Which would you choose?

Good morning lovlies! Hope everyone enjoyed the interview with charming Debbie from Inspired Design yesterday and as a few people noted, isn't it funny how so many of my "interviewees" loved The Notebook (yours truly included)? So in honor of that interesting tidbit,  I plan on watching it again tonight. And yes, I just know it will be officially  as good the 8th time as it was the first! Also did you read my "fall favorites" post over at the wonderful Chic Coastal Living blog yesterday? Click here to see.  And finally, do not be left out of a chance to win the wonderful Safavieh table giveaway...all the juicy details at end of this post!

Its that time again....and this weeks post is coming off the heels of everyone last week having selected their dream kitchen  to do prep work in for that wonderful no stress dinner party you are hosting. Well, fast forward to the evening and you have slaved over all of your tapas delights (a glass of wine as company has made all the prep work quite fun)  and alas the sun is setting, the candles throughout the house are getting lit,the wine is aerating, and you just cranked up the boss nova to set the tone for the elegant and fun evening that lies ahead. Now its time to select that dining room where you will be wining and dining your lucky guests for the night! So you know the drill, feast your eyes on these stunning dining rooms, something for everyone and tell me which would you choose as your dining room for the evening? Can't wait to see which are the top contenders!

    Love this series!!

  3. Tough choices loved them all, but I would have to say that #11 is my fav, spoke timeless elegance and class. Diane

  4. You are right, so hard...but my winner is 5, all the layers, the silver leafed ceiling, painted furniture, upholstered vintage, and rustic table...is this the giveaway? ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  5. Wow! Amazing ones! I have to choose #2. I love beautiful and formal dining room, but to feel cozy I prefer the small and charming ones, just like #2.

    I hope you're having a wonderful day!!!

  6. Hands down this time for me, Choice 8. Love it!! M.

  7. I absolutely love choice 8! I have been leaning very strongly towards large round skirted tables lately! We have started looking for one that will go in our own new dining room!
    So much fun Tina!
    Have a wonderful day!

  8. NO CONTEST FOR ME AT ALL...CHOICE 9 ALL THE WAY, TEH VIEWS, THE LIGHTING IT IS A DREAM!

    ReplyDelete
  9. It's between #11, Fern Santini's work,(love the ambience and that ceiling!) and #15 (love the white table and all the white). What a fun post!

    ReplyDelete
  10. 1, 8 and 9 are my favorites, but the winner is 9! Too much to choose from. They are all beautiful.
    Have a wonderful day, Tina.

  11. Tina, this is really hard. I like 6, 9, 12...oh what the heck, I liked something about each one of them. I loved the view from #12 so I think that is my favorite.

All such beautiful pictures! Have a wonderful day.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Beautiful selection of dining rooms, Tina! My choice is definitely #8 - it's absolute perfection!

    ReplyDelete
  13. oh my, number nine - how can you even compete with that architecture? The decor is almost an afterthought.. this is a great series, Tina - x

    ReplyDelete
  14. I scrolled back and forth for awhile because they are all just stunning! I would love to have a breakfast or brunch in #2 because it has such a beachy, casual feel but my choice to have dinner would be #9! I love the rustic elegance of that dining room, the view is amazing and I love the lantern. I could picture myself staying in that room all day! So yes, #9 it is for me! This was fun!

  15. No. 9 for me exquisite views, relaxed, cosy and imitate what more could you ask for

    ReplyDelete
  16. Finally I can choose just one of your options and be 100% satisfied with my choice. #8 all the way! Loooove.

    ReplyDelete
  17. You make this WAY too hard! I loved the first one because of the antiqued glass which I love as you know and I believe you do too... but I'm going to go with #10 because it's so unique! Probably not for everyone so i assume I'll be in the minority but I'm ok with that. :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well I would pick #8 if I had to choose...but could we add that incredible view from the open air dining room to the window?

    ReplyDelete
  19. So hard to pick one ! #14 is beautiful - obviously I love the outdoors....!

