In fact you have decided to throw (as I hope to do one day) a "tapas party" not a dinner with specific courses but an ongoing parade of many different appetizers, you know small bites, tell me ONE person who doesn't love eating that way! So you spend the morning finishing up some last minute shopping, its a beautiful crisp fall day, that kind of day where you crack open the windows just ever so slightly to let in some of the fresh brisk fall air. Its the perfect day to plan a party.
You light a scented candle, put on your apron and you are ready to get started in preparing all your "goodies" for that night. Of course everyone is out of the house for the day, so put on a CD that you love and get all your ingredients out ready for some serious prep work. Did I mention you get to pour yourself a glass of wine (or two if you are so inclined) to sip while you hum around the kitchen like the stylish little busy bee that you are. So here is where you come in.....which kitchen can you see this scenario playing out in? Take a look, not a bad one in the bunch and tell me which you could see "prepping in" all day!! Can't wait to see what everyone has to say....and I will share the results on Thursdays post!

Yea, I get to be the first to comment! I would have to say that the black kitchen is quite sensational.
ReplyDeleteAlways wanted to get brave and do that but doubt I ever will. Its really beautiful, they actually all but that would be my pick today, choice 7.
How fun to prep in that kitchen!
Goodness, what a beautiful array of kitchens. There were only 2 that I couldn't picture myself in - no 4, a bit OTT for me and no 12, a bit modern for me. Forced to choose - it would be no 13. I just love that rustic wood on the island and the lanterns are gorgeous. Love your posts - keep them coming! x Sharon
ReplyDeleteEach and every kitchen were wonderful, but picking only one I would say Choice #1. I am a window person, the more the better. Diane
ReplyDeleteChoice #1 I loved all the natural light. Choice #3 was my second choice, although all of them are a mile ahead of my lates 90s country kitchen (yikes, I hate a 3-D fruit backsplash - not joking!)
ReplyDeleteI love #13 the most! Also love #2 + 3 but I think #14 would be the best for entertaining! xo
ReplyDeleteChoice 15, love the funky shades, the rustic colors and feeling. Fun post!
ReplyDeleteTorn between 9, 14 & 15. They are all inspiring my kitchen banquette.
ReplyDeleteGee I feel Like I am going to write exactly what Diane did~but it is all about the natural light and having lots of windows and french doors in a kitchen combined with white marble!! So #1 is my first choice followed with #14 as a runner up. I love Clive Christian kitchens, but there was not one window in the room!!
ReplyDeleteWow!!!! This is a HARD one to choose, but #9 is so amazing!!! Great ones today!
ReplyDeleteI hope everything is great with you, Tina!
Have a Happy Day!

I am going with #1. I like a tight working area with an efficient triangle (cook top/oven, fridge, sink). #1 has that and gorgeous light and nothing distracting visually from the purpose of being in the kitchen. Love all the others too, but I see a lot of extra steps and time walking around those big islands to get from one appliance to the other.
ReplyDeleteChoice 13 in a flash. Dream kitchen for me:)
ReplyDeleteIt would be #2 for me! Love them all, Tina. You find the best images.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Tuesday!

It would have to be no. 3 for me with no. 1 a close second. For me, imaging where these are (geographically) plays into my decision! For example, the fist one feels like it's at the beach! M.
ReplyDeleteHands down, #9!!!!
ReplyDeletex KL
Except for no. 4 all other kitchens were too much alike. I didn't see a kitchen I would like to work in, a kitchen which combines the new and the old, free standing pieces along with built-ins. In other words, kitchens with character and a bit of history.
ReplyDeleteChoice 14 for me, please. I have a few of those elements in our place already: white kitchen with marble countertops, a padded bench at our table, curtains in that fabric in my husband's study, that blue is on our kitchen ceiling. Yep, number 14.
ReplyDeleteFor me it would be #7. So lovely!
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful. I'd pick #1 though because it's white, traditional and has lots of windows. This is fun.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...I can't decide but I have narrowed it down to 7,9, and 11. I guess if I can only have one, its number 7...love the crispness of it.
