Happy Valentines day!! What are you doing on this red hot day? Anything off the charts special or something simple? I don't personally get overly excited about Valentines day, I mean when I was dating or when I first got married, yes, it carried more weight but now its just another opportunity to indulge in a box of chocolates with no guilt. Lets make that less guilt:) And if my husband chooses to serenade me with a trinket or two, then I am even happier. This year my gift is my closet and I cannot imagine a more beautiful gift, so thank you sweetie, it will be the gift that keeps on giving!! We always, every year without fail, go out with one of my best friends and her husband for our annual "Valentines day dinner". Looking forward! Instead of coming up with a red post or a pink post, my take on Valentines day is a "Which would you choose". So lets imagine this.....you and your husband, significant other, or someone you are dating and really like has invited you out to a special dinner. A very special dinner. He/she will not divulge a single detail, other than instructing you to wear something you feel great in, and to wear your best smile. Yes, I can do that. So........where is this 'fantasy dinner' to take place? Well, that's for you to choose. So feast your eyes on these magnificent tables for two and tell me where your dream Valentines day dinner will be!! Happy Valentines Day!
CHOICE 1....in Venice!
CHOICE 2....on African safari
CHOICE 3...direct oceanfront!
CHOICE 5....in a vineyard
CHOICE 6....poolside by candlelight
CHOICE 7.....on the sound at sunset
CHOICE 8.....Greek islands
CHOICE 9...in Paris with a view
CHOICE 10....on a remote beach in Hawaii
CHOICE 10.....in the middle of a country lake
CHOICE 11...under the stars
CHOICE 12....at home in front of a roaring fire
This is a tough one for me, I am totally torn between Venice,Paris and the direct oceanfront....and yet sitting in front of a roaring fire in the comfort of my own home sounds amazing too. Plus you said I could wear anything, does that include pj's!! I wish I could visit each and every one of these! How about you? Where can you see spending your romantic dinner? Tell me why you chose what you chose. Any special plans or exotic locales in your Valentines day future? Do tell! I want to hear all about it!! Wishing you all a wonderful day and a very happy and sweet Valentines!
I'm with you.... Venice, Paris, or direct oceanfront!! So many gorgeous choices. Have a beautiful Valentines Day, Tina! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines Day! I'll take the Paris view! please!!!
ReplyDeleteGosh this is really a tough one!! any one will be marvelous.
ReplyDeleteSince we are in the middle of summer with the most beautifull summer weather, living in a university town surrounded by vineyards...we will do what we do every year..
have a picnic by the river, under old oak trees not far from the vineyard..locally known as "lovers lane" . we can walk there, or cycle, and take along..
sushi and champagne.. this is for real..
even if our student years are long forgotten.

Choice 10, in the middle of a country lake. Cannot imagine a prettier setting than that one, so dreamy!! Have a great V day!
ReplyDeleteRight away, my breath was taken on first glance at #! Venice! Venice, for some unknown reason, has always tugged at my heart! Second choice, #11 under the stars--reminds me of Texas!!!! xo Loved this "which would you choose"!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am an ocean girl but Paris wins hands down every time:)))))))) <3
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day, Tina!
ReplyDeleteWhere ever - as long as filled with love and joy!
Warmest greetings,
karin
You know me I love Italy, but I'm going w/ the blue of the Greek Islands today.
ReplyDeleteWhat a dreamy post! One thing I actually can do tonight is being in front of a roaring fire.. that's wahte we're going to do. If the kids gives a break, that is... :-)
Have a great day, sweetie.

#1 and #9 please! Happy Valentine's Day to everyone.
ReplyDeleteParis, please. As I've read, "Paris is always a good idea"
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day to you and your family.

Paris, direct ocean front, or Greek Islands would be my list of choices!! ;O) All beautiful...however, I must say having your feet in the water in the middle of an African Safari would give me the heebie-jeebies! It kinda looks like a distant crocodile is quickly making it's way over to the table right now! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm a beach girl, but who wants to spend V-day with frizzy, wind-blown hair? So, I'll choose Venice---one of my most favorite places that I've ever visited. In realiy... we'll be at our favorite neighborhood [but, romantic] restaurant-- where "everybody knows our name". :-) After all, it's really about who you're with, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteParis please! The most romantic city for me, but since we are not there today it will be choice 12. Dinner in front of the fire place is my plan for this evening. Nothing fancy, just a nice dinner with candlelight. Jim gave me a heart box of chocolates and card with my coffee this morning. We just keep it simple but I do want to tell you about my sweetest gift. Jim gave me for Valentine's Day a lodge clock I put in the foyer! He had a message inscribed inside "to my valentine" with the date. Every time it chimes I think of my thoughtful husband.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day Tina.

