Tina, what a magnificent post. I have some transferware in the browns that is actually hung in my breakfast room. It is a great thing to decorate with, I agree. I love the pitcher and it would work beautifully in my white kitchen! I will have to visit her store, my parents live in Princeton NJ, so will have to see where she is in relation to them, since we visit them every March during spring break. Hope you have a great day.
ReplyDeleteIt just doesn't get any better than blue and white! Wonderful post. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteLove all the pictures you put together for this post. Decorating with blue and white is my favorite! This pitcher would go perfectly in my bedroom. It reminds me of the pitchers used in the south to help ladies freshen up before dinner. Being an Alabama girl living in Texas it would remind me of my roots every time I saw it. Thanks for the opportunity to win it. Very generous of y'alll! ;0) Julie Bratcher

ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post! I do love transferware, but never have I seen so much and in so many colors. I'm so happy to learn about Bonny. She does look like she enjoys her passion. I think I'll have to watch Julia & Julia again...the hunt really is the fun part. I would love to win. Not to get ahead of myself, but I'm already planning a post featuring this beautiful pitcher in a vignette against my chalkboard wall...and then for its final home I would give it to my friend Suzanne who introduced me to blue & white transferware. In case I don't win, I'll be on the hunt this weekend at a flea market in Irvine.

Love the transferware post. Years ago while in New Orleans-went on Christmas tour of Garden district-walked in 1 home and on a wall in kitchen/den were 30+ brown and white transferware porcelain drainers-since then I have been on a mission for porcelain drainers-I now have about 30 -most in blue, have 1 rare black, and lots of brown ,also green and cream(white) drainers-have searched all over Europe for these- Thanks for the post
ReplyDeleteLove all the beautiful pictures. Would LOVE the pitcher to add to my starting collection, all your pics have renewed my love of Blue and White. My grandmothers entire house was blue and white-reminds me so much of her when I look at your pictures. Hope this lovely piece can find it's home with me!!
ReplyDeleteBrings me back to a beautiful place and time, every time I feast my eyes on transferware. It was very much a part of my childhood. Blue and white is my favorite, but I wouldn't refuse a piece (or more) of any other color. It's just beautiful.

Would love to win. I love transfer ware!
ReplyDeleteI have adored transferware since 1962 when I bought my set of Mill Stream by Johnson Brothers...every room in my house has transferware on the walls...filled my dining room wall with platters before it was in the magazines. That beautiful pitcher would not be lonely...and would be loved...blue and white is still by favorite, though red is close...brown and white is so striking. Love the blog!
ReplyDeleteTina - Wow! This post covers just about everything I love: blue and white, shelf arrangement, transferware and plate arrangement on walls. I probably pinned half of these images to my Pinterest boards (making sure, of course, to give proper credit to each source!) Thanks for such an inspiring post. I'm off to rearrange my shelves!

ReplyDeleteTina, I cannot tell you how much I love your blog. Kept seeing your gorgeous kitchen all over Pinterest and when I clicked on the source, was led to your beautiful blog. I have spent hours going over your old posts, so much to see, learn and admire. Your home is such a thing of beauty, they do not build them like that anymore!
ReplyDeleteI also love this post. My mother started my addiction to transferware and I now have a large collection of brown and white with a few pieces of blue and white so this pitcher would have lots of pretty company should it find its way into my home. Thank you to you and Bonny for this wonderful and generous giveaway. I look forward to visiting her site too, always admire someone who truly loves what they do.
I love transferware. These images are fantastic. And don't you just love Bonny's shop. I bought a beautiful Murano box from her. She always has tempting goodies on line and this pitcher is no exception.
ReplyDeleteBest...Victoria
Well, I no longer have a Facebook account, but I'm putting my name in the hat anyway! I would love for your giveaway pitcher to be my first transfer ware piece.
ReplyDeleteFinally, a place where I can see all the different ways to display transferware. I am the recipient of my in-laws' brown transfer ware collection (mostly aesthetic movement). I estimate at least 70 pieces but they are currently in storage while I find the best way to use them. I would love to do something like that first picture with the grass cloth background! BTW, I use blue and while in our bedroom so that antique pitcher would be perfect! bebettcruz (at) yahoo (dot) com.
ReplyDeleteI love transferware~ every color! This pics are beautiful and I would love to win that pitcher. Now I am going to visit Bonny's store. Thanks for sharing!

You do not cease to amaze me in how you are able to take a design element or concept and make it look nothing short of spectacular! I must admit transferware never really "did it for me". BUT after seeing this post I want to run over to my moms house (who has a lot) and raid her inventory! Seriously I am now brainstorming as to where and how I can use this in my own home. Winning the pitcher would be a really nice start!!
ReplyDeleteSusan

ReplyDeleteTransferware on display is ugly -- put it in a cabinet and get rid of the clutter. It was made for meals, not walls.
ReplyDeleteYou have great "give-a-ways". Love pieces with history and already collect transfer pieces- much to my daughter's annoyance because of the volume which I have now accumulated. How did I get get such a practical (when it comes to collecting) daughter?
ReplyDeleteone of the prettiest homes i ever entered was an almost mother in-laws house.

Beautiful post! Transferware looks beautiful everywhere, but particularly lovely with ginghams and toile! One little correction though, the bedroom you attribute to Charles Faudree is actually David Easton's own bedroom from that wonderful house he sold some time ago....I have the exact image along with the rest of the house!
