Which would you choose?

Good Monday morning to you  and how was your weekend? Hope wonderful. I must say with the glorious changing of the leaves around here I am sure to grab my camera whenever I am headed out,, as at every turn there is something I want to capture on film. The foliage is about a week  from peaking and is looking so spectacular. That coupled with the cooler less humid weather is really making for some delightful days. Perfect walking days. How about you? Are you enjoying the foliage?
Today my Which would you choose is slightly different, its more of a Who would you choose? Imagine this.......you are going to have lunch with a famous somebody. Two hours, your choice of restaurant and you get to chew their ear off the entire time, nothing is off limits...you can ask them anything, talk about anything, you are in charge!! Two full hours spent with someone who piques your interest. Fun? I think so.
So, I have gathered an interesting assortment of personalities representing culture, politics, Hollywood, religion, the literary world,  a little bit of everything. I kept both of our current presidents out of the mix and have included several who are now deceased but their legacy and our fascination lives on thus why they are included here......I am really looking forward to seeing who is going to be the busiest lunch companion! Try to narrow it down to to just one......here we go!
CHOICE 1
Audrey Hepburn

CHOICE 2
Bill Clinton

CHOICE 3
Albert Einstein

CHOICE 4
Princess Diana

CHOICE 5
Steven Spielberg

CHOICE 6
Meryl Streep

CHOICE 7
Mark Twain

CHOICE 8
Marilyn Monroe

CHOICE 9
Thomas Jefferson

CHOICE 10
Ernest Hemingway

CHOICE 11
Maya Angelou

CHOICE 12
Coco Chanel

CHOICE 13
Prince Charles (and he promised  "the boys" will join you for coffee and dessert)

CHOICE 14
Mother Teresa

CHOICE 15
Leonardo Da Vinci

CHOICE 16
Bill Gates

OK...for me, seriously I could close my eyes and point to any one of these fascinating personalities and be over the moon to be lunching with them! Oh we would have so much to say...or at least I know I would have a lot to say and ask. Each and everyone of these people totally fascinates me for one reason or another......and what about you? Who could you see sitting down with at your favorite watering hole and kicking back with? And why? What do you want to ask them?
I am so curious to know who gets to be top dog in this grouping. For those of you thinking humm....wish she would have thrown a little more glamour or fun into the mix, fear not.....a glamorous/Hollywood version soon to come:)
Thanks for stopping in and hope you have a wonderful Monday and start to the week!

  1. Omg. Such a tough choice! I'd have to say bill gates. I find him do fascinating and he is probably the most innovative entrepreneur of all time.

  2. Princess Diana followed closely by Maya and Bill Gates. Love these choices but I could most see sitting down with Diana and having a fun girl to girl lunch, full of laughter and fun conversation.

  3. Call me shallow, but for me it HAS to be Coco Chanel! Despite all of the great minds listed here, the most burning question I'm battling with right now is - how do I keep chic and stylish in my 40's without looking like Mutton dressed as Lamb - not sure if that's just a British term, but hopefully you get my drift! If she could come home with me after lunch and sort through my wardrobe, and give me a few styling tips, then that would be even better - lol!

  4. Wow Tina - this one was HARD!!! I would have to say Bill Clinton - particularly if he could bring Hilary along! Hemingway, as one of my favorite writers, would be fascinating but I would be afraid he wouldn't say much or would be mean to me. And, I would love to know what Thomas Jefferson or Leonardo da Vinci would think of our world today as both men were such visionaries. This was so thought provoking for a Monday morning - I love it.

Enjoy this gorgeous fall day. You have inspired me to go take some photos outside!

  5. Hmmm - Audrey Hepburn or Da Vinci. They'd be very different lunches for sure.

  6. Well I would love to lunch with Ernest Hemingway~I have always been fascinated by him and after reading the Paris Wife, even more so now.

  7. In this order-
    Leonardo
    Albert
    Maya
    Mother Teresa

Woderful idea, and such inspirational figure, really got me thinking about what I would ask each of them!

  8. I would have to choose Bill Clinton, followed closely by Leonardo da Vinci.

  9. I would pick Princess Diana. She was such a kind and compassionate person. I feel she would be very easy to talk to and had a good sense of humor. I really admire everything she did, and stood for.
I know we are to just pick one, but
Second choice would be Mother Theresa, I know I would be so humbled and really focus on that there is so much more than just worrying or focusing on your own life and to focus more on what you can do for others and how you can serve them. After all we are all here to help each other. Mother Theresa was a pure form of love for all mankind.

