Hi there, so happy its the weekend. I have had an insanely busy week between various commitments, things going on in my own home, it was non stop. Really happy its over. I need sleep, a glass of wine, relaxation and maybe some retail therapy! And of course its the big granddaddy of them all for all the sports fans.....the Superbowl! We are headed to a good friends house who has us over every year (except for last where we had them here since we had just moved and it felt just wrong to not be home). For me, if I am to be honest its all about the food, its kind of like being given the license to eat and enjoy whatever strikes my fancy on that one special day. Though I am not a huge football fan, this years story of two opposing teams that happen to each have coaches as brothers does make a great story. How about you? Anything special on your agenda?
This is a fun post, and not a lot of thinking is required just in case you are feeling like me and utterly exhausted from a long week. There is no typical scenario like I normally dream up, this is more about first instincts. When you look at these various spaces, different rooms of a home, which most says "you"? Which room can you totally see yourself being at home in? The beauty of interior design is how subjective it is and how many different but equally wonderful styles there are. There is no "right" or "wrong" when it comes to personal spaces, just a matter of what feels good to you.

Try to go with your gut instinct and what grabs you at first bite sight. Sometimes over thinking things misleads us. For me it came down to two but when I allowed myself to react impulsively I immediately gravitated towards one, it just feels like 'me"..it was a no brainier. So how about you? I look forward to hearing what's your fave.....

Choice no. 1 is my favorite but it depends what you like to use it for.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think that's perfect!
DeleteI would love to be in Room #13 right now.
ReplyDeleteChoice 14 thought there are several I love. I could see whipping up a big old fashioned country breakfast for my family, that kitchen is made for cooking for those you love.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the Superbowl party, we are having 20 friends and family over, starting my famous chili today!
Oh, easy.....10 and 16 for me Tina! Both spell out PEACE and TRANQUILITY!
ReplyDeleteHave a super fun super bowl my dear. Anita
Tina love #10, by Pamela Pierce! Have a fun weekend!

Good morning Tina, I hope you have a lovely, relaxing weekend and lots of delicious food at the Super Bowl party! My choice would be number 1.
ReplyDeletexoxox
It's 10 and 12 for me Tina! Spaces for real living!
ReplyDeleteThirteen and Fourteen......but #9 looks interesting...
ReplyDeleteI like 4 and 5, they both remind me of an elegant country house and the older I get the more that sounds appealing. They both look so comfortable. Each of these though are just beautiful. Fun~
ReplyDeleteMy gut reaction to #1 was immediate! It's elegant, and maybe a tad nostalgic...
ReplyDeleteBarbara
14 for me. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely #1 and #16.
ReplyDeleteEither #5 or #14, b-u-t, there were others that could easily draw me in. :)
ReplyDeleteI am a "new" reader as I only recently "found" your blog. Lots of nice things to come back to read.
I love # 13...warm & cozy...so inviting !
ReplyDeleteI love 2 because it feels really crisp and pretty. I love the color and pattern combination. On a different note 6 is so elegant, it would make work a pleasure. This was fun. Hope you have a great time at the Superbowl get together...GO RAVENS!
ReplyDeleteChoice #13 is "blue perfection" and so comfortable looking! Get the fire going, hand me my glass of wine and I get the sofa!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of beautiful spaces!! But definitely my choice is n°1!! Because of the paneling of course!
Happy weekend my friend!
xx

My gut said 7. I love the navy and white, the clean lines, the ceiling moldings and the windows. Love some things about many of the the other rooms, but I'd love to curl up on the couch with the sun streaming in......
ReplyDelete14 for me. Very warm and interesting
ReplyDeleteNumbers 11 & 12 I couldn't make up my mind since they're both me. Great choices all around glad this isn't for real.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend Tina~

Very hard to choose Tina, as all beautiful rooms. If pushed to make a decision, it is probably no.10 for me - adore the natural stone walls and floors - airy, light and calm. Enjoy the Superbowl.......!
ReplyDeleteI love #5 and #9. Have a wonderful weekend,
ReplyDeleteAnn
I'll go with 10, 12, and I really like 14 :) the table got me! I have a long table in my kitchen.. love to have everyone at one table if possible.
ReplyDeleteWe are supposed to go to a party tomorrow but now we have a friend coming over so I'm not sure what we will do. My daughter cheers for the Seattle Seahawks so we are a little disappointed that we aren't playing given the fact that we beat the 49er's by a fairly large margine:) {we will be cheering for them tomorrow!}.
Have a great weekend Tina!
xxL
I like 16 best...1 next
ReplyDeleteI know this isn't the popular one, but 8 just looks so great.I love how you want to just run and jump on the bed and curl up with a great book. I also like the low lighting and neutral decor. I guess because we are in the middle of our own bedroom redo, it has special appeal. ALL of these are just beautiful. Have fun watching the Superbowl. We are having two families over so busy today figuring out what to make!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say No. 10 - love the stone walls with the softness of skirted chairs - would love to sit with a friend and have tea or just read a book. I have to say there were no bad choices and I could have had moments in all of them.
ReplyDeleteHard to choose between Choice 4 the Arkansas Home and Choice 10 the Pamela Pierce Living Room....but since the kitchen is my fave in my own home...I will have to go with Choice 4!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

Loving 7 &8! No surprise there!!In fact #7 is on my blog post today as one of my all-time favorite rooms. Love the clean lines, trimmed upholstery pieces and lampshade, colors and layout of the room. #8 is just peaceful, uncluttered, understated elegance, all of which I love, the only thing that would make it even better is if it were done in soft blues and creams.
ReplyDeleteAlways fun choosing our favorites!!
Happy Weekend,
Kathysue
I would pick #10 for the sunroom (love the stone walls and floors and the light from the doors) and #16 for the dreamiest, most elegant bedroom ever.
ReplyDeleteBest...Victoria
Your blog is so rich and interesting !!!I like it very much.
ReplyDeleteOlympia
My choise? I thought about it a lot of time ! I would pick 11 and 12.
ReplyDeleteI'd be happy as a clam in nine by Charlotte Moss. It looks like one of my rooms!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely #2, I did as you suggested and went with my intuitive/instinctive reaction. Clean, crisp, contemporary, everything I love in one spot.
ReplyDeleteHave a splendid weekend Tina!

