Hi everyone! Below is a post I worked on in advance of the big move happening this week. In addition I will be featuring various guest posts during the coming week which I know you will enjoy... I promise you are in for a treat! And I will surely be back with updates when I am able!
OK so for this weeks "Which would you choose", you get to imagine that your husband has been offered the job of a lifetime, no way could you turn it down and to entice you, its in your dream town...where ever that might be. So imagine you are headed to your dream town and now you get to choose your new dream home! Below are seven scrumptious abodes....I cannot wait to see which you will decide to call home! Tell me which one and why and where it would be...cannot wait to hear! I think I am torn between two, but see something beautiful in each and every one!
CHOICE 1, Sprawling European manor home
CHOICE 2, French influenced with surprising transitional touches inside
CHOICE 3, European influenced home on a large parcel of land
CHOICE 4, a Southern coastal home near the lake
CHOICE 5, A gorgeous beach house.....
CHOICE 6, an elegant coastal setting
CHOICE 7, maybe city living is more your speed
Hummm..this is a hard decision. Something for everyone, so go ahead scroll back up..you know you need to, and let me know which is your top pick and where oh where would it be? Enjoy your evening......
Best wishes for you and your big move. I'll be thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteI like #'s 2 and 4 best. #1 is wonderful, too. It's so hard to pick just one! Any would do nicely.
xoxo, Adrienne
I think #4 has my pick.
ReplyDelete# 3 is my choice because it has such a warm feeling. Loved #1 but would have had to add many rugs. Would love to be in Buckhead in Atlanta.
ReplyDeleteHope that everything is going as smoothly as possible. They to pace yourself.
Teresa
xoxo
Wow so many gorgeous homes. Hard to choose but it would be between 1 and 7, always wanted to live in the city and that is one seriously sophisticated looking apt!
ReplyDeleteSo put me down for 1 and 7, please, town and country!
Good luck with the move, Tina..can't wait to see more pictures.
Best wishes on your continued move! Number 3 would be my choice, beautiful, warm and comforting. Where....in transition at the moment but home is Vancouver, Washington where my family is so that is where I would want my dream home to be!
ReplyDelete#1 for me and I wouldn't change a single thing! Love it, they are all lovely but that one really speaks to me the most.
ReplyDeleteOh!! How do I choose.......#1....no#5...no....if only I did indeed have the choice!
ReplyDeleteTina, Love these choices!! Would choose #5 with #6 as a close second!! It is the light coming in that draws me to these!! Would have them close to lakes in upper NY or in cottage country in Muskoka in Ontario. Summer or winter, it would be great!! Try and have some fun this week!!
ReplyDelete#1 for me but I will add a few more furniture and rugs to make it a bit more cozy. I think though that you should have put your new house in the choices -- then, I would pick your house.
ReplyDeleteHello Tina
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever and enquiring post.
Choices and variables. I am torn between the beach house and if so I would choose Nantucket. It would be a year of painting and reading, as it can be quiet there in wintertime.
I also love city living, so I would choose London England. Something small would work, as I would be away from home from early morning till late evening, leaving no stone unturned, so I leave it to you to tell me which one would work.
Thanks Tina and good luck in your move
Helenxx
I'm torn between #1 and #6, but you said I had to pick "One", so I'm going house 6 because I've always thought I would have a house on the water. The best place would be for this to be my "second home" in the Muskoka region of Ontario and we'd be living in the "city space #7" for our real home in Toronto. Not a glam location but close to family.
ReplyDeleteI think I would say #5. I love the casual elegance of a beach home and I love all the white with touches of color. I would picture that house to be in the Hamptons. Love it!
ReplyDelete-Shelley
#3....luv all the wood...that trimwork entrance is amazing.
ReplyDeleteyou're right, they all have something magnificent to offer! I'd have to choose #3, I love all the buttressed ceilings! It would have to be tucked away in the hills outside Florence :)
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised with my choice which is #6. I'm ordinarily a more "traditional" style person but I love the open concept with all the light and bright rooms. So it's the coastal house for me and I'd like it near a lake in Colorado.
