  1. Hi Tina, glad I peeked in before i leave for work. For me its a tie between Paris and dinner at the lake. We used to go to a beautiful quaint restaurant about an hour away on the lake and I have such fond memories of that place, the picture you posted reminds me so much of it. But then again Paris is awfully hard to turn down. Either one would make me very very happy. Hope you have something speicial planned.

  2. HANDS DOWN NUMBER 12, CLAMBAKE ON THE BEACH. PREFERABLY IN NANTUCKET! WHAT A PERFECT MOTHERS DAY THAT WOULD BE.

  3. Safari dinner... from all my life experiences, Africa has touched me and my last dinner under the stars on an African island will be engraved in my memory for ever. To return on Mother's day would be a dream...
Thank you for such a bautiful romantic post, to be a mother is such a blessing.

  4. On the yacht... evening sail... hard to pass up Paris and Tuscany, but the thought of the wind, and the sunset while on the water is breathtaking. I'll be there!

  5. Hi Tina, your weekend sounds perfect. Ours was filled with back to back games and a huge sweet 16 for my niece. Its all good!
Love all these choices, but would have to say its either the yacht sail or the beach dinner. Both sound perfect. We hope to go our small boat on Mothers day, definitely not a yacht but its still loads of fun.

  6. Hello! I am following you now from Karena's. Wow, I love all of them, but I would probably choose Paris. My husband is a sailer and grew up sailing at the Southern Yacht Club in New Orleans, so I know which on e he would pick!

We have a little lake cabin @ Lake Martin here in Alabama, so the lakeside dinner would be a close second for me.

    Lovely post!

  7. This is hard! I would have to go wtih either number 10 maybe because we will be in NYC for mothers day for a college graduation or number 12, preferably in Cape Cod (where I spent many summers and have very good memories). They are all wonderful Tina. Glad you got to relax this weekend, it was well earned.

  8. Although a visit to Paris or Tuscany is difficult to pass up, the beach or yacht sail would be a perfect setting for our Mothers Day celebration! Enjoyed dreaming while waking up with my morning coffee..thanks again for a great post.

  9. Hard to choose but I have to go with the Yacht...Wow! Now that would be a great way to celebrate Mother's Day.
    Have a Wonderful Day!

  10. Though I typically favor anything to do with the beach this time I am going with Tuscany. We are planning a trip there for Sept. and its all I can think about! Cannot wait, and spending Mothers day with those I love in the hills of Tuscany sounds like heaven. Have a good day. Love your blog! Also got my squirrel bowl and tray, absolutely LOVE them, what a great find!

  11. I was tempted to do the lake option, since my new hometown has so many beautiful lakes, but that beach setting looks so subtle and beautiful I choose that! Tina, thanks so much for the well wishes on the opening of Linen Haus - it feels so good to finally be getting my personal life in order so I can get it up and running! Yay!!!

  12. I would love to be in Venice for Mother's Day so I vote #6!!!

  13. Tina, All of these sound incredible! I suppose if I had to narrow it down it would be a large gathering in Napa Valley or the rustic feast in Tuscany! Two of my dream spots! It all sounds wonderful! I loved getting to read about you on Karena's blog! It was so fun and it sounds like we have a lot in common! Thanks for this fun post…in reality, we will just be here with all of our family and that too is wonderful! But it's always fun to dream, isn't it!! Have a wonderful week!

  15. I enjoyed reading all of the comments thus far. I found it interesting that with so many followers and bloggers focused on designing their own homes for entertaining; nobody has selected their own patio or terrace. That is where you will find our family this mothers day.

  16. Dinner on the beach,#1.....Nice dream of a relaxed dinner for Mother's Day! Thanks!

  17. Good morning, Tina!

Wow! I love every single picture an I'd be happy to go there any other day, but Mother's Day we stay at home... the best place on earth for me. :-)

Have a great week! Big hugs to you, my friend.

  18. Tina, it would have to be at home in my backyard with close friends. A personal cook and waiters would be nice. And someone to clean up!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I have to say there is not a bad one in the bunch but I am really craving a trip to Europe so Paris or Tuscany for me please.
Every year we host a big brunch for both our families, as we have the house that everyone loves to come to, we set up old fashioned games like croquet, a volleyball net, we have a tennis court and get a mean game going and do a big backyard brunch for about 25 people. Its definitely a lot of work but so much fun too. Hope whatever you do is wonderful.

  20. Hmm...well I'm only a mommy to our dog right now, so am I still eligible to vote? :) I think I would be happy with any of these, but for some reason, the picnic in a park is really standing out. That sounds ideal!

  32. I have to say #2...there is just something magical about boats for me. I miss being here, and hope when I finish this very big job that is taking all my time that things will slow down. I hope things REALLY slow down for the summer! Hope you are well!