  10. In this order:
    Princess Diana
    Maya Angelou
    Bill Clinton
    Bill Gates

  11. This is SO hard. I have always been in awe of Albert Einstein and Bill Gates, admired Mother Teresa and loved hearing Maya Angelou. I could always see myself being friends with Princess Di! So how do I choose just one? OK lets make it Princess Di, I know we would have so much fun! Great post Tina.

  12. Coco (for fun and fashion advice) Maya( for inspiration) or Princess Diana (because she is so likable and such a gentle soul)....girl power all the way! Great list of truly memorable figures.

  13. Meryl, no question about it and if she was busy Bill.

  14. I would have to have multiple lunch dates....such interesting people. If I had to narrow it down I'd like to have lunch with:
    Meryl Streep
    Bill Clinton
    Mark Twain
    Maya Angelou

    ReplyDelete
  15. That is an incredibly tough one. I'd have to go with Boll Clinton though. I'll admit I've always loved him :)

  16. Tough one.

I know I would eliminate Marilyn Monroe right off the bat though, never thought much of her, certainly not as a role model, too vapid.

Mother Theresa intrigues me, she was such a fine example of how to be a Christian. She lived it to the fullest. What I like most is that she meant what she said, said what she meant and was all action. So I think I would pick her.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ernest Hemingway would be my choice. The other choices are all relatively easy to talk to about their lifestyles, but Hemingway is dark and funny and brilliant all at the same time. What a two hours that would be, but I am sure we would just "drink" our lunch.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Without any doubt, my choice would be Thomas Jefferson. We the People have ventured so far off from what he and the rest of the founding Fathers had envisioned for our America, I would love to hear from him just what he thinks about what we've become.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Mother Teresa to keep me humble and close to God's s will - cause I would Love to have lunch with Coco Chanel! You gave us a very good list of choices i would have very interesting experiences with any and all of them.

    ReplyDelete
  20. i would choose audrey hepburn, for sure!

  21. No doubt, Thomas Jefferson. He was such a multi-faceted man.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I have to say Anonymous took the words right out of my mouth! There are so many questions I could think of for all of these people but those three really stuck out! I might have to add in Audrey, though! Also, I can't quit thinking about how Mark Twain and Albert Einstein look so much alike! Wow! Have a wonderful Monday, Tina!

    ReplyDelete
  23. For me, either Meryl Streep or Coco Chanel.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thomas Jefferson -first choice
    Mark Twain - second choice
Coco Chanel - third choice - just for girl/ fashion / men talk

    ReplyDelete
  25. All great choices. I would have to go with Da Vinci. I say that because he was a mind way before his time. From art to inventions, I am sure he would make great conversation.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Mother Teresa or Coco Chanel! Both would be fascinating with totally different perspectives. Happy Monday Tina!

  28. Hemingway would get drunk and smash glasses, Audrey would be polite, Mother Teresa would order the diet plate, Clinton would pinch the waitress' butt, Da Vinci would spend all of the lunch doodling on a napkin, Mark Twain would go on and on and on, Albert Einstein would do experiments with the Splenda and water, Marilyn would be hungover, Charles would be boring, Thomas Jefferson would lecture me on eating more vegetables, Maya would read poetry and Bill Gates would be trying to figure out how to computerize the hostesses' seating charts….so
of course it would be Coco.
    Always Coco.
And me thinks our lunch would be verrrrry long…into dinner and beyond.
    GREAT POST TINA!
Hope your week is fab! XO

  29. I respect them all as very accomplished people, too bad I can only choose one. My choice is Maya Angelou, my beloved sage. So human, so accomplished, so humble and willing to share her life's lessons with everyone. My second choice from this list would certainly be President Bill Clinton, oh just sit and pick his brain. His knowledge of just about anything overwhelms and excites me.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh I forgot Diana…we'd have too much flash bulbs in our face and Meryl Streep? mmm, not for lunch. Maybe yoga class instead.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm a huge Audrey fan but think maybe it's better admiring from afar. So my first choice would be Diana - I think she would enjoy a bit of girlfriend chatter and there is so much we really never got to know about her. But former President Bill Clinton - oh, he would so incredible to sit and discuss global issues with {and he has an amazing laugh which would add great fun to the conversation}.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Mother Teresa
    Princess Diana
    Bill Clinton
    Coco Chanel

    ReplyDelete
  33. This is VERY difficult. I would enjoy the company of them all. I think I would choose Mark Twain or Ernest Hemingway or Coco Chanel.
    Linda O.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Leonardo daVinci. I would love to tell him about all the futurist ideas he had that really came to be built. He would be so interested in hearing about all the modern inventions and the way we live now.

    ReplyDelete
  35. As long as we are dreaming I am going to make up my own little lunch, if you dont' mind!

