabulous crystal pitcher. I smell a batch of Sangria!
Pretty things come in big shiny gold boxes.......
A little last minute plate of munchies.....
Whoa!! How magnificent is this!!!!!!!

And this pitcher.....serious dose of gorgeous!
Almost too much pretty for one picture........

And next to my other etched cake dish..they are perfect together, like reunited sisters!

OK moving onto a more delicious topic......  more than a few of you asked about my spaghetti carbornara and Pistachio sandwich recipes. So...I am not the only one who loves good food, eh? I am happy to share the recipes with you...both actually super easy but beyond tasty. I have zilch willpower around each so only make them every now and again! Below is the recipe for the Carbonara and a few pics I thought to take with my iPhone while in progress......

Step 1. Start with four to five slabs of thick cut bacon or pancetta in about 3 TBSP olive oil

Brown with approx. 5-6 garlic cloves

Step 2. Start cooking your pasta al dente, I like Barilla thin spaghetti but any variety will do

Call me lazy but I LOVE pre peeled garlic cloves..what a cinch!

Step 3. brown really well, takes approx. 10-15 minutes
Step 4. In separate bowl whisk two eggs and 1 cup of freshly grated Parmesan
Mix very well until you have a thick consistency
Step 5. When pasta is well drained, add pasta to the olive oil, garlic and bacon, toss well (at this point add salt and ground pepper)

Step 6. Then add your egg/Parmesan mix on top of well mixed spaghetti, immediately take off of heat and on the side  and use a fork to mix thoroughly

Step 7. Once mixed very well, add about 1 to 2 TBSP of freshly cut parsley, add more fresh Parmesan on top and mix once again

Step 8.Step back and admire and get ready to feast on one decadent meal.....yummmm!

    Bon Appetit!

Now these pistachio sandwiches are easy peasy but oh so good. I make them when we have people over during the summer and they are such a big hit. Simple as this.....

Step 1. Thaw at room temperature for about 15 min. a pint of Haagen Daaz Pistachio ice cream

Step 2. Get a package of butter crisps or other paper thin cookie
Take the entire package off of ice cream, put chunk of ice cream on cutting board and slice in to 1/2" thick "slices" put between two butter crisps and set aside on plate.

Step 3. I take shelled pistachios and pound them into small bits and roll the edges of ice cream sandwiches for an extra delicious burst of pistachio and voila! There you have them, your very own gourmet ice cream sandwiches!

How easy is that! I neglected to take pics of the healthy part of the meal...baby arugula salad with lemon juice and olive oil and a small wedge of Parmesan. Made for one heck of a great meal!

My bookshelves always have more space for one more great book to add to my family of books. I just did a preorder on what I suspect is going to be one great book due to come out in May!! If the cover is any indication..this is going to be a homerun!  Have you preordered it?

My wallpaper sagas continue......found out yesterday that the paper for my bedroom that I have been working around for a  few months cannot be fulfilled in its entirety from the same dye lot and that if I want to get it it is going to now have be a custom order!! I nearly fell off my chair when she told me the price, so its now no longer "my paper". I was like a deflated balloon, it was perfect but I need a lot and they are charging a lot of money to have it custom from the mill so its a mute point. Thanks Stark. The only silver lining yesterday was I got a box in (love getting boxes) and it was my desk alcove paper! Now this made me happy. Very happy. So I promptly called my paper hanger and asked him to please come over if something frees up before the 19th. Fingers crossed...I cannot wait to see it up!

So...whats on your plate literally and figuratively? We are supposed to get to a whopping 68 degrees today! Anything exciting happening this weekend? Anything good cooking in your kitchen? Would love to hear! On that note, wishing you a fabulous Friday!!

  4. Good Morning, Tina. It's Thursday not Friday. Just think, you have an extra day, a free day to get things done.
What about using an exotic piece of wood for your closet. That way you don't have to worry about spills such as perfume. Love the colors of your dining room rug.

