Which would you choose, a winner and a new contest!

Hi there, hope you had a great three day weekend. Mine was spent quite uneventfully,  I came down with a double ear infection and  strep throat! I haven't had that in so long..the silver lining is of course not wanting to eat much and getting to see a ton of movies and basically not moving a muscle for the last 3 days (unless you count moving my arms and fingers to overuse my ipad in bed). But it got old and I was sick of that routine by day 3. I think I saw 10 movies! Amongst them were a great documentary on becoming a Grand sommalier, " Somo", it was really fascinating. Also saw Love Story,  Arbitrage, Great Expectations, The talented Mr. Ripley, To Rome with Love (all that I have seen over and over but never get old)  and many others. I am very well rested and finally feeling much better, not 100% but getting there!

So first off I want to announce a winner for the lovely silver cake spade set in celebration of my THREE year anniversary. Congratulations goes to.....

Result: 82

Congratulations and thank you for such a beautiful and inspiring blog. For over a year now, you are amongst the first pages I load at the start of my day, I am so grateful you love it so much. I loved your Autumn post this year...I was feeling a little blue and very very pregnant with my later in life surprise baby and you put it all in perspective for me. It was a real turning point for me and I wanted to let you know how much  that meant to me. Much love and success

  1. I like 16 best because it most closely resembles the style of my own kitchen, but my most favorite is the last image -- not in the contest. It is one I pinned a number of years ago and I still love it, mostly for the charming table and chairs in the middle of the room. I believe it was designed by Suzanne Kasler.

  2. I have cast my vote, and this is such a great new contest, Tina! I would enter in some pictures of my humble cottage kitchen, but we are going to paint and at the moment, I have an armoire placed right in front of the main window that is blocking the sun....we need to get that armoire moved or sold....so I won't enter. I'd love to however, for though it's humble, I love it! I am so glad to know you are better; a double ear infection and strep are terribly debilitating, but YOU'LL be back on your feet full force in no time! LOVE, Anita

  3. Love 1, 4, 6 and 7. I like when a kitchen has character, I am so over the Christopher Peacock all white kitchen, they make me tired just looking at them, they have become outright boring. Love your kitchen Tina that would have been my first choice!

  4. No 13 gets my vote for elegant simplicity.

  5. #16 gets my vote with 6 and 7 coming in next. It is critical that a kitchen have enough storage that is also convenient. Although open shelves, etc. are pretty and popular, you can't reasonably store things that we all seem to collect. Beautiful collection of rooms.

  6. I'm definitely going to enter this contest! I love that cheese tray!

  7. Tina...glad you are feeling better....It was so hard to pick one of those kitchens....they are all so dark pretty!

  8. I vote for choice 7. I really love the shaped marble backsplash!

  9. They are all beautiful, but CHOICE #13 is calling my name!

  10. You poor thing, strep throat AND double ear infection, ouch! Glad you are feeling better, around here the flu is running rampant so be careful and take good care of yourself.

I love kitchens, in my next life I must become a kitchen designer, I have helped many friends and family work on their's, and I will definitely be entering your contest! Of these I loved the glamor of 1, the coziness of 2 and 3 but 6 really got me. It is so grand yet country French, my favorite style. All are beautiful though. Thanks Tina and feel better.

  14. Wow, they are all gorgeous. I went with 9 (it's very much like my own kitchen). But also love 11 and 12! Great idea for a contest, too.

Hope you are feeling better soon, Tina. It's no fun to be sick! Take care of yourself!! XOXO

  15. I love kitchen too Tina, you can really individualize them and make them your own. Fab light fixture in #4!

  16. Love number 1, only on a much smaller scale! I will always love a clean, fresh, crispy, white painted kitchen with dark wood floors. They are classic in every sense and the most timeless design out there. Different wood cabinets come and go in trends; today's cherry cabinets become yesterday's dreaded oak, but white is always attractive for a kitchen. Built a house 25 years ago with a white kitchen and wood floors and it's still beautiful today, with only marble countertops and new cabinet hardware to update. Thanks for showcasing the best of the choices out there!

  17. I sometimes wonder if it is worth it to be sick. : - ) I don't get sick very often anymore.... knock on wood.

  18. choice #1 is perfect for me! it is so clean and light! i also love the elegance to it. All beautiful photos!

  19. Such beautiful choices. I favor a French feeling kitchen and am so over the white kitchen look- boring. I need a kitchen to have personality and today its easier than ever to achieve that. I will surely enter your contest as the kitchen is one room I am really proud of in my home!

Beautiful choices, it was hard to pick even three favorites. Yours is always my number one!

  20. Hi Tina, There are several here that I like .. I voted! That first one is my favorite:) So sorry to hear that you were so sick .. thank goodness for modern medicine! You'll have your energy back in no time. Enjoy your day!

