I have been looking for a "stream" of decorating blogs like THIS one. (I'm not a shabby chic/white on white aficionado myself, and there seems to be a LOT of that!) Am happy to have found you.
ReplyDeleteHi Tina
ReplyDeleteWow! What a beautiful blog you have here, I just stumbled upon you. My blog is fairly new too, and I was in Paris at the same time as you at the salon.
I'm putting you straight up on my blogroll, I'd love you to come visit

I have never met a chinoserie that I didn't like, like you I love, love, love it! Timeless, elegant and super fabulous! There are a few that I think are sheer perfection in your round up, however all of them are really nice. The one where you're asking who's it might me...did you try Old World Weavers (part of Stark?)
ReplyDeleteYou've made it difficult to choose a favourite! They're all stunning, but i do love the ones that are a bit metallic with a hint of grey. Great giveaway too btw!
ReplyDeleteLove them all - but the first is my favorite! I adore peacocks.
ReplyDeleteIs there anyone who doesn't love a little Chinoiserie? I hate to admit that the second image of the antique panels with the pheasants is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteHey Tina,
ReplyDeleteand I thought i was following your blog...:-) You have had some really great posts in your first month - it's hard to pick just wone, but I am going to say Transitional trends because you have some of my favorite Designers featured in it.
I am off to follow Safavieh's on facebook and twitter
That lacquered room in a Paris apartment is truly fabulous. Apparently antique panels were used with the addition of new elements to create full panelling. The effect is stunning. The new flooring, laid like wall-to-wall carpet instead of the 18th century manner, is a mis-step however.
ReplyDeleteHi Tina!
ReplyDeleteYour eye is fabulous! I love your taste. I guessed that the DR you love is possibly Estee Lauders in Palm Beach...not sure, however it's so classic and timeless that it transcends mere categorization and goes into the "magical" realm.
I love the two gold & white Ginger jars in that foyer.
ReplyDeleteI also love that bathroom.
Hi Tina,
ReplyDeletestunning collection of chinoiserie...
it's timeless and a classic...
good comment today on my post...you had some very valid points...

Typically I shy away from chinoiserie mainly because it always strikes me as being to busy, too much pattern. I think this is because I work around an explosion of color and pattern in my studio so when it comes to my home I need things calm and not drawing my eyes to them. But if I had to pick one that I could live with it would be the gold/silver leaf Stark chinoiserie, it’s there but not in your face.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a wonderful day Tina!

A giveaway - how exciting!! I am always partial to blues and greens and absolutely love the stair hall by Diamond Baratta. Great post! xo KO

ReplyDeleteThat was a serious visual treat! Following Safavieh on Twitter and so glad I stumbled upon your blog!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful wonderous post...I adore all-things-Chinoiserie! Great pics!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite photo is the one of the front hallway with the soft yellow chinoiseire wallpaper by Markham Roberts: I feel as if this could actually be a part of my own home and it is so light, pretty, elegant as well as being warmly welcoming plus has that indoor-outdoor feel I try to cultivate wherever I'm living.
Thanks as always for the great inspiration- Best, Lachlan
What gorgeous homes! I'm ready to move in any of them!
ReplyDeleteThis was a great post for decorating inspiration. I love the wallpaper near that staircase (fourth photo down).
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting this!
Tina: So appropriate for your home!
ReplyDeleteI'm a longtime fan of chinoiserie too!
ReplyDeleteI agree with one of the commenters that you have a great eye judging from all the fabulous images you've collected over time. I have a feeling that whatever you decide will be fabulous!!!
I scored several sets of handpainted chinese murals on silk years ago and have used them in both my entry and powder room. They are timeless!!
I love your blog and your enthusiasm and it's a lot of fun coming along on this journey with you:)
Good morning! The chair is lovely and what an original give-away I must say. I sit on an old folding chair in my office and have always wanted a chair just like this. Perhaps one day. lol!
ReplyDeleteWell, your blog is just lovely as I have told you and I loved your post about Paris. I felt I was there in all the luxury I could imagine never having been there. *sigh* C'est la vie. lol! :)
Meandering through your blog entries and having a great time getting inspiration for my home!
ReplyDeleteI am now following Safavieh on Facebook too.
Off to the next post of yours!
Hello and thanks for including my work in such an amazing line-up.
ReplyDeleteYou can see more of my chinoiserie work at my website http://lynnerutter.com
Goodness! Even though I love all the posts showing where you are with getting moved in, since Chinoiserie makes me go weak in the knees I must admit that today's post is my absolute favorite in the last month! I hope you find a lovely Chinoiserie treatment for your walls that sends you over the moon! Thank you for hosting this wonderful giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI believe the Blue Chinoiserie room which you like so much was done by Alexa Hampton. I really like how the tones of the marble fireplace are picked up in the wallpaper(I'm sure it was custom colored) Trudi Rowe
