Which would you choose? And a guest post!

Happy Monday to you! Notice a new banner? Told you this would be my new obsession, so don't be surprised to see it change from time to time. These are all my own house so it has special meaning:)

I am sooo honored to be featured on one of my absolute most favorite blogs in all of blogland, I am being featured today at Splendid Sass. Lovely Teresa chose to feature me, my home and shop and I am so touched and thrilled. And let me tell you, its like a book...she did an unbelievable job posting pictures of the house that even I forgot about and was so happy to see! I mean we are talking about Teresa, who posts THE most beautiful images to be found in the entire blogosphere....always something totally jaw droppingly gorgeous to see over there! I am naturally tickled pink to "make the cut" and be featured! So do head over...promise you will be glad you did. Click here to visit!

A new week, and summer is here....woo hoo! I feel like its going to go by so fast already, I am ready to christen the new season with a much anticipated lobster dinner, a beach day and a nice cool tropical mixed drink! Whenever summer rolls around, I cannot help but think about how much I want a beachhouse. It happens every year....sure enough.
But then again when I visit NYC, it makes me long for our old apt. and yet again when I go to a lake, naturally I am craving a charming laid back lake house. And lets not forget about my dreams of becoming a modern day farmgal complete with my own charming farmhouse, a big thriving garden and only the sound of crickets. So all this desire brings me to my post today. Lets just imagine you and your significant other, your family or just you! has decided to buy a second home....a vacation reprise. Where oh where would you go? The beach, a lake, a bustling city pied a terre, so many possibilities but you can only choose one! So think hard, and let me hear which would be your choice!! I cannot wait to hear!

CHOICE 1 This charming and cozy beach house

CHOICE 2 This picturesque tranquil lake house right on the water

CHOICE 3 This fabulous and chic  apartment high in the sky in your favorite city

CHOICE 4 This idyllic farmhouse on a large plot of land with not a neighbor in site

CHOICE 5. Or who needs the maintenance? Give me a lifetime of airline tickets and my passport to be free to discover new places on a whim........

I am so torn between each of them.....truly there is something to love and lust after with each lifestyle including the luxury and freedom of traveling whenever and to wherever you want but then again, those airport lines, the chaos, removing your shoes, no water bottles, on second thought an actual physical vacation house that's all mine sounds really good afterall. But which to choose? I cannot wait to hear what you have to say! Wishing you a fabulous day.

  2. Oooh, you're not playing fair today (smile). I want 'em all except the passport option. I like to travel, but I also have to had a place to call home.

The one at the lake looks just like the lake houses on Lake Burton not far from us in Clayton, Georgia.

  3. Eek....such a tough choice...I think #3- would love a fabulous apartment in my favourite city- let's go with Paris:)

  4. First LOVE the header, your home is so beautiful, why not share it:-) As far as these incredible choices, have to go with 1. We defintiely hope to buy a small beach pleace in the next 5 years and love the charm and not overly formal feeling of this one. The kind where barefeet will feel very at home. But wouldn't turn any down! Choice 1 it is.

  5. Choice #1 for sure!! It looks so relaxing and wonderful!

  6. Hi Tina! Oh, I'm definitely craving a lakehouse. Texas coastline is not exactly top rated and there are always hurricanes! Give me a lakehouse like that one an hour away from home and I'd be there every weekend.

Will check you out at Teresa's. She's such a lovely blogger.

  7. Love the new banner! I am torn between house #2 and #4!

  8. I LOVE the banner!! It should be all things reflecting your enchanted home, and now that it is built it is perfect to have it this way! Ok, hands down give me the Lake house. I miss ours...and there was nothing more restful than being at the lake...

  9. Add me to the list of lovers of the new header! Ooh, I really need the Beach House, badly, badly, badly but my wanderlust will always win out. Sigh--it is stronger than I am! So #5 it is.

  10. LOVE your new banner Tina, totally chic and totally you!

  12. Hmm...my husband would choose the beach house without hesitation, but I'm torn between the beach house and the lake house. I grew up spending summers at a lake, and I love the mountains!

  13. Please keep that new header, it is perfect and so beautiful and the fact that those are all your home makes it even more special.
I could be happy to have ANY second home but given the choice, the idea of a remote but beautiful farmhouse floats my boat, so choice 4. I love the idea of it being in Vermont on a huge parcel of land, and as you said no neighbors in site, maybe a small lake to take a canoe out on? Sounds like bliss to me. A second choice would be 5, getting to travel and discover new places every year but I do like the idea most of having a second home to hang your hat. Nice post Tina!

  14. the house on the lake is perfect for my dream vacation!!

  15. Oh truly, I could be happy in any of them ... but if I had my choice, and an unlimited budget! I'd take the beach cottage ... I can only imagine waking up and having my iced tea every morning sitting on that little deck!!

  17. Tina,
I'm a cottage gal, I'll take #1, thank you. But the main house would have to be #2. So many pretty rooms.
    Have a wonderful week.

  18. I was just discussing the advantages of city living, so this week I think I would choose a little pied a terre in Boston. Close enough to take advantage of at a whim. I don't think I could leave my ocean town!

  19. Your new header is gorgeous - just like your new home! I choose #1 - I can totally see myself there with not a care in the world. Missi

  20. I did the two house deal for too many years and decided on one two years ago. I am too old to do that again, besides I live ten minutes from the beach. So I would have to go for #5 or an apartment in Florence. The banner looks great; now I am off the check out Teresa's blog.

  21. Since I have a beach house, I will be happy with the city apartment.....although the lake house is lovely with its two-boat garage! Actually, can I just have your house with all of the blue porcelain and silver. Ahhhh...to die for!

