Which would you choose?

I had to add word verification to my comments box. The amount of pesky anonymous commenters with their links was out of control. Hoping doing this for a few days will ward them off......fingers crossed!

Now for the fun party....and oh this is a fun one. Right up my alley....lets just say the foodie fairies have knocked on your door. They have delivered the news that one celebrity chef (American based) of your choice is going to be coming to your house this weekend!! That is right YOUR house, so get that guest bedroom ready!

On night one she/he will prepare a feast/dinner party  for you and all your close friends and families (can you say par-tay)  and the second night they will make anything your little heart desires for your own family. Imagine that......a dream chef in your kitchen two nights in a row! Did I mention she/he is bringing his assistant who will do all the prep and clean up? Yep, so while you are kicking back on your comfy chair  they will be busy both before and after the meal....sound good? I thought you might agree! So here we go, remember you get one! Take your pick.........

CHOICE 1 Mario Batali

CHOICE 2 Giada De Laurentis

CHOICE 3 Emeril Lagasse

CHOICE 4 Ina Garten

CHOICE 5 Bobby Flay

CHOICE 6 Michael Chiarello

CHOICE 7 Thomas Keller

CHOICE 8 Paula Dean

CHOICE 9 Jamie Oliver

CHOICE 10 Gordon Ramsey

CHOICE 11 Daniel Boloud

CHOICE 12 Rachel Ray

Oh boy..this is not easy. Tough choice, I agree. I love so many of them. Sorry, Gordon ruled you out immediately, you scare me and I would be petrified to have you come in and start critiquing, I am quite sure you might bring me to tears :) I already feel like Ina and I are good friends (she just doesn't know it) and I could really imagine a whole host of others in my kitchen working their magic....so whose your pick! Your turn! Hope you have  a delicious day.....

  1. Oh, I have been getting spam too. What a pain. I am thinking of approving all comments before they post. The word thing drives me nuts. Spam is the worse.

This is tough. I love Giada but would most definitely choose Ina. Her food is fattening, delicious, and she is just so chill. Paula Deen would be quite the entertainer though!

    Fun post. xo

  2. Even though its a tough choice (between Daniel, Emeril, Michael and Jamie) I choose Jamie, his cooking is very innovative and he is a great personality who would be a lively addition to our home for the weekend! Ever since we ate at Barbecoa, he has been a favorite of mine. Fun post.

  3. Definitely Giada...I love all her recipes! Closely followed by Ina especially if she could bring Jeffrey (am I crazy or are they the cutest couple?). Mario Batali would be fun too....I love Eataly and Tarry Market and all of his restaurants I have been to. Definitely NOT Gordon Ramsay...I didn't even like his restaurant I went to that much!

It is COLD out there today...keep warm!

  4. Paula Deen. But I would have to not eat a week before of a week after so I could fit into my skinny jeans;) Ann (admucha@aol.com)

  5. OK I can easily narrow it down to Ina and Thomas Keller. Giada, Rachael, and Bobby annoy the poo out of me. I have it on good authority that Michael is a total ass. Gordon is TERRIFYING and I'm afraid he would make me and my guests cry. Paula, well I can just eat a stick of butter and call it even. Jamie is adorable but I don't know, sometimes he's a bit to chatty. Emeril is overrated. And I've eaten at Mario and Daniel's restaurants, so been there, done that :)

But I'm with you, Ina and I are totally best friends, she just doesn't know it yet. I adore her and I want to be couple best friends with her and Jeffrey and me and M. And shack up at their party barn.

But seriously, could it get any better than Thomas Keller cooking for me? Especially if it includes his homemade Oreos? That sounds like perfection!!

  6. Dear Tina, It's Mario Batali. I loved his television show.

  7. I truly cannot make up my mind! I love so many of them for so many different reasons! It's a huge toss up between Mario, Giada, Ina, Bobby and Emeril! I haven't just loved every one of Emeril's restaurants in New Orleans so I guess I would have to choose….Bobby! Not sure why…except that I always love watching him and have always wanted to try one of his places! They would all be fun! Well..almost all! Great idea for a post, Tina! Thanks so much for stopping by. I've been contemplating the word verification thing myself! It's truly ridiculous how much spam I am getting from both of my blogs…I can only imagine how much you've been receiving! Have a great Wednesday!