  33. Tina read your interview which was so great! I loved hearing about your "early start" and whats inspired you since. You sure are in the right field, you are just so talented and in the few short months since reading your blog I am learning so much.
Love this post too. I would be happy honestly in any if I was with my kids and my hubs but if I really had to choose, think I would have to go wtih the yacht, that sounds and looks so special and really relaxing. I can just imagine it now. Which would you choose?

  34. both 1 and 4 float my boat, if you please, m'lady.

also, please think about adding paris to your busy schedule in october. would be so great to have some seasoned travelers with us!

  35. Boy you ask tough questions!;)
I was going for the beach choice till I hit on Venice, then Tuscany and the Safari (love Paris too, but since I`ve already been there I crossed it out of my choices, I should be crossing beach off my choices too, but I just love the beach so much) in the end I think I would go for Venice.
    fun fun fun.

  36. Does being "Mom" to a Golden count? ;) Gosh, you really pulled out the stops for this one! I was sure it would be the beach, but then Venice called and I know that I love nothing more than being on safari! So I would have breakfast on the beach, lunch in Venice and dinner in Tanzania! I am a greedy girl.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'd like to go on the #7 Safari with my family because it would be a trip full of wonder for all, plus it's a place I've yet to visit.

  38. 1 and 12 is my choices!
    Lovely!

  39. Well now, you just had to go and make this hard again, didn't you?! (Heh, heh, heh.) I think I"ll go with Choice #1, it looks so peaceful and serene, very relaxing and restorative, a perfect setting. If you twisted my arm and made me have a backup plan, I would go for #10, the sky high dinner in the city, just for the fun factor.

    Sending you a smile Tina!

  40. With my hectic schedule lately, choice 9, a beautiful dinner by the lake sounds wonderful. Though I wouldn't turn down any of these!! Your planned out day sounds perfect to me.

  41. It's a close call between #8 and #4 but since my hubby surprised me with a trip to Paris for my birthday, I'd settle for Napa! Actually, I'd settle for a weekend without a regatta.
    xxoo

  42. Give me Sunset in Venice #6. Such a lovely place to visit, especially for Mother's Day. Since that won't happen, give a day with the people who made me a Mom - my wonderful kids.

    ReplyDelete
  43. When it comes right down to it....I love the sound of the ocean, so #1 is where I'd want to be.

My mom arrives in 2 days - so excited!
    xoxo Elizabeth

  44. SOOOOO GORGEOUS!! I LOVE #1. If I were treating my Mom it would be Napa... she loves her wine. xo

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh boy, #1 and #5 would be glorious for me. The beach is such a welcoming and needed escape for me, I swear the ocean calls my name. The stars are also welcome!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Definitely #1 - anything on the beach, anything in Thailand. Perfect. Oh what a pleasant dream.

    ReplyDelete
  47. #4 I'll always choose Paris. Linda F.

  48. Tina, these are all beautiful choices... I would do every single one,

however, My number One Choice, hands down is

    Dinner in Paris!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I have done a few of those scenarios so this time I'm going simple with Number 5.

  50. Hello Tina,

I could not agree more with many of these ladies...PARIS! I never tire of visiting there and cannot wait to return this .fall.

Hope you have a great week, Elizabeth

  51. Wow! Oh so many great choices! BUT since I am a California girl...I'll have to go to Napa...love wine country!
    Love that candle too!

  53. Why do you do this to us!? I want to be in all of them but 1 really struck me right away (I love the beach) and then Paris and New York because I love the city vibe! Thanks for the mini vacation!!

  54. Oh just when I was about to say dinner on a yacht~it couldn't get any better, you had to throw in that evening view of the Eiffel tower and dinner in Paris...so that is what I would pick...and someday I will be doing just that!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Let's go to Tuscany! I would like an extended stay though! Can you imagine how scrumptious that meal would be!!!! So fun, Tina!

I would love to have an intimate dinner at a local lake w/my family, total of 8. It is really about the beautiful Candle Holder and aromatic candle that I would really love to have. Thank you

  58. As Audrey Hepburn reportedly said, "Paris is always a good idea." I would say that it is always the very best idea. I can't get enough. Rustic Tuscany is a close second.
But anywhere my children are is heaven to me.

  59. For me its a dead even tie between the cocktails and dinner on the yacht and the clambake. I think having been born in coastal Maine, the sea is near and dear to my heart always. It just makes me my most relaxed and on Mothers day thats what I want most, peace and quiet!

    ReplyDelete
  60. For some reason...the clambake with my besties and family really spoke to me BUT we have a Mother's Day tradition here. We go to a very nice hotel brunch every Mother's Day...sometimes the Ritz Carlton. We change the location from time to time but it is always a fine hotel. The kids LOVE it. They try caviar and lobster and we all eat until we can eat no more. They put on their best clothes and we have a ball. My son, Harry even orders decaf coffee. I, of course, have champagne!!!! We have been doing this for as long as I can remember and it would not seem like Mother's Day if we did not do it.

    Happy Mother's Day to you!!!