ReplyDeleteAnd love the idea of a tapas party. Actually, when my parents come to visit, our ritual is to pull together 6 or so tapas instead of doing a big dinner and just graze on them (and a few bottles of wine) all night.
2, 13, 15......decisions, decisions. I think 15. Love the island and the setting. Fun!
ReplyDeleteLove #13. It has such a warm inviting feeling. Great lighting.
ReplyDelete14 all the way!
ReplyDelete# 13
ReplyDeleteI'd choose #2 mainly because it looks like a hard workin kitchen and I need that for a dinner party! I love a large, uninterrupted island like that one!
ReplyDeleteI like lots of space and natural lighting in a kitchen. But, first and foremost, it needs to be uncluttered (don't even like those hanging pot racks). For sure, these photos were prepped for a photo shoot so it is hard for me to be objective. My choices will be # 3, # 7 and # 13. If I had to chose only one then it would be # 7. I wish I can see the whole kitchen.
ReplyDeleteKitchen #7! Elegant, clean, great natural light...perfect for guests. And I bet in the evening, those chandeliers cast a beautiful warmth.
ReplyDelete#11 please- the black pantry cupboard and huge amounts of marble had me at hello.
ReplyDeleteNo decision here, love #8 hands down. If your interested, second and third are 16 and 13. Another great fantasy Tina..........

The French Hutch
Oh my, this was a hard one. I'm going to go with #13. Love the wood countertop, the copper hood, even the blue plates to serve the tapas on. These pictures make me want to redo my kitchen asap!
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a difficult one. I think I'd go with #10, only if there is a beautiful view out the window on the other side of the room.
ReplyDeleteLove playing this. I have to say, I am usually all over the place in trying to decorate a room. I just love too many styles. But this is helping me see what style I prefer the most.
I like #1 the best. If #2 had more windows, I'd probably pick that. #7 is lovely, but I hate the pendants.
ReplyDeletegotta be number 2 for sure but i am also in love with 3, 7, 9, 11 Number 4 just gives me a headache. such a hard choice as always
ReplyDeleteKitchen #1. Most were great, but you nailed it with the first one for me
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful kitchens, Tina. You've made it a challenge to pick just one. My choice is number 7. It's light, airy, elegant and absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Tina!
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun.
There are so many gorgeous kitchens there and I love so many of them. I am such a white/light cabinet girl so I am shocking myself by picking this.... but it is the room as a whole that is drawing me in!
I choose number 13!
I love all the textures and surfaces used.... the copper, the rough hewn barn beam slab islabd, the warm taupe cabinets. It is high-end but an unexpected and unusual mix. Not something you see every day. It has a warm inviting glow perfect for entertaining and creates a lovely enticing mood for friends and fab food!
Love it.
xx
Alison
number one for my town home and number fifteen for my country home, a gal can dream...
ReplyDeleteDefinitely #1. That photo is from AD and of a kitchen in Nantucket, and my own kitchen is modeled after it. LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteAll very pretty! I could actually be happy in several of them. My absolute favorite is probably #13. I love the colors, textures and the copper hood (although keeping it shiny could be a pain).
ReplyDeleteFun post Tina...
#13 for me--its the plate display that won me over!!
ReplyDeleteOK Tina, Your right I am dizzy! I must of gone up and down 10 times. They were all beautiful. I love #1,6,7,9,and 14. Darn, I can not pick just one! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Fun post.
ReplyDelete#7!!! Working on a black & white kitchen now for my home. Was using Miles Redd uber Black kitchen for inspiration & now have this for a more "down to earth" mode.
ReplyDeleteBlack kitchens make me feel like I am in NYC Little Italy in the 40's and I love the vibe!
All Fabulous! Would have to go with lucky #13 - with one major design change- I would install black honed granite on the island top and have more dressy and comfortable counter stools. Love the ceiling beams, the copper hood and the counter areas. Think having another sink area would be needed! Wonder what the entire footprint of this kitchen actaully looks like! Love the limestone floors!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, you don't make these easy! They all have such different appeal, but I love sunshine and windows so I had a hard time deciding between 1 and & but if it was MY kitchen for real it would have to be #1. The next two favorites were #7 and #14.