The French Hutch
African Safari...hands down, but I would arrive after a stop off in Paris
ReplyDeleteItaly or dining under the stars! Tres romantique!
ReplyDeletehugshugshugs to you Tina!

African Safari...hands down, but I would arrive after a stop off in Paris
ReplyDeleteClever post, Tina! At home in front of the fire is where we always spend Valentine's Day (my red flannel PJs are ready!) but I'm always looking for a reason to visit Paris (as if there should be a reason) so if Mr. H. decided to make alternate plans, I would be more than happy to celebrate there.
ReplyDeleteI hope yours is lovely! Happy Valentine's Day! XO
Itay or Paris. Beautiful choices.
ReplyDeleteChoice 10 as it is something so different but I can imagine heading to a secluded beach in Hawaii at sunset, with a wonderful dinner all planned out, just hearing the waves crash, light a few candles....sounds so perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the dream, Tina now its off to work and reality. As far as what we do on this day, we go out as a family with our twin girls to a French restaurant near us, that allows our girls to experience "fine dining"..we all get dressed up, as it is formal and its always an anticipated evening for all of us. Enjoy your special outing too, Tina
Paris is so amazing, but so is Maui !!! But there is also something to be said for romantic night at home!!!!
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt, # 1 Venice! I'm saving #2 for my husband's dream birthday trip to Africa's Rift Valley.
ReplyDeleteI'll skip right to dessert...tonight I make warm molten chocolate cakes with whipped ceam and passionfruit caramel sauce. I know!
p.s. Tina, did you see the cool Kate Spade Cha Cha Chocolate Clutch giveaway on the Bakerella.com blog? Sometimes a girl just wants to wear her chocolate - ha!
Ummm can I say ALL of them?! My first reaction was to say Venice, because I ADORE Venice. But then I saw the African safari, which is my lifelong dream. But then in the middle of a country lake is SO me. How do I choose?!?! Ummmmmm.....OK I'll just say Paris :)
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines Day! Venice for me... such a city for love.
I've just added them all to my "Valentine" Bucket List :)
ReplyDeleteI would have to choose number 5... We love going to the beach. Happy Valentines Day!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteBoy, you sure made this hard! I would have to say Paris or fireside at our house, although the African Safari had me interested!
Happy Valentine's Day and have fun tonight!!!
xo,
~R

Tina,
ReplyDeleteHello and happy Valentines Day! I am with you Paris, Venice and home in front of a roaring fire are my three picks. Venice is such a beautiful and magical place, with the winding streets, the Rialto Bridge, the gondolas. PAris, the same, the sights on every street, the romance the CHOCOLATE!
But being home I think is my favorite place to be with my husband and family.
I hope you have a wonderful night out with your husband and friends. My husband is out of town, so I will be spending the evening at a violin and cello concert with my mother. It is going to be fabulous.
Have a great day! Elizabeth
Well....while I would LOVE to be on that remote Hawaiian beach, and under the stars looks amazing, and oh I would for sure like to try the floating lake dinner..... but if it's to be romantic and I'm wearing a smile.... gotta go with the view from my own house and pick the fireplace at home.
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
I would choose #11 "under the stars"; an amazing romantic dinner just for two at a luxurious "Glamping" destination. What is "Glamping" you ask? Glamorous camping with all the luxuries of a four star resort. If you are interested in seeing some examples of Glamping locations, check out my pinterest board...High Heels + Camping = Galmping. I love your blog and and hope you have a wonderful dinner with friends! Cheers! Lori

They're all beautiful locations, but I'd have to choose the unrivaled romance of Paris! Have a Happy Valentines Day, Tina!
ReplyDelete~ Wendi ~
Oh my! You have made this a pretty tough choice, but the idea of being in Venice for Valentine's Day...and in that exact setting, has to be my choice!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the loves of your life today!,
Barbara
Oh this is easy for me, it would be at the beach at sunset and the beach is in Carmel California. They actually have a company there that will set up a blanket and goodies, fire and a heart in the sand made of rose petals. I had that done for my BFF on Her and her hubby's anniversary. It was a really fun surprise. Give me my sweetie and the Carmel Beach and I am in heaven any day, any time, happy Vday to you and yours, Tina,
ReplyDelete♥Kathysue♥
First choice, of course, is Paris! It's the city of love, and then just look at that view! Second choice would be the Greek islands.
ReplyDelete5 or 1, 1 or 5, #5! Love the idea of being in an orchard!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day, Tina!
Teresa