    ReplyDelete
  20. 14, 3, 9, and 16- my large family could make beautiful memories in any of them. Gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Choice 6 please. That is the prettiest dining room I have ever seen, what a cozy room. The fireplace and soft lighting, gorgeous colors make it a room I could happily see spending hours and hours in wining and dining.
    Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  22. This is a fun idea you had Tina, I'd choose either 2 or 10, but actually would have liked something more relaxed! I'll just have to ruffle things up a bit!

    ReplyDelete
  23. #8 has all the right mix - round table, beautiful windows in the background, neutrals with awesome green accents (green is my favorite color). So I will go with #8; however, #9 comes in second because the open doors and view are spectacular!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I LOVE #14! The beautiful, inviting fireplace, the lighting, the wonderful wood, and not to mention, the gorgeous picture window view all make this dining room the one I would definitely choose!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Number 9 is my choice. The simple lines of the room are clean yet warm. The stone against the backdrop of the outdoor scenery brings strength and warmth to the room. It is the perfect mixture of contemporary with a traditional flair. And the views are absolutely superb! It would never grow tiresome to take meals in this room over decades.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Love them all, but would choose #8. You make it difficult to make a choice :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh it was a hard choice but if I had to choose only I, I'd go with #7! :) xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hi Tina!
Of course you know I love #16... plaid and equestrian art... my favorites.
I would love to be a guest in dining room number 3! Traditional and elegant. I like a room that is not too large bc then you lose the cozy intimate feeling that makes entertaining special.
That room with the folding wall of doors was very tempting and I do love the distant trickling of a fountain or water feature off in the distance. Such great pics!

    xx
    Alison

    ReplyDelete
  29. I like 2,3 and 10! I would choose 2 though because I prefer smaller dinner parties so that everyone at the table can converse and laugh instead of being stuck just talking tot he person next to you. And room 2 provides that ambiance, layout. The table is smaller and it looks cozy.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 6 or 8 (if it has a fireplace) Love the warmth of 6, but the neutral, peaceful feeling of 8 with the fabulous windows would do as well!

    ReplyDelete
  31. # 9 or # 11 . Fun post:) I even surprised myself .

    ReplyDelete
  32. Love # 1!!! Isn't the lighting in # 10 wonderful!
    Thanks for another great post!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. wow! choice 13 got me at first sight!

    ReplyDelete
  34. #16 without a doubt. I am a RL~aholic. The King of Design rules in my house! :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Well, I think I would have to choose 9 and 14 for the views alone! But my eye does go to the slip-covered chairs in 10 (we have white slips on our dining room chairs) and then 11 is downright stunning. Clearly I can't pick just one!
    Have a beautiful Tuesday!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I wanted to say choice six but I really do love 14 too! So unusual-modern yet traditional with those gorgeous Chippendale chairs.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Honestly I'm not totally in love with any of them. (They are stunning settings, but I'd change something in every one!) I like 9 (but hate the chairs) and 10 (but hate those plate-things up top). 13 is probably most my style in terms of decor, but lacks the great windows of a of the others.

    ReplyDelete
  38. This post was the hardest one for me so far. I really went back and forth. Like someone else said I LOVE #2 because of it's casual beachy feel, but for a DINNER, I would probably go with number 8. It's a winner.
I love these posts, so much fun.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Choice 3 for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Some of the views are awesome but this time I strictly voted on the room itself. I think number 6 would have to be my favorite because of the outdoor access and the fireplace. Love the drapes too. I had a hard time giving up #3, it is so pretty. I love the simplicity and the ceiling work in #11. Cindy

    ReplyDelete
  41. Love something about each one but I will pick #8 as perfection along with the landscapes of 9 and 14. This is fun

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hands down #1, I am crushing over mirrored walls these days and absolutely LOVE them in dining rooms!