ReplyDeleteThis one was easier for me than some of your other delightful offerings, I just loved #1 right away. The light is so lovely, something I think is critical in a kitchen. (Coming from someone who has the world's nastiest kitchen, it's ghastly, truly horrible.) I also liked the light in #12, but it seemed a little cold to me, so I am sticking with #1!
ReplyDeleteSending you a smile,
tp
I love the rustic appeal of kitchen #13!! Just beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteYou just described my perfect day! There's nothing that I love more than throwing a dinner party -- and the prep is just as fun as the event itself. The first picture is a mirror of the kitchen that I cook in -- except the French cafe chairs are actually bar stools which are on their way. But I also was drawn to 9, 13 and 14. I guess I love light, bright kitchen spaces! Thanks for the fun!
ReplyDeleteWhile #5 is wonderful, I think I'll do my humming in kitchen #9! I love kitchens that are light and bright and this one fits the bill! Be sure to stop by! Sounds like a fun night.
ReplyDeleteOh my!! How to choose?! I love 8, 12, 15 - oh really I love them all for different reasons!! Great collection - impossible to choose!!
ReplyDeletexox Gina
all lovely kitchens Tina,
ReplyDeletehard to pick a favorite...
I would pick #7! Love it!
ReplyDeleteNumber One it is. I didn't even have to scroll back through. Perfect and full of light.
ReplyDeletehave to say 14, because I'm all about the comfortable seating... it allows guests to linger - x
ReplyDeleteNot really liking many of these kitchens. All of these have been DONE just too many times already...boring! If I had to choose it would be #1 because of the natural light & windows which I love and it also has to have a great view!
ReplyDelete5 & 7 for sure! love them both
ReplyDeleteThis wasn't so clear cut for me, but in the end I choose #13. It's cozy old-world atmosphere, created by the rough wood, copper hood, and high windows, makes it an ideal backdrop for a Tapas Party. This is where I want to serve my Manchego with membrillo and Rioja Reserva - Salud!
ReplyDelete7 is HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOne or nine or...I AM getting dizzy from scrolling back and forth...great choices.
ReplyDelete1 for the natural light + 8 for the architectural elements = perfection : )
ReplyDeleteOh my, at first I said #1 and #9 and then as I scrolled down you have one of my all time fav kitchens posted and that is #14 hands down. I have had this very kitchen in my inspiration file for 3 years, ever since I first saw this kitchen it spoke to me! Love love it and I also love making these kind of dream like choices, too fun. Happy Week, Tina, Kathysue
ReplyDelete#1 is my favorite, although you are so right, almost all of them are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Tina,
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adored reading your set up for this post...it sounds like a prefect day in preparation for a perfect evening! I did have to go back a few times, but then the choice was clear.
#1 - This space would make me feel right at home, many of the elements are similar to mine and I love a white kitchen. The cafe chairs and the bar stools add just a little warmth and texture to the space.
#2 - I love certain parts of the second choice...like the exposed brick, open shelving, the counter and the pendants over it, but still I think I would feel like I'm in someone's beautiful kitchen other than mine.
#9 - I love this one too! It has all the stuff I love, plus looking out the window it looks as though it might be in a city...that's intriguing...the space looks as though it could be a loft? I do love the comfortable seating around the cafe table too.
Very fun post!
annie
Lucky 13! AND, can you please share where you found this kitchen, must know!! Janell
ReplyDeleteChoice 5 for me...love the large windows and island.
ReplyDeleteClearly a hard choice as every single one tops my little kitchen....but 2, 8 and 13 had me at hello!!!
ReplyDeletexoxo Elizabeth
OMG!!! My first pic is 1, but 7 & 11 are a close second.
ReplyDeleteI made it this time, Tina!! Now I can vote!!! Definitely no 7!!!!! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLove, Kristin
There are some fab kitchens there! Definitely 1, 6 or 9 :)
ReplyDeleteWhow, they are all fabulous! Love the warms of 2, Love the marble on number 11 and the length of the kitchen nice and open. Number 13 has a very rustic flare that says welcome and stay a while. While number 15 has a great country feel.
ReplyDeleteI think number 2 for me....it has me all over it!