  8. This is so hard, but so easy at the same time. For me I would have to choose Thomas Keller, even though we were not wowed by French Laundry, we were at Per Se and Bouchon, I am a huge fan of his, love his books and his style. So Thomas gets my vote (Ina would be my backup choice).

  10. Oh, do I have to pick one? I would love either Michael Chiarello or Giada DeLaurentiis! Of course, Italian food is my favorite, right next to (not above or below) French cuisine (Ina). Oh, man, I have to pick 3, sorry! :) Thanks for the fun party quiz

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'd have to say Ina or Jamie - but I really wish chef Michael Symon was an option! Then again I don't know how to resist Thomas Keller either. Eating at the French Laundry would be a dream!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Tina,
Can I please have 2 chefs? I love Ina Garten, I guess that would be my first choice. That said, I also love Bobby Flay...wouldn't this be fun?
    Karen

  13. INA FOR SURE! I would love everything she would prepare! I love her sense of grace and ease!
    Blessings-

  14. Give me some southern love, Paula or Emeril please.

  15. I hear you re. the spam comments, ugh...I tried doing without the word verification for a day & was bombarded...wish people like that would realize that stuff doesn't work...& I love Gordon, especially when he revamps restaurants...granted I wouldn't want him near my kitchen! LOL :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. To be fair, I would one one woman and one man, so Giada and Daniel would be my choices. What a meal that would be!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I would pick Emeril. I think he is cute and has a sweet personality. It could be an act. Gordon Ramsey is a complete charmer with the ladies when not on camera. He saves the mean stuff for the camera. I love one international cook best of all, Marja from Kimchi Chronicles, a show that airs on PBS. Fun game.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I do love so many of them, but how fun would Jamie Oliver be? His food is always amazing -- the cookbooks are flavorful yet easy and yet his top restaurants can be as glamorous as any of best. He's focused on making healthy food for both our kids and the kids of Great Britain, and his restaurant 15 is giving careers to young people who've lost their way. And that accent? Ina and Giata would be tied for seconds, again for the fun factor. And who would be cozied up in their chair? I'd be in the kitchen the whole time learning and laughing!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Well, since Tyler was not on the list.... I guess my second choice would be Michael Chiarello ;-) He seems fun, and I've actually learned techniques from watching his shows, and of course the Italian food - Molto bene.

  20. Ina will always be my first love but, since i'm trying to eat healthier I have to go with Jamie but, for special occasions it's going to be Keller

    ReplyDelete
  21. Giada. No question about it. Italian food...... Yum!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. To have one of THE most respected chefs in the world cooking dinner in my house??!...without hesitation, Thomas Keller.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Giada!! i love the way she cooks and i love itallian foods so she whould be my choice!

    ReplyDelete
  24. My comment just erased! I really adore many of these cooking personalities, I think Emeril, Paula and Bobby would be so much fun, they seem so warm and fun. But I do love Giada, Ina and Mario too. Hum...OK narrowing it down to Bobby and Paula. I know they will be as fun to hang out with as their food is delicious!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ah! So difficult to decide..... I'd have to go with Mario Batali and then Ina:)

    ReplyDelete
  26. This would be SO hard!!! But my choices are: Thomas Keller to do the cooking. Ina, to do the 'setup' and organize things they way they should be. I love Ina, I'm really sad I never visited her shop while the doors were still open.

And as far as company, I want Emeril to visit!!! I'm not entirely sure I love his recipes, but I've NEVER enjoyed watching anyone cook the way I love watching him! He seems warm and genuine, fun - but not crazy or over the top. I just love how his eyes crinkle when he's laughing, it makes me laugh too!

  27. Definitely Ina Garten! You put it well when you said you feel like you're already friends with her...she has that way about her (even on TV)!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think you have included some of the very best. In terms of sheer food, to me no one can stand up to Daniel Boloud, every single time we have dined at his restaurants, its been an over the top wonderful experience. So he gets my vote. Thank you for this fun game.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I was going to say Giada, cause it would be SO delicious. But then when I saw paula, I thought "FUN"!!!!! I pick Paula and fun!!! XO, Pinky

    ReplyDelete
  30. This is a fun one! Definitely Ina. Not only because she is a great cook but I also think she'd be so much fun to have around!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Being a Southern gal myself-I'd choose Paula! Love that gal!