I will start with Einstein and Gates, two great minds and talk all about evolution, science and technology and Bill can fill Albert in on whats happened in the last 30 years!

Then for the main course...Bill Clinton and Marilyn will join me. Wont' that be a hoot, he won't keep his eyes off of her and she can fill me in on the real story with JFK!

For dessert I want Diana and Maya and Meryl to join me, only girls...lots of laughs and life stories. Now that might just be the perfect lunch.
Thanks for letting me dream. Fun post, great choices each and every one!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Prince Charles. I think he is the ultimate gentleman and statesman, I would have a lot of questions about he and Diana, his fascination with his current wife, Camilla and ask him if he really wants to be king.I have a feeling behind that stoic strong very austere exterior lies a kind hearted man who wants to break loose just a little.

A very close second would be Albert Einstein, would love to pick his brain on so many things and then see if I can convince him to come home and study SAT math with my daugher, haha!

    Fun!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wow! Such a tough question! Wouldn't it be fun to have all these faces around a table together? Can you imagine the conversation? I think I would have to choose Audrey - she's always been a source of fascination for me. I would love to talk to her about her Hollywood years, yes, but also the years she spent in Switzerland and the home she created there. Her garden, cooking, how she created a welcoming place for family and friends to relax in. I'd want to chat about aging gracefully and making a difference in the world through both small and great actions. I'm sure there would be so much to learn.

Thanks for some good food for thought to start the day with! Happy Monday, Tina! XO

  38. For me there is no contest Mother Teresa, I would really want to get inside the brain and heart of a single small person who has done such huge things and would hope to leave our lunch inspired to do something myself. Beautiful post!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think we could all use a long lunch with Mother Teresa so she is my pick.
But Coco Chanel would be fascinating!

    ReplyDelete
  40. It's my birthday today, so my guests for lunch are Meryl, a diverse personality in itself as well as down to earth. Let's add Audrey, to share her stories of fame and philanthropy. Princess Diana...I think she would have enjoyed these ladies, too. Of course Leonardo Da Vinci...who would have enjoyed the artistic beauty of all of these great and lovely women. :). Happy Birthday to me....what a divine lunch it would be!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Am I allowed to pick two people? Bill Clinton and Meryl Streep! Love them both to pieces!

    ReplyDelete
  42. How fun...let's see...Bill Clinton would have to be top of my list, next week I'll have lunch with Meryl! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  43. You had us at Audrey though we wouldn't say to any of these fascinating people. Only question is how on earth would we be able to eat in the presence of greatness?

  44. No question for me. Definitely Marilyn. She saw it all and never felt that she was good enough for anyone. I think she had a lot more to offer than anyone ever gave her credit for, but was willing to do what it took to survive. I think she would be fascinating.

  46. Hello Tina!

Happy Monday! I love this post...but I cannot choose just one. I love each and every one of these people and would love to have dinner, lunch or even a cup of tea with one and all!

I have a wonderful day, Elizabeth

    ReplyDelete
  47. Lunch with Princess Diana would be divine, but I'm sure Einstein would be very interesting, indeed.
    Beth @ simplergifts.blogspot.com

  48. Oh, and what about Whitney Houston?

    ReplyDelete
  49. What a fun twist on your series Tina! I'd have to choose Einstein or Da Vinci, although not sure I'd be able to keep up! :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. I would have to say Meryl or Mother Teresa. Both so talented, one for caring for others and the other for her talent to become someone else to share with us wonderful stories and peoples lives.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Definitely Princess Diana (although the promise of coffee and dessert with "the boys" puts Charles as a 2nd choice!) - she is so full of class and style and grace, and she used her status to bring awareness to such important causes. I would love to pick her brain and hear her perspective on being a lady and a mother and philanthropist and fashion icon.

  52. No contest, Bill Clinton, lunch would be a riot!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Tina what a great group of people. I have lots of questions for so many and others i could just sit and listen to their wisdom and intelligence (Maya,Albert and Bill G) if I were to sit down with Leonardo Da Vinci,I would ask him to doodle me something on a napkin as a keepsake!

I would be hard pressed to pick just one but have to say ironically all women rank my top 3- Diana, Meryl and Marilyn Monroe. Fun post.

PS Got my jars yesterday, am in LOVE with them, going to send pictures as soon as they are all set up.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I would choose Mother Theresa, I think she was such a fascinating woman and cared so much for other human beings, especially the sick.