  21. This one was fun, great start to a new week. #1 got my vote, but #9 was very close behind, love them both. Actually, I loved them all! Take gentle care of yourself and feel better soon!

  22. So much beauty on one page. I love #16 best because of the balance of kitchen and greenery. :)

  23. Tina, glad you are feeling better now. 3 days in bid is not fun, no matter how good the movies.
Kitchen #1 is it for me hands down. Love the big bay window and how this space is filled with light. The high ceilings and crisp white really appeal to me. Would love to enter, but our kitchen is very modest galley space. Will see if I can even get a good photo. Regardless, it always fun to see the photos others submit.

  24. We voted #3 of course. That is Jack Arnold's personal kitchen and that photograph is the entire reason we are building the house we are building. We plan to start our Jack Arnold designed home in a few months. We have been on a blogging break since having our baby in July. We are just now starting to find the time to get back into blog land and read emails from months ago! We did find time to check out whats going on with other bloggers during that time, and plan to start posting again on our blog in the coming weeks. I did pick up one inspiration from kitchen #1, the addition of a shelf on the end of the island. Great place for cookbooks, etc. Thanks as always Tina. - Tonya

All the best to you. Eli

  26. I hope you get well soon, Tina! Great movie selections though to cheer you up! Some of my favorites!! I voted for kitchen #1, although they are all gorgeous. However, I'd swap out the countertops for marble of course. :) Beautiful post!

  27. You poor thing, Tina! I am glad you are doing a bit better. We have all been sick since just after Christmas (between my husband, my son and myself, one of us has been down for the count) and it is getting so tiresome. I am headed to Florida on Wednesday to hopefully soak up a little sunshine.

All of the kitchens are gorgeous, but I still like yours the best!

    Have a great week! xoxo

  28. Dear Tina,
I am glad you are feeling much better. Days to just lay around watching movies, reading and relaxing are truly the best!

  29. I am sorry I couldn't vote. Not a beautiful chandelier in the bunch.

  30. Tina do some of the comments ever make you laugh like the one above me? Seriously? Was that for real? You weren't asking for a vote on chandeliers it was kitchens and there's not a bad one here. Oh my gosh, I want to redo my only 2 year old kitchen after seeing this haha.

Love so many voted for three, always love these fun posts. Feel better you poor thing, around here its been single digits so a great excuse to stay in!

  31. We went back and forth between #1 and #9 but decided on #9 for it's open floor plan, something neither of us have but wished we did. Would love to send you pictures of our kitchens but sadly they are really not that special... Though we do love to cook up a storm! Hope you're taking care of yourself and feeling better.

  32. You always make us work so hard! :) I spend so much time deciding which are my favourites when I have a million other things to do. Just tell my husband and kids that it's Tina's fault! My picks this time...4,6 and 12. xx Sharon

  34. Oh dear Tina! Hope you are feeling better soon.. I have been in very different shoes as nurse since before Christmas.. sick kids galore, and finally, my 17 yr old got his tonsils out! He's just gotten through day 4, and I'm hoping he feels a bit better tomorrow.. Just call me Nurse Jan! I keep making soup except I'm the only one eating it!

  35. I voted #1, but look at all that storage at #13! Swooning over all of these. Mine is so minuscule in comparison.

  36. Tina what a bummer that you are sick but what a house to be sick in:-) I dont' mind being sick in the winter, but come summer I don't want to miss a single day.
These kitchens are TDF! I am in love with too many. Now will my husband nuts to push up our renovation date which is set for Nov. 1st. I have gotten countless good ideas from you. Thank you and hope you will keep it coming!

  37. I am even surprised at my own pick, but I am so drawn to #11. I tend to always choose a white one, but the rustic beams and warmth of the color just got me today. So hope you are feeling better, and you know this is your body telling you that you need so rest. I can tell you go a million miles an hour all the time. Please take care and try to rest a little!!

  38. Hands down kitchen #1. With all that lovely natural light who wouldn't want to pass the time in there.

Hope you are on the mend and fully recovered in no time. FYI 2 T Apple cider vinegar and 2 T honey mixed in a mug of hot water helps your body balance it's ph naturally. I get strep very easily and have found this little home remedy to be very helpful.

    Hugs-

  39. Congratulations to Michelle. She must be thrilled. Such a great give-away, Tina. Love 1-2-3 but love the general cozy feeling of 9.

  40. Tina,

Sorry to hear that you were under the weather. The silver lining is that you were able to relax, heal and have a much needed break. I hope that you are 100% soon! Take care of yourself and don't overdue it.

I loved the kitchen post and I love 5 and 11, both beautiful but for different reasons. Although each and every photo is a winner.

    Take care,
    Elizabeth

    I chose 3,8 and 11!
I wish my kitchen was is better shape. It's not photo worthy right now. It will be fun to see those that are!
