Hi there!! If you missed my house updates yesterday, click here. I also got lots of questions about various things we have done in the house. So first I start wtih answering some of those questions and then move onto to the posts to ponder. Back by popular demand, another fabulous round up of gorgeous inspirational, educational, moving and beautiful posts. Something that triggered a reaction in me enough to bookmark it and want to share it with you. I love going through old posts for inspiration and there are so many winners out there! So if you have a little extra time on your hands this weekend, spend some time going through these, I promise they are all well worth the time!! Let me know if you really enjoyed one or enjoyed all! This is but a handful so there will be plenty more to share in the months ahead. Without further ado.......
A FEW QUESTIONS FROM YESTERDAY AND MY ANSWERS.....
1. Who makes these earrings and where can I buy them?
Arent' they amazing! They are from House of Lavande, click here to see them as well as check out all of their other amazing vintage pieces. Warning its highly addicting!
2. Is my butlers pantry a stain or paint? Its a very dark stain, in fact we went with the darkest stain I could find. I kept telling my cabinet marker "darker, darker" and finally we got this really rich dark java. You see the grain every so slightly which is just what I wanted. The island is black paint.
3. What are my thoughts on marble and what do I say to those who want to use it but are being told its a big mistake? Well, I make no secret of my love for marble especially white marble. Bring it on! I say two things...A. Go to the most casual pizzeria in Europe or the fanciest Michelin starred restaurant in Europe and visit their kitchens and what will you see.... marble! Lots of it. If its good enough for their wear and tear, its good enough for me. B. I had it in my old house and seriously there was not a day that I didn't walk into my kitchen sighing with delight over that marble, it gave me more happiness than I can explain. Even on my really bad days (and we all have them) just looking at my marble was like instant therapy! Seriously in this house there was NO second choice. It was marble or marble. End of story.
4. Whats the name of the manufacturer for the hardware for the butlers that I featured yesterday? Its from RK international, glad you all like it and click here for their website.
5. Who makes the lantern that I showed for the kitchen island? One of my favorite companies, Decorative Crafts. They make absolutely gorgeous high quality lighting. Click here to visit.

Tina, you are amazing! I don't know how you do everything you do and then manage to share it so beautifully on your blog. It's like you are a little kid in a candy shop and can't get enough of the wonderful things life has to offer! I think it must be the Pete's coffee. They make it strong, but isn't it the best??
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of the great resources, Tina. Have a great holiday wknd! xo
ReplyDeleteTina I love yoyr generous spirit and wonderful taste! How kind of you to share these terrific looking posts! Can't wait tp delve in! ReplyDeleteTina - two doses of your incredible kindness in one day! What a lucky Friday. :) Thank you so much for featuring my post!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm off to visit these other great blogs to discover some great new stuff I'm sure. And - good point about the marble - hadn't thought about it that way but if they all choose it, it must be the right choice.
Have a fantastic weekend...your package will be on its way shortly. ;)
Greetings, Tina! I have a cold to beat all colds right now and could spend all day enjoying these blogs, with my feet up. I love your thoughts about marble! Our contractor discouraged me as well about marble, but as you say, it's stood the test of time and it IS gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteyour butlers pantry.
ReplyDeletegood call!!!
i just refinished a table yesterday the same way.

your advice on marble is great. i need to start checking out the places that have them, because i LOVE marble... and am always sad when it's discouraged. i searched forever in our last home to find a white/grey granite to pull of a similar look, and i loved it... but, as we both know, it isn't the same. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch truly pretty posts to ponder! I love this series.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day, Tina!

These are so fabulous blogs, most I knew of, Vignette is one of my favorites! The otheres I will have to check out this weekend. Blog reading is very addicting and almost like an M.C Escher sketch...you go to a beautiful blog, then check out their blog list, then do the same with the next, and then nest...on to invinity!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend and thank you for sharing your sources.

You nailed it with explaining the marble thing~just a week ago hubs, son and I were in an old candy shop that is a hundred years old. Photos of the owner posing with Betty White when she was a starlet, and many others from the 30s and 40s adorn the walls. And all the tables are original marble topped bistro style tables! I remarked to hubs to look at the old marble, how lovely it was. You are soooo right about that Tina!
ReplyDeleteTina, you are too sweet for words! Coming here is always a delight, but then today I came over and saw you put one of my posts up! Thank you so much :)

So many gorgeous links from great bloggers! I am still regretting my decision that I allowed myself to be talked out of marble countertops! xo
ReplyDeleteTina, being a newer follower of your blog I have to tell you I LOVE IT! It is my new favorite. You really do a fantastic job. I got through the first four of the posts above, and they are all so good, I can see why you bookmarked them. ReplyDeleteTina, I love this post. The links are great, some of which I follow, however it is a good feeling to see that others love my blog friends just as much!

Thank YOU for the link here today! Such a nice surprise. Looking forward to visiting all the other sites. I love it when I get pointed in the direction of other great blogs!
ReplyDeletethere was no other choice for us as well...it was marble or nothing! We toyed with soap stone for a bit, but that idea left the building so to speak very quickly. We've had some etching and a few chips and I say bring it on too...the best and oldest kitchens in Italy and France take pride in their well worn marble counters...and do we!
ReplyDeleteThe Lavande site is so fun...such beautiful baubles!!
xo J~
How fun to share all the goodies of blog land. Marble is the only choice if you ask me...but you didn't have to. It speaks a language of its own in the finest of homes an has throughout time. Love hearing others questions and it amazing how much we retain and learn from others too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Thank you so much for mentioning HomeBunch, Tina!
ReplyDeleteYou're truly so kind! And I'm so glad you enjoyed that house too. :-)

Those earrings are incredible! Wow. These are such great recommendations, went through a few, loved the spanish moss, the pesto post and the Tuscany post (had my honeymoon there so its a very special place in my heart)
ReplyDeleteI love that you show us the best of the best.
Tina - This is off-subject, forgive me, but I have been wondering....It is said that we, all of us, decorate similar to the way that we dress, and visa-versa. Question - Do you dress as classy and elegant as you decorate? What are some of your favorite brands or pieces? I am guessing that you would be a fan of scarves?
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for the beautiful blog that I enjoy every morning!
Can't get anymore off subject than this, but here goes...can anyone give more info on the spectacular handbag in the pic for "Simply Luxurious Life" ? Please, it's one of those gotta-have-it bags.
ReplyDeleteBTW -just out of curiosity- what's the sq footage of your gorgeous home in progress? Absolutely, incredibly be-yu-ti-ful.
That іs a grеat tіp ρartiсularly tο those new to thе blogosphere.
ReplyDeleteBгіеf but veгy prесіѕе information… Thаnk you for shагing thіs оne.
