Which would you choose? Academy award edition!

Happy Saturday to you! We all know what time it is (tomorrow).....why The Oscars of course!! I love nothing more than getting into something cozy, grabbing some favorite snacks and settling into a cozy chair to take in all the Oscar glamour! My family knows to not disturb me come Sunday around 4pm unless its a MAJOR emergency...they know I take my  "entertainment tonight preshow" very seriously. Hey in a family of all "men"...its not an easy battle to always win! How about you? I admittedly, call me vain,  enjoy the pre show maybe a tad more than I do the actual awards but its all in good fun and sooooo glamorous.

So this year as I did last...its time to pretend that you are actually going to the big show. Yes, you get to sashay down the red carpet and strut your stuff! So.....the big question is what are you wearing? Or let me rephrase that who are you wearing as they  say in red carpet world. Here we have 18 wonderful amazingly beautiful choices, and I not only want to hear what you are wearing but want to hear all the details.....right down to your hair, bag and shoes and of course the bling! So do tell.....and we are off!

  1. Hi! This IS fun:) OK for me, I love #1 for the divine color and forgiving cut, I could see being very comfortable and confident in that dress, waltzing down the red carpet fending off the paparazzi!
BUT #3 and #17 are really "me". Elie Saab is to me, the master of the universe in creating the most dreamy gowns known to mankind. I want to come back in my next life as his assistant that he cannot live without so I get free loot:) What a job that would be!
So 1, 3 and 17 but I do like the pared down elegance of 5 and 7, hummmm.......have fun!

  2. Elie Saab by far. His dresses are work of art! I guess all the cellebs are still asleep with a long day ahead, the make up artists, stylists, assistant must be up, already running in caffeine...
I usually don't watch until the very end, I find the "thank yous" a little tedious but since our weather is so miserable I might follow your lead and watch entertainment to night... Happy week end!

  3. Love you're writing! How's that book coming along? Anyway! I, too live with ALL boys and I can relate for sure! I love 4 and 6! Gorgeous dresses!

  4. Elie Saab.... imagine? 3 is my favorite. And yet there is something about the simplicity of Halston's orange #4 that I love. I suppose it would depend on my mood! I, however will be in my flannel pj's, curled up watching the festivities!

  5. This is quite a collection of beauty Tina. And how fun to hear from you. I love 1, the color and like you said the cut is so flattering to nearly any body type. I do love 5 too, with either of these it would be a simple beaded clutch maybe a huge pair of diamond chandelier earrings and that's it. A close third is 18, gorgeous color and beadwork. Great post, enjoy the show.

  6. Love the orange Halston, and the pink #13. I think i would wear the pink to the event though.

    ReplyDelete
  7. numbers 3, 7, and 11, you have a great eye and wonderful taste!

    ReplyDelete
  8. While I love the elegance of #7, I think I'd go a bit more sparkly for the Oscars! #18 would be my choice. It has a simple, elegant cut, but with all the detailing, it's anything but simple. I love the color! (I also like #17, but it would have to be altered a bit better to not show those nips!)

  9. So hard as all are so gorgeous,
but I'd love to go wearing choice 4 or 15.

    ReplyDelete
  10. 1, 4, 13 and 16 only because I am craving color and think the Oscars are a great place to do it. These are all just incredible though and I would be honored to be able to wear any one of them!

  11. WoW! What a selection....very nice! #6 for me...

  12. 1 (great color for me), 6 (favorite color) or 10 (so elegant). These are just so beautiful.Lets hope the actresses will dress this good this year!

  13. #2 hands down. It looks like an Oscar, love that it has the gold but not an overkill, the column style makes anyone look better. Great choices, hope Argo wins!

  14. Going for the pick six! All of the choices are amazing though. Also, even thought it is a long shot, I am rooting for Denzel for his performance in "Flight." If you haven't seen it, check it out.

  15. Elie Saab creates gossamer masterpieces. I would choose number 3. I love the peachy golden color. I would wear it with my diamond and pearl drop earrings, a vintage rose gold diamond and ruby bracelet (rose gold would go so well with the color of this dress) and a vintage antique beaded purse in cocoa that belonged to my mother. I cannot wait.

  16. Love the elegance and sophistication of #1. With that beautiful, long neck of mine, I would need diamond chandelier earrings (from Harry Winston?) and a diamond bracelet. Of course, my most stunning accessory will be George Clooney.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Number 3 and 17 are really my choices. I love the graceful lines and the soft colors. I would wear killer earrings and a fabulous bracelet with either dress but no necklace. The dress (either one) would be enough for me.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I love the simplicity of 5 and the elegance of 18.

    ReplyDelete
  19. another hard choice! If I had their bodies, I would chose 6, 10, or 11, 2.

