Good morning! Back and ready for anything. Feel recharged after a few days at the beach and I am ready to take on the big job that lies ahead to meet our inspection date on Aug.22nd. I cannot say enough how completely restorative and therapeutic being by the ocean is. I stayed in a beautiful home which certainly helps but being right next to the ocean, having natures lullaby, the oceans waves putting me easily to sleep and waking up to the glistening Atlantic is just incredible. It feels so natural to me too (I did spend much of my childhood in California and Hawaii). It was very timely as the stress level has been off the charts for me, so this was really what the doctor ordered!
On a side note, can you imagine my delight, and sheer excitement over signing into Feedburner and discovering that I have 1002 subscribers! HOLY MOLY...how did that happen? I remember jumping over the moon when I reached 10, then it was 100 and dare I wish for that great big triple digit number of 500? But 1000? Seriously? I am humbled beyond words and so delighted that there are 1000 people in this great vast world of ours that think highly enough of me and my blog to want to get my daily updates and posts. This I promise my friends, will keep my adrenaline going for some time now and I will work hard to keep delivering!! Many thanks!!

CHELSEA TEXTILES. Love this company's gorgeous traditional fabrics and some of their Gustavian furniture is over the top beautiful. I love the elegant old world feel of their fabrics, which are recreated from original English and French 17th, 18th and 20th century designs that are embroidered on natural linen fabric. and could easily find a spot in my home for these bench's, small chests, and tables. What do you think? Click here to visit their website.
Really love this bench!
Great chair for a sitting room in a master
I love this for the end of a bed
So thats what I am loving this week.....how about you? What is exciting you? Discover anything you want to share? Would love to know! Wishing you a fabulous Friday and a great start to the weekend!
Oh Tina I'm am once again lost for words! What a magnificent house, I particularly love the fact that you have also made the back vista as beautiful as the front, something so often overlooked. I love the pretty furniture and think the styling would fit in so well! There's something very 'French chateau' about combing the humble rustic check and gingham with formal furniture and I adore it! You simply must have some large billowing plain linen curtains too!! Warmest wishes from a 500 year old farmhouse in England! Hugs - Glenda xxx P.s. you are right it is a continent not an island! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL. ONLY TWO WORDS I CAN FIND. Just takes my breath away you have done it all in such magnificent taste. I look so forward to these wonderful updates that you so kindly share with us.
ReplyDeleteThank you and welcome back.
Your home is stunning!!!! Beyond amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking fantastic, Tina! I LOVE the powder room floor, and I can't wait to see the finished kitchen!! Very excited for you :)
ReplyDeleteThis house is amazing. Of course, I am in love with the kitchen. Ah...the living room floor. I love it!! I can't wait to see the floor stained. The pattern is wonderful. I love your updates!!
ReplyDeleteYou home is coming along so nicely! And, my oh my, it is such a stately home. You are quite blessed to be creating such a lovely place to call home! The back is just as gorgeous as the front...sheer perfection! To look at the images reminds of my visit to Paris this past spring...I can only image you took great inspiration from your travels to France. Figs! Love them and I make fig and goat cheese salad all the time during the summer. Also, I make fig spread too! I like to toast slices of a baguette, smear goat cheese and then add the fig spread before drizzling with a touch of honey! Okay, your post has starting my day off on the right foot!
ReplyDeleteNot surprised one bit that you have 1002 subscribers. You deserve every one. You are like the best free gift there is!
ReplyDeleteI like coming to your blog more than I like opening up any of my magazines....seriously!
Now this house is just unreal. I am so impressed wtih everythign, the kitchen is going to be to die for! This house will surely get all the magazines attention thats for sure.
Cannot wait till you start decorating. Love the marble slabs, good luck making your decisions.
Amy
miss enchanted,
ReplyDeleteyou surely will be living an enchanted existence when you move in.
not that the architecture is the same at all,
but it is starting to rival the scale of 'BRIDESHEAD'.
just lovely!! xxx
Oh sweet one.....
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, you words to me just minutes ago are divine. What insight and kindness you possess. Then I come here to not only be greeted by your hospitality, but I see your home taking such shape, you offer a DELICIOUS list of recipes that I JUST LOVE, an album rich with photos that inspire and that FOX TERRIER ON THE CHAIR!!! That is my guy, my dream mutt!
I am so happy for you precious one, your CASTLE is so lovely and I would go in a hot minute to walk by your estate when it is done, if in your vicinity I ever would be. Ahhhhhh....what a dream to TRUE!
Thank you for your reminder that my dreams are at my fingertips...literally!
BISOUS, Anita
Your pictures of your beautiful home are amazing. I love the regular updates of the progress. First time I've heard of lead clad copper gutters, they sound like from another era. All the best!
ReplyDeleteI'm always so speechless over the house, that it's hard for me to concentrate on the "things I love". I was traveling to Kristy's house yesterday (working on the nursery)YAY, and could hardly wait for morning to look back to Thursday's update, and what a pleasant surprise that it was today!! It is stunning and all coming together so beautifully. Love the floors in the powder room. You must just walk from room to room in awe...!! Happy Friday ~
ReplyDeleteTina, all of your attention to details is coming together for perfection. We adore the calcutta marble. Oh who are we kidding...we love it all!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Angela and Renee
Tina, what a fabulous home, you are doing such a wonderful job with all of your decisions! Love the back exterior..what a dream. Will you also be installing a pool? that would be so divine. Love the chelsea furniture & textiles, they would look awesome in your home. Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations about your subscribers!!! One thing I keep learning about the "blog world", it's a lot of work it you want to do it "right" and it takes a lot of time, but all the support you get from your readers is the best gift you can get. I see why you have so many people here. As I said yesterday, you give your 100% and we see and appreciate that!
Your house is just dreamy inside-out! It's so beautiful to feel your enthusiasm for every detail done. It makes me happy. I was even telling my husband the other day about your good taste! :-)
Have a blessed weekend!