  5. Tina, so much to see and comment on I had to scroll back a few times. Here are my thoughts since you asked!
    - The rugs are incredible! The dining room is very light and subdued, I can see the room done around it, it would be very beautiful but be sure you want that much neutrality. Love the living room as well.
    - Your closet (major envy) I can see marble or a wood parquet top? Not sure if you want to bring in wood but it could look very pretty.
-Love your new console, and that cake dish- wow!
-Thanks for the recipes, I don't eat pasta but my kids and husband love it and it looks easy enough to try and it looks really good, I must say.
Wow this was a feast so early in the morning for my senses. Thank you.

LOVE ALL YOUR GIFTS, AND THE CARBONARA RECIPE LOOKS TOO GOOD TO NOT TRY.
THE RUGS ARE PERFECT. I THINK THEY WORK SO WELL WITH EVERYTHING ELSE GOING ON IN OTHER ROOMS. TIES IN THE BLUES AND CREAMS THAT SEEM TO BE IN MOST OF THE HOUSE.
KEEP ON POSTING, LOVE YOUR UPATES POSTS.

  7. Still trying to dig out from my girl's weekend, but I had to comment! I make the pasta recipe in almost the same, only exception - I add frozen petite peas (just make me feel like it's a little healthy!) M.

  8. I am blown away by your house and those rugs are wonderful too.. plus you can cook... does your husband know how lucky he is ahah ha!! Seriously though you have a wonderful house that will look magical after you have finished.. I am guessing that its all well worth the expense.. your rooms look even larger than mine, and I have a georgian rectory, so the rooms are pretty big too.. I am looking forward to seeing the whole finished, but thank you for sharing your journey with us, its inspirational!!! best wishes from the other side of the pond.. janzi

  9. The rugs are so beautiful, but the blue is the one. Tina, your home is so lovely. I know you are having a wonderful time decorating. What lovely presents. The etched glass bell jar is my fav. The recipes look yummy!! But, oh, the wallpaper....I can hardly wait to see it installed. So delicate and pretty. Have a wonderful weekend...Hugs, Jan

  10. Great post. I love that console..it is just lovely. I have one that I want to re-do myself and I might just use yours for inspiration. I'm with you on the marble for the dressing room. Actually, I can't picture anything else in there. I HATE when you fall in love with something (wallpaper) and then find out it is no longer available...or available for a BIG price. UGH.
I'm holding my opinion on the rug(s). This has always been my hardest choice (right after paint color) when finishing up a home so I am more confused than you are!;>)
I LOVE your recipes - especially the one for the pistachio treat..quick, fun, impressive~

Hope you have a great week...if you get the chance pop by- I painted a little old TV...lol xo Diana

  11. Kind of speechless after all this beauty. And good food, how creative with the pistachio sandwiches, they are so pretty. The rug(s) to me both are perfect. I can really see decorating around them very easily. I think you have 2 winners.
That cake dome is fabulous. Nice friend! Your closet could make Carrie Bradshaw blush. Enjoy it and I do think white marble is the way to go, it ties into your bathroom which I can see adjoins it. Your choices have been perfect, so trust your instincts, Tina

  12. Morning Tina! I am blown away ... now you have your own cooking show along with everything else? SERIOUSLY GIRL... WHEN do you sleep? LOL
    - That dining room rug is to die for. PERFECT, new with the old world feel... ideal
    - Don't you just love when wallpaper (or any other store) says, of course - we can do that... (three months later) oh wait, no we can't. Perils of the trade, I guess.
All in all, your musings are a hit out of the park (as always)
Thanks for sharing - have a great day. Jalon

  14. Good Morning Tina, Just as all the other posters have said it is looking magnificent. What a disappointment with your wall paper but sometimes those disappointments turn out better in the long run. It's truly a blessing to have wonderful friends but an extra bonus if they are generous with good taste!! Love the statuary piece can't wait for the online store to open!! Your closet is a dream..even though interior design is my first love, I'd love to see the clothes that lurk behind the doors!

  15. I'm not sure I've ever in my life been this hungry for Spaghetti Carbonara this early in the morning! YUM! I think I'm making this tonight! I can't stand it, it looks so good!
Your closet is seriously making me crazy. It is absolutely gorgeous Tina. I can't imagine a prettier one.. I love the doors, and everything about it. Frankly, I didn't even notice the wood on top of the island... I would agree to go with the marble.. it sounds gorgeous and will blend perfectly.
The dining room rug is fabulous. FABULOUS. And I'll just die if you don't get the faded french one.. (You had to know I'd pick that one..)