Hi Tina, Choice #1 really calls to me for my love of Chinoiserie, but here's what I would do: #1 would be my library, #4 my kitchen, #9 my family room, and #16 my bedroom! Therefore, I conclude that my style is eclectic! Lisa L.
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful spaces, but I really love #16, so peaceful and relaxing!
ReplyDeleteI like #8. The rest are a bit too cluttered for me.
ReplyDeleteWould love to have a home like that in choice 12,simple,beautiful,stylish.
ReplyDeleteI love #1, but it seems popular so if it gets too crowded you can find me in 10 or 11! LOL!

Never can choose just one #1 #13 + #16. Grand post. Happy Saturday xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
ReplyDeleteTen years ago, 1 & 16. Now that my kids are in college, 2 & 8
ReplyDeleteI want calm clean lines, uncluttered. I keep telling myself, once the children have their own
Places they can have most of what I own and I will buy new! Valerie
Tina.... all of them are beautiful but...its #ten.....love Pam's work.
ReplyDelete#4 and #10 speak to e. I am not at ALL modern. Love the coziness of the 2 rooms. XO, Pinky
ReplyDelete#1 took my breath away!
ReplyDeleteI like #13 is has seasonal potential yet serene on it's own.
ReplyDelete#1...definitely!!! #1.... I gotta do this, must have, it's ME written all over it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing.
I must pick two. Number 3 feels like a perfect beach house room and we just used the last bedroom #16 from James Michael Howard in a post this week and I LOVE it!!
ReplyDelete15 and 1 in that order. The colors and elegant feeling rooms that feel old but welcoming are so "me". Thought each one is so beautiful. Great selection of beautiful spaces.
ReplyDeleteYour posts are always so much fun~~~ Choice number one is absolutely my first choice. I love choice number four as well but mostly because it reminds me of a dear friend of mine that is her style of decorating. What is most like my home though is more number 13 with a touch of one here and there.
ReplyDeleteLove a "choice". # 13 for me!
ReplyDeleteten ten ten! wait. there's a superbowl? only half kidding. it's crunch time at our house as my husband prepares for another trial on monday so NOTHING IS HAPPENIN ROUND THESE PARTS CEPT REST AND RUNNING HIS ERRANDS.
ReplyDeleteeats lots of gluten for me since i am a g-free girl now!
:)
michele
hallelujah i can still have macarons.
ReplyDelete:)
#5 & #14 for me. I ♥ the dark, warm & welcoming environments - woody, solid, strong.
ReplyDeleteI like # 1 and 6, but with six cats, a dog and a small child joining our household soon it is difficult enough to make our house look nice every day, so #1 is my pick!
ReplyDeleteI love #9.......cozy with books.
ReplyDelete#9, please
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sitting room is #10, then I would retire to #16. ♥♥♥ them !
ReplyDelete1 and 14
ReplyDeleteWell that felt like being a child and told I could only have one piece of candy in a store full of goodies! I really think I have an eclectic design style but if I had to pick just one, choice 10, please.
ReplyDeleteThat was really fun! melinda
#2 #10 #13
ReplyDelete9....love the fire place and the cozy feeling it brings. The splashes of red are happy and it is not so clean and perfect you could actually relax,,,,,aaaahhhhhh
ReplyDelete5 and 6--today, at this moment, that's what draws my attention.
ReplyDeleteWow..I guess 4 is my fav followed by 14 and 12.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty close between 7 and 8, but if I have to pick one, you know I'll go blue and white every time!
ReplyDelete9, 1 and 6 please!
ReplyDeleteI went for #7 which really surprises me as I normally steer away from a blue palette as I find it has a 'cold' feel but I LOVED this look!!
ReplyDeleteHands down, Dan Carithers' room, number 15, Tina!
ReplyDeleteA neutral English room with antiquities and great books,
updated lighting, soft fabrics and handsome furnishings.
That is where I would want to sit and relax!
Beautiful.
I posted the #13 a couple of weeks ago on my blog because I feel in love with that living room. The architecture and the decor comes together in a very deep harmony. I love every single detail of it. So, that's my choice. :-)
ReplyDeleteWishing a blessed week, my friend.

#10. Everything about it is perfection. Pamela Pierce is a genius, in my opinion. This was a fun post, Tina.
ReplyDeleteChance #11 is my favorite! I enjoy your lovely blog..
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with the Pamela Pierce interior (No 10) when I first saw it and has remained my all time favourite room ever since. However, there are a lot of contenders here for second place! x Sharon
ReplyDeleteHi Tina, My favorite is #10 but I also love #12 and #13. They are actually lovely rooms.
ReplyDeletexx, Sherry
...9...blessings laney
ReplyDeleteFOR SURE #4...and also 14 & 15, ok...those are my favorites! :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy
10 and 12 are my favs! Also the green Italian pottery in 14 is making me wanna sit at the gorgeous table ....
ReplyDeleteXO Z
#4 was it for me!
ReplyDelete1 for living, 14 for eating, 16 for sleeping.