Tina,
ReplyDeleteThe house looks grand! I know that you are tired, but being this close has to be exciting! Thanks for sharing.
Love figs. Could eat far too many at the time.
I will be looking at the site because I love these pieces.
Have a nice day, and relax.

Your home is stunning already! I won't have a word for it when it's done!! Love seeing the progress that is being made and sharing some of the excitement. It's amazing really that there are craftsmen out there who can build something so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteTina you're house is looking so incredible! The view from the back is gorgeous! I can't wait to see what your plans are for that space! Love the marble too! You must get it or you will regret it trust me!
ReplyDeleteTina, this post is stunning. I look forward to all your house updates, but as the project continues, the posts get more and more exciting. All your choices are exquisite.
ReplyDeleteI am redoing my kitchen and had the same problem you encountered looking for wonderful slabs. I chose calcutta gold macchia vecchia -- means old spot because it has random veins of ochre in it -- and it took me more than two months and a lot of traveling to find them. The price was stunning too, but I have heard there is very little good product out there because marble has become so popular. Will your slabs be honed? That is the look I prefer.
I love the Gustavian furniture, one of my favorite styles, and that last textile is gorgeous.
The fig recipes sound delicious. I absolutely love figs, so thanks for taking time to include some recipes. I don't know how you find the time to do it all, but it explains why you have so many followers. Have a great weekend. Victoria
Amazing, stunning, beautiful! I cant wait to see it when it is all done. You must be having so much fun designing your own home. I love everything you have done. Congrats on subscribers. I just started a blog a month ago. We are so excited every time we get a follower or a comment.

Tina we are living through you vicariously. You are going to be living in such grandeur!! One of the many things I love about you is your are so down to earth and real about all the grandeur that most of us could only dream about. You are such a genuine, kind and giving lady, this is why you have a well deserved following. I know for myself I get a cup of coffee, put on some soft music and enjoy my trip with TINA in the mornings. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job of giving us a guided tour into your amazing life!! xo Kathysue
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're recharged and ready to embrace the next phase as Summer begins to say farewell. You sound grounded and that's a good thing.
Congrats winners! Yay Pretty Pink Tulips and Simplified Bee Cristin! Great weekend starter.
Congrats on Feedburner followings. That's fabulous! They obviously know a good thing when they read it.
Congrats on House Updates and I'm sure there are a lot of smiling faces (especially yours) coming and going crew included. Time to plan a construction crew party to "christen" your modern day castle before you move in.
Thank you for sharing the fig salad my husband and I are crazy salad lovers and we're always trying new ones. Can't wait to copy and paste into my salad folder.
Calcutta Gold Marble love love love it and when you want what you want and you find it...it's worth it hands down. Rejoice in finding it and don't look back.
Chelse Textiles and Gustavian furniture are a perfect match with the integrity of your home. Their fabrics are timeless and always draw interest. The fifth fabric photo looks pretty close to the fabric I have as my living room drapery and the second photo looks like the drapery in my dining room. Love all the fabrics shown here. The furniture is a great scale and really comfortable looking as well as the finishes and fabric on selected pieces.
Lots to celebrate including the release of the movie "The Help". Happy Friday spectacular day here on The Enchanted Home Blog and this weekend is something to continue to celebrate...Life is Good!
Blessings!
Bette
Yeah! Congratulations on over 1000 subscribers!! Your house really is starting to look like it could be livable soon! I love the gutters. They are gorgeous!! The marble just looks so delicious! I can't wait to check out Chelsea Textiles! Thanks for sharing! Have a lovely weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG! That's not a dream house, that's a mansion! Calacutta is a must!
ReplyDeleteI really love the wood floors you chose, can't wait to see them finished.
Definitely go for some Chelsea Textiles furniture and fabrics. They've been on my "to die for" list for the past 5 years.
Thanks for sharing!
Tina, from the front of the house to the back and every little detail in between, your home is incredibly stunning. What a dream to be able to live in such a gorgeous home. ReplyDeleteI am at work so this is short and sweet~ Glad you got back from the Beach with re-newed energy and dedication to finishing the job. The house is looking marvelous...and your island is going to be gorgeous. Good stone is not cheap, is it? Smaller pieces are not so pricey because they are easier to come by...the big ones---shut up Irene~

