Which would you choose?

Good morning.....decided this will be a regular post since everyone enjoyed it so much!

Back by popular demand! This time I focus on living rooms. Allow me to set the scene. You are having a cocktail party for 20 of your nearest and dearest. The candles have been lit, you have been blessed by the weather gods above and been given a perfect evening for your little soiree and your music of choice gently fills the air. Amazing aromas are permeating throughout the house from the kitchen where all kinds of appetizing foods are being prepared for your guests who are soon to arrive.  Before dinner you will all be congregating in your living room for cocktails and then return after dinner for coffee and dessert. Your living room should reflect your personal style and what makes you feel comfortable. SO with that in mind, its time for you to look at the living rooms below.....tell me, which would you choose? Can't wait to find out!

CHOICE 1. Calming, inviting, and old world elegance.

CHOICE 2. Opulent, fussy and European.

CHOICE 3. French inspired, airy and formal

CHOICE 4.  Warm, bright and soothing.

CHOICE 5. Tuscan, welcoming and cozy

CHOICE 6. Cool, modern and classic.

CHOICE 7. Shabby chic, charming and sweet.

CHOICE 8. Bold, modern and crisp.

CHOICE 9. Coastal, airy and inviting.

CHOICE 10. Old world, regal and stately.

CHOICE 11. Eclectic, fun and dramatic.

CHOICE 12. Warm, rustic and grand.

So tell me, which is your choice? I love to know what all you style mavens and house hunters love! Wishing you a wonderful day.

  1. This is fun! Mine is a dead tie between #1 and #4, I could be very comfortable in either of those rooms, all are beautiful but those two especially are my speed!

  2. Oh, Do I really need to choose only one??? :-)

    I'd have a mix of #1 and # 9. I'm loving this!!!!!

  3. I can't pick just one since they're all beautiful but my favorites are 1, 3 and 9. Something light and airy but I've learned not to plush and comfortable because then people never leave...lol.

  4. Love #12 that looks like a magical place to gather family and friends..beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  5. OK, there are too many!! And I would go to any of them after that intro of the music and food! But if I had to choose just one, I would pick 8 or maybe 9. What's most interesting is that my personal style is totally different from both! Have a great day, Tina.

  6. I can't choose just one... Either 1, 10 or 11.

  11. Well, taking into account that we live on the Bay-and in the Midwest-I would have to pick the Coastal one..or the last one. The last one is just a tad rustic for my taste but my husband would love it. I also, personally, love the calm, quiet elegance of the Number one. Great post, Tina! xo Diana

  12. This is very difficult, they are all beautiful! I couldn't just pick one, so picked #1, #4, #8, #9. Have a great day Tina!

  13. All are beautiful, but #4 is definitely my style.

  14. Well, I guess I am the oddball. I am definitely drawn to #2. Love all the blue and white vases, the rug, etc. I love the layering details -- like it took years to create. It seems like such a cozy, well-loved room.

  15. #4

  16. I love the ceiling and the chandy from 1, the windows from 3, the couch from 8, and my overall I-could-move-in-today-and-not-change-a-thing is number 9. LOVE!

  17. #2 & #12..love these warm, beautiful colors. Such inviting, elegant european rooms..LOVE them both ♥

  18. What a great post!! Loved all of the examples you selected but for me there was no doubt that I would want to be in #9. But, I could appreciate the beauty in each of the rooms. You just have to look at these different spaces and be convinced of how much design affects mood. Love your blog.

  19. I love the Tuscan room and the Rustic one as well. Maybe they could be blended, somewhat. I don't love the color of green in the Tuscan room, but prefer the warm tones in the rustic setting. Beautiful<3

  20. Tina, great choices. No difficult choosing for me, I would go for the first LR.
I love everything about it, simply elegant!

  21. I think I will be the first to go with #5. I love green and I love an uncluttered look. However, #12 is a close second - definitely feels warm and inviting and makes me want to redecorate a cabin we have in North Georgia.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I love #9 and #12 and surprising the modern crisp is my third choice! Fun!

    ReplyDelete
  23. #1 or maybe #9. Gorgeous rooms!

    ReplyDelete
  24. It's hard to answer because I feel architecture comes into play in those pictures as much as furniture style. I like 3, 6, 8 and 9 (but I don't think I love the furniture in 3, just the building).

