I am like a kid in a candy store with fabrics!
Palette for master, carpet is ivory strange colors here (still trying to figure out my Nikon and way too impatient to read the manual like normal people, sorry!
The big pieces is wallpaper, the front is carpet, the left is a velvet stripe (thinking for bench) and right could be pretty on a pair of chairs, still in the "playing stage" but fabric and carpet I love
Hallway uncovered, isn't the Windex bottle a nice touch? You know me, its either Charmin, Nyquil or Windex....I really should be getting something out of that, lol.
This is looking from once you walk in front door
Topiaries are not staying, just there hanging out till they find a home elsewhere
This is the type of window treatment I was referring to for my bathroom.....
I really like this hutch in a painted blue/gray finish with the matching desk for my small home office...thoughts? (Safavieh)
So heres the lanterns I told you about, first he hung them way too high, in a few pics you will see them at their proper height.....
Etching looks familiar, eh?
Another fabric I am really liking.....will show you stools in a bit
Lowered......much better
Meet my newest friends, "the twins"......need to find just the right spot
They even look good next to the fabric in the background
Please take note of fabric and imagine on upholstsered stools......
Found a spot for my other pair of antique blue and whites
The twins still there, waiting patiently for their turn!
See what you think about the fabric........
imagine that fabric on these stools (this is one of three stools I am considering) I would change the wood base to a dark dark wood or black to match island. It was funny because Bonnie Neiman sent these as an idea and I already had them in my file as one of three possible stools .as I told her, great minds think alike! Thoughts? Is it a like? A love?
And to show my devotion to all things blue and white, check out the new iPhone cover I am ordering from Pink Pagoda......(Jennifer from Belclaire house featured it)
Think I am going with this one...though they are both quite pretty!!
Click here if you want one too!
So that's it for today, still doing lots of unpacking, and less organizing than I should, but am managing to do a little every day. I apologize for pictures that felt repetitive, frankly it has more to do with my stubborness in getting the right lighting with my camera and settings, and some are accurate while others are not, hence the repetition! I am wiped and am going to take a long coffee break and visit some of my favorite blogs now....important to pace yourself! Hope you are having a fantastic day.....until we meet again!
Everything is looking so great! I LOVE those bar stools and that fabric would be perfect on them... a beautiful combination!
ReplyDeleteOh Tina, every time I see something about house updates, my heart races. I know I am for serious sensation overload. How can it be prettier than last week? But it is! Oh your kitchen...I die (borrowing a word from Rachel Zoe)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the stools, the fabric, well everything. Those lanterns are amazingly beautiful. Where on earth did you get them? The etching looks incredible. I would keep those, don't know what else you had in mind but those look perfect. That hallway too, wow! What a shot, I can see a wedding happening in this house, any daughters that can sashay down that goregous staircase?
Thanks for sharing, I love seeing the updates and also love all your new blue and whites. Take your time and pace yourself, moving in is so much work. It took me a full year to really feel fully settled in our new home, half the size I am sure but still a large home. Best of luck, Tina.
i cannot begin to tell you how mush i adore your choice of lanterns.
ReplyDeletethey will never have to be replaced.
there is nothing trendy about them.
go go go BLUE & WHITE!!!
xx
Tina,
ReplyDeleteI love every inch of your home, sweetie. The lanterns are stunning. They have a classic look that I adore. I'm bookmarking this post for future references!