ReplyDeleteNo.3 please! The kitchen, the butler's pantry, the master bathroom, the architecture... all gorgeous! I'd have to do something about that laundry room, though. I'd like it placed on a sprawling and pristinely maintained horse ranch, please! It's so much fun to dream!
ReplyDeleteNumbers 5 and 6 would normally be my style, but I'm going a little crazy tonight and voting for #1. I'll take it on Kauai, please :)
ReplyDeleteNumber 1 definately! No contest
ReplyDelete6, I'm thinking! What a view from that balcony! Fun post. Good luck with the move! Janell
ReplyDeleteOooh they are all nice but numbers 6 and 7 are my favourite. If I owned 6 I'd like it to be in the Hamptons and if I owned 7 I'd like it to be in New York City. I'll keep dreaming! Ange
ReplyDeleteYou always make this so challenging.... I'll confess, my first thought was...I am not going to want any of these because I honestly have been craving a smaller cottage home (but with room for a pool) lately. But then #1 started to seduce me (except for the red theatre room ---YUCK!) Then I also liked 5 and 6 a lot too. There are things in both I would want to update but I am yearning for small and cozy these days rather that large, sprawling and elegant. I am sure the small and cozy closets would do me in in reality though:)
ReplyDelete#1 all the way.... Just stunning!
ReplyDeleteWell, number one appeals to me the most although I always thought I wanted a beach house. Maybe I want both!!
ReplyDeleteLove all the gorgeous room!
xo
Sharon
I knew this would be really hard...buuut, I *love* the interiors of #1 and #5 (combined would be perfect!) Dream location is also near a lake (in the mountains) of Colorado!
ReplyDeleteI like #5.
ReplyDeleteYour right this was not easy, but I have to say it's number 3 hands down. Anywhere it is warm with tropical atmosphere. I don't care where it is as long as I can get that house!
ReplyDeletewait, I'm really having so much trouble deciding! My first pick was number 1 or 3 as I love cozy European inspired homes. But then I fell in love with all the beach and coastal homes! Maybe I'm craving Summer! And then to top it off I loved the city home as well. All great choices, could never chose just one!
ReplyDeleteI could love all of them, each have their own beauty. But, my favorite would be #1 the sprawling European Manor Home. I love the open airyness, and drooling over the floors. How about that closet?? Location, probably Italy's coast.
ReplyDelete#3 hands down, but I would want to be on some water, probably a lake. Love #4 also and the last beach house but would decorate it more in a Hemingway type decor, more color and TEXTURE!!! Oh what a dream..... thanks for the images. BEST of luck on the move!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you!!!! XO, Pinky
ReplyDelete#1
ReplyDeleteCHOICE 3, European influenced home on a large parcel of land. I love the wine bottle wall in the guest bath!!! I also love the entry into the parlor. Thanks for sharing and hope you can find everything after you get moved in. lol
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Theresa
My choice would be #3, the gorgeous European influenced home! The detail, vast expanse of windows...and the wine cellar - along with the entertaining space and Kitchen are some of the reasons. It would be high on the Bluffs along Door County - somewhere in Fish Creek, Wisconsin. It would be overlooking the Green Bay Waters in my Favorite vacation destination!! It would be a dream come true!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis was a very difficult choice. After some thought it would have to be #1. I'd want it by the beach-somewhere in So Cal.
ReplyDeletel adore all of them but number 1 in particular. Fabulous choices as usual
ReplyDeleteI am going with 2, I love the mix of the elegant traditional exterior but the fun more modern interiors. Also it looks like a nice sized house but not super huge and since we only have one little girl, thats a great size. It would be right outside Boston, in a beautiful old established neighborhood, where my husband is about to start his residency. Love all the choices.
ReplyDelete#1 for me. But, I agree with someone else above who said they would add a few more pieces of furniture to "warm" it up...Maybe bring out some of the color from the closet. They all took my breath away though...Thank you!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Soaking in that beautiful new tub with some Epsom Salt really does work to relieve sore muscles!