  17. Hello Tina

I adore how the shafts of light carry through the rooms in your images. Fabulous! Whatever you put on the floors will be beautiful...You have such incredible light!!! Crystal and silver and gold will absolutely glow

Today I am painting outdoors, a husband who is surprising his wife with a paiting of their view, which is spectacular, overlooking the intercoastal waterway. I feel like a mistess sneaking into their home, when she is away. I promise there is nothing romantic between hubby and me

  18. Hi Tina! I adore both of those rugs. Some friends of mine called me a few weeks ago to help them decorate their dining room (its say empty since they built the house) in a hurry before company came. I ordered a blue and gold Safavieh rug very similar to the one for your living room, bought some off the rack gold silk drapes and had my seamstress add some fringe, slapped up a coat of paint, and voila, instant dining room for them! I've always loved blue and gold together!
Barilla is my favorite too--they have a protein enriched pasta that tastes just as good but makes me feel a little less guilty about that extra helping.

  19. I'm dying to meet you in person. How can anyone have so much energy. By the end of the day, I am excited if I can run out and pick up something for dinner!! Your closet is amazing and the island top will be fabulous in the marble - love that it will tie in your bathroom!! Veranda is my absolute favorite magazine - I think I have every issue since its inception, and I am waiting with bated breath for the book!! Happy Thursday, Tina.

  20. Hi Tina,
I definitely prefer the first paler rug. The second rug seem a bit too busy for my taste. I don't know what the rest of your pieces are so the second rug might look great. I am sure which ever one you choose will be the right one. Thank you for sharing the recipes, they look great.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Is it wrong that I want to trade my bowl of yogurt and nuts for a dish of your Carbonara? It looks delicious! Both rugs are beautiful, but the paler one has a slight edge for me. For the closet, I would choose the marble - we continued the marble from our master bath onto top of my dressing table in the adjoining closet and I've been very happy with the look.
Hope the wallpaper saga resolves soon. It will be Friday before you know it! XO

  22. Tina, love everything about this post. When do you ever sleep??? You are amazing and the house, there are not enough words to describe how amazing it is. I am in the middle of a closet redo and I have chosen antique mirror for the top of my island and jewelry chest but I think the marble will be absolutely stunning. Have a great day!

    Sincerely

  23. Good morning Tina! I always love dropping by to see what you have going on for the day. Yes..your energy is amazing...don't know how you do it all and with such amazing thought and detail.

  24. I'm making that for dinner, tonight! I must confess I sort of cringed at the thought of grease splattering all over that gorgeous stove, crazy I know! I almost forgot about the rugs, wallpaper and closet...the paler rug in the dining room is my favorite! Marble, yes! Wallpaper, can't wait!

  25. I love the post. The pictures are stunning and the food looks fantastic. I agree with Shauna, when do you sleep?

  26. Tina,
Your rugs are beautiful....but is it hard to cover up those gorgeous floors? I know people have been using rugs for generations, but your floors are so amazing!! Your closet is so pretty and love the glass cabinets to show your things, but protect them as well.
Love your Juliska pitcher...at least I think that's Juliska?
It's just after 7am on the west ocast and I could eat a bowl of that pasta carbonara for breakfast...my gosh that looks good!!! maybe I can hold off making it for 12 hours!

  27. There is a lot of "pretty" happening at your house! Rugs! Crystal cake stands! Pitchers (yes, I'll take a glass of that sangria) and that carbonara and dessert. I love that you just know how to live well and enjoy every minute.

Things feel a little unbalanced over here....but I know it's temporary. We're about to head out for Spring Break and while we're gone the wall comes down, the floors get done, the painting happens. So....I'm hoping lots of progress is made.

And then there's the yard....or should I say mounds of dirt?!

Loving this day - so sunny and warm. It's like a glimpse of what's to come. Bring it on!

  28. Good Morning Tina! I drank an entire cup of coffee while scrolling down your post. I felt as if I was visiting! First, rugs are perfect - the golds and blues were lovely. Bedroom- I'm a huge fan of marble, so I'd go with that and your wallpaper choice is perfect. Very sweet friend to bring the generous house warming gifts and let me know when the Sangria is ready - YUM! I make Spaghetti C. all the time :) and the arugula salad is the perfect accompaniment. I'm going to save the recipe for the ice cream sandwiches - great idea and would be a huge hit here.

