Blue and white...always makes a room just right!

"Sometimes you cannot believe what you see. You have to believe what you feel."
---Morrie Schwartz

Its been a week since I started this blog and I want to say thanks to all who have taken the time to comment, subscribe and follow me.

One accent I plan to use throughout my new home in abundance is blue and white, I love it! No matter what I use as a color scheme in any given room, you can be sure you will see bits and pieces of blue and white. It is so elegant and timeless. If you look through world renowned Interior designer, Jacques Garcia's book, Decorating in the French style, you will see it in almost every room no matter what the color scheme is. I recently had the luxury of staying over at someones house who was lucky enough to use him to decorate their country house in the Loire Valley and let me tell you, it was a DREAM!

I start today's post with a few updated pictures of the facade of the house as its coming along, the outside work has slowed due to very cold temps and TOO MUCH SNOW...with  more to come. Anyway, will update with more when there is more to show, but here's a few taken in the last week, then we move on to the fabulous collection of blue and white pictures............

Anyway today I dedicate my blog page to all things blue and white....there are so many ways in so many styles  and in so many different types of homes where blue and white always looks sensational. Do you have a personal favorite? I start with a designer who clearly has the blue and white formula down to a science, interior designer Mary McDonald (http://www.marymcdonaldinc.com/), she is based in Los Angeles and  her rooms speak for themselves...fabulous! Would love to know your favorite...

Here is an assortment of styles and different rooms in the house where blue and white works every time.......

Enjoy your day.....hope you are doing a better job with your resolutions than I am. I started off with a "no bread" policy for at least a few weeks then I came to the smart realization, what is life without bread for Pete's sake!

  5. I see that you are using Loewen windows. They are the best out there! The showroom in Atlanta closed in 2008, glad to know they are still around. Great craftsmanship on the windows they make.