boy have you been on the radar lately, seems I am seeing your house everywhere I visit and deservedely so! love the fabric and the chairs, love that desk so much I want it and I really, really love those topiaries....have you mentioned where you got those? I am keeping that photo on my phone for the next time I stumble into a store that does arrangements!
ReplyDeleteI can't begin to tell you how much love looking at your home.
ReplyDeleteTha lanterns are stunning. I love the cake dish too.
I am loving the blue & white fabric! And those bar stools also!! Do you mind me asking where the fabric comes from! Your home is incredible - and I look forward to your updates.
ReplyDeleteTina! I just love your fabric choice and perfect placement of your blue and whites. The dark woods, the white cabinets, the marble .. So classic! The lanterns in the kitchen look stunning and I like your bar stool style!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the stools....you've got a winner especially with the fabric. The kitchen and island are so large you need a grander chair on the stool and I think the one you pictured is perfect!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe the lanterns were in storage and forgotten. They are really beautiful and look perfect in a pair over the island. Well done!
the laturns over the island are perfect! your home is lovely!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteLove the kitchen lanterns and the blue and white fabric you have in the running for the upholstered stools.
Things seem to progressing right along. Your home is beautiful and I'm sure you're enjoying it...if only the darn workers would finish. :-)
Karen
I remember really well having lots of people all over and how it made me scream (inside and to myself) I had no privacy then throw 3 kids under 10, 2 dogs and a husband who is like a fourth kid into the mix! We got through it and I will never forget the first day where there was no one there, it was heaven. You will get there soon, I promise.
ReplyDeleteNow onto the good stuff, the lanterns are PERFECT as the stools. Your blue and white fabric is a winner, I wouldn't look any more, cannot imagine you doing any better. Your house is a dream, but I am sure you know that. We are really lucky to have a very beautiful home, approx. 8000 sq feet. (husbands a builder) in Atlanta, but your home is the ultimate in every way. I LOVE YOUR TASTE, write a book Tina I bet it will be a bestseller.
Thanks for such a mouth watering post!
I love the fabric!! Your house is gorgeous!

I can't believe I just noticed the his and hers kitchen sinks. Or his and his? Or theirs? Anyone but hers really. And the lanterns look pretty nice for a whim.
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
I think I might be considered a stalker by the way I just LOVE looking at your home and the progression of the new design. I am so excited for you - this is the fun part (even though there are quite a few hiccups to remedy in the completion) You are amazing... and the iPhone cover is PERFECT! The stool is a comfy one and that is exactly what you will need for all the extra time spent in that beautiful kitchen! Everyone will want to move in. Thanks for sharing and have a terrific Thursday.
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to see you getting settled in.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know what you mean about not getting personal space - it's so important to have it, but sometimes it's just not in the cards.
I love those light fixtures over the island/eating area in your kitchen. Very cool!
xo, Adrienne
WEll tina, looks like things are coming along. So so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love the bar stool, and i am with you on the colors an dI love the fabric you have chosen. Love your collection of blue and white porcelain. The William Yeoward cake plate is beautiful, and the lanterns do match perfectly. Wow.
I know that you will love it when it is all settled, but if it is like the houses I have built, they will be there until at least a year has passed. They just need to learn to work around you, not you around them.
Have a nice evening.
Teresa
xoxo
I just love all your blue and white! It inspires me and has made me re-evalute some of my stuff I thought I was tired of.
ReplyDeleteYou must just lay awake at night waiting for the day to get here so you can start all over again!
I love that fabric and have been looking at a few B&F fabrics, including the Les Alizes fabrics. I must have had about 100 blue and white fabric samples here in the past few weeks, trying to liven up my collection of cushions and pick something for drapes. There are so many shades of blue and so many choices, it's impossible. Love this fabric though, it's divine.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful home. I adore the fabric for the kitchen stools. It's going to look fabulous with the white marble countertops. The splash of color and pattern are going to be great in the kitchen. Jennifer
ReplyDeleteOh it must be so wonderful to finally be in your house!
ReplyDeleteKitchen stools and fabric are a keeper!
ReplyDeleteLight fixtures over kitchen island look beautiful!
Love your new pals, The Twins, they are fabulous! The fabric for the kitchen stools is perfect, I *can* imagine it on them, very easily. As far as the Windex bottle goes, it detracts not one iota, it looks beuatiful, simply stunning. What amazing progress when you think about it, while it may not feel that way to you, it really is divine to see how it has come together.
ReplyDeleteSending you a smile Tina!

Gorgeous lanterns Tina, I love seeing them lit! Every time I see your kitchen I fall in love I could live in there especially if you choose those stools!