Hubby is traveling, very busy at work (makes the time fly by), and SO looking forward to Friday - I don't work! I am meeting a girlfriend for lunch - and there may be wine involved :)

Thank you for sharing all this Tina.

  30. Your pasta carbonara looks amazing! It's one of my favorite meals of all time. I like that you don't use cream - two schools of thought on that. I don't either. My recipe (actually Marcella Hazan's) is almost identical to yours, except that a 1/4 white wine goes in to deglaze and reduce. Have a fantastic weekend!

Your rugs are beautiful, I really love how they each have some blue and pale gold. I thin perfect for your home. That black console and garden ornament are so elegant too. Cannot wait till the store opens!
I also cannot wait to see that gorgeous paper go up. And last your friend has great taste, love that cake dish and pitcher. Yes, it is calling out for a batch of Sangria.
Enjoy it and thank you for sharing this beauty and making the world a prettier place.

  32. That closet is to die for. I wouldn't ever leave it! Yes, white marble all the way. Love the glass doors, such a beautiful and elegant solution to keeping things tidy.
The rugs are exquisite. I assume antique? I think they compliment each other, are the two rooms open to one another?
The gifts you got were so beautiful, hope you get lots of enjoyment out of them.
Thanks for sharing the 2 recipes. I do enjoy cooking and now that I have a beautiful new kitchen, am always looking for new recipes to try, will have to make both this weekend. My entire family would enjoy both.
Many thanks. Hope its OK that I copied some pictures here? Of the rugs and your closet?

  37. Hi, Just recently found your blog and have been enjoying your process with your beautiful house.

The rugs you showed are beautiful, but i was thinking that with the size of your living room you might consider two rugs anchoring two (or more) seating arrangement. This scheme would also show off more of the beautiful floors.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well, let's see. Love the rugs! I would choose marble for your closet island top. And may I say, that is one awesome closet! Love the gifts your friend gave you. Sorry about the wallpaper, but I feel you'll find just the right one to replace it. Love the french console in the entry. What else will be a part of this vignette? And last, thanks a million for the recipes! The food looks so delicious in the pictures that I wish I could just lift it out of the photos and start eating (lol)!

I live in NH and the weather is amazing today, hoping to spend a fair amount of time outside over the weekend if possible. Maybe make some yummy carbonara!
    Have a wonderful weekend :-)

  40. I love the one that you try in the diningroom, even that the space is a Little darker than the livingroom, it looks great for me because the efect is like antique not like a new imitation. Love the chandeliers at livingroom and at the entry way! They look beautiful! Do not worry to hurry and take a decision, sometimes you have to compenetrate with your house, feel it and get use to it to decide and see which looks better. You have great taste! And remains me a kind of Betty Lou Phillips which I love too a lot!
I am from Honduras, you wish to be here for today! Our weather is sunny, beautiful beach day! So, I will enjoy a Pińa Colada in your name!!

  41. I love the rugs, Tina. Virtually every rug in my home is a combination of blue and gold, so if you tire of them they will fit right in here. I think the living room rug will go so well with your blue and white collections. Love the console, the resin baskets of fruit and the wallpaper. I would definitely use the Calcutta gold in the closet. You have very generous friends with great taste...the (Yoeward?) domed footed plate and pitcher are fabulous.
And speaking of fabulous, I will be trying those recipes this week.
    All the best...Victoria

Your closet is very pretty and I would most certainly go with the marble, it would look great reflecting the same in the bathroom. The faded rug is a winner and I love the console in the hall. Great recipe and a frim fav around here too. I have both ready peeled garlic for a quick fix and bulbs for when domestic goddess takes over and want to be authentique!! Thus I satisfy both urges!! I think the rugs are gorgeous, Tina. The President will invite himself over for dinner!

I actually like that one of the rugs is more toned down in color. You don't want rugs competing for attention. Especially if the rooms are next to each other.

The calcutta marble sounds fantastic! What a dressing room, Tina. And all that light. Stunning with a capital S.