Hands down #1 as I'm going through the process of redesigning our kitchen and this is look I'm trying to achieve. At this point, I can barely fit six people so my tapas party may be a bit smaller than yours!
ReplyDeletexxoo
Numero Uno, please! I've stalked this kitchen many times - love the ceiling and how it reflects the light, the french bistro chairs, the white cabinets, wood floors, honed dark countertops... love it!
ReplyDelete#1 all the way! It's light, airy, great pop of color with the blue and would meet all my needs.
ReplyDeleteYou always have the best blogs Tina. I am a huge fan!

London, Ontario Canada.
You are not playing fair Tina, there are way to many fabulous kitchens to choose just one. I am torn between, 1, 9, 13 and 14. I love them all!
ReplyDeleteI hope your week is going well! Looking forward to all of your updates this week.
Have a great day! Elizabeth
This was hard for me today. It is between 1 and 3. I'm leaning towards 1. I like bar seating for at least 4 if I'm going to have a bar. I was
ReplyDeletevery practical in this choice.
EQUAL TIE FOR ME BETWEEN, 2, 6,7 AND 16, WHAT A UNIQUE COLOR...LOVE THE HEIGHT IN THE CEILINGS IN THE LAST ONE TOO.
ReplyDeleteOMG - these are getting harder every week! I thought the bathrooms were a tough choice! I think I am going to go with number 7...
ReplyDeleteTina these are all quite beautiful though none hold a candle to what will soon be your finished kitchen! However with the ones at hand, I love choice 8 or 9 the most.
ReplyDeleteFun post.
I love the scene you set, I love the idea of being a stylish busy bee flitting around the kitchen, cooking wouldn't feel like such a chore in these kitchens!!
ReplyDeleteIts a dead tie for me between 7 and 13, both so warm. Surprised so many like 1 its very cold and boring feeling in its predictable seen everywhere white. 7 and 13 exude the perfect combination of warmth and elegance.
They are all beautiful, but I'd have to go with #7. # 12 is a very close second place.
ReplyDeleteKitchen number 7 has it all for me.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love these! #'s 1, 7 and 13 ... love the light in #1, Love the rustic warmth of 13 ... but love the flitting around prepping and having the dining area so beautiful right there in #7!!
ReplyDeletechoice 8! and i love tapas!
ReplyDeleteLove your scene that you set. You are my kind of friend, I bet going to your house is loads of fun.
ReplyDeleteWithout question its chioce 7 for me. Perfect!
Number 5! I love the light that those huge windows let in and it's so spacious. A lot of the others look too cramped for me.
ReplyDeleteI love number 2
ReplyDeleteI love to see outside when I am prepping. These are all wonderful kitchens but I like #14 best.
ReplyDelete4 - I'm a sucker for dark wood in a kitchen. I find it so inviting and cozy.
ReplyDeleteNumbers 7 and 13 are really pretty, too, and the blue in 16 is gorgeous.... but in the end I gotta go with #4.
Kristin
There is something about each one that I love, but I suspect if I had to I would choose #6. It has both form and function. Since I love to cook and spend quite a bit of time in the kitchen I would go for the sunny open feel with lots of light, making it easy on the eye!
ReplyDeleteNumber one!! It's light and airy -- if I'm going to be there all day, that's a requirement.
ReplyDeleteI'll take number 13 with a glass of red wine please. Thank you Tina! ~ Redema
ReplyDeleteyou are kidding me right????
ReplyDeletei think #7 is a lot of what you are doing...
but not quite.
you are killing me.....i am getting sea sick going up and back to pick a number.
11, 13 & 16....how is that?
could you give fewer choice for the tired and weary?
love you tina
your home will be an absolute work of art when YOU say it is complete. xxxx
It was a real challenge to pick just one. My choice is # 1
ReplyDeleteNumber 1 and then Number 8. All are beautful and you gave us great choices.
ReplyDeleteNumber 1 for sure!
ReplyDeleteAhh I love all of them! I'll go with number 14 because it looks most like me. I love tapas. It's the best way to eat. Since I'm hosting I get to have that extra glass of wine (not driving & slaved all day getting the house ready) so I will be extra fun at this gathering.