    1. Jane,
Remember Tina promised the body ( waist, etc) comes with the gowns-!!:) lol

  20. If I was purchasing for myself--Diva that I am, I would select either Number 16 or 18. I love #1, but it is the wrong red for me. I adore 18. Perfection and it moves. I would love to see these dresses for myself someday. But instead, I will curl up in my sweats, sip a 6oz bottle of Champagne through a straw, and watch all. These are really beautiful gowns and true works of art.

  21. Number 9 for me-all the way around. Great fun here today- xo Diana

    ReplyDelete
  22. I love number three...actually several are wonderful, but I would definitely choose number three

    ReplyDelete
  23. #4. Definitely 4, with #13 as a close second place.

    ReplyDelete
  24. What a great selection of gowns!! This is so much fun!! My daughter and her husband are here for the weekend and we both looked at the choices. She would choose #9 Notte by Marchesa and I would choose either #11 or #18 Eli Saab. It's fun in fantasyland!! Thanks Tina!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Too many good ones to choose from! I love Choice 3 , 10 and choice 18! In that order!
    Thanks!!

  26. Forget the fashion, forget the awards....bring on Seth McFarlane!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Love these Saturday posts they are so much fun! If I were presenting I would choose dress # 18 Elie Saab is always timeless. Otherwise I would choose dress #4 Halston Heritage for comfort AND style plus the color is smashing!

    ReplyDelete
  28. There is absolutely nothing more fun than looking at pretty party frocks, thank you for such a fun post this Saturday morning! These were all so luscious it really was hard to choose. Sigh. I'll be counterintuitive and bypass the Elie Saab, opting instead for #9, the Notte by Marchesa. Sleek, mostly simple and black, three attributes I like in a gown. :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. 19" waist...I think I was 14 when my waist was this size.
But, seriously, I feel exactly as you and most of the others...don't leave the TV even for 1 minute...love to see all the outfits the most. This year, I love Jennifer Lawrence, and I think she is one of the few who actually dress appropriately, and for someone so young this is difficult. I have no idea who will win anything this year...I'm an unbiased viewer for the 1st time in years. One thing, I think Skyfall should have been nominated for something other than Adele's title song 'cause it's so good.
And, unlike everyone else, I really don't think Argo is the best picture. Just saying...

    ReplyDelete
  30. Great post with beautiful choices. #1 is a perfect red carpet choice, especially if I were young again. '-) But #7 is what I'd select now. Love the simple understated elegance and black is perfect with my gray hair. Fun...........I'll be watching.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Really??? I have to choose ONE??? I can't...they are all gorgeous and I'd like to wear any one of them....well, maybe not ANY one of them. For instance...I love #17, but you can see a little too much!!! OK then....here's my fav's #'s 1,2,4,5,10,13 and 18!! A girl can dream, can't she?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Number 4 and number 5 got my attention. There is something so glam, so sexy and yet innocent, about bare shoulders. I can just imagine how beautiful I would feel wearing one of those dresses--on top of the world. Hope your men leave you alone so you can have a great time watching the awards.

Not sure if you have had your new background up for awhile and I just haven't noticed, but I really like it!!

    Have an awesome Saturday.

  33. Tina,
You make every event so much fun. Last night before going to bed, I knew you'd have this and couldn't wait to see it. Yes, I love what you decided to wear. My top choice would be #5, Donna Karan. Then, there would be a toss up between 10 (Franco) & 18. I can remember years ago when Charlize Theron made her first appearance on The Red Carpet , she looked absolutely stunning in that gold, cream gown. She is so beautiful. 5, 10 & 18 remind me of her. Then for the after party I'm attending, I am changing to #4. That color looks so festive and it will be such an easy dress to dance the night away in. See you on The Red Carpet tomorrow evening ! :)

  34. Tina, I lost my heart
    to the Kaufman Franco,
but I do think number 1
    and number 16 would
    be comfortable and
    elegant, as well. Can't
    wait to watch, either.
    Hoping my daughter
and I can sneak in a
    matinee for Silver Linings
    Playbook, today : )

    Happy Saturday!

    xo Suzanne

  35. I love #4 - love the color, the style, everything. Not sure I'd be daring enough in real life to wear it, but since we're dreaming, why not?

  36. #5 and #10 :) also love #1 (in black or anything but red) So funny about your "pre-show" moment:) I'm with you! It's the best part and I can't imagine having all those men around!! I'll be watching and I can't wait to see the results. I feel bad that I haven't seen all the movies that are being nominated!

    Have fun!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hmmm. #4 or #8 pour moi, probably 4, what a fun dress. The Seattle Film school does a great fund raiser for the Oscars each year, guests are invited to dress up for the party, and then we watch the oscars together in restaurant that has theatre seating, next best thing to being there!!

  38. Withouta doubt No. 4 is me (50 years ago)Butyou will see me in my reclining chair in my favorite and extremely casual clothes (but I will wear bling ear rings). Have a wonderful evening everyone.Betty Baker from Ontario,Canada.