    ReplyDelete
  43. This seems to be a popular post series probably because we get to participate and it's beautiful. Ok for inside dining #8 wins for me, for outside dining it's #9...fun!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Based upon the fun scenario you have laid out for us (love your imagination) I vote for a dead tie between 6 and 9. Both rooms I could see serving beautiful food and wine in and love the lighting and ambiance.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Tina,

Love them all, so to narrow down my favorites: 6,8,9,11,12,14, and 16...lol that's a designer's position, open mind, many possibilities and lots to enjoy about these rooms. With an evening set up like the one above it's all good.

    Bette

    ReplyDelete
  46. Bossa Nova? My first priority is a dance floor! With that many couples we'll need a large space. After narrowing it down to three, I've chosen # 9. I'll have some Stan Getz/Gilberto music playing softly in the background and we'll drift through the large glass doors onto the patio dance floor lit by a full moon. This house could easily be nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees - Perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Well these are all absolutely stunning...I think I would have to say #9...I am so intrigued by what's outside those doors.

    ReplyDelete
  48. CHOICE 16 ALL THE WAY......AMAZING ROOM!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hi Tina,
Nine, nine , nine! That dinning room is fantasic!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hi Tina,
This one was a little easier...Room 9 would be my first choice with 12 and 16 a second and third.
    Karen

    ReplyDelete
  51. So hard to choose. I would pick #9, a view gets me everytime!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. #9...I actually have this dining room torn out of the magazine and placed in my future house file :-)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Definitely #9, love, love, love it!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Number 9! My husband and I both agree.

    ReplyDelete
  55. All so lovely 2, 3, 9 and number 11 had me!! Great photos and inspirations...xo HHL

    ReplyDelete
  56. number 3 definitely!! I love the wallpaper! the whole room exudes elegance.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Room 14 with a view like that I could sit transfixed for hours and hours.

Tina, beautiful selection and truly I love something about each and every one, but this one just speaks to me. I LOVE your blog, its just incredible. First time commenting, this is a lot of fun to participate in.

    Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  58. 3, 8 and 10 all invited me in!!! 3 isn't even in my typical color palette, but I just loved it!!!!

And, would you believe I've never seen the Notebook....when I can catch a quiet evening at home, I am going to curl up and watch it!!!
    xoxo Elizabeth

  59. Wow, these are some great choices! I am thrilled to see so many with round tables--I need to find one! Can you provide websites where you found these particular round tables, especially 1,4,5 and 6? Thanks for such an informative blog... I'm about a year behind you in the process of building our dream house and I'm getting lots of inspiration from you.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Tina,
    Another fun challenge.

Some of the dining rooms have incredible views (9 &14), but when I thought about entertaining -- with the exception of a traditional Italian Sunday supper --I would use this room at night when the view would be non-existent. Sooo, I like #1 for the glamorous antiqued-mirror wall, tall doors and fabulous furniture, #6 for its generous size, fireplace, iron work and arched doors -- but I would remove the curtains from the doors.

But, if forced to choose, I would have to pick #8 for its window seat, great French-style chandelier, large table with comfy chairs and generous sized built-ins. I am a dish-a-holic and could really fill them up. This room is so warm and welcoming and is, at the same time, glamorous.
    Best...Victoria

    8 and 11...gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm kind of surprised but #13 is my favorite out of this group. I'm not sure why but dining rooms stump me .....

    ReplyDelete
  63. # 3 for me! Love the beautiful wallpaper.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Difficult decision, but Number 3 has the greatest number of my favorite elements, so I'll have to go with that one.