Hi Tina, all beautiful you don't make this easy. I am going with 4 and it will be in the Outer Banks in my dream neighborhood, what a beautiful home! Hope the move is going great.
ReplyDeleteHi Tina...what a fun contest. I have always wanted a big family house at the beach. I like number 5 the best because it offers a more casual, intimate home in a beautiful setting. I also fall hard for the soft coastal color palette. Lots of friends and famililes would visit me and I could take walks on the beach every morning and evening.
ReplyDeleteHANDS DOWN...NUMBER ONE. OH MY GOODNESS that is the most stunning place, and I have a feeling that YOUR HOME is going to look like that, with that outdoor fireplace! TINA DEAR! Are you excited? Are you moving things In????? Anita
ReplyDelete#5 because I've always wanted a beach house. That looks like it's in Nantucket! Hope your move is going smoothly... thinking of you. xo
ReplyDelete#6 - but can I have more than one??
ReplyDeleteLove them all, but #6 is my favorite. Love the view of the sea!
ReplyDeleteNumber 1! although I will redecor the living room ... however I love the bedroom and the bathroom with that tub ♥ and the dressing room is just what I need haha. I hesitate a little due to picture 21 & 22, I guess 21 is the laundry room if so: why do you need that expensive (I guess)carpet there??? and about picture 22 that's one of the ugliest media rooms I have ever seen!!! ..well I don't love media rooms at all anyways ;)... BUT you got me at the CELLAR haha, oh the outside is nothing despicable neither
ReplyDeleteLike them all but something about 2 and its ecletic style appeals to me. It also looks cozy. Not a bad one to be had though. Happy moving week!
ReplyDeleteTough choice between #5 & 6. Having grown up on Cape Cod, these homes are just my style. I think I may like #5 just a little bit more.
ReplyDeleteYou had me at "beach house," love number 5!
ReplyDeleteI'll take House #1 please!! Love the natural materials used and the grand feeling of a manor home. Hmm...a beach house would be nice too! Since this is just pretend, I'll take #5 as well!!
ReplyDelete7 for me, what a dreamy city apt!
ReplyDeleteCan I say 6 for the weekend and 7 for the work week. Too many beautiful choices to stay with just one! Another fantastic post! Good luck with the move!
ReplyDeleteNumber 1 is my choice! While they're all beautiful I'm not really much of a beach person and number has everything i would look for in a house including wine cellar!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!
XX
Debra
Can I choose the 'exterior' of choice 2, with the 'interior', grounds AND location of choice 5?? Stunning! :O)
ReplyDeleteI have greedy dreams 6 and 7.One for working and one for playing, It's good to have balance, no?
ReplyDeleteThis was a hard one.....I think I will have to go with the first one though. It was pretty spectacular.
ReplyDeleteI love, love 1.....but then there is 6.....IDEA! 6 is the weekend home?
ReplyDeleteNumber 1 for the gardens and pool
ReplyDeleteNumber 7 for the outstanding sophisticated interior.
Definitely number 1! It has balance. It feels light and airy, but at the same time you can imagine being snuggled up reading a book on the sofa in winter. Such a calm feel to it, I can't imagine being anything other than blissfully content there.x
ReplyDeleteNumber 5. It is cozier to me.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, hard to choose, but I'm gonna go with number 1. I have always gone back to that kitchen. Such a tough choice, Tina. They're all definite WANTS!!!! But, I had to just close my eyes and narrow it down to at least one draw!
ReplyDelete#1 for me. I would have to change the story, I would be offered the job and moving to the town of my dreams. Husbands' dream has settled me in a 1980's blah ranch styled house out in the middle of no where...
ReplyDeleteThank you for this blog, it takes me away....
OH my gosh Tina, I cant choose one. I will take them all! Tina who designed the first home. I have seen that kitchen many times and cant remember who designed it.