#1 is spectacular. What a feast for the eyes!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day Tina.
♥ tejae
Venice it is. That was easy. I have always wanted to go. I have been to Italy, and I fell in love as the plane was flying in over those gorgeous red tiled roofs. Venice is on my bucket list for sure.
ReplyDeleteChoice 4 must have been really good - it is no longer available!
ReplyDeleteIt was a tough decision until you threw Hawaii up there. Nothing else compares.
Happy Valentines Day
Venice, please. Enjoy your day, wherever you spend it.
ReplyDeleteXO Victoria
Venice. I have been to Paris (would love to go again though) but Venice it is for me:)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Valentine's Day. Enjoy your friends and your husband tonight.
♥

l didn't even have to consider long and hard for this one. Venice for me, it is heart stopping in its beauty..
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's day !
I been to most of the countries mention, therefore, I would choose, or can I choose 2? Safari & Hawaii are the countries I never been to.
ReplyDeleteTY for bringing me and my thoughts to my dreams places.
Happy VD to you and your lovelies.
Greetings from freezing Stockholm,
/chie
P.S.
You might guess, why I love the exotic places, §;-)
That gorgeous picture of Venice had me right away!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures !
ReplyDeleteFor my taste, 5 or 11
Happy Valentine Day !
Hmmmmm.....I would take any one of these and it makes me realize that ANY setting can be made to be romantic. But, since the skies the limit, I'll go with Venice. I've been thinking about Italy a lot lately!! :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun tonight!!!!
xoxo Elizabeth
You know I think Venice would be so romantic, Why is Valentine's Day in February???? So I probably would be the most comfortable at home and spend the evening planning a romantic vacation.
ReplyDeleteYou always make these so hard! But I am giong to go with the African table setting, we were there 4 years ago and it was the trip of a lifetime. It is just so spectacular, would love to go back. Happy V day, Tina
ReplyDeleteEven though I live at the beach, I have to say #3 because I miss summer so much! Thank you so, so much for your beautiful email the other day - i have't had a chance to respond, but I hope you know how much it meant to me.
ReplyDeletexoxox Stacy
I think it would have to be the Greek Isles, followed by Paris and then Venice~I think all three are wonderful ways to spend the MOST romantic evening!! have a nice dinner tonight, that sounds like a fun tradition.
ReplyDeleteI would be so excited to be at any one of those tables but if I had to choose one, it would be Paris, to me the most romantic city on earth! Happy Valentines day, Tina.
ReplyDeleteParis & Venice without a doubt!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Tina...torn between Venice or Paris. Lovely images as always...I'm sure a spot in front of your roaring fireplace on a cold NY winter night in your beautiful new home would be right up there too!
ReplyDeleteclever take on this day tina! and, since you asked, that first image of venice took my breath away.
ReplyDeletenow, let's see what hubby hs in mind!
debra
Such a fun post :) Without a second thought- Venice! ... but fireside with my guy- anywhere, will always make me happy!
ReplyDeleteA quiet house, a warm bath, a roaring fire...doesn't take much to make this girl happy...but that table for two in Paris is definitley talking to me.
ReplyDeleteHope you're enjoying your evening...and your closet!
xo Lisa
Paris, Venice or in front of the roaring fire ... all look equally good to me :)
ReplyDeleteWe stayed at home actually, no roaring fire :(
but it was still good ;)
Oh dear! Why am I stuck with such a dilemma? I'm torn between Paris and Venice but I'd love to do each one of these. Enjoy the fabulous day, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteChoices...oh my. they are all wonderful and I wouldn't mind any of them. It's good to dream. Thanks for sharing such lovely places.
ReplyDeleteLovely images, I think I would go for African Safari and all that entails! I hope you had a Happy Valentine's day Tina.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the lake. I grew up on a little lake and we never did anything like that. I think it would have a been a fun idea even for a family.
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt it has to be Venice, its always been a dream of mine.
ReplyDeleteChoice 10
