There must be quite a few things that a hot bath won't cure, but I don't know many of them. ~Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar
This 1920's Georgian Revival house in the historic Richmond Road section of Lexington, Kentucky, was given a gentle face lift . They required a new master bedroom, closets and bathrooms and several new rooms were added. The generous rear garden needed rethinking, and a new pool and garden walls were added. The rear facade needed porches and a better connection with the interiors, which was achieved with a clever new loggia which unified the new wing with the new porch. The end result is sheer perfection.
Then we move on to the second "open house" in Jamaica. Charles Faudree, a fabulously talented designer designed to dazzle in this spectacular mountaintop Jamaica estate for a couple based in Oklahoma. This gorgeous home was featured in Veranda magazine. Here is what he says about it:
Perched on a hilltop overlooking Montego Bay, Bambu Villa showcases the current owners' engaging mix of Italian, French and Swedish antiques, custom furnishings and boldly patterned fabrics. "Although my first love is country French, I'm not a purist," says Faudree, who has two new books: Country French Florals & Interiors and Charles Faudree Interiors. "I like blending diverse time periods, styles, fabrics, patterns and colors, which adds excitement and magic."
Love, love, love!! Fabulous details!!