    ReplyDelete
  65. For this dinner party I'd pick 6 although 3 is just so pretty...would pick 3 for a less casual dinner party in the future. To make it easier on myself, I didn't take some of the amazing views into consideration.:)

    ReplyDelete
  66. Wow ... what a hard decision! I'm going with Number 6, though ... just gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Although I love a room with a view ... I was loving #8 today.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Tina!Tina! Tina! You have outdone yourself today. I don't usually find many dining rooms I am passionate about, but you have selected dining rooms "beyond wonderful". Lovin #16,#12,#8 & #2. Guess i only get one vote, so I select #12 because it offers exotic, romantic with the connection to outside, and the colors would so enhance dining! ~ Redema

    ReplyDelete
  69. Choice 8 is a dining room I tore out of Veranda magazine and have loved for a long time but Choice 13 would come in a close second place. I think round tables are so conducive for conversation... don't you?
    xxoo

    ReplyDelete
  70. i think 6 might just do... (he he) there is something so wonderfully intimate about a round table in front of the fireside..
the complete ambience for an evening meal with family or friends...

and i am with you on the coffee circuit ... i saw your comment on jeanne's blog today and laughed... rain, sleet, snow, or 100 degrees i just love my coffee! i would move mountains to have it... xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  71. This was so easy for me, usually I have two choices but today it is definitely #2,fresh, clean full of light and airy!! comfortable with touches of old and new, perfection,
    Kathysue

    ReplyDelete
  72. #14 -- if only for the view itself. Beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Choice #14, nice view, good quality of furniture, comfortable chair. Sanbrosnan@yahoo.com

    ReplyDelete
  74. Another hard choice. I am especially drawn to #16 and #4 (would love to see the rest of that house!), but if I have to choose, I'd take #16. I'm an english country girl at heart!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I am going to say #8, hands down. This one wasn't nearly as hard for me to choose as the last ones you have challenged us with. I also liked #11.

    ReplyDelete
  76. SOme would be oerfect to extend the flavor of your evening, BUT we get to keep the room after the party, right? So I have to eliminate 9 & 15 because as lovely as they are, it just feels too much like a hotel or country resort. #2 would be nice with the kitchen I chose from your last "test"! and #16 would be perfection at Christmas or any of the autumn holidays and through WInter. But I will go with the classic and traditional #3, because dining rooms can be very expensive rooms to furnish well and you may only get one chance to have the best - and that room looks like the BEST!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Wow, this one is proving unusually difficult, that's odd, I am generally able to pick a favorite as soon as I lay eyes on the photo! That isn't the case today, I have been going back and forth. Much as I love the view in #14, I will go with #2 for the cozy yet elegant style.

BTW, your post at Chic Coastal Living was wonderful. I adored the outfit you put together, not to mention all those seasonal photos, the candle, it was just a delight.

    Sending you a smile,
    tp

  78. For me....#2 is an easy choice. Love these post!

    ReplyDelete
  79. For me the decision came easy, #9... no contest!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  82. I am totally choosing dining room #8.... LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. l fell in love with # 8. the colour scheme and table setting are gorgeous.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I guess Iove #2 - but 12 pulls at my heartstrings too!
    xox Gina

    ReplyDelete
  85. Totally 16!!!! I feel like Ralph Lauren might join me :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. It would have to be choice #9!!! Love that room with the view overlooking the hills, valleys, mountains! Just beautiful! Looking forward to seeing how you dress up your dining area...thank you for the mention again today! You are the best! xo!

    ReplyDelete
  87. 9 and 14 would be my favorites because of the setting. I love the feeling of bringing the outdoors in and those views. Also, if you have music playing you need room for people to get up and dance as does happen with us a lot so those would be my choices.

    ReplyDelete
  88. It´s really hard to choose only one, I narrowed the choice to 3. My picks are 2,5 and 9
But really, all of them have something special. Great choices.
    Thanks for sharing.
I love your blog, I´ve tried several times to become a follower but I can´t! (Maybe you tell me how to do it) I visit you very often though.

    ReplyDelete
  89. In order of preference, #16 (I've always loved Ralph Lauren's dining room) and then, #9!

    ReplyDelete
  90. I already did that in my blogger, but I also wanted to do it on your page so you could see one more follower, but I still can´t.
My posts are also written in english (except the title), so besides viewing the picutes you can also get the scoop.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Good morning dear one!

Well, that pic with the hearth in the dining room is my choice!