DeleteBeach house, please. And then the apartment in the city for the best of both worlds! Tina, I hope the move is going well! Looking forward to hearing about it. XO
ReplyDeleteI love playing this dream game, this is a bit hard, I like the last two ocean properties, I like the casual look of the first and the elegance of the second one. It would be in Carmel by the Sea in Calif. with a beautiful ocean view and some property around it to keep it more private. If I am dreaming I want it all. Have a great day, Kathysue
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough decision! I like the first one, but in reality, I like them all!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your move. ~Delores
Number 1 for sure! I could move in tomorrow and not change a thing. I would have this home just outside of Calgary Alberta on an acreage. It has beautiful rolling hills or close to Banff Alberta which is only 1 hr from where I live now.
ReplyDeleteFirst Choice - #1 - located in fabulous Santa Barbara CA
ReplyDeleteSecond Choice - #7 - located in Knightsbridge London
Third Choice - # 3 - located in North Georgia - Lake Rabun -
Easy decision - Beach House... magically transported to north shore of Lake Ontario.
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful .. Number 1 is my first choice and second would be number 5
ReplyDeleteFor me this was a no brainer, the lake house of course and I would choose to have it in Maine, and my husband would retire early and we would just garden, bike, hike,etc..... Yes, I can look at it and see the good vibes radiating from those gorgeous rooms. Very restful just how I like it.
ReplyDeleteTina, when you want you are welcome to come visit me.
Ahhh they are all gorgeous! I'd have to go with #4, and it would be on Seabrook Island, which is off the coast of SC, near Charleston!
ReplyDeletethis was an easy pick for me, house number 5...none of the others floated my boat at all.
ReplyDeleteAs for the place to move to? somewhere picturesque and coastal in the south of the UK.
I had fun looking at these :)
#1 - gorgeous!! Thinking of you this week, I know how stressful moving is, we have moved alot and it never gets any easier! However, the end result will all be worth it that first night you are able to sleep in your new home that you've worked so hard on for so long :) Can't wait to see pics when you get it all decorated!
ReplyDeletei want the insides of the 1st house in the second house!!
ReplyDeletethat would be purrrrfect!!
xx
Wow, this was a challenging one but number 5 is my favorite...with 6 a close second.
ReplyDeleteKaren
I want two:
ReplyDelete#5 for my "Something's Gotta Give" fix and #7 for my urban fix.
Choice #3 for me please. I'm dying to know where you find these gorgeous pictures.
ReplyDeleteGood morning my friend!
ReplyDeleteI am torn between no. 1 and 6 for the architecture and the absolutely gorgeous surroundings. (I am that simple-lines-gal, you know). But I would bring my own furniture & art pieces and make sure there were more chocolate fingerprints on the walls! (:
hugshugshugs,
Mon
They are all lovely, but (with the proviso I can move it from Lake Forest, Illinois to someplace warm) for me it is -- hands down -- Number One. That is because I love, love, love Mick De Giulio's kitchen.
ReplyDeleteAll the best...Victoria
I choose #3, with a longing for some of the coastal and beach house features. Since I live in the Midwest, the ocean does have some exotic attraction for me, but I could build #3 near a big body of water too, as there are houses like this on the Lake Michigan shore. Thanks for all you do to make us sigh with pleasure!
ReplyDeleteTina, you make it so difficult! All the choices are wonderful! I woul love to mix some rooms of all these houses!!
ReplyDeleteOk, I choose for choice n°1!
cc
Greet
The European home and then second would be the Elegant Coastal home!
ReplyDeleteWow, I would have a hard time choosing between #'s 1, 3 and 6. But those are my top choices in order. That would be a good problem to have:)
ReplyDeleteoh honey, it's so totally #5 for me. help me blow up my place and move me right on in to that one.
ReplyDeletesending light and energy and smiles.
michele
#5 is the most like my style. And I'd want it to be in Charleston SC!
ReplyDeleteThis one was easier for me than usual, thank god, because I'm busy today :) I'd go with #1. Although that wine bottle mirror surround in #3 is too cool for words! Hope all is going well and you are hanging in there!