    ReplyDelete
  55. There are so many on this list that would be fascinating. I would love to speak to Audrey about the charitable work she did with children in Africa; Meryl would be fascinating and a hoot; but -- forced to make a choice -- I would pick President Clinton.
    Best...Victoria

    ReplyDelete
  56. What an amazing round up! I love the idea of sitting down with someone we admire. My top choice would be Bill Gates, then Albert Einstein and then Da Vinci, all such visionaries in their fields...can you imagine the three together! Oh boy, it would be a lively lunch!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Jefferson would be totally fascinating. He's so far above the current stream of politics. Talk about a creative, deep thinker.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Such diverse choices! I would have to choose Leonardo da Vinci! After peppering him with, questions about his art, his visions, his GENIUS, I would just HAVE to ask him about the Illuminati!
want to know where their secret meeting place is located, and I'd ask him to identify some other famous members!
I can only imagine how fascinating he would be!

    Best to you...
    Barbara

  59. I would have to say Mother Theresa! No matter what your fairth, she is a supurb example of how one can live their lives for others. Such a great role model.

    ReplyDelete
  60. This is very difficult. I would probably go for Prince Charles, with or without the boys. He is one of the most interesting and intellegent thinkers who has been so badly done over by the press. His ideas on architecture, urban planning, organic gardening to name a few, are worth listening to, and his thoughts on his marriages, how the Palace prevented him from marrying the woman he adored and who he later happily got to marry would be fascinating. Otherwise I would be interested in Thomas Jefferson and how someone who could draft that 'all men are born equal' but still own slaves right till his death. His interest in Classical architecture, the creation of his wonderful estate, and the birth of America, would make him a fascinating lunch guest.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hmmm...I think it would have to be Thomas Jefferson (although it's hard for me to pass up Bill Clinton)! I'd have to do some advance reading first, though, to be sure I could keep up my end of the conversation.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Mother Teresa, what one person can do to change the world.

    ReplyDelete
  63. While Bill Clinton would be charming and fascinating, Maya would be all that and sage. Who coul resist her?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Wow - that's a tricky one. But I've always loved her, so Princess Diana for me.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Horribly Horribly hard! My 1st choice would be # 2 Bill Clinton! Ernest would be very interesting, but self absorbed, I'd love to hear about Paris in his time frame. Maya always & Coco always .... but my true toss up would be between # 15 Leonardo DaVinci.

As a painter I would have to sit down with Leonardo.

And to help me with my painting, I am going to spend time on my own, coming up with the questions I would ask him.

Thanks so much for this exercise!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Oh, Prince Charles. I was going to say Thomas Jefferson but then saw Prince Charles. He has gotten such a bad rap but he has done so much to help humanity and architecture, ecofriendly agriculture and gardening, etc. He has really tried and QE has been rather harsh on him. Fortunately she has changed it appears with Prince William. I lived in England for several years so it matters to me (and I am in his “age” group. He seems so genuine. Thanks – great group! Margi

    ReplyDelete
  67. I think Princess Diana. She had such a sweet way about her. I don't think she was treated well by the royal family and suffered in silence a lot of the time. I'd like to give Bill Clinton a hard time about Monica Lewinsky and of course I would just like to see "the Audrey Hepburn" in person! xo

    ReplyDelete
  68. Always been a not obsessed with Audrey so she would bey first pick... then DaVinci.. For my love of art and science! Great post and choices!!
    Xo karolyn

    ReplyDelete
  69. Bill Clinton! Second choice would be Thomas Jefferson, third Leonardo Da Vinci.

    What fun!

    ReplyDelete
  70. They'd all be fascinating, but I'd want to go with interesting and fun. That means Bill Clinton!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Mother Teresa. I have done a lot of volunteering in third world countries in orphanages and in housing widowed mothers. I think we could have great discussions on how to lessen the suffering in the world and could share our experiences. I would love to learn from her.

    ReplyDelete
  72. TJ! I'd lovelovelove to ask him questions - besides, he was a total foodie.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Ahh such a hard choice! Thomas Jefferson would e fascinating, but really they all would be. I think I'll go with Princess Diana because I'm certain out lunch would lead to best friendship and that would be pretty awesome to be besties with Princess Diana.

    ReplyDelete
  74. What a great and fun post to start the week with. I'd say Audrey or Steven but I'm going to go with Coco because I'd want to know the secret of being successful in fashion! Have a great week!

  75. Meryl Streep. I would enjoy conversation with her and think she would be fun...Clinton might be a close second because he's so darn charming.

  76. No doubt, Blessed Mother Teresa! What a lunch! Talk about food for the soul!

    ReplyDelete
  77. I would chose Steven Spielberg. I would pick his brain to see how he chooses the books he reads in order to use the story line format from those books which interest him the most in order to produce a movie. As a fledgling author I would ask what types of characters he needs to move a movie forward to keep the attention of the audience...that and the particular aspect of the music which will accompany the movie which to me makes all the difference in the world, as music touches the entire soul of a story line/movie.