Oops, my bad, major brain fade on the identity for the previous comment, I meant to do my Preppy Princess ID, apologies for any confusion. Arggh!
ReplyDeleteI think the lanterns add a touch of elegance to the kitchen. They are so beautiful. That fabric on those stools would be wonderful. I would not try to match the black on the island. I think the legs of the stools would get lost. Instead, I would try to pick a wood color from maybe the family room that would bring in that room to the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteYour blue & white collection is fabulous. Where do you get them? I never have seen any thing like them. They are very unique.
Your home always delights me. You are one gifted woman!! I love all that you have accomplished in such a short time.
Love the "twins", Love the lanterns, Love the stool (though we haven't seen the other two you are considering), Love the blue and white fabric! A suggestion about fabric- a blue on white Ikat pattern would be fabulous with your dark wood- though I do love the pattern you showed us. This is so much fun! Can't wait to see what you decide as I know it will be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI am in the midst of a remodel and have been looking for some lighting for over the island. Last weekend I found two lanterns that look very similar to the ones you have, but just couldn't make up my mind about them. After seeing how pretty they look in your space I am convinced they will be perfect for my kitchen too. Thank you for your beautiful blog and for inspiring my creative side to blossom.
ReplyDelete"everythings getting on my nerves day". Tell it like it is Sister:)!
ReplyDeleteIn love with carpet & velvet stripe. fabric maybe on stools, funking it up on DL, love......with out going all hippie, yay!
Ive never seen such a beautifully lit kitchen, OHHHHHHH the recessed hidden lighting, praise be. Really lets the lanterns shine.
I have rehang every thing, go too high. Kiss of death ugh. NOW I get all "smart" hang too low.....then rehang, figures:) so much fun, if not a PAIN! ha
I love your bell jar lanterns. They look beautiful in the kitchen, but if you switch them out, they could always work in the hall or your dressing room. Love the upholstered stool (the legs are not clunky like most barstools, but elegant and graceful. The fabric perfectly complements your blue and white porcelain collection. Winners all.
ReplyDeleteXOXO Victoria
LOVE THE STOOLS, LOVE THE FABRIC, LOVE THE BLUE JARS ON THE SHELVES! Everything is so perfect
ReplyDeleteStacy
Tina, I'm just dying over your house. I was so happy to sit down and read your blog with a glass of wine after a looong day with my mother-in-law (who loves to give me advice on how to keep my house clean - she means well & says it nicely at least?). I feel like I haven't had a chance to really enjoy my blog reading for awhile because I've been so busy! Anyway, I LOVE all of your updates. LOVE IT! I played with fabric all day today too! I'll show you in my blog post tomorrow. I love all of your blue and white. Is that Digby's Tent I see? Obviously, I'm in love with that fabric. It's so funny because I think I'm going to use a Charlotte Moss for Calico Corners on my bed shams. Someday when I'm a grown up I'd love to use Charlotte Moss for Brunschwig & Fils all over my house, but her Calico Corners line will do the trick for a bit. I'll just live vicariously through you for now :) I think I need some of those "twins" for my house as well. Really, I just need your house for my house :) Ok I'm going to go enjoy my wine and read over some of your old blog posts again. Hope you get a chance to have some peace and quiet soon :)
ReplyDeleteOh P.S. thanks for the shout out! I love my iphone cover. My only complaint is that it blends in with my house so sometimes I have trouble finding it ;) But really it's so fun and makes me so happy every time I look at it.
