So...whats your thoughts on using wallpaper? I know all you savvy decor divas (and kings) have an opinion. Do you like them or love them? Do you think the use of wallpaper follows any kind of trend or do you think its being used as often as ever? Is it "in" one year and passe the next? Do you think its used as often in today's ever changing design world as it once was? Oh well.....trend or no trend, I personally love wallpaper!

Great post Tina! I'm insane over wallpaper and I particularly love the pale silk and the cherry blossoms.
ReplyDeleteI use wallcovering quite a bit in my work and just hung a gray/green/griege grasscloth in my foyer.
Glad you liked my post on Baccarat…they are very unique pieces. I am looking forward to seeing your antique Baccarat in your new home.
Happy Friday!
Best,

Tina, what a fantastic post. Such good timing, considering wallpapering my bedroom and a guest bath so this provides lots and lots of great and needed inspriation. Beautiful pictures.Thank you so much...so excited about the lamps, they are really incredible, what a giveaway. I am a follower so keeping my fingers crossed, I have just the home for them...come home to mama!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Post! Do you know where the image and wallpaper are for number 34? It is my favorite of the group and I'd love to find it!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Deborah
Sorry - meant I'm looking for the name of the manufacturer for #34. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI admire anyone who can pick out wallpaper. I do love it, but the idea of selecting the very thing turns my little brain in mush: professional help required at my house. Of course I still have bad dreams about removing the wallpaper in our big big bathroom. It took years and cost thousands of lives.
ReplyDeleteBTW my favorite is #12...so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHey Tina!
ReplyDeleteOK, those lamps are absolutely stunning! Talk about a fabulous giveaway. As for the wallpaper, I think it is a must in the type of house you are building. I think in a small bungalow, I can take it or leave it. But in a larger home, it really is essential to creating a cozy vibe. Additionally, I think fabric wallpaper is divine. In fact, Christine at http://bijouandboheme.blogspot.com/ does a Wednesday Wallpaper post that has the most comprehensive collection of papers I have ever seen. They are all so very unique. It truly is amazing what is out there. So, to answer your question about wallpaper, "yes, please!"
All the pictures are gorgeous, love the way wallpaper changes a room. As much as I love it, I get tired of it and then stuck with it. I've built and decorated six houses, five of them had wallpaper. Number six, you won't find the first hint of wallpaper......I find I enjoy patterns in my accessories, pillows, art anything I can change on a whim. No more paper for this girl. Your home is big enough to handle anything, only problem you'll have is picking out a pattern. Have fun decorating your home. Also love the lamps in your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love wallpaper. I am using an Albert Handley for Hinson paper in my daughter's room and I am in love. I am doing wallpaper on the ceiling in my son's nursery and glasscloth on our master bedroom walls. Wallpaper has come a long way. The striped bedroom reminds me of my childhood bedroom...had pink and white striped RL paper. Of thse, I love what Gambrel did with the closet doors. I love the pale silk in the bedroom and love the cherry blossomed bath. I've got a Thom Filicia bedding giveaway expiring tomorrow...would love for you to stop by. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThese are all fantastic images Tina, the mint green just made my hear go pitter-pat! And those with matching fabric are so elegant, a look I grew up with and miss seeing more of these days.
ReplyDeleteSending you wishes for a wonderful weekend!

I love the gold leaf overlay wallpaper - wow! Very cool. I love metallic, graphic or grasscloth wallpapers the best. I like wallpaper best in small, special places that need some perk...a powder room, hallway or closet (loved it on the doors in the dressing room you showed, by the way). Very nice ideas here! http://bjdhausdesign.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI have the pale blue and grey wallpaper shown in the powder room. I am going to use it in my guest room. I wish I could paper my 18ft tall walls but I cannot imagine how!
ReplyDeleteI love toile wallpaper. Love it! I don't think toile ever looks dated!
Thanks for the lovely post!
~Andie
All great images, most more traditional than my liking but still very inspirational. I am currently on the hunt for the perfect wallpaper for our powder room & my walk-in closet.
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteI love how much personality wallpaper brings into a room. So the space in the room feels comfortable right away. Wallpaper really works in guest rooms that aren't occupied on a daily basis.
My favorites are the pale, soft colored papers with the exception being #23 fun paper. It's so easy to lose yourself in all wallpaper possibilities. I don't always like the matching paper with fabric unless the room is extremely large then it
draws your focus in. Otherwise the two to close feels cramped.
Exciting when choices have to be made for sure. Thanks for sharing such a wide range of papers and their ultimate room destination.
Bette
Love it only if it's super subtle as in the coastal room, although, what fun the laundry room paper is!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower! Hope it's not too late. Thanks!
ReplyDeletei love wallpaper
ReplyDeleteand never stopped loving it!!
how could wallpaper fall out of favor
and that awful faux painting fall into favor?
loved this post.xx
I am thinking of wallpaper for my dining room which is actually a total change of mind for me. After peeling 2 layers of the stuff off the walls I swore I would never have my hands touch another room of the stuff!! Funny how time changes all things!

