What is it about gardens and why we love them so? I am a sucker for a more natural looking garden, kind of like the perfect combination of nature just doing what it does best...growing all kinds of beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers with a little help from us to keep things neat and pristine. Nothing overly done, nothing too perfect and a beautiful lake or pond, a charming gazebo and some gorgeous statuary and planters certainly is the icing on the cake. One thing I never tire of looking at is pictures of beautiful gardens. They literally have the ability to "take me away" to a beautiful, magical, serene place. Do they have that effect on you too? I had a loooong wish list at the start of this summer (being its the first summer in our new house, I came wide eyed and full of dreams and wishes) but the reality is that little has gotten done and the list remains nearly as long as it did when summer started! So....thinking next year is the year (please remind me that I said this).
One thing I wanted to desperately do is start my own garden, had one in our first house and few things could make me as happy as when I ran out first thing in the morning to fetch what nature had sowed.....it was thrilling to load up a big crate of tomatoes and cucumbers! I have planted some flowers this year, and of course several new hydrangea bushes which grow really well around here, they are practically fool proof! I have done some container gardening, (mostly indoors though) and though I have done little....the little I have done has been immensely satisfying and I realized this year how much I enjoy it, always looking for an excuse to visit a nursery or a beautiful florist or greenhouse (to the point where I think some people think I work there)! So next year, my green thumb is going to be glowing and ready for action! Today I share with you some exquisite gardening images I have saved that just make me exhale and immediately bring down my blood pressure a few notches. To boot....this is being tied in with a fabulous gardening giveaway!! Something from my shop in conjunction with a few chic gardening items from Angela's garden. All details on bottom. Enjoy..............

I am right there with you on gardens. I have to stop myself from going to the garden center or I would be there all the time, especially during these warm summer months. I too like things to look natural. Something that doesnt need a lot of maintenance or pruning. I love boxwood hedges because we are talking only one or two trimmings a year, and they look good all winter too. I really like the Lilly pond and statue, and the arbor of roses would be hard to pass by without stopping to enjoy them. Happy gardening to you at your beautiful new home!

ReplyDeleteWe are "phasing" in our landscaping in the back, as it can get expensive. But, I think it will be worth the wait.

So nice to start the day with a walk through such charming gardens. Tina, I'm in a similar place as you - had so many plans to put my green thumb to work this summer, but haven't been able to do all I've wanted. We actually have a stalled landscaping project that needs to get unstuck first. But I would love to have that sweet hat to wear for gardening, though!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!XO

Amazing how you locate the most gorgeous pictures. Absolutely love gardening and find that the work I do outside a wonderful way to relax. thanks, mim
ReplyDeleteWow those garden images are such wonderful inspiration - but as our garden is only new sadly it will be many years before it even comes close to looking anything like these. Actually, let's be realistic it never will. My husband is the green thumb in the house, not that I don't like gardening, but I have to relinquish any rights to the garden so that he hands over the rights to the interiors. Don't want him to meddle in that area.
ReplyDeleteThere isn't anything in your shop I don't love! But I'm really eyeing the 2 angels statue for my garden-gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for introducing me to Angela's garden-great prices! I love the colors in her cute hats.

ReplyDeleteThank you for giving us a chance to win something from your wonderful shop as well as garden necessities from Angela!!!!
I've always wanted a lush garden! My "black thumb" makes that difficult, but I keep trying. ;) Just love the reclaimed wood trivet from your storefront... it's on my wishlist. :) Thanks for the garden giveaway! xo
ReplyDeleteOooh, so many pretty things at Angela's Garden! I'd love to own the pink peony waist apron. Wouldn't it be great for the kitchen, too? xo
ReplyDeleteTina, you know what? Your giveaways just get better & better! Based on the subject of this post, I looked at your garden urns this time, and I love the pedestal urn. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOver at Anglea's Garden, I would try the Performance Glove. Looks like it would stand up to rigouous gardening!
ReplyDeleteTina-what inspiration-would love to visit all of the gardens shown!! Your store is wonderful-way too much temptation, but love the cherubs and your moss planters-thanks for the chance at the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteTina-also visited Angela site-really love the aprons-especially the Peony-thanks again!!
ReplyDeleteTina, it is almost impossible for me to say just one thing I love in your store but for now will say the larger showstopping silver planter, I hope to order a pair for my dining room. In Angelas, love the kidskin gloves, knee bads and great apron that could double as a kitchen apron. I am not much of a gardener but do love to play around and plant things, praying something will stay alive, haha.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity for this great giveaway.
I would love your stunning tray with heavy detailing for my bathroom. Also, I would enjoy the English vine apron to throw on for a quick garden project. Thanks, Jane
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway. From your shop I'd love one of those large doughboards. I can't picture myself actually making dough on them but one would look wonderful hanging on the wall at the ready. Jo @ Let's Face the Music
ReplyDeleteI find one can never have too many pairs of gardening gloves so I would choose that from Angela's. I love the color of the hat and gloves you're showing. Wonderful giveaway! Jo @ Let's Face the Music
ReplyDeleteI would need full time staff, and lots of it, to have gardens so beautifully manicured! They images are stunning!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this very generous giveaway! I can think of so many ways to use that gorgeous urn!
I took a little trip to your shop and everything is so lovely!!! I am in the market for some lighting and the floral etched lantern is fabulous!!!!
Thanks again!
I too adore gardening which I find very therapeutic. With respect to your store, I'd love one of the dough bowls.
ReplyDeleteFrom Angela's, I'd select the gloves s I seem to burn through these at rapid speed working in the garden.
ReplyDeleteI love your shell and floral urn. I just planted a garden in memory of my dad who passed away in April. The urn would look lovely in the garden since I live by the ocean and the urn has beautiful shells on it. I chose flowers for the garden in my dad's favorite colors. I also put a bird bath in the garden as he loved birds especially the red cardinal. It is a peaceful garden where I can sit and remember him.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway. I love all your planters on your website. And the crystal filled candles.
ReplyDeleteAngelas store is great- I love the gardening totes!
ReplyDeleteI love gardening. Thank you for the opportunity to win such great giveaways! I love the Garland and Flower Planter from your store and I love the Heavy Duty Gloves from Angelas store.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