ReplyDeleteHey Tina! I wouldn't be able to organize just for staring at the photo of the kitchen stools, the "twins" and the blue & white kitchen fabric. Win!
ReplyDeleteKeri
I vote Yes on the stools. I love them. The 'twins' and the fabric are gorgeous!
ReplyDeletexo, Lissy Parker
Tina, I have a sample of that fabric and I love it. It could be very interesting on your bar stools. You might have to be careful of fabric placement. The pattern is in such away that you will need to think exactly where you want the pattern to go and how. I am loving all the jars!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I am over the moon for those "found" lanterns! Absolute perfection! How will you bear to take them DOWN when your back order finally arrives? That blue & white fabric is delicious as are the bar stools you show! And I WANT a pair of "twins" for my very own!!!! Can they be sourced??? Beautiful, Tina! Thank you for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteJudging by all your comments, I don't think you can make a bad decision! Isn't that one of the best feelings? Can't wait to see the stools covered and in place! Everything in, and of, your home is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteI would never ever leave that kitchen...it looks absolutely fantastic. Love the lanterns...might the other ones on backorder find a new home in the house? Love the blue/white porcelian...gorgeous! Your foyer, oh my goodness, love! xoxo
Everything looks so amazing Tina! But you need a beautiful little cake decorated with sugar flowers to go on that gorgeous glass cake stand! xo
ReplyDeleteWow! Every time I look at a post of part of your home I am blown away. Your entryway is AMAZING. I think you're right to lower the kitchen fixtures. I am a blue girl so I love your fabric selections. I think I'd go with the more primary color blues for the kitchen rather than the softer hues.
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
ohhhh Fun!! Your kitchen looks fantastic! I could live in that one room! I love all of the natural light that comes in through those windows. I also love the fabric and think they would look great there
ReplyDeleteThe bell jar lanterns are perfect! I also like the wallpaper, stripe fabric, and carpet choices for the bedroom. I like bar stools with backs (for comfort) and particularly like the ones you've chosen.
ReplyDeleteIt's already home, Tina. Love the gorgeous lanterns and the ideas for the master bedroom...perfection. Adore the rug and all the colors - warm and relaxing - just right for your room!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the hutch you're considering. The kitchen is looking fabulous--and WOW, what a hallway!
ReplyDeleteHello Tina,
ReplyDeleteThere are too many things to comment on and I probably will not remember them all, but I love the hutch, the "Twins" are fabulous and I am looking forward to seeing their new home. And I LOVE the fabric and the stools, thery look so comfortable.
I hope you enjoyed your nice long coffee break and did find a space that there were no workmen to bother you.
Have a great weekend, Elizabeth
Going to dream about your kitchen tonight and for the next week at least.
ReplyDeleteHow I would love to make cookies in your kitchen! I love the drop front desk with the hutch. The more cubbies the better. Love the lemon topiary too. The blue fabric and the cell phone cover is so you! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's all wonderful! Welcome to the twins! They'll be beutiful just about anywhere! And the lights in the kitchen look as though you had it planned in advance! You're making progress!
ReplyDeleteAhh I love seeing the sweatshirt over the banister and the laptop on the counter. Those are the things that make your house your home! Those cell phone cases are to die for. Going to check them out. Have a fabulous and restful weekend!

ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful house. I really like the fabric for the kitchen stools. It looks awesome with the white marble counter-tops. The splash of color and pattern are going to be great in the kitchen. Best Regards, Local Real Estate Agent in Orlando
ReplyDeleteMy Lord, what a house this is!
ReplyDeleteEverytime I look at your posts, I find myself saying, "that's beautiful, I wonder where she got it"? So on this lovely post, I am wondering the source of your barstools. I love the way they hug your back and the tacks are the quintessential addition! I look forward to your updates. You're my absolutely favorite blogger. What a beautiful home you are creating! Love, love, love!

I laughed because I know the feeling of not having your own space in your own home, its a horrible feeling. Hopefully the weekend will be more peaceful. The house is looking incredible, think I have run out of accolades! Your kitchen is my absolute dream kitchen in every way, the ceilings look so tall, how tall are they?

Thanks for the sharing and love the windex bottle. Thanks for sharing, hope the workers depart soon.
ReplyDeleteTina, your kitchen is just amazing. Love the lanterns. I too am like a kid in a candy store when it comes to fabrics/patterns. I love your selection! Funny, I have a new Nikon too and like you have been way too impatient to read the directions. I figure if I just keep shooting away I'll figure it out! xo

Just beautiful!! I love the pendants you have in your kitchen. I put some in last year and they are just plain wrong! Wrong size, wrong color, wrong shape. I think I need something more like the ones you picked out. Your taste is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI think those iphone cases were made for you Tina! Your pendants in your kitchen are gorgeous! Going to a flea market on Sunday in search of blue & white. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteannie
It's "love" on the stools. I can see it, and it looks fab.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize just how much I loved blue and white.
I wish I could get such an iphone case for my iphone but mine is the last generation so I will have to wait until I get a newer version. The blue-and-white will be pretty and will tie in those on display in the cabinets. Is the kitchen being cooked in yet? Looks magnificent!
ReplyDeleteHi Tina, where do I begin! LOVE the lanterns, the beautiful blue and white fabric, love it all. It is all coming together magnificently! You must be in heaven cooking in that kitchen. Need a helper? I am available and hardly make a sound.
ReplyDeleteThe whole house is really incredible, the floors, that beautiful formal entryway, all so so pretty. And those stools are great, would you mind sharing the source for the lanterns and stools? Would love to know.
Hope you get a relaxing weekend, sounds like you need a break from all the people working there. I had painters here last week and just that made me want to crawl out of my skin so cannot imagine dealing with a house full. You are almost there, though and its just magnficent.
wow tina, this is a fantastic post. I'd be totally depressed if you only chose 1 or 2 of the repeat photos.. I want to see the good, the bad, the dark, the light, all of them! I'm totally and completely in love with your lanterns! I love your fabrics! Your kitchen looks gorgeous! I also love the iPhone covers although of course, I'd be opting for the orange chinoiserie!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the entertainment and inspiration!
jan
Your house is so amazing! That kitchen island and the entry floor are possibly my favorites. I'm sure next time I look it will be something else because it's all so beautiful. I love that I phone cover! Perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh I forgot about the stools, I love the stools!
ReplyDeleteCarpet ~ I've recently seen it installed (somewhere?) and it is gorgeous! Please share the maker and pattern. Although I want it ~ it surely will be much more stunning in your "castle" ~ so very happy for you and I can't imagine that you ever question your choices ~ they are all total perfection. Amazing.....
ReplyDeleteHi Tina,
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics for the stool....and I like the second phone cover, not that it matters! I have a question...a while back you were talking about putting a chandelier in your bathroom. Did you ever find one you liked and if so would you mind showing it to us a some point?
Thanks~
Hi! I love the fabrics in the first picture. I am like a child in a candy store myself, when I deal with fabrics. Thankfully, I get to sell them!
ReplyDeleteThe other thing I like most about your gorgeous house, is the light pendants of your kitchne. Great choice.
Wishing you happiness always :)

ReplyDeleteOh! My! I just found your blog. What an incredible eye! Good thing my computer is so slow so I can take it all in and savor! What is the source of the lovely upholstered stools?? I would love them for my own kitchen
ReplyDeleteJust the selection of the fabrics will be good enough to compensate the not so good moments. That stuff is all happiness and excitement! Isn't it? Love all you choices.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Ohhhh!!! Tina the pendant lights in the kitchen look amazing lady!! I'm gonna have to redo my kitchen post now!!! I love the stools for the kitchen as well as that fabric. The windex bottle is indeed the perfect touch...lol.. Some very stunning pics in the post, Tina.

So let me get this straight...those pendants are standing in???? They look so great...I love them! And all of your blue. Your bedroom is going to be gorgeous...very Phoebe if you know what I mean :)
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe how beautiful your home is. Your taste is just exquisite, assuming you are the one doing it? I haven't read far back enough to know if you are the decorator or there is one involved? It is magnificent, your kitchen gives me palpatations!
ReplyDeleteYour fabric choices are spot on and who makes that great stool? I love it.
Thanks for sharing..this is so much fun!
I realize I am totally late to the game, but I hope you did choose that blue Brunschwig fabric for the stools because it is Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteYour home is so stunning it doesn't seem like real life! I guess, that's why they call it a dream home :)
Love that the windex is still in the shot
ReplyDelete
