Which would you choose?

Good morning all! OK this is a really fun "Which would you choose" and I am dying to know which house you will end up choosing. Imagine this.......you have just been given a "beach house" by a relative. OK, a very rich relative who is unloading all of his things, lets just say for arguments sake he has decided to forgo a high maintenance lifestyle and spend the rest of his years sailing around the world on his 70 foot sailboat. Hey..... his loss is your gain. So...the beach house needs a little work, or maybe a lot of work. It hasn't been used in years. Best part...it gets to be on any beach or island community your little heart deserves! Fast forward, a designer of your choosing has swooped in, worked their magic and voila the perfect beach house is yours for the taking! So......this is where you come in. Choose your beach house! Which will it be?

Whoa, that is what I call some serious beach house beauty, right there!! I am so torn but think, I have it narrowed down to two. I keep going back up and down.....all have something fabulous! Cannot wait to hear which you choose. Now if only that sailboat loving, rich, generous uncle would magically appear! Enjoy your day!

PS Many of you have asked about the house, I am going to try to prepare a small update post for Sat. or Sunday. Working on it, we are chugging along....slowly but in the right direction!

I think you'd love it! Let me know!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Do you really expect me to make a choice? OK, if my rich uncle really needs to know, then I must go with #1, it is charming, light but traditional and just so inviting but believe me I would not turn any of these beauties down.
    WOW WEE!!

  5. Tina,
You are just Killing me. I went from 1 to 3 and then the last photo of 6 just slayed me..... So my answer is.... yes please!!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. If I could choose...it would be between 3 and 6..with a strong leaning toward 6...they are more me! But all are fabulous and only something I will dream about!! Anyone who owns one is welcome to invite me over!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I would chose number 3..it appears to be in a harbor area. You still have the sea, but maybe not the damaging winds. but let's be honest, any one of them would be most wonderful. Smiles, Susie

    ReplyDelete
  8. I would say 1, 5, or 6. For counting purposes, let's go with 1, but I'm really loving those others, too, and it would be hard to pass up a Robert A.M. Stern house. This is so hard!!! But made for a nice daydream :)

  9. Choice 3! I would love to be there right now!

    ReplyDelete
  10. They are all beautiful but my choice would be either 1 or 6....but in the end, 1 had me at "hello"! The windows, the splash of color in the kitchen tiles, the high peaks, the pool (sigh)! I will start packing my things up!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Number two, can't resist that architecture - but I'd have to layer in more colour and textiles, it's a bit hard and not quite "loungey" enough as is... oh, if only....

    ReplyDelete
  12. Oh number 5 would fit perfectly in my beach dream house. Love the weathered shingles, the gorgeous water front and the fact that I could leave by boat at any given moment. Would definitely mix and match the interiors for my dream home...so many of my favorite images!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Number one or five please...would move tomorrow, permanently.

  14. 1 or 3 but then i saw 4 too ughh but 1 based on kitchen and bathroom (2 most impt rooms) and then 3 i looove the bathroom!!!!

  16. Good morning, Tina!!!

Wow! Hard to decide.. really hard today! But I'll get the #5! Loving everything in there.

The kids are having a really bad cold lately... I'm so worried. It's not easy when the 3 of them aren't feeling well.

    Lots of love to you,

    xo

  17. Definitely #1 with the bathroom of #3. All stunning!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Seriously? This is too tough 'cause I'm waffling big time here. So I'm leaning towards #6 followed by #3. Beautiful interiors and exteriors period.

They are all so wonderful!! It is fun to dream - would say #1, then #5!

    ReplyDelete
  20. It's 1, and 3, for me! But, I wouldn't turn my nose up to ANY of them!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I am going with 4 which kind of surprises me but I would want my beach house to feel very different than my main house, and 1 and 5 feel most like my house now. Whereas 4 is just so fresh and uplifting, love all that color, kind of unexpected but fun.

    ReplyDelete
  22. No question...#1. Every picture was inviting me, with no little hints of things I'd like to change.

    ReplyDelete
  23. HANDS DOWN CHOICE 2, MY DREAM BEACH HOUSE....WOW!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ooooohhh, #1. No question. However this prior beach babe would take any of them if I could see the ocean.

    ~Bliss~

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh! Two tough to choose! 3 or 6, I think as long as they could be somewhere on Nantucket. Or in the San Juans, would would be a shorter commute! But I'll have to go back again a couple times to be sure. I'm ready to pack up and head for the beach!!! XO

  26. *** As the saying goes, "GEEZE, LOUISE!"~~~~~ I mean, why don't you just ask us WHICH of our KIDS (or in my case, DOGS!) I'd give up if I had to?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! (Smiles...)

Well, one thing I NOW I K*N*O*W is that I am N*O*T as "HIGH MAINTENANCE" as Jim SEZ I AM~~~ cuz I honestly, truly, would/could take ANY of these and be SUPREMEMLY PLEASED... I mean, WHO WOULDN'T, Tina????

    DELICIOUSLY FABULOUS PHOTOS~~~ Mannnnny thanks!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. You know you don't make this easy Tina.