ReplyDeletexo Stacy
Move me into #1 immediately!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't decide between choice #1 nad #7. They're both very very elegant, charming and comfortable but #1 has a touch of "rusticity" that makes it special. I particularly love the marvellous kitchen and the wine cellar. The intelligent use of grey and white gives an extra charm to the roons. As I live in Brasil, i would like to have a wonderfull house in BrasÃlia (DF). Love from Lulu
ReplyDeleteMy choice is #1. Absolutely wonderful. love from Lulu
ReplyDeleteEach one is fabulous, but I must go with choice #1. Who would not love that dressing area! By the way, I LOVE your blog. It truly brightens my day.
ReplyDeleteI'd pass on those options and take something late Georgian set in the Virginia hills.
ReplyDelete*** Welll Tina, what a TREAT!!! #6 reeally floats my boat, with # 5 being a verrry close second... both beach properties (maybe that's why thought of "BOATS"... ha!), but quite honestly, every single one is just a bit TOO BIG, DESPITE the magnificent locations/ INCREDIBLY DELIGHTFUL VIEWS!!!
ReplyDeleteWe're in 4300 sq. ft. of our wonderfully designed home, and I don't think I would want anything bigger... (WELLLLL, except for the addition of a POOL HOUSE... a N*I*C*E one, of course!!!!)...
LOVELY HOMES n' SPACES... many thanks for putting this together for all of us to enjoy!!!
Sending more blessings for a GOOD MOVE!!! (I KNOW you will all be sooooo THRILLED to be IN!!!)...
Warmest,
Linda in AZ *

Hey Tina, hope this finds you hanging in there and taking plenty of breaks, remember to take your time and pace yourself. It took me over a year to really settle into our new home!
ReplyDeleteAnyway I am dreaming of my big move..where to go, well I am opting for chioce as my country home by the lake and my city, weekday home will be 7 which will be in Chicago. Thank you for the chance to dream for a minute before I hit the dreaded carpool line!
#1 hands freaking down! love everything about it, especially the kitchen and gardens!!
ReplyDelete1 on the first place, and then 5 and 6
ReplyDelete#1 please! :) Hope the move is going smoothly!
ReplyDeleteHands down, #1. Needs more decorating, but I can be up to that!
ReplyDeleteIf we're dreaming big I'll take # 7. A Manhattan high-rise on Central Park South. I love that view! Besides that, who can afford a penthouse that size in Manhattan - a rare few!
ReplyDeleteHi Tina! I'm really hoping that things are going well! I definitely have to go with #1. Its country, its modern and its European all in one! I love the light colors all throughout as well. And that closet is to die for!
ReplyDeleteCould I pass on all of them and have your new house? :)
ReplyDeleteEeek! This is so not fair! At first I saw #1 and I thought it would hands down be my favorite and there would be no need to even see the other ones. Then I saw #5 and I swear I saw my ghost in every room hanging out amongst all the blue & white. But alas I think I'm going to have to go with #1. It is move-in ready for me! Hope your move is going well! Moving is the most exhausting thing ever. Stay caffeinated!!
ReplyDelete*sigh* number one please. That place is breathtaking. Would not refuse any of the others either!
ReplyDeleteHi Tina!
ReplyDeleteOf course they are all beautiful but my favorites are 5 and 6 with 5 slightly ahead.
I wouldn't say no to any of them honestly but I'll have to go with #2 :)
ReplyDeleteHope the move is going well! xoxo
well they are all just stunning and as i scroll up and down...it's so hard to choose...but #5 it is...
ReplyDeletehope your move is going along smoothly!
annie
#6 for me! Hope the move is going well! xx
ReplyDeleteHello Tina,
ReplyDeleteI hope the move is going as you planned, and you have not run ino any bad weather. It is freezing here in Milwaukee, and we got another three inches of snow. It is beautiful though and nice to visit.
I think if I was winning my dream home I would choose the apartment in the city, new York to be more precise. I love that apartment and as long as we are dreaming I will take something the exact opposite of where I live.
Have a great night, I hope you are still managing a few minutes to yourself and a cup of coffee to relax.
