So....does this have you dreaming of a beautiful outdoor space in which to entertain? It sure has me thinking about how I would love to furnish all our outdoor spaces and is reminding me of how much work there is to be done and of course how you need buckets of money and a money tree to make it happen.   But with outdoor spaces being bigger than ever, and in most places in our country, seeing you  can use them at least 60% of the year...I say go for it! I love being in the outdoors and eating al fresco is my absolute favorite way to dine. So....you know its now your turn to choose your favorite! Enjoy your day and thanks fro stopping in!

PS So many of you asked that I feel obligated to 'fess up" on  my amazing florettes for my bathroom mirror. I was looking high and lo for a pretty delicate crystal (Venetian glass) or "lacey" looking silver rosette. Shockingly they were very hard to find, closest i found was something on the west coast that is custom made and he wanted to charge me 39.00 per rosette, which I would have even considered given my desperation but I didn't want to wait 6 weeks! So....I started brainstorming and when I brainstorm, miracles can happen (on rare occasions) I marched into Michaels...yes, that Michaels as in arts and crafts home of the cheesy plastic flower arrangements and every color and pattern paper known to mankind.. Went over to the novelty/arts and crafts section, furiously scanned every row for a possibility and lo and behold there it was......3 of them get this 3.99!!!!!!!!!! I kid you not, I bought what they had came home and tacked them up. The rest as they say is history....waiting for a few more packages to come in the mail, grabbing my hot glue gun and I promise you will be impressed. Amazing what a little imagination, a little desperation to finish something and an open mind can do.....don't you think?

The bottom left was not the right color, just trying a different shape but preferred the right one

A blurry close up......

So there now you know my secret! But too good to not share, plus its a great example of "high and low". So...wishing you a fabulous day and a super weekend!! Thanks for stopping in.

  2. Choice 15, so amazing...I would never leave.
Cannot believe your rosette secret. Thanks for sharing, who would have thought. Very resourceful of you, and they look so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
    Have a great day.

  3. I liked your post about finding your little florettes. I've always thought that when one doesn't have much money, one is forced to be a bit more creative and inventive, and that beautiful things don't always have to cost much. I think I almost enjoyed doing up my homes more when I was much younger and strapped for cash.
Although Number 3 reminds me of our place in France, I'd love to be relaxing at number 8 right now!
    Have a great weekend.

  4. Love it! Michaels is the place.
I would choose 2 or 7, but as always, they are always perfect.
    Happy Friday,
    Teresa

  5. Wonderful choices to make----I would vote for 8 although 16 is a fantastic choice too but really any of them look comfy and beautiful.

  6. Choice #11 for its fabulous Mary McDonald style with choice #8 as its view.
    Best...Victoria

  7. Hi Tina,I would choose #7 but would imagine that there is an outdoor fireplace behind the two chairs in the foreground. Beautiful!

  8. This one is almost easy, or as "easy" as you ever make them! It's Number 6, hands down, I'm there! If forced to rough it in a second choice I'll take the Johnny Valiant, Number 8. And I am dying over the Michael's find, what a perfect choice for the florettes! It just shows you never know where you will find the perfect thing.

Have a delightful weekend Miss Tina!

  10. I would have to chose the room Mary McDonald designed. Love!

  11. Number 16. It's cozy, warm, inviting. You'd want to linger long past sunset.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I choose number 13, I love the Ivy Clad fireplace. And it just looks REAL. I happen to love an outdoor space that looks like an outdoor space.

  13. Choice #7 looks like a little slice of heaven to me! And well done on the creative sourcing for the rosettes...I think the thrill of the hunt for the "low" items is more fun than the "high" items if you know what I mean...I think they look great. Have a great weekend Tina!

  14. #7...cozy and comfortable.

But any with a pool, too!

  15. Today I feel like hanging out in #7. Adding some California cuisine that pairs well with the two bottles of red and I'm all set!

LOVE your High Lo project. Any interest in signing up for next season's HGTV Design Star? Piece-of-cake, right!?

  16. I am torn between choice 3 and choice 5 - we are restoring an old home and these furnishings would fit perfectly.....oh, but the beautiful environments of all the others! Can anything beat an ocean view?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ooooh - I LOVE these! I think that it's choice 4 for me, closely followed by choice 1. Both are absolutely gorgeous.

  18. OOh so glad you shared your sweet trick with us.. What a find. What a price!!! Congrats.
Patios.. well I love 2 and 7 but of course there is stuff I would change. I just had our son build me a table to seat 12 for outside. We saw one for 1700. and some change but so far the wood was 279! And it's cedar and he copied the one from Restoration Hardware.. So now to find chairs... We do use our patio quite a bit so I am with you.. it's a worthwhile investment!

  19. What a fun "What would you choose" for Friday! My absolute favorite is #8 - I just can't pass up a seaside location and comfy seating arrangement like that! #4 & #7 tied for 2nd place in my book - gorgeous!! Is it bad that I really want all three? We just had an extended patio put in our backyard, but now I need to brainstorm furniture options, so this was great for ideas. Thanks for the post, and have a great weekend!