Off to work now, but I would rather stay here with you all...Anita

    ReplyDelete
  92. Number 1 or 16 -- both are "evening" rooms that envelope you. The first with its mirrored tile wall; the second with its dark walls and gallery art. Love the fireplace in number 6, but would decorate differently.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Such beautiful rooms! It was a hard decision but ultimately 16 won me over hands down.

    ReplyDelete
  94. #7- Love all the round tables ~ the only way to entertain! Just redid my DR with a round table to make entertaining more inviting! I love the cane pattern wallpaper & the fireplace is wonderful!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Eek! I'm finally getting a moment to comment. Soo many lovelies! The formal dining room seems to be disappearing in homes. I'll admit that I don't use mine as often as I'd like, but maybe I will more when I grown up ;) I pick choice number 3 hands down!

    ReplyDelete
  96. If I had to choose without regard to the view of the outside, it will be 3, 8 and 12 for me. I like traditional style! I enjoy your "Which Would You Choose" series a lot. More please ...

    ReplyDelete
  97. Hi what a fun post! It was very hard to narrow it to just one so how about two? My choices are 16 and 3, one for summer and spring and the other for all and winter. Both so elegant, would have dinner parties every weekend if those were my dining rooms!!

    ReplyDelete
  98. I'd choose 9 or 14. I love a dining room with a beautiful view. I especially love how the doors for 9 open up. It feels like you're dining al fresco.

    ReplyDelete
  99. No contest - number 8!
Now I'm going to look through to see who my fellow diners will be at table 8.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Choice 3 without a doubt. That room is so me.
Also choice 2, but my winner is 3.

    ReplyDelete
  101. sorry, all of this seems so petty after reading about Luke from his father..very sad..keep your faith in the Lord Mike! not everyone lives a perfect fairy tale life! maybe if we all focused on helping the inoocents of the world such as abvused children & animals and were vocal more about it, we all would live in a better world. I'm so tired of hearing one sad story after another, what is wrong with such evil people?
sorry to had to say that!
#3 is my choice because Ijust did my dining room is these colors.

  102. Oh my goodness....8 or 11, 8 or 11, 8 or 11 uhhhh 11! No wait..8?!?! Yeah, 8.

  103. #2....If it's blue, it gets my vote!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I would have to say #14 and close following #9.

  109. Oh no, I hope I'm not to late Tina. I am all over #9, love it. The views are awesome, I love the simple elegant room. Candles, wine, family and friends.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Number 2 is just too cozy and all that's needed for fine dining.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Too easy- number 11- but what does my terrace look like? These posts are great for dreamers like me!

    ReplyDelete
  112. 2, 9 or 10, absolutely love them, great post and inspirations.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I like them all but it's #11 hands down. Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  114. No contest. #9 was an easy choice for me! Warm and earthy with those fantastic windows and stunning views. It made my heart skip a beat!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Would it be too diva of me to ask if I could change rooms according to whim, season and menu? I knew you'd understand. :) Where do you find all these yummy images?

    ReplyDelete
  116. I love this series - and seeing how my choices stack up with everyone else's....

    ReplyDelete
  117. Choice 4 set my heart thumping but that was because I was mentally decorating it for Christmas. As an actual dining room, bearing in mind that I'd have to eat in it for the rest of the year too, I think it would be a bit too grand and overbearing for me.

Choice 13 would be my preference, I think. I'd feel comfortable in there, not feeling like the house was looking down at me for looking like your average scruff in jeans and trainers.

But you know, when it comes to my dream house, I'd never really thought of the dining room. I've thought of my kitchen, the living room, the bathroom and my bedroom but never the dining room. In my more fanciful moments, I've even thought about a library and an entrance hall but those ideas are probably best confined to the "Don't be stupid" section of my brain. The house valuation on anything with just the basic rooms is well beyond me right now, let alone anything with non-basic rooms.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Couldn't choose just one.... #6, #8, #10, and #11... All are so beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  119. #3 is beautiful, love #16 also!