    ReplyDelete
  25. You put forth some tough choices! Probably #4 "warm & soothing" is first, followed (closely) by #8 "Bold, modern and crisp." They all are really very inviting, lovely options, each & every one!

    Sending you a smile!

  26. Tina,

This is fun! I like 1-5, 9,10, and 12 they all work for me and would love to entertain in any one of these lovely rooms. Livingrooms have a language all their own.

  27. I going to have to have 2 parties, Tina...I'm exhausted already! Love the airy, formal #3 and the warm, bright soothing #4. Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe the second party is in my fabulous imaginary beach house!! Hope you're having a great week ~

    ReplyDelete
  28. Tina, can I cheat and combine 3 and 4? I love to soften the formality of the French with a little comfortable warmth, pairing things that are just a bit unexpected but play so well together! Of course, I need 5 houses for my multiple style personalities! XO

    ReplyDelete
  29. Okay here is how I decided...... I pretended that one of those rooms would be given to me and only one so It is #1 for me. It is spacious, full of light and the French doors opened up to a living area outside, just perfect for entertaining!! xo Kathysue

    ReplyDelete
  30. I vote choice # 1, 2, and 9

    ReplyDelete
  31. I took Kathysues advise. I pretended that a room was given to me and I had to choose just one. I went back and forth and could not choose just one
so I chose #1,#4 and #9. I would have to flip a coin to just pick one.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I am going to go with #6-cool, modern, and classic!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Good morning! I would have said Door #4 until I saw #9! I love high beamed ceilings. Lots of great choices though...I love a test with no wrong answers!

    ReplyDelete
  34. CHOICE 9. Coastal, airy and inviting. I like the "nature" feel. I also like that it is a little rustic but not too much.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Tina as many have said so many of these are gorgeous I would be thrilled to be hosting a dinner party in any one of them but the one that speaks to me the most is 5, though I am super big on that color green, that room feels so inviting and livable. Comfortable but elegant, like the kind of room you want to linger in a long long time.

    ReplyDelete
  36. You make this so hard! It's a tie between French (3) and Tuscan (5)...normally I wouldn't pick something so formal, but I absolutely love that room!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. This is so much fun...it's also an exercise for me in identifying what style I am truly comfortable in. That said, I love #1, #4 and even #9...maybe I'd do a combination of the above! I loved your "stage" setting description, I could almost hear the music and smell some yummy food wafting from the kitchen.

  38. Hospitality, warmth, and comfort abound in #12!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hard to choose, but beautiful choices to decide from ! I love both 9 and 12, and they are somewhat similar I notice.....

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love the configuration of Room 1, being able to have that party both indoors and outdoors with an easy flow would be wonderful. I think I'd simplify the details in the room. I like an easy traditional look (that took me hours to make look easy!)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'd have to mix it up...a little bit of 4 and 8 I think.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I like #9. I like the exposed beams but not as much as #12. I like casual, comfortable, stylish and I want a chandelier. #9 fits me.

    ReplyDelete
  43. N°1 or N°3????
I would go for n°3, for the peaceful feeling and wonderful paneling!

  44. These are gorgeous! I would have to mix 1, 4, and 9 together :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. No 1 - a good combination of style and comfort. Although I do like 3 and 4 too.

    ReplyDelete
  46. cool modern and classic--such a fun post!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'd be most comfortable in #12, and if Ricky & Ralph Lauren were my dinner guests, they'd feel right at home...it has that Double RL Ranch feel that I love. What the heck, might as well invite Oprah - she'd love it too! It's easy to get carried away with the fantasy. :)

  49. Why? Why do I have to pick one? This is hard because you picked pretty spectacular ones. But only because you're forcing me I'll pick two num. 2 and 9

    ReplyDelete
  50. I would like #1, but I would ditch the window treatments and the picture over the fireplace, and replace with something simpler. The other choice is #9...love it!