ReplyDeleteFABBY
Tina, your personality shines through so well in your fabulous writing which is always such a joy to read. I always take note of the good writers! So glad you got away, I too was away for 8 days to California and Hawaii and I came home with renewed vigor.
ReplyDeleteYour home is one of those great homes that will stand the test of time. When you are done it will look like its been there for many many years. Kudos to your architect and builder. My father was a well known archictect in Birmingham and good architecutre does not come easy (or cheap) but you have gotten it totally right. It takes great taste and a high level of understanding proper architecture to do that so that is a huge pat on the back to both you and your husband. Beautifully done.
what an exquisite home, I am looking forward to to following your blog Tina. It already has the look of a French chateau - we just returned from France yesterday & the houses are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI was so busy counting your blessings that I forgot to count mine! I have a fig tree! LOL!
ReplyDeleteMay the memories you form in your new home be as lovely as the home itself!
xoxo
Andie

Tina, everything is looking wonderful! I totally understand the stress - I have been awake since 1:30 am, I woke up and my mind kicked into high gear. It is so amazing to see everything that you have thought about for months and years start to be installed - but very stressful too - we had one big issue this week (a focal point of one room had been redesigned without my approval, and the redesign was absolutely hideous - we are redoing it), but it caused me a ton of stress and worry (still is).
ReplyDeleteIt has been amazing seeing your house come together, especially since we have been on a similar building timeframe and schedule. Does it seem real yet that you will be living in this magnificent house?
- Holly
Congrats on your subscriber milestone! (I was very excited at reaching 10 myself) and on your continued productivity on your home. I find your unwavering dedication to detail inspiring! AND I love those marble slabs you've found! Stunning! Looking forward to your next generous post, as always!
ReplyDeleteKL
Having a house built for me was so stressful. I think you have a good handle on the entire procedure. The house is turning out magnificently and hopefully it continues as such.
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and it's so well written.
I'm so glad you stopped by my blog so I could come and follow along with your spectacular home build!! Your house is stunning. European castle comes to mind. I am going to be checking in regularly so that I can see how things progress. I hope you managed to get that marble slab because you might just regret it if you don't. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe house is magnificent now let's see how you make it into a home. The spaces are un real. All I can think about is how will they pay the utility bills. This is way over my head, but I sure can appreciate it. Thanks for your progress report. Richard from My Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteYou completely blow me away. Every week, every post! And, I'm so happy you guys had a little holiday at the beach. Your home continues to amaze everyone. Every detail is perfect. Sending love, my precious friend....
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen is going to be fabulous as is the rest of your enchanted home! It is absolutely amazing in every way. Thanks for sharing, I love to see the updates. I would like to know, what flooring do you have in the magnificent kitchen??
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog and visiting. Your home is amazing and I am now anxious to see each project. Stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteWow. Is there more to say!
ReplyDeleteMy 7 year old boy said, "wow it is like Hogwarts but smaller". Then he went on to say, "I would not like to live in a mansion bc if you had to pee, you would have to run to the other side of the mansion to get to the bathroom." I explained that there are probably lots of bathrooms.
This is seriously one of the most stunning homes and having you take us through the construction process is truly inspiring. That marble is breathtaking and worth the $ too!

Many congratulations on your numbers....cannot say I am surprised your posts are incredible! The mansion.... a home to be... we all wait with baited breath...a very lovely building with details to die for... so far you are doing a beyond fabulous job....your tile work is breathtaking throughout!
ReplyDeleteThe house is gorgeous, and your post wonderful....but actually, I am zeroing in on that fig recipe! Funny, I made the very same one this evening for guests and it was FABULOUS! I was going to do a post on it, and I will link back to you for sure when I do! I found the very same one on line, but was inspired by you! thanks....
ReplyDeleteTina - you've mentioned several things I love as well. I love fig anything - from the fruit to jam or ice cream to candles - anything fig grabs my attention. Chelsea Textiles is a classic choice - I wrote about the owner's house in England a while back. And isn't the price of Calcutta Gold insane? I don't know what happened - it used to be perfectly reasonable. Everything is coming along swimmingly - you must be so excited to be nearing the end!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness....this is what happens when I'm entertaining house guests...I miss my favorite blogs. Love, love, love how the house is looking. It really is a jaw-dropper!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, those slabs. Oh how I would take any one of them!
So excited to win Phyllis' book! Thank you so much. I will thank of you as I turn the pages.
xoxo Elizabeth