Love the clapboard Colonial - #3. A refreshing change from tropical, which is what we had in the islands. I would add some early American antiques and call it home in a New York minute.

  29. Loved 6 and the bunk room in 1 with all those textures and the curtains!!. I really think it is the Phoebe Howard bedrooms in both that moved me!

    ReplyDelete
  30. All lovely, but have to pick choice 1. None of them left an impression on me the way that the first house did.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The 1st or 5th one hands down!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. #6! Gorgeous house, Amazing View, Tons of light, and kitchen and bathrooms left to my imagination... Diane

    ReplyDelete
  33. They all look beautiful in different ways, but I think No.3 is the one for me as it's more 'homey' and I like the charming location.

    ReplyDelete
  34. 6 for sure! i remember seeing this home and just wanting to blow up my house (this happens frequently). such inspiration everywhere--thanks for reminding me of this property!

    love.

    michele

    ReplyDelete
  35. Number 1 for sure! The way the sun is shining in the exterior photo is just beautiful and it looks so warm that I've opened all those small cute windows upstairs! Looks like heaven!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I like this scenario! It's between #1 and #6, but I think I will ultimately choose #1. They're all pretty fantastic though!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Choice 4 for me..... love the colours..

    ReplyDelete
  38. First Choice is #2-So sleek and private with a pool to walk right into and relax!
Second Choice #4 (looks like it has a guest house - Wow - Two for One Special!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Good morning, Tina!!

Saws are buzzing, garage doors have arrived....it's a renovation party outside my walls today. :)

As far as the beach house, let's take a room from here and a room from there. They are all amazing. But, perhaps it's b/c I have sons....I adore all those bunk bed photos. Especially the one with the "crew" pillow cases. Maybe someday....after I finish this project.

    xoxo Elizabeth

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'd have to go w/ #5... It's comfy and sophisticated all in one! But have to admit any one of them would be fabulous!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well after about 30 minutes of analyzing this, (you'd think I really had this decision to make!) I finally went with #1. My top three were 1, 5 & 6 but had to go with the pool. My second choice would be 6 and third would be 5. Whew! What a workout!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. It would be #1 or #3 for me! So difficult to decide - all beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  43. This time it was easy for me...#3. So happy my rich uncle decided to sail around the world the rest of his days. :-)
    Karen

    ReplyDelete
  44. Definitely choice #3! I love the laid-back feel of it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I love #6....could move right in. They all were beautiful and I enjoy reading this blog so much. The photo's make me smile and have an "ahhh" moment. Thank you for bringing this joy into my life. Your home is so lovely and I am a blue and white girl too.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Choice 5 is me all the way , however since it being givin to me I'll take number 6 please

    ReplyDelete
  47. Definitely #3 for me. It has the charm, warmth, coziness, and views I'd love to have in my coastal cottage. Just let me know where to sign on the dotted line!?!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Number 6 for me -- our kids would love to be right next to the beach. However, I wish those houses were not too close to each other. As always, I enjoy your Which Would You Choose posts.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Did you deliberately decide to do a post that would derail my day for much too long?!?! Honestly, this is simply not fair Tina. My answer is all. Each and every one.

However, in the spirit of taking the request to pink one (or more) to heart, I would go with number 4 and then number 1. They are all gorgeous though, this one was very (v-e-r-y) difficult!
    tp

    ReplyDelete
  50. I was going along easily envisioning myself in all of the respites until the second to the last photo. How on earth would one make those beds? The practicality brought me smashing back down to earth. Lol! All locations and rooms lend itself to a pink martini. How could I possibly choose? :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Can I please really have a rich uncle and can he please be one who is trying to "unload" his many properties on his thrilled relatives? I wish!!!! If that was the case, and I do love these little scenarios you paint (I love your imagination as much as I love your blog)!! I would after 20 min.
I kid you not of serious deliberation am going with #2. Because it looks like the ultimate super sophisticated modern beach house, the kind you walk into and immediately let out a deep exhaling breath and , as you stare out at the ocean", yep thats my home!

    ReplyDelete
  52. #1 please, the decision did not come easy but I really love each and every room.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Oh how fun, house number six is my first choice, followed closely by house number two. They are so beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Not hard to narrow it down to #1 or #6---but I can't decide between THEM!
    Can I have both??!!
    Catherine

    ReplyDelete
  55. All of these are gorgeous but since you really said anywhere...I am holding out for a beach house in Bali in the traditional style! Sending good thoughts as you continue moving in!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I love the 5th house!!! FABULOUS!! All of them are amazing homes.

    www.viningdesign.blogspot.com

    ReplyDelete
  57. Its between 3 and 6, but I thing 6 will win my vote!
    Tina-
Hope that you are enjoying your beautiful home and have gotten some much needed rest!
    Have a happy Thursday.