Elizabeth
They're all lovely but just too large for my liking; I'd take any of them if it were scaled down to a cozier scale. As for where? Hmmm, live in the rockies now and love it. Have lived in Santa Barbara and loved that. Lived in the CA wine country and...yep, loved that! Any of those places would make me happy!
ReplyDeleteOK, send me the keys...it's #1!!
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to see who you will invite to our BIO dinner.
xx's
nu'mero uno! love that there were splashes of orange too:-)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely # 6. Would love to live on the water and the decor is very bright and airy.
ReplyDeletewww.idesignlove.com
Definitely #6. I would love to live on the coast and they decor is so relaxing.
ReplyDeletewww.idesignlove.com
NUMBER 6!!!! Love it! i lso loved #5 but then you showed us #6, so I'm going with number 6!
ReplyDeleteHave fun moving!!!!
ReplyDeleteHello and Thank you for this lovely insight into these Homes! For me it is only number one that I like and I would suggest adding more hardwood flooring on the main level. Well we live in Calgary and tiles everywhere seem too cold...
ReplyDeleteI would choose it to be in Tuscany near Florence and still would want more hard wood on main level just to cozy it up (not much but the living room perhaps)....
Ciao Zaneta
Hi Tina!
ReplyDeleteIt was love at first sight-- Number 1 stole my heart. I love it for the friendliness of the design-- big, open, connected spaces, perfect for entertaining friends who have toddlers in tow; light-- lots of natural light. The style of decor is so "me", perfect European chicness. Now for where it should be: Heaven only knows. If I knew, I think I would pack up and move and start looking for the perfect building site.
Have fun moving!
Keri
I live in the same town as #1 in Lake Forest. It is a beautiful home but you can only enjoy that gorgeous pool a few months a year! Brrrr, it is 21 degrees here!
ReplyDeleteThey are all gorgeous................but my favorite interiors are number 7. I just love the look of the place.
ReplyDeleteI was lucky enough to grow up at a beach house on Puget Sound so house #5 was it for me, such s special place to be.
ReplyDeleteThey're all gorgeous, but why would it have to be my husband's dream job? Couldn't it be my dream job and my dream house?
ReplyDeleteFabulous houses! The walk-in closets took my breath away! Enjoy the gorgeous day, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteAlthough I absolutely love #1 with its natural light, indoor-outdoor space and pool and that is not so stuff I would have to go with #6 - the coastal home which appears relaxing, has gorgeous views, welcoming and family-friendly. Difficult to choose yet again, Tina!
ReplyDeleteOnce again....all of these homes are gorgeous! But if I had to choose...#1, #5 and #6 are my favs. Not sure if I can pick between those 3, but #1 seems to be pulling at my heart the most!
ReplyDeleteWell its a total tie between 1 and 7, could I maybe as long as I am dreaming here, go for both, the best of both worlds...town and country!
ReplyDeleteI'll take both House #1 and House #5, please! I love the delicate, feminine touches (for example the ruffled white couch) in House #1. And I love all the blue and nautical touches of House #5!
ReplyDeleteooh its taken me ages to decide could I (so greedy) stay at beach house #4 by the lake in winter it would be so cosy & dramatic then when summer arrives I will just pop next door to number #5 for the beach house for those warm summer day's!!! Now I am dreaming (Heaven) :))))
ReplyDelete#2, #5 or #6! :)
ReplyDeleteWow that was fun - I was transported to my new life and boy was it fabulous, but equally as depressing because I just got the bottom of your post and realised my husband doesn't have that dream job and I don't live in that house. Reality sucks! I need a new husband! Hard to pick between 5 and 6, but I think 6 clinches it in the end. Stunning and huge inspiration.
ReplyDeleteCHOICE 5- the gorgeous beach house!
ReplyDeletethe beach house, can;t ever beat that location...#5
ReplyDeleteThis is a great blog, usually i don't post comments on blogs but I would like to say that this post really forced me to do so!
ReplyDeletechoice 1 totes
ReplyDelete