ReplyDeleteNumber 13 is my favorite. I like a kitchen with a big island at counter height, because I am vertically challenged. Bar height doesn't work for me. The island in this one adds such charm to the space. The copper hood is gorgeous and I love the glass fronted cabinet for displaying china. I also love the large lanterns. #11 and #15 are appealing as well because of the size of the islands, but #13 wins it for me.
ReplyDeleteBest...Victoria
So Beautiful, but the first one is my favorite. It is so fresh and bright, with number 7 a close second. These two I would never tire of.
ReplyDeleteI love these kitchens. My favorites are 7, 8 and 14.. love the style and the comfort of these. What a dream.. good for you!
ReplyDelete#12, BUT I would glass front some cabs. & go with black on floor. I like everything is close. Im a lazy cook! Oh that ceiling would have to go. IMO makes room heavy.
ReplyDeleteI love #15!! Just gorgeous! Where can I order it?
ReplyDelete7 if I ever build a house again..13 is the closest to what I chose for our house, love how segreto does the cabinets and walls!
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful, a very tough choice, but I love the natural light in kitchen
ReplyDelete1and it just looks like home.
Oh so tempting and following a few scrolls, I shall settle for No. 14. A tapas party is excellent and I think I shall hire some help to keep the hot tapas coming from the oven while I mix and mingle
ReplyDeleteWonderful post
Helen xx
#8. My gut tells me so:-)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm saying this as I am a white kitchen gal, but I am loving #2. The open shelving, the fabulous island and the gorgeous chandeliers...loved it all. Could definitely see myself entertaining here!!
ReplyDeleteOh what a fabulous collections of kitchens! Love them all, but number 13..just is me! Add some terra cotta pavers and I would be swooning!
ReplyDeleteNumber 7, without a doubt!
ReplyDelete#7 and then #1 - both I think not only for the design but the wonderful light! It is one of the reasons we need to renovate our kitchen - more windows to let the wonderful light in... am currently working on a bedroom and bath - adding chair rail and frame moulding ... how did you decide??.. a lot more work than I thought, but I love the look - would be a great topic!:)
ReplyDelete#7 I just love it.
ReplyDelete//Camilla
Yes I scrolled back and forth.....#1 and #9 for me but if I only get one take #1.
ReplyDeleteI just want to thank you for sending such beautiful people my way dearest; I am very late here because again, WORK is really pulling me in all directions. I WILL TAKE ANY OF THESE ROOMS, but that kitchen with the dark gray hood is a winner for me! MUCH LOVE, TINA! Anita
ReplyDeleteWhy I hate to choose from those kitchens! But I'm going with choice 13 if I had to. I wish we could switch to any of these any day. Enjoy the fabulous day, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteNone compare to your beautiful kitchen but these are all quite beautiful in one way or another.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite would have to 7, 13 or 6, sorry I cannot pick just one. Would be happy to be working in any of these!
There is no way I can pick just one. I love many of them. The ones I love all have a common thread...they look like stylish work stations, there aren't upholstered pieces that will be stained or in need of washing for me to worry about, there is easy movement in the kitchen and finally the important kitchen triangle effect that I like since I'm always in my kitchen whipping up a meal.
ReplyDeleteI liked #4 and #13. They were all fabulous in their way. Thanks for giving us these wonderful choices. Was your kitchen anywhere in there?
ReplyDelete#8- guess I'm in the minority. Love ornate and bling.
ReplyDeleteChoice #2 has the perfect layout for a cook's kitchen and would be beautiful to entertain in as well. I am a messy cook and it looks like it might be it's own separate room that you could close off if you needed to for the party - bonus! My own kitchen layout most closely resembles #3 and sometimes the big sink smack in the middle of my island is a hindrance when cooking. Fun things to think about as usual!
ReplyDeletePut me down for #13 also, that wood topped island along with those green cabinets, gorgeous! Can not go wrong with that copper hood either.Almost all of those kitchens are to die for, next time you run this contest a picture of your kitchen will be in there.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE number 13. The rustic wood island is to die for. Love the lighting as well.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI choose #13. Love the rustic look on the island. My kitchen now is basically #8---funny how tastes change!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was EASY! Had to be only #4,dark and cozy.It could have only been better if there had been a little round kitchen under a hill in a hobbit home.
