My weekend as seen through my iPhone

Hi there...hope your Sunday is going well and off to a good and relaxing start. We have had a really nice weekend, a Friday night football game (and they won which made it even more exciting) dinner out with friends, a visit from a friend in from out of town...and today we are still making up our minds, might do nothing at all which often makes Sundays so wonderful!

So here is a look at happenings in my life through my iPhone as I sometimes do....got the iPhone 5 which has a much better camera so the pictures to me are far better than with the 4, anyway here we go.......

Last weekend we were in Boston, it was such fun despite the somewhat gloomy and very humid weather. I have to say Boston is one city I could easily move to without hesitation...amazing restaurants, an intellectual city,  beautiful and well maintained, and though its a big city it still feels self contained, here are  few snippets from the weekend.....

A cool restaurant called Empire....the decor was stunning!

 Another one called Island Creek

And we had brunch here, Eastern Standard which we have been to many times, love the French Bistro vibe

Then a late night cigar bar.....not really my thing but have to say it was fun and quite an experience!

Back at friends house, loved her mudroom and did as any good blogger would do, snap away....

Pretty new marble bath they just finished...

I like this lighting they used for their bookshelves in his study..its this tiny rope lighting, so pretty!

And the hardware in her Kitchen was pretty too....as a blogger always looking for something interesting:)

And speaking of interesting! They are in contract to buy this house, it is a real project but one thing that is amazing is indoor pool complex, no you are not looking at your local swim club but an indoor pool that is part of the house, it was quite incredible!

Can you just see all the parties they could have in here!

The grounds are beautiful with lots of stone walls....

The sunflowers I brought her, which looked pretty in her beautiful kitchen

Meanwhile back at home......How gorgeous is this chinoiserise fireplace? I would so love to make this work for my dining room but its too small.....trying to figure out a way! Love it! It was taken out of an old mansion in the area...

Around the house we had no sconces up in the front foyer because I was holding out for the perfect antique sconces, the thing is if you want them you need to look for them, something I was not doing so I had two extras from the living/dining room and had my electrician put them up "temporarily" which really means that after 24 hours we like enough to make them permanent, they look great and I didn't realize how badly they needed to be there until they were installed!

And with bulbs.....let there be light!

Out on the patio, waiting for a batch of navy and ivory pillows to come in to finish out there and a few more garden stools and finally ordered two planters (we need many more) but starting with two and hopefully they will look as good as I am hoping! It was the most spectacular afternoon.......

This last week it has been handbag central! I am so in love with these bags..every time I am packing one up I want to keep it (which means I want one in every color)....here are a few below. I sold out of both batches but am getting a third in and there are a few pieces left for sale, to see all colors click on this post and email me here if you are interested. They are made of the most scrumptious leather, fit right over your shoulder, hold everything including an ipad and to me it's just the ultimate chic everyday tote..yes I am excited about them:)  They will up on the online shop by next week......

Finally I have to say though I was late to the starting gate...I am having a lot of fun with Pinterest and I love Sundays when I have more time to pin away to my hearts content. One day, just one day, I want my entire family to go do their own thing and I want to go to the market and buy a carload of ingredients and come home and make as many things as I can from my Food fun board on Pinterest. I am astounded at the inspiration, creativity and variety that is out there..it is almost overwhelming! Heres a look at some recent food fun pins, click here if you care to see more (warning do not visit on an empty stomach).....

And finally for all you football fans and men out there, of course I thought of you too, this ones for you....

So that's whats happening over here! How about you? What's new and exciting in your world?  An absolutely beautiful weather weekend.....hope you are enjoying yours too. Thanks for stopping in and Happy Sunday!

  8. Hi Tina, love your Boston highlights, I agree a really wonderful city. Always enjoy a look into your magnificent home, the sconces and foyer are showstopping! And I would be planted on that back patio all day long if I were you. I have recently started on Pinterest and can see how it could become addicting so I try to limit my time there and am happy to be following you now, how great is that pepperoni pizza idea? We are a football obsessed family so that is something we will need to try. Have a nice Sunday.

  11. Sounds like you are enjoying the weekend Tina! Isn't it fun when you have a little time to yourself and can putz around the house? Your pinterest board looks wonderful and I need to pop over to take a look. Gorgeous totes and such beautiful colors!

  12. You can't let the fireplace mantel go - it's precious. Even in another area - refinished and built up with more millwork to bump it out from the wall, make it a bit taller. Maybe that would add the grand look to the mantel that it so deserves.

  22. Beautiful day today Tina! Enjoyed our day off together (boys and hubs and me) watched the Patriots squeak out their first win. So fun to see what you have been doing. I need that phone just because it does take such better pics...my son Colin has one, but not me....yet. The foyer sconces look so perfect I can't think of them as second choice, as they look so swell! Your home is simply amazing and I love seeing it from every angle and the little and big things that you add or are thinking of...like the pagoda fireplace surround. Well too bad you couldn't fit it inside your bathroom with the the wonderful chinoiserie wallpaper!! Wouldn't that be something? Or just tuck it in your dressing room!! Wouldn't even have to be a working fireplace, just for the ambience. I love that thing!! And lastly your friends home is so great, how fun to have such a luxury of taking a dip all year round! xoxo