Then you can leave yourself notes like " take the blue pumps to the cobbler" or photos of outfits you want to put together again or pics torn from magazines or photos with dates/events written on them of fancy dresses you wore so you don't show up at your friend's kids' weddings wearing the same dress 3 times in a row! Your friend gave you very nice gifts and I'm already imagining the domed cake dish filled with a Baked Alaska covered in swirling white meringue (winter snow) and sparklers (they'll fit), ready to be dramatically torched once the dome is lifted (dinner at Le Pre Catalan is my inspiration) LOVE the cookie ice cream idea, and I will make mine with vanilla ice cream and strawberries and it'll be like eating real Belgian Waffles mit Schlage! Carbonara's on my menu for tomorrow, yum!

Lastly, we all want your closet, and yes to marble.

  56. Hi Tina, Drooled the entire time scrolling down. Can't wait to try the recipes, but the "bad girl" in me will substitute their butter waffles for the thins. For your closet how about etched glass? Love both rug choices and the paper for your desk alcove. Can you share your friend as serious drool over the pitcher and cake stand. Thank God tomorrow is Friday, and the last day of the work week. Plan on browsing the local antique shops for some odds and ends, but if weather stays great might get out and start working on my flower beds. Hope your weekend is great. As always thank you for sharing.

  57. Always LOVE your design choices so know you'll make the right ones.Hard to tell from your pictures of your rugs but I am definitely partial to antique and would choose that over new.Plan to make "your" supper soon! It looks amazing! Your gifts are gorgeous-sooo pretty!

  58. Tina! I literally just made the Spaghetti Carbonara and it's so delicious! My son was like, "what's in it" on the way home from school and I was like, "trust me, you'll like it..." and HE DID! He said it was one of his new favorites! Except the funny thing is, I added pine nuts, just for fun, and he said they only thing he would leave out is, of course, the pine nuts. He's ridiculous - but thanks so much for sharing the recipe. I don't think I would've even thought of making it had you not included the recipe and photos! DELICIOUS and fairly easy!! I only needed the pancetta from the store!

  60. This one is chock full of all sorts of things, house updates, rugs, dressing room decisions, oh my! And to top it all off, RECIPES! The pasta looks so good, I love that you included the recipe, and the photos, that makes it easier for some of us more "challenged" in that department!

    Sending you a Friday smile,

  61. Wow,Tina, you were not kidding, I drank a huge cup of cocoa reading all of the fabulous post.

I LOVE the rugs! They are so beautiful, what was your concern about the dining room? If you said, I missed it.

I cannot wait to see these two beautiful rooms coming together. There are too many things for my tired mind to comment on, but I love the new items for the store, and the table for the hall looks great. The gifts from you friend are also beautiful, the cake plate reminds me of the light hanging above your island.

Sad to hear about the wallpaper, especially after you have been putting all of the fabric choices together.

How is your online store coming by the way?

And last but not least, these delicious recipes! I cannot wait to try them out! I may make tha carbonara tomorrow night, a great way to start the weekend.

I hope Teddy's ears are better.

    Have a fabulous weekend! Elizabeth

Thank you for coming by to visit and for your always kind comments.

  62. Over the top...as always! Tina, the rugs, white/gold marble, crystal cake and pitcher, console, et. al...Stunning! Love SpagC but I veggie it up with quinoa pasta, Morningside Farms 'bacon' and peas.
I know your process here seems daunting...like it will never end...But I'd bet that soon you'll be conjuring up another! Take your time, you're off the clock... buy what you can't live without and it will be perfect! It all looks that way so far!
    Super ice cream (sorbet?) dessert!
Have a great weekend...it will be 80 degrees here after low 50's the other day...such is the change of seasons, even here in So. Cal...where my newly planted David Austin bare roots are leaping! YAY!
    Hugs, Chris

Ahhhhh how you must be enjoying it all!!!!!!

  64. I am in love with the living room rug - it is just absolutely stunning (rich colors) and looks magnificent in that room. Who needs furniture! The dining room rug - I can see your dilemma. It will have furniture on it and will look different also if you add ambient lighting. It is pretty, too. Thank you for sharing delicious recipes.

Love the cake dome and pitcher. They look so at home in your kitchen.

