I've got the blues....in all its many shades!

Good morning. I have a small request. I get a fair number of anonymous comments which is totally fine. However many of those ask me questions about specifics on a post, like the name of a paint color or an architects name, and I am generally very prompt at getting back to people and always acknowledge the questions. But if you are anonymous I have no way of writing you back! So the best thing most likely to insure a reply is to click on the "email me" link on the right and it will allow you to email me directly with your question. Hope this clarifies things, as I am always more than happy to help/answer any questions.

Like blue? Me too, but I am sure that's not a big revelation if you have been coming to my blog for any length of time! I love blues from the palest milkiest grayest blues to the darkest inkiest navy. There is not a bad blue in my book. I find this color to be incredible versatile, uplifting, moody in a good way, dramatic when you want it to be and above all else beautiful! There are few colors paired with blue that don't look amazing, from all the neutrals all the way to rich browns. I know I will be using plenty of blue in my house as I start to decorate. So today is all about the many shades of blue that really light my fire. What is your opinion on blue? Like or love? Always love to know......

    Hi Tina LOVE blue & white! So classic!! Thanks for the beautiful images. I just had my dining room painted a gorgeous blue/ green, it looks pretty & feels so warm & welcoming. Just what I want when entertaining. Tina, I left an email asking if you would be carpeting your stairs, yet I never received a response(????)

    I love this post. I love blues and have them too:-)
    I just painted my bedroom a mix of blues and its like stepping into a cloud, I just love it. I agree blue works with everything and is like the perfect color.
    I copied that mosaic/collage to keep, its so beautiful!

    honestly,
    it is only in the last 10 years that i have been able to tolerate blue.
    i like deep blues.
    they must have tons of pigment for me to feel comfortable with them.
    you have some great examples of what i like.

    but soft - pale blue.......depressing.
    throw in some 'dusty rose'
    {i know the'dusty rose crack'is really dating me -} with the pale blue and you can just send me to the nursing home ....where all the other old ladies live still with their blue and pink bedspreads.

    I'm a big blue fan as well. I tend to like the "stepped" on varieties rather than the clear bright ones but as a pop even those could work for me!!

    Those sapphire blue velvet chairs are my favorite, but since I love blue, this entire POST is just tickling me right! Dearest, I start school on MONDAY and I may not get to your wonderful posts until the evening!     Love! Love, love, love, love, love! Of course, blue is my favorite color -- in all of its shades -- so I am a little biased. And I am definitely enjoying the resurgence of navy. ;-) My experience is that people fall into 2 groups -- blue people or green people. You can like both (and I do), but generally speaking, if given a choice, most people will always pick one over the other. And I'm a blue person!

    We didnt' realize how much blue we were in love with until you put all these gorgeous rooms together! Bearl Hill took our breath away and coud come home with us for a revamp any day. We love the muted (oushaq) with soft blue hints! Sigggghhhh!

    I've never been a blue person but I've been loving it more and more lately. I'm incorporating some blue into our new Dubai place - nothing says "cool, summer" like blue and white. :)

    You selection of gorgeous blues could convince anyone to add some blue to their homes! When I re-decorated my family room in neutrals I used blues to give it life!

    These are beautiful examples of blue and it's starting to grow on me. I like blue we have a blue area rug in our dining room but no other blue. I don't dislike blue but prefer shots of color.

    Swoon! Yes, blue is lovely. I particularly love the room accented with coral, I think coral is a perfect accent colour for this blue. In small touches of course.

    Hi, Tina, I love blue, most any blue, from aqua to gray blue to teal and turquoise. I have blue in some form in virtually every room in my home. In my last home I had an artist friend paint my dining room ceiling as a sky with clouds. It was beautiful. Here in Florida I have painted the ceiling in my family room a soft gray blue by Farrow and Ball called "Borrowed Light." (The walls are linen). Don't you love the paint color names F&B uses? What is your favorite gray blue paint color?

    I am always surprised when someone tells me they do not like blue! That blue crewel on the pillows would be good in the mountains and I love the bedroom with the twin chinois head boards.

    I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE, Blue & White and my home reflects my love for those colors. Designer Charles Faudree has a new book out, "Charles Faudree, Details". He also likes blue & white.     Tina- What a wonderful post. It is funny- I had blue for so many years and then went away from it...now I am craving it again. I think the only blue that ever really FELL from fashion was the Country Blue that had its day in the 1980's.     I also love blue and it's the first color I look for when I look for home goods. I have blue and brown, blue and beige, blue and taupe, blue and yellow combos throughout my home. Love them all and allays will. Great photos of blues here and I still seek out new ways of using it.

    Tranquil, ocean, serene, peace, calm, chic are all the ways I love blue and denim of course.

    I love Blue as well, I agree with everything that it is a great combination with every color.

    I have recently become a fan of blue and now have it all over my home. I never liked it before I was 40! Not sure why, I always considered myself a green person, but I just adore blue now. My favorite is the powdery greyish sky blue. You selected such great images to compare!

    I'm a blue person. My favorite is indigo or cobalt! I've always been drawn to cool colors and cool neutrals. Glad they are stylish now!

    I've claimed blue as my favorite color since I was a little girl. It gives me a sense of calmness when it's in variations of the sky or ocean. And, then it gives me the feel of crisp classic style when in its navy variations. I love blue, too!

    Hey Tina, I like looking at blue in other people's homes but it isn't 'me'. I don't wear it or decorate with it, although I do have an accent pillow with some teal in one of the bedrooms. You always have such great images!