ReplyDeleteLove the space in 5 but 8 it is!!! Send the contractors - I'm ready to start!
ReplyDeletenumber one! that was fun!
ReplyDeletejoan
#1 That light streaming in seals it for me!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first comment on your blog. I found your site after a Google search for an image of rustic Tuscan rooms and the open stone hallway featured in post May 10th came up. I LOVE YOUR BLOG and will siubcribe. I spent the entire weekend from start to finish. So sorry you lost post one. Well #7 was my favorite under I scrolled to #10 but when I got to # 13 That was the one! Can't wait to see your home all decorated and complete.
ReplyDelete#5. I like the over-sized island. I can see placing a large spread of appetizers on it and sitting, eating, drinking, and being merry for a long time!
ReplyDeleteMadame - Will you be going abroad again this year?
Victoria Hagan #1
ReplyDeleteAhhhh... my head is spinning!! #14 has always been a favorite of mine, but tonight I'm digging the mood in #13. It's so warm and cozy that I might actually enjoy cooking! I would definitely enjoy sitting alone, having a glass of wine and listening to music in that spot!!
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm visiting from Anita's blog! Oh this is a fun post... I just redid my kitchen {because it reallllly needed it!} and I just love the first one... I also like #14. Creamy and soft... warm and welcoming.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to stop by... I'm off to read your other posts!
~Maria
#1 is the winner for me!
ReplyDelete#3, I love 3 :)
ReplyDeleteClaudia xo
Hi Tina, Can I combine kitchen #9, 13 and 14? They are all beautiful kitchens.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sherry
Choice #1, choice #1, choice #1!!! I didn't even have to look at the other options...choice #1 is MY future kitchen :)
ReplyDelete#1 hands down favorite! Love white kitchens, marble and lots of windows!
ReplyDelete1 or 9 for me. But they are all gorgeous!
ReplyDeletebrilliant post... it first glance i love 5 and i think 13...(cannot remember and i just looked... ugh... ) they are all so lovely and would feel fortunate to be in any one of them... xo
ReplyDeleteNumber 9. Perfection.
ReplyDeleteI was gong to say 2 until I saw 7, and then 7 until I saw 11. 11 it is for me!
ReplyDeleteStacy
Ps...holy comments batman! You go girl!
Definitley #9...LOVED!!!
ReplyDeletexo J~
No 1 is by far the least cluttered. Drop the height of the bench and put the stools under, and lighter colour even cane.. Change the light fittings especially over the table to something still making a statement but gentler on the eye. It looks fresh and clean....could be Aussie....open up your space so you can enjoy it all at one time....table and chairs great colour as well as size....look at the photo and envisage looking at an open space rather than looking up at a bench at bar height. Good Luck!! Karlie Melbourne
ReplyDeleteOh forgot to say...it needs a bunch of Basil in vase and some great looking bottles of olive oil and vinegars in a container on the bench near hot plates...and mayb an alessi silver bowl with lemons and limes. Put some food out..even a vertical stack of oranges apples and bananas..Ha!!!!! Oh and on the side of the hot plates a low bowl with chillies, garlic etc... dont need flowers!!! think of "Its Complicated" dvd..kitchen.....inviting to stop with a glass of wine....Karlie Melbourne
ReplyDeleteI love NO 1 I like the light and openess. Love the
ReplyDeletekitchen
there are a lot of nice choices but my favorite would be number 7. maybe it's because of the contrasting colors and the design.:)
ReplyDeleteAll so very nice! I thought # 5 was it until I saw # 13 love it~Cheers Kim
ReplyDeleteI know I am probably late for this but I love the warmth of 3 and 13..those would be mine by process of elimination..love this post!
ReplyDeleteAs usual I am late...late...late to this party but I am loving 14 and 15!!! 9 nudged me a little also!
ReplyDeleteDeffinitely #14! I love this kitchen!!
ReplyDeleteI loved no.1,9, and 14. All beautiful but these were light, brigt, original and really cozy. I guess I can dream.
ReplyDelete