  39. May I add some of the skirt fabric under the lace on choice 17? If so, I choose that. And I believe George Clooney will be my date : )

    ReplyDelete
  40. I would pick choice 16 (but who is the designer?) with my red curls down.

    ReplyDelete
  41. 18 then 5 then 11& 13. Wouldn't it be great to have someone dress us and do our hair and makeup as well? admucha@aol.com

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh dear, I have to say ONE. But 18 is my second choice ONLY in that my hips would not be good in such a slim design. Oh TINA you are like me; I have got to see the show from the moment the first person steps onto the red carpet! LET'S HAVE FUN! Anita

    ReplyDelete
  43. OK if I were a winner/nominee, it would be dress 1, 3 11 or 17. Sorry but I love them equally and they all have that wow factor.
If I were a guest or just presenting, I could take it down a notch and would go for a splash of color so give me 4, 13 or 16.
My daughter loves 14, she thinks its very modern and young and hip.
Beautiful grouping of dresses Tina, Hollywood could use you!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Tina, how fun! I'm on a rd trip w/ my husband, reading out loud your blog, and showing him all these gorgeous gowns. HA! He wasn't too entertained but, hey, he's man. What does he know about glam??? I would definitely choose the last gown. BEAUTIFUL! Drop diamond earrings, silver ankle strap heels, a small silver clutch bag. And of course, George Clooney on my arm! A girl can dream!

    Blessings,
    Donna

  46. Thinking no. 11 - and I will be watching it now that Downton Abbey is done for the season - man it went by fast. . . :( M.

  47. Love 12, 13 or 15 as long as the body comes with

    ReplyDelete
  48. My favorite is Elie Saab #11. But I also like Temperley London #14. But I also like...

    ReplyDelete
  49. 14 and 17, simple elegance, and, over the top elegance--I'd have to see how I felt that day!! Love this!

    ReplyDelete
  50. So many great choices. Ok, first let's admit anything Elie Saab is divine. The orange Halston Heritage is so beautiful, and the creamy white dress by Donna Karan is such a classic - almost better than a LBD.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'd probably be flaming about in number 15 worrying about my arms and hips but I absolutely love number 11(day dreaming of younger years.)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm wearing #9 by Notte by Marchesa (cue the twirl here...lol) I'm with you Tina I only watch the Oscar pre show I don't watch the actual awards show and wait until morning and look who won on here.

  53. Elie Saab in black please... and I can't wait to see the who's who wearing what... xv

  54. Enjoy the Oscars Tina!
The best dress I think is #13. Also rans are 1,2,3,5,11.
    #s 9, 14, and 15 are terrible.
    The rest are meh.
    Just one person's opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I would choose #16. Nothing around the neck. Moderate dangling Sapphire earrings. Medium to large silver cocktail ring with some definite bling. Simple silver 3" heals and a sparkling, small silver clutch adding more bling bling. Hair would be in a sexy up do with soft, loose strands of hair around my face. I am very confident and ready for pics. Later, I would be featured in People Magazine one of the best dressed. Joan Rivers would give me a raving review.

  56. 1, 1, 1!! I love everything about it. Just beautiful, Tina. But then again they all are.

    ReplyDelete
  57. well as long as the body comes with the dress, then yes to no. 17.......it took my breath away. the only conundrum would be the lack of space for my harry winston necklace........ok, i'll settle for a tiara
    fun, fun, fun

  58. I vote for #5. Not too busy yet definitely able to make a statement.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Choice 3 if I am up for an award with a gold Judith Leiber clutch, incredible Harry Winston large diamond chandedier earrings and a beautiful diamond cuff. Hair would be up and makeup done to compliment the color of the dress.
Choice 13 if I am not nominated but still want to really shine as a presenter, all gold jewelry, maybe a chunky cuff and a big pair of gold and diamond earrings, nothing on my neck, hair straight down. Gold strappy shoes.
So 3 and 13- my friend who is a photographer is there as we speak and says it is just incredible, first time hes there for this event and said even before they arrive the red carpet is on fire!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Oh my God! This is torture! I can't possibly decide. If you only have one Elie Saab dress it might be a little easier, but so many, it's impossible to pick. And then there's that Roland Mouret fuschia number! Forget me, I can't decide!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Oh I have to go with #6...the Donna Karan.....it looks comfy and that is key!!! I am sitting on my sofa right now watching the red carpet and wishing it was me that was up for an award :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. You always make it so hard...I can't choose just one...#1 #4 and #11...Miss chatting. Life is just so busy. XO, Mona

    ReplyDelete
  63. Watching now....loved the pre-show! So many beautiful gowns to choose from, but I would want to be glamorous and comfortable, so I would have to go with my favorite color and one of my favorite designers, Marchesa!!!

Hope you having a wonderful, uninterrupted time watching the show!
    xoxo Elizabeth
