So what do you think? Which room makes your heart go pitter patter? What makes a room showstopping and something to remember to you? For me, there are so many elements that have to come together, a room just has to feel authentic, and right, have a cohesive palette, have great lighting, good flooring, has to be inviting without sacrificing elegance. I love having images of beautiful rooms to refer back to and to learn from. Would love to know which is your favorite! Hope your day is wonderful and enchanting!
Tina,
ReplyDeleteLooking at the pictures you posted, two groups are apparent: the old fashioned, ostentatious 90's look that says "look at me! I'm rich, which means I have a lot of money to spend on all these expensive items to make my house look elegant"; and the current look which is more subtle, cleaner, uncomplicated and which shows that people don't need a lot of stuff to create beautiful spaces. I think the latter look is calmer and more soul fulfilling.
Wow what gorgeous rooms.....had to look 3 times to take them all in. I love all the wood paneled rooms (being English its in my blood..haha) and that master thats done in soft blues is exquisite, all the rooms however are really beautiful, you have wonderful refined taste.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, what a beautiful way to start my morning. So many great rooms, makes me want to run home and redocorate! That first kitchen is amazing, I am partial to darker kitchens not a white kitchen gal at all...the proportions are incredible. Enjoy your day...
ReplyDeleteThe rooms that draw me in are the ones with lots of windows, or doors, spilling in with natural light!

It is supposed to snow here in Boston later today. So over it! My favorite is the girl's room - LOVE! xx
ReplyDeleteAhh you have the best pictures! I love the rooms by Cathy Kincaid and Charlotte Moss. I know that living room by Cathy Kincaid very well! It happens to be where my best friend grew up. We've been best friends since preschool and her first house inspired the name of my blog. The first time I ever even thought about decorating was when she got her first "big girl bed." It was a gorgeous canopy draped in Brunschwig & Fils chintz, very Mario Buatta. I thought, I want to to do that some day! This is why I love decor so much. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have got real taste and style. These look like the old arch Digest magazines. I love everything you have chosen. You should be in business. Some of the design work out there is horrible. yvonne
ReplyDeleteLovely blog, Tina. I am looking forward to seeing your home when it's finished - I am sure it will be smashing! P.S. I recognized your blogger icon! Looks familiar.
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful rooms. I love the Old World look in some of these rooms and the French in others, and yes I adore the Jack Arnold kitchen also!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, tina.

Lots of beautiful rooms!! I especially love the girls' room with the built in bunks and the kitchen with the beautiful linen striped chairs.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's snowing here! All my friends in TN are talking about what they're doing out doors and the cute sandals they're wearing... Jealous!! Love the pics... the kitchen with the sunflowers is so fresh and welcoming. Then again, I think any room with sunflowers feels welcoming!

ReplyDeleteThere is a photo in the middle of an ivory and power blue bedroom that is the bedroom of my dreams. Someday.....
Anything by William Eubanks gets me swooning and I'm madly in love with that kitchen Steve designed from Velvet and Linen. We had four inches of snow on Monday and will get another six inches between tonight and tomorrow...Happy spring!
ReplyDeleteTina,

Tina, I can't believe it's snowing in New York again. I would be crazy,by now. Gorgeous rooms. Some of my old personal favorites here. Mona
ReplyDeleteYou can appreciate the craftsmanship from the woodworking in the first photo to the expert sewing and eye for color in the blue and white bedroom. The details are what I find so inspirational. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe bunkroom...perfection!!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the rooms with the dark wood! I think they would look beautiful in your home because you have those large windows that will let in lots of sunshine. I adore! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteAre you sure this isn't your vision board for your new home? I see many things that resemble some the bones being built in your new home. Lots of light, large windows, window seat, stove, marble, beautiful color palette, long hallway , panel wood wall. It is all so wonderful no wonder your picture file folders house so many great items. Now your building it! Love it.
Bette
I love that bunk room! The soft palette kitchen too - For me, I love simple lines with a splash of color. All stunning images to spend hours studying.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your enchanted home. Are you in NY?
pve
I love the bunk room - I don't have a daughter to use the room, but I think it would be a fun guestroom - when we have guests over, it's usually an entire family, and someone ends up having to sleep on an air mattress in our home theater - it would be nice if everyone could have their own beds (of course, it's not practical for the older members of the family!)
ReplyDeleteThis post is amazing. You really did your homework and have incredible taste, I can only imagine how amazing your home is going to turn out. I can't wait, way way too many incredible rooms here to name just one. They are all dream worthy.