  21. Good morning Tina, choice 3 for sure. Love the rustic pizza oven. Just did a similar post yesterday but was featuring outdoor fireplaces. Maybe that's why I love the fireplace in 3. Also, you hit the nail on the head regarding the plastic flower arrangements! Never understand why so many buy those. Glad you hit the jackpot. Have a great weekend.

  22. Choice 8 for me! Have a great weekend, Tina!

  23. Tina,
Choice 10, but this was a tough decision.
The rosettes are such a great idea, who would have thought that Michael's could hold the solution for such a lovely mirror?
    Karen

  24. That was tough, I love being by the water too but number three is my pick, I can just imagine the lashings of red wine, laughing with friends, lots of delicious Italian food and wearing something baggy to hide my food baby.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I don't think you could go wrong in any one of those settings, but 2,5, and 7 are my favorites! Lisa L.

  26. Im absolutely smitten with choice #3 is so European to me and alas theres nothing better than food and drinks with friends and family outside viewing the countryside!

  27. #15...
Oh I thought about Michaels when I read your Post! I used the same ones in our last house! Maybe I will add them again to the mirror wall over the fireplace....thinking...
I'm glad you like "low" now and then. In some instances it doesn't make that much difference.

  28. I would pick number 7 - they are all adorable

  29. Love several Tina, My very favorite though is # 11 by Mary McDonald.

  33. I cannot believe your find! The mirror looks incredible and so beautiful. I am going to copy, have a antique mirror panel in my dining room that needs them for a finishing touch. You are such a clever person to have even thought to do that!
Love all these outdoor spaces, but my favorite is 16, what an incredible space. Its like having a living room outside!!

  34. Love the mirror! I am having one made for behind a pedestal tub in my master bath and wondered which company you used for the medallions. I am having much difficulty locating one. I'd appreciate your advice. Thanks!

  37. I don't know there are so many beautiful choices! But I think my number one would be #5.

When we were kids we used to play a game with the Montgomery Wards, or Sears catalog?? (not sure which catalog) but 2 of us sisters would sit on the sofa together and flip thru the fashion photos and "pick it". Whoever picked it first got their choice. Sometimes I would choose on the outfit, sometimes I would choose based on the beauty of the model. Good memories, and simple times!

  38. Aah these photos are gorgeous but I LOVE 7, 10 and 15 because they all have Mediterranean influences and they are a dream! Have an awesome weekend!

  40. Love so many but it came down to 16 and 2. Both settings that would fit in with my style and such wonderful spaces but wouldn't turn down any!
Love the mirror and rosette idea, what an amazing find. Who would have thought Michaels! You have given me a great idea for my small powder room.
Enjoy these last weeks of summer Tina.

  41. Great job Tina! Did you know that some of the most illustrious designers and decorators in the world have always improvised like this? Renzo, Mario, Albert, to name a few...

  42. So hard to pick, but I can only narrow it down to three - 4, 6 and 8. Love your mirror solution. Amazing how resourceful we can get when desperate to finish our houses! Ps would absolutely love to do a shopping tour of NY with you on my next visit, hopefully I'll be over for the gift fair before too long again and we can join up then. x

  43. Definitely choice #8 for me! The ocean views get me every time! :) I also love the rosettes from Michael's. Those craft stores always have hidden gems! Have a great weekend!

  44. Hello Tina, I have not been blogging lately but enjoying reading your posts now ... Straight to the choices, give me number 2 and add a pool (: nothing is better than old world French feeling in a cozy look like that! Never outdated.. Looks like hundreds of years old but with a breath of the new ... Just perfect style for your castle I presume. Number 3 would make me move to Tuscany and 4 has the gravel going on that I did around our home... And love the country feel of it... Etc.
Hugs z and thanks for the inspirations!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Love the rosettes! Love what a little imagination can do! Did you just use hot glue? Amazing. Bloggers everywhere are going to be copying this one!

I like #2 because it's pretty but for intimate girl conversations I think I'd choose #3 because of it's coziness and who can beat a fireplace?!! xo

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh, I must have water, so choice 7 for me. But each one is beautiful so no one could go wrong. What lovely summertime places, Tina....

    ReplyDelete
  47. I am just SO excited that I won. I kinda had this feeling/hope that I would which is weird but I really like those bracelets a lot and so I am just thrilled!!! Thank you for hosting the giveaway!!!

As for these outdoor spaces, I think number 7 would be ideal for our family right now:) Only we live in the city and our backyard is rather small:)

I love how clever you were to find those pieces at Michael's! I always tell my kids "just because you can does not mean you should with regard to purchases like that. How wonderful to find a beautiful and reasonable alternative.

Have a great weekend and thank you for your kind comment. You made me smile.

  51. Tina i am loving #4 but it needs to have hint of #5. I am sure you aren't suprised by this. I love snugging under blankets by the fire on fall nights.. so you are right, the only time you sholuld get out is when the ice sets in...

You are one handy dandy lady! Love the touches to the mirror in the bath, and from Michaels. just proves that it's not the price tag that makes it fabulous.
