Sunday showhouse.......and you're invited!

Happy Sunday! So nice to know its Sunday...a day to relax and do as we please. Over here I am going to go take Teddy for a walk...... The sun is out after a very stormy night last night so its great to be welcomed by bright sunshine again! Anyway today's house tour is taking you first to an interesting community just outside Tuscon,Arizona...in Mirval. Then we climb aboard a yacht....which feels more like a house then its back on dry land and to the city that never sleeps, Manhattan and a high in the sky paradise that is an art lovers dream. So here we go.........

TUCSON, ARIZONA In this community of just 16 villa style homes, "The villas of Miraval" is comprised of 16 gorgeous tasteful homes built within the 400 acres of the Miraval resort. Here residents have the best of both worlds, the total isolation of being in the middle of the desert yet having every modern convenience at their beck and call. The interiors are elegant, where cool neutrals are used and I love how the outdoors is brought in to create a very cohesive feel. Elegant understated decor is the common thread as seen in each of the beautiful rooms in this home. Step on in and see for yourself.....

Love the walls of glass that open to the desert sky (but hopefully not the scorpions)

Now this is what I call a bathroom...yep thats the bathtub and shower!

HIGH SEAS.Once you have had enough of the desert, we are moving onto something far more exotic..get ready for this....we are boarding a yacht! Though it feels more like a private home. Welcome aboard the Nautical Splendor where no expense has been spared..beautiful gleaming woods, rich nautical fabrics and elegant finishes grace every inch of this svelte vessel. Your guests will not be disappointed nor will they turn down an invitation to be wined and dined on the high seas. Climb aboard and have a look......

What do you think of the jellyfish inspired chandelier in the dining room? Only here does it work!

Does entertaining get any better than in a setting like this?

Book reading would take on new meaning sitting on a chaise lounge here

MANHATTAN, NY And last we go to the exciting non stop metropolis of Manhattan to the dramatic, fabulous over the top apartment recently decorated by top designer, Michael S.Smith. With killer views of Central Park, this magnificent apartment is the perfect showcase for a mega art collection and growing family of antiques. This stunner is the culmination of four years of collecting and  Michael's razor sharp eye for scouring for fine antiques. What is so interesting about this apartment is the very eclectic fusion of styles..you will find traditional, oriental, neo classic, modern, art deco, Beidermeier with a heavy influence of French and like a grand orchestra, they all come together to make beautiful music. Come on inside and see for yourself.....

Love the gray tones of this banquette seating in the dining area

Love the old world feeling of this drawing room

Her dressing room done in gold leaf..but of course

This is his bath....so luxuriously  masculine

Well there you have it, three fabulous places...each so unique and so incredibly gorgeous! Which is your favorite? Would love to know. I hope you are enjoying a wonderful Sunday.

  3. Love the Manhattan apartment! When I lived there just out of college, I would walk up and down the streets trying to get a glimpse inside the apartments and brownstones to see how they live. I love the pretty banquette seating area with the velvet chairs. I'm saving that for my files!

  4. That first home in Arizona is just so well designed. The outdoor shower is fabulous. The materials used were so appropriate and the furnishings didn't scream to be noticed to draw attention away from that view. So well done. All are spectacular! Thanks for the look.

  6. "The villas of Miraval" EXACTLY my new style & location. HOWEVER, to be PERFECT for me in my *FANTASY* world! Would have a several hundred/thousand acre compound (word used loosely)with other homes for my family & friends. A shop of my favorite foods & necessitates. LAST though not least a *HELICOPTER* (one of my tip top fav. things) for me to fly!to wherever need to be! OHHHHHH & a super strong fence to keep my pets safe from coyotes. So neither coyotes nor pets get hurt!
    ~muy perfecto~ !

  7. Wow all of these are so spectacular, it would be hard to choose...that yacht is out of this world. Agree about the reading on the chaise, a dream! The Manhattan apt. is so incredible, I love the mixing of styles very alive and intersting and of course the calm interiors of the desert home are lovely as well. Beautiful places, I would be happy going to any one of them!

  8. Three such amazing and opulent places to live and so beautiful but my favorite is the Tucson home. It’s so open and the views are stunning and after living in Arizona for sixteen years I know how wonderful the weather is unlike NH.

  9. I would happily take any of these for different reasons. Arizona, because I really need to see some sunshine right now and it looks like the perfect spot to do so. The yacht, who wouldn't want to spend some time on this one? Puts the yacht my family had when I was a child to shame. And, the apartment in Manhattan is absolutely stunning!!!

  11. OMgosh! So elegant! My favorite spot to be of all the pics would be the lounge chairs under the umbrella on the yacht. But the one that is "me" is the New York beauty. The style, colors, all of it is me.
    Thanks for all the gorgeousness!

  12. Ah that was a lovely escape indeed. I'd definitely pick that magnificent NY apartment, thought I'd be fighting tooth and nail with hubby who would most certainly die for that yacht. All gorgeous- thanks for the lovely break on a dreary Sunday here.

  13. How can you argue with a yacht in Bermuda...? fabulous!

  14. All three are fabulous but my vote is for the Manhattan apartment. I can just see myself living there. A girl can dream. Have a great Sunday. Mona

  15. Wow! Tina that yacht is incredible and it even had coral pillows which I love! You always take us on the best tours around the world....thank you! Happy Palm Sunday!

  16. Well, I'm completely totally absolutely blown away by this post. Just so fabulous! Koodoos to you X10! I hate the high-desert environs, even though the house itself, in another setting, is great. Don't like looking out on a barren rock-laden vista. The yacht? Absolutely could live there 365, and would if someone asked me to. And, an apartment in NYC would be so much fun (I would live there in a heartbeat!!). That silvered sitting room is perfection to me. Thank you for making my Sunday afternoon so much better. Girls can dream.......

  17. Tina,

Great eye candy from the desert to the sea. What's not to like except the time and distance to enjoy it all. Virtually we click to take us there much like (Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz) and magic happens. I'm so amazed at how much there is to enjoy with different location varieties. Happy Sunday!

  18. Since I just got home from a cruise, and am still very much in an "at sea" frame of mind, I choose the yacht!! Did you see the post I did last week on the "floating condo?". Being on the cruise only made my interest in these gorgeous vessels stronger!

  19. I could certainly spend a few weeks or so....on the place "first image" and a few more in a chaise lounge at the "Book reading"!
    Pure luxury!
Unfortunately there is still plenty more to do in our garden, weeding and digging....So, these places have to wait while I keep dreaming!
Lovely post and just right for me to start the week.
    Greetings from the PĂ©rigord

  20. I could spend some very enjoyable times in the Arizona home & on the yacht. But, the "be all end all" for me is the breathtakingly beautiful Manhattan, NY home!

  21. First I would want to chill out in AZ with a few of my girlfriends just hanging, golfing and gossiping..then I would want to spend a week aboard the luxurious yacht with my hubby then meet my entire family back at the Manhattan apartment for a great big party.. cuz thats one heck of a place to throw one heck of a party in!

  29. I absolutely love the home near Tucson. It reminds me of some Tucson residential real estate I just looked at in the suburb Marana. The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain are the properties that I love near Tucson. I really want to live in such a serene and luxurious environment like The Residences. The homesites there all have stunning views, and residents have access to the resort amenities and Jack Nicklaus golf course, perfect resort living.