    ReplyDelete
  51. This was really hard but i think its 6 or 7 completely different styles but i love them both

    ReplyDelete
  52. what a fun post! Lovin #1 and #12. #1 for the informality of such a formal room and #12 for the warmth and the formality of the furniture in such an informal setting. Tina you are so clever! love your blog. It always leaves me in awe.... Redema

  53. Such gorgeous and well-appointed rooms! We would greet guests in room 12 with a libation and have pianist playing great tunes. Then usher guest into room 2 for hors'hourves~ the rug would not show any spills. This is a ruckus causing crowd! Then to dinner. LOTS of great food and conversation.
After dinner we would have dessert in room 1 and ice wine in room 3. After our guest were quite full we would let the men retire for cigars in room 6 (open those doors!) and women would have a great piece of chocolate and a healthy side order of chit-chat in room 7. Everyone back together for a night cap in room 10 then....
We would all crash in room 4 and have breakfast the next morning in room 5. Everyone would declare this the best time they had in years!
You are quite the hostess, Tina! ANd you selection of rooms~ swoon worthy!
    So fun!

  54. I guess since it's the fall I would go with chioce number 9!! love a rustic cabin look! They're all beautiful and it was hard to choose for me!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Dear Tina, this was a hard one! I know which one not to choose though and that would be the shabby chic...but all the others are all beautiful!!! No1, 4 and 6...all great! Have a lovely week!

    Love, Kristin

  56. Definitely #3 for me, which is so weird since it looks nothing like my house! I love this series Tina!

  57. There is definitely something I like about all the rooms....but if I have to narrow it down....#1, #4, and #9 are my favs!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hi, Tina,
What fun! I'll take #2, please. The blue and white collection on that lovely old dresser, the paisley shawl, trumeau mirror, the screen and beautiful rug are all things I have in my home. I agree with Carol; the patterns and layers definitely look like the items were collected over time and have a story to tell. Yes, my decision is final...it is #2.
    Best,
    Victoria

  59. #9...well I also liked 8 so what does that say... but in the end I will go with 9.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I would choose #3. I love that you gave a story to help us decide! My selection may have been #9 if the situation you gave us were different. So fun!

    ReplyDelete
  61. #9 way out front for me, with #2 a bit behind. None of the others were contenders for me at all, oddly enough. #9 I loved because it had a rustic element that grounded it beautifully.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Oops. I meant #1 as my second choice, not #2. #2 way, way too fussy for me lol

    ReplyDelete
  63. Love the old world appeal of #2. It just looks like its a room filled with wonderful things and has a story to tell, I love interesting rooms and this fits the bill beautifully!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hi Tina-

Fun Fun Fun - Mixing #4 and #9 would create the perfect room.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Number four for me without reservation!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Definitely #4, Warm, Bright, Soothing. I would like to be in that room right now!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Definitely 1,3 or 4!! Love the looks, but also love the light and windows! Great fun Tina!

    ReplyDelete
  68. These exercises are great because they make me really think about what I like! I love no 3 but perhaps with a bit more comfort as in no 1 or 5 and I love the exposed trusses of no 9, so perhaps a combination of all 4! More please!

    ReplyDelete
  69. 2, 8, 9 and 11!!! They all speak to me!! #2 a little fussy ... just remove a little of the fuss ... but so warm, I'd want this room in the winter! #9 for the woodwork and neutral colors, but still inviting. #8 Bold blue ... sophisticated but fun and easy to see friends gathered here! #11 Eclectic but COZY! love love the seating in this room. Oh, can't you just do them all????

    ReplyDelete
  70. coastal, hands down, for the ceiling. when a room has such good bones, the decor is the second act versus a plain box with great decor

  71. Number 1 & 3 because in my house I would have both of these wonderful rooms! Why not????? Fun post.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I love them all. I wish I had 9 different homes where I could use them all!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Hmmm...if I had to choose, #12. They are all a bit too fancy fru fru or bland to me. I don't feel like any of them are a room where my guests could feel comfortable curling their feet under themselves on the couch without worrying about mussing the fabric or putting their feet up on the coffee table. That is how I want my guests to feel in my home.

    ReplyDelete
  74. My goodness.........hard to decide but if one only, then I will go with the first image! Although I really love 3, 8, 11, and 12 too! I would absolutely love to know the most-to-least popular chosen from your followers! It would be so fun to know when you do these types of posts!

  75. Number one...absolutely...I love the mix of pastels, soothing palate, wood and painted furniture, and elegant French style. I just found your blog today and it's heavenly!!