  22. Hi Tina, boy I don't stop by for a few weeks and I miss a lot! I look forward to going through your old posts to catch up.
Well, we owned a wonderful beach house on the Maryland shore for years, and when my youngest started playing sports, in high school, we found we were hardly using it, as we spent our summers on the road for her matches. So we sold it 2 years ago and it was a bittersweet decision as we had so many wonderful memories there but we realized we were at a different phase in our life now.
So we didnt' look back and now enjoy taking 3-4 big trips every year, always to Europe in the summer and for this reason I am going with 5. I think second homes if you can afford them are wonderful when a family is young and growing but once the kids are gone, at least for us, they lost their purpose. Now we get pampered in beautiful hotels all over the world and don't have to worry about maintaining them! BTW your new pictures for your title are exquisite, first thing I noticed.

  23. I love your new header, it's beautiful!!! Definitely ChoIce # 4. Greeting from Venezuela.

  24. As usual, they are all too beautiful to choose but if I had to I would go with the beach or the country...I think...

  25. Such a tough choice! I grew up spending summers in a cabin my dad built on a lake - but it was on an island and we were in walking distance of the beach so it was the best of both worlds. I think today I would have to choose the beach house - would love to hear the crashing of the waves, such a peaceful sound. But jetting off to a faraway place sounds lovely, too! Hope your week is off to a good start - I'm popping over to Teresa's now! XO

  26. I love the beach, but in this case I choose the Lake house. Simply because the decor is more my style.
I love your new banner, because it's ALL YOU.
    Great photos.

  30. Farm house please, nothing in the world could be more relaxing and tranquil then getting away to the quiet of the country, oh my goodness, just thinking about it makes me more relaxed, and that "farmhouse" is perfect, lots of charm and old world appeal but with all the modern amenities we all need and desire! Love it.
Love your new banner too.....an absolutely perfect reflection of your wonderful and elegant style.

  31. What a choice! Since we used to own a very small cabin by the lake, I must say some of best memories are from there, so I am going with #2 but I would want a bigger house so we could invite lots of friends and family over. What a beautiful lake house above, all of them are beautiful though.
Adore the new header Tina, its perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hands down it's Number #1, I love everything about it. There is a relaxed sense about the house and it's not just not a function of its location, the decor very much adds to it. Light, airy, pretty everything I want in a cottage.

I'm in for a beach day and lobster! Have a splendid week,

  33. I am a lake girl, so the lake house would be my choice! We have a small cabin we go to every weekend. We love it there!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Second home? It would be a New York apartment for me!!! But given the fabulous list above, it has to be #1, the beach.
    Have a great day!

  42. Tina- congrats on your gorgeous new shop! I first read about it on Teresa's blog and just got finished browsing through all of the lovely products! Every single piece is stunning! xo

  45. Wow! What a choice!? Bottom Line..#5. When I saw #1, I thought...no matter where I live or travel, like a moth to the flame...me to the beach, cottage perfection. Then I thought, huh, I love #2, then no, I love #3 even more...but with #5, I could have it all...the world at my fingertips. I remember one trip...traveling for over 6 weeks and having THE most wonderful time and I did NOT want to return home. I'd love to do that again. Thanks for the memories and fodder for thoughts of today!

  48. The Beach cottage, no question. The water and view is so tranquil. It helps that the cottage is adorable!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Definitely the beach house!!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Tina,
I absolutely love the new header and it is made all the more special b/c it is all YOU and YOUR HOME! Amazing!!!

I had to smile at the mention of tropical drinks...for years I was never tempted, but living along the Sound (what is it about that?!) and hanging out at the beach club, I find myself ordering Planter's Punch or Southsides!! :)

I am first and foremost a beach girl, but I have to say, that particular lake house has me changing my tune. I don't really care to be in lake water, but I'm happy as a clam to motor around on top of it. So, in this case....that's what I'd choose!

Love that you're featured on Teresa's beautiful blog today. Off to see!

Well all of these are awsome choices but for me its first 5. let me travel and I am happy and love that its less obligation! but the second choice might be that beautiful farm house, choice 4 which is so pretty and it looks so relaxing. I do like the idea of escaping to a second home for the weekend. Going to viist your other guest post now.

  55. Too many great choices, I would be happy in any but forced to choose just one, its going to be 1, the beach house. Its so charming, cozy not too big, love the sunlight and all the great refreshing color. What a wonderful weekend getaway!

    Love the new banner!

  60. Thats a tough call, I have a farm house that looks similar to the one you posted. I go to NYC every chance I can get, and our vacation is Lake Placid. I love The Lake and , mountains, with pine in the air and fire burning at night even in the summer. THe water is crystal clear and no waves to worry about. Although, I do appreciate a great beach house!
So Love your home!! Teresa really posted some beautiful photos and you have done an amazing job decorating!!

  62. hi tina, love the new header!

what a tough choice you offer, but i learned the hard way, well almost, not to be tied down. we once were within a hairs breath of buying a second home in france. we thought long and hard and last minute pulled the plug realizing we would be cutting our wings and would feel compelled to always go to france (not a punishment!) versus seeing other parts of the world.
choice 1 could be tempting however......no, free tickets wins!

  63. I can't decide - they are all to fabulous and tempting, but as I'm about to give birth again, I'm guessing the free plane tickets aren't much use, so it would have to be 2 or 3. I wouldn't turn down any though.

    ReplyDelete
  64. They are all amazing! I would probably choose the beach house myself, it is so charming and I love the beach! Win win

  65. Can I have choice #2 oceanfront? Love the interior images!! The new look is stunning and visited you over at Teresa's blog...it was all wonderful!!

I live by the Oslofjord here in Norway, but I could easily see myself in the beach house, directly at the beach. Second choice has to be the lovely farm house.

  71. Teresa did such an amazing job featuring your home and shop. I am still waiting for your home to become a coffee table book. I will be the first to buy it.