  67. Tina, I love those rugs - I love the pale tones in the first one and the blue is just perfect for your love of blue! My kids' favorite meal, since our last trip to Italy last Summer, is spaghetti carbonara so I loved this tutorial! Have a great weekend. :)

  68. O my goodness I was drooling reading that recipe-I'll have to try making it myself! I adore your closet too, ugh nothing worse that the small closets of college apartments! You would thinking by now someone would have come up with something better!

  69. Hi Tina, I am a huge fan of your blog and hope you don't tire of it anytime soon. Also, I'm eagerly awaiting the opening of your online store. Because of you I have become a lover of all things blue and white. Where would you suggest I start in acquiring blue and white vases, urns, etc.?

  70. Thank you so much for that wonderful comment on my blog this morning! I got it when I woke up, and it made for a great start to the day. I have a few comments about this fun post. I love the rugs! The afternoon light really brings out the colors in the dining room rug. I think I like that one slightly better than the one in the living room, but only because it's more muted. Your friend was so nice to bring you that cake display/holder! The pasta looks great. I make Jimmy eat chicken carbonara all the time, and her's quite the fan. I also thing the calcutta gold is the right choice for the closet :) Happy to "meet" you!

  71. What a wonderful home! The room will be fabulous, the golds and prussian blues in rug will be so much fun to work with, and all that great blue and white porcelain you have I can see that being worked in through out as accessories too! Love the black console, every room needs a little black! I also love the faded dining room rug..great choice. Cannot wait to see the progress! Good Luck!

  72. Oh Tina, those rugs are stunning! And your closet is going to be SO beautiful! I would do marble if it were mine, but you know I think every single thing you pick is beyond gorgeous, and I'm sure whatever you pick there will be, too!! Happy weekend,

  73. TINA!

Oh dearest, thank you for visiting my tiny castle!!! AND YES, I do NOT snack. I am strange, I know....I never have! I was a dancer and I just got used to a regime (diet in French) where I had to watch myself to dance. It has carried through my GOLDEN YEARS....teehee.....but I ADD my chocolate fix into my breakfast yogurt mix!!! SO I GET MY thrill but IN MY breakfast!!! Gotta find a way, you know, to have some fun!

    THANK YOU FOR VISITING! Anita

  74. I'll just have to ask the question that people keep asking?...When dear friend, do you sleep? I'm so hungry right now that I could dive right into that pasta...one of my favorites..Love the beautiful rugs. Particularly the pale blues in the dining room. Have a great weekend. Mona

  75. Tina, everything is beautiful. You could publish a book on just about anything, you can do it all and with such beauty and grace!
I adore those rugs. Amazing selections, you get my vote.
The recipes look out of this world and i like that there is no cream in the carbonara, the recipe I have uses cream and I hate serving something that fattening.
Beautiful pictures, cannot wait till your online store opens. Hope you have a nice weekend.

  76. Oh my! The rugs are to die for beautiful! I also want to know when you sleep! You do more in a day than I can do in a week! And you do it all so well!

  77. Stunning love it all. The rugs are spectacular. We have a kerman (antique) in our living room with very similiar colors. It is so pretty and reminds me a little of yours.
I am sure you are very ready to start the fun process of decorating.
The recipes look wonderful too- thank you for sharing the step by step process, and including those pictures.

  78. Don't you want to go to High Point with me in April? I have a 30 year shopathon going on there. Your rugs are beautiful. If the dining room rug looks best at night, go for it. When else are you in the dining room? Come by and see Hutton Wilkinson's new house in Beverly Hills--it is the bomb.
    Best,
    Liz

  79. Tina,

Home is the love affair that never ends. Love the rugs and I agree marble in the dressing closet. Love the etched cake dish/dome it matches your kitchen light fixtures (currently) how cool is that! Great recipe I'll have to try it and ice cream...anytime... anyplace always right. Tip: the eariler in the day you enjoy it the easiler it is to work off. Hope Teddy is getting better too.

    Happy weekend!

  83. You really got such a wonderful place. Those rugs are also beautiful. By the way, have you considered not placing any rug? I mean, from the pictures the floor seems pretty cool so it might also be an option not to have those rugs. Anyway, those gifts are really awesome. Thank you for sharing this post and those recipes. Keep on posting.