    ReplyDelete
  32. On the premise I'd be able to assist, I couldn't pass up the opportunity of learning from a Michelin 3-star chef, Keller or Boulud. Considering Neiman Marcus actually offered this private dinner in their 2012 Christmas catalog...I'd be a fool to pass up a $250,000 dinner - HELLO!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Jamie or Mario...... but I wouldn't shut the door on any of them!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. This is so hard! I have to say Paula. My 15 year old daughter does a great Paula impression, so I suppose I should have her to give my daughter more material. This is so much fun!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think Giada, because she's always smiling and she's of Italian heritage. Then Jamie Oliver. Then Ina.
Don't you just hate hateful people. I cannot believe people have time to be so negative, and actually put it on paper !!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Paula, I would just love to sit at the counter and chat with her.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ina is the one for me. I could watch and listen to her all day. I have her cookbooks and rely on them.

    ReplyDelete
  38. We actually got to cook a dessert with Daniel so we'd probably choose someone else - just for variety's sake! It would be a tough choice betweeen Ina and Thomas and since we cook so many of Ina's recipes ourselves (and do all the clean up, too) we'd have to go with Thomas Keller.

  41. Keller and Boloud for technique - Ina and Jamie for fun. This is too hard.

  42. Jamie Oliver... I watch his TV program on Sunday nights... his cooking is effortless, fresh and delicious... plus he seems like a delightful man... I love these Tina... so fun... xv

  43. I love & look forward to your blog every morning. I know all the chefs you have posted & like you feel Gordon is not anywhere in the equation, neither is Giada,Mario(tho- I adore Italian food) Rachael I admire for not having formal training-Micheal C is from my home town area- but I have heard he is a little pompous. So once again tho I watch most of them or have their books Ina would be my choice as I think she is the most approachable & not pretentious. But then you never know till you meet them. Thanks for all you wonderful articles. Kathryn

  44. Oh, Ina's my friend, too; I love her and want to meet Jeffrey! I have every cookbook. Love the Paris one and had a Parisian themed dinner party around her Coq au Vin recipe but my favorite, and most used, is the Barefoot Contessa Family Style. Needless to say, she's my pick!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ina Garten. One of my good friends, Pam Krauss, was Ina's editor for a lot of her books. In fact, Ina featured a recipe from her in the last cookbook, and she has been on Ina's show twice. Pam now is V.P. of Clarkson Potter so no more editing for her. However, she told me that whenever she has a dinner party, she uses Tyler Florence's cookbooks. She was also his editor along with Giatta's and Rachel Ray. She is really fun to talk to, and she told me some interesting behind-the-scenes stories.

  46. What a difficult choice, but I would have to choose Ina Garten!!! I absolutely LOVE everything about her!! Not only does she cook delicious food, but she does it with style and grace!!! She would be also be my Favorite just to hang out with!! She has fun and I like that about her!!

  47. Fun! I think I would pick Ina Garten! I love her desserts! I had to stop accepting anonymous comments because the it was out of control and taking up so much space on my phone.

  48. Paula Deen for sure. Even if she goofed with the food, it would be so much fun! Judy M.

  49. My anonymous /link comments have been going into the spam folder (for the most part). I will let you know how tough your word verification is. I choose Ina and Daniel. How great is the comment from Nantucket Daffodil? Those are the GOOD links. I'm going to have to check out her blog right now.

  50. I have to go Jamie - plus I only know four of them and I would get indigestion sitting at the same table as Gordon. I love Jamie, his style, personality, food and way of entertaining. I know it would be a fun table.

  51. Hmmm, Jamie Oliver hands down.

  56. Hello Ms. Tina, (Yes I'm slowly easing my way back into blog land...;)

Bobby Flay would be my choice. My husband has tried a few of his inventions and I always want more! But Jamie Oliver could come too ;)

Miss you miss you. I promise to be a better blog friend.

  57. Not a tough choice at all. Michael Chiarello has made me dinner before he was a famous chef and it was the best dinner I've ever eaten in my life. I'm a big foodie, ate at the best and that meal was THE best. At first bite I thought I was gonna melt right off my seat. Good grief, still remember it today.

  61. Gordan Ramsay, just to make my husband jealous. He is jealous of the actor from "The Mentalist" and Gordan Ramsay. Arab husbands lol. If Gordan Ramsay came to cook for me, than I am sure my husband would sign up for chef's school;)