  58. House #6 for me, then second would be #1.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Wow, definitely Choice #1!!! And I wouldn't change a thing!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I would absolutely go with #6! All of them look wonderful, though, and I wish I could be at the beach right now!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm going 2, because right now I feel like I need a departure from my center hall colonial and would love something TOTALLY different.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I can't hep myself - it's either 1 or 6. Both absolutely stunning. Thanks for your lovely comments and thoughts too, just have to train myself not to read blogs for hours every day - it's addictive and I feel like I'm missing out if I don't. But I must get this goddamn house finished! Fabric, fabric fabric, driving me nuts......

    ReplyDelete
  63. Something about 1 is calling my name. Love every single inch. They are all truth be told amazingly beautiful though. Is the uncle also looking to unload any other homes while he is at it? We have room for more:-) Fantastic post Tina.

    ReplyDelete
  64. wow dream beach houses! so hard to choose! I like #1! xx

    ReplyDelete
  65. You don't make things easy do you?!?! But it is Robert Stern for this chickadee...it reminds me of the Summer of '42 (Although in a different location....and a different budget!) old fashioned and relaxed. Sigh....you have given me a virtual vacation for just a moment....now back to work!

    ReplyDelete
  66. We have to go with home town Rowayton Lynn Morgan is out favorite hands down.

    ReplyDelete
  67. OOOh, I'll take #5, please! Can't wait to see your house updates!

    ReplyDelete
  68. This one was difficult as they all have appeal. l have decided on # 6 after much deliberation.

    all the way!!!!!

  70. 3... definitely 3.... no, wait... 5, yeah.... definitely 5.... no wait... 1... definitely... definitely 1... wait, what was the question?

ok, seriously FIVE - yep FIVE all the way! :) Thanks for playing!

    ReplyDelete
  71. It was love at first sight for magnificnet #2, I would never feel stressed ever again if I had a house like that to go to. I would invite my family and friends and we would hang by the pool, mixing up exotic cocktails and play board games all day. Oh to dream!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Hard to choose, but I think I'll go with #1. The bathroom and kitchen won me over.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Ditto what "Design is...All in the Detail" wrote. But she didn't mention #6. Yes.....#6, that's it for me!! However,
I'd be perfectly happy in any of them.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yep 6 is for me...wow when do I get it!!!lol

    ReplyDelete
  75. #2 would be lovely because of the dramatic modern architecture, which is so different from how I live. But I have to go for #6. After all, it is Robert A.M. Stern. Who wouldn't want a house by Robert A.M. Stern??? It is beyond fabulous. Thank you, dear Uncle, for having such great taste.
    Best...Victoria

    ReplyDelete
  76. #2 rocks my world. OMG....gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  77. #1 and #5 are both incredibly gorgeous! It would probably make counting them much easier if we wern't all so wishy-washy! :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. Is that Rosemary Beach or Watercolor #6, R Stern? I just love that house. I am in love!!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I couldn't possibly decide. I'll take them all. The Stern house looks like Seaside, Florida.

    ReplyDelete
  80. My brother picked #6 I picked #2

    ReplyDelete
  81. I love them all! If I had to choose, I think I would go with Number 6....If I'm not mistaken, it is located next to the boardwalk in beautiful Watercolor, Florida and has gorgeous gulf views. It is actually one of my favorites of all the homes in the area!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Hi Tina! It's a toss between #1 and #5. I LOVE that kitchen in #1. And any room designed by Sarah Richardson has my vote. I love all the neutrals in #5, too... Oh well, I bought a lottery ticket tonight, so maybe I will get lucky enough to have a home like those for myself! Hope you had a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  83. I need this escape today! Choice #6 for me!
    (With #1 a close second)
    -Shelley

    ReplyDelete
  84. #3: best kitchen, best bathroom, best view of the ocean from the master bedroom. Delightful!

    ReplyDelete
  85. #6 for me! I grew up in southern Cali and also spent time on the Oregon coast, I prefer more 'beachy' but these are some beauts! Love the exterior of #5 too!

    ReplyDelete
  86. I love choice 3 and 6, but frankly they are all fabulous and if my rich relative was leaving me one I wouldn't care which one. I think my husband would probably leave me to sail the world on the 70 foot sailboat.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend and that you are doing well unpacking all of your treasures.

    Elizabeth

    ReplyDelete
  87. Without a doubt, my very 1st choice is house #3! I just love the colors, textures, and views. Then, for me, it's almost a tie between houses #6 and #5. But only if pressed, house #6 would win out over house #5.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Hi, really loving your blog. I love them all but somehow number 2 is just the most beautiful to me. Its very different than our house now and thats the whole idea of a getaway house. Love it.

    ReplyDelete
  89. What a dream, Thank you for staring my day off with the most beautiful daydream. I was taken away as if this could be true. I would love either # 3 or 6. I prefer the exterior of # 6, but like some of the choices for room decorating better in # 3. But I certainly would be very grateful if any of them were given to me by a relative. I would start packing.

  91. Love Friday's post!!!! I love them all, decisions, decisions!!! I love #5, the blue and white decore is amazing, but then fell in love with #6 as well. I just got a phone call from the rich relative and he declared that he was taking the yacht and was off experiencing the world, having too much fun, and was feeling so generous that he was giving the lake house and beach house to the extended family!!! Lucky day :o)!!! Packing our bags! So much fun to dream!