Tina,
ReplyDeleteYou never, ever disappoint me here. Truly.
About your giveaway.... I was daydreaming with it last night! I was imagining it on my night stand! How sad is that??? LOL
I like wallpaper. I don't have it at home, but after seeing this post, I wish I could do something with my powder room. I think it can be so elegant. The only thing is, I'm selling our house, so I won't do anything now, but hopefully in our next home. Great inspirations here, Tina! I especially love the 1st picture! Wow!
Have a Great Weekend, sweetie and thank you so much for your daily comments. I really like reading them!

I'm not typically a wallpaper person but number 17 the Gold leaf over blocked green paper, please tell me where you found it! I'm in love with that paper! Our downstairs bathroom was recently papered with grasscloth but not really a pattern but it is gorgeous! Have a wonderful weekend Tina!
ReplyDeleteHinestly, I'm not a huge fan of wallpaper. However, if used on one wall, just like # 29 I think it's pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with wallpaper- am slowly adding it all over my house. This post shows so many gorgeous examples- I'm currently lusting after chinoiserie and can't wait to put some in my new kitchen. Your blog is so filled with gorgeous inspiration. Thanks for sharing. And ps, I can't get over your giveaway- I have wanted a pair of those lamps FOREVER. Crossing my fingers and toes so tightly!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTina I am looking for the perfect (of course) paper for my powder room!

I adore wallpaper and have always used it my home and as you know I'm currently using it my redo of my powder room. There are so many fabulous choices out there, as you so ably demonstrate. It can really be difficult to narrow it dow!!
ReplyDeleteWow! You really did your homework on this! Amazing pictures!
ReplyDeleteI love wallpaper too. No doubt that Thibaut has the look!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a fan of wallpaper, especially in a powder room...a great spot to be a little more daring!!
ReplyDeleteI lived in London for five years and really found my love of wallpaper there. I put RL hunt wallpaper above the chair rail in my large mudroom here in MN along with granite counter tops. Everyone thought I was crazy. Looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteWallpaper is one of my favorite tools to enhance even the blandest or modest rooms! I love them, geometrical, flowery, the Paul Montgomery papers and Thibaut's are gorgeous and I also love Zoffany and Designers Guild papers!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post!
Tina,
ReplyDeleteI laughing so much with your comment! I'd hate to have an "Auto House" as my neighbors neither! :-)
Have a great weekend, sweetie.

I am so happy I found your blog, it is my very favorite! so informative, I have a love for wallpapers, vintage and new, I reproduce wallpaper bandboxes so am always looking for different wallpapers. I've had wallpaper in every room of my home, now would like to change some rooms, I really like the stripe in number 2 and number 17 reminds me of a faux technique using foils. I am now in the process of a revamp of my master bedrooom, this post has been so inspiring. All of the wallpapers are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI could see wallpaper making a resurgence a few years ago when I worked for Scalamandre and all the Palm Beach designers were using it again. I love it in bathrooms but with steam (no matter how much ventilation) you are taking a big chance with it pealing off the walls. Beautiful images!
ReplyDeleteMary Ann
Love #12 and #35!! Actually all the rooms are beautiful just like your blog! and guess what I'm adding your blog to my blogroll as well! :)
ReplyDeleteAnother post I'm saving for future reference!Love all the papers, except about two or three of them. A house your size & style definitely needs wallpaper. Not sure if I like using the same fabric as wallpaper, either. It looks fine. I just think I'd tire of the fabric and want to change it long before I'd tire of the paper. Have a great weekend, Tina!
ReplyDeleteWhen the same pattern is wanted for both walls and curtains, have the fabric backed with paper to cover the walls so the match will be exact.
ReplyDeleteWow! Lots of pretty choices! My favorites are #1 (the yellow day bed), and #6, the blue and white bedroom.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Sunday, Tina!
Love #20!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and I can't say enough kind words. Thank you for sharing your amazing journey with your beautiful home. We finished building our dream home 5 years ago and now looking forward to some interior decorating changes. I love your ideas!!!
Thank you for the reminder to love each day and to enjoy each and every moment we are given. Have a wonderful day and good luck with everything. I look forward to reading about all your adventures.

I think my sister is right! Wallpapers are good too! Honestly, I'm too lazy about doing painting jobs, and I want something new on my walls. Before I sell my house, I'll do a minor makeover so the buyer will be impressed. Maybe I'll use a good wallpaper design for covering my living room's walls.
