Happy Saturday! I, as you know, love flowers and might just have to open a charming little flower shop in my next life. They make me happy and I always try to have a small arrangement, bouquet or some floral beauty in my home. Particularly since we are not in our home, and in a rental with about half of our things in storage...I try to add small touches here and there to make it feel a little more like "home". Yesterday I was out and about so I swooped up two plants, found this beautiful little planter and voila, had a beautiful arrangement for a side chest in the kitchen......had to share since I really liked how it came out. (when planting orchids I love using a lot of moss and take little "squares" of moss and tie them with raffia on the stems, a tip I picked up from the "pros".Hope you are enjoying a nice weekend, we have dinner plans, some chauffeuring to do for my son, invited on a friends boat tomorrow and other than that...hopefully we can turn down the pace a notch or two and enjoy some much anticipated weekend downtime. On to Dee Dee Taylor Eustace of Taylor Hannah, I have admired their work for the last year or so after having discovered a gorgeous kitchen that Dee Dee designed. I looked further and was so impressed with their portfolio, created by the very firm that Dee Dee created and is today an multi award winning design firm. Very elegant spaces as evidenced by the pictures below. In my humble opinion, it seems their signature look is the "new traditional" a traditional room with a more modern, less fussy, more streamlined feel. Many of the spaces have a slight transitional feel and they are all incredibly beautiful if you ask me! One thing is for sure, the work of Dee Dee and Taylor Hannah architects is consistently fabulous! Based in Toronto, Canada they travel all over to create beautiful spaces. Selected as one of the top 40 under 40 recipients, Dee Dee hosted the show on HGTV, Love by design, in case you are thinking the name might sound familiar! I would be thrilled to call any of these spaces home. See what you think.... Dee Dee is highly regarded for her outstanding body of work that she and her namesake firm have created. Click here to visit their website. So, lets take a look! Could you possibly pick a favorite?
Now onto the beautiful spaces by Dee Dee Taylor......
This is one sumptuous master!
Elegant and monochromatic, like the pop of dark from the piano and table
So soothing, serene and inviting.......love it!
Grand sized space is a great fit for this beautiful transitional kitchen, love the high ceilings
Cozy and somehow grand feeling.......
Dressing would become a full time job in this closet, by choice of course!
This is an eclectic little space, the table is so unique!
Dramatic, dark and divine!
I would never be brave enough to paint my cabinets green but I have to admit this is awfully pretty!
Sweet and romantic guest room, fit for a princess
Elegant old world feeling space, very inviting at the same time...
This is another very grand and elegant country kitchen, check out the beadboard ceiling
I like the over sized subway going all the way up.....clean and perfect for boys!
This is a darling room, so sweet!
Drama overload...love how the gold pops against the deep dark woods
The rich dark chocolate brown gives this room such a luxurious feel with a slight masculine edge
I adore this kitchen, the light and dark, the double row of cabinets....beautiful!
Always loved this bath! So elegant and serene
Ample seating in this sitting area off the kitchen is so welcoming
Beautiful dining room....like the inset mirror in the panels
Love how open the shower feels with the glass on three sides....
An interesting mix of modern, transitional and old world European...
This is such a fresh and inviting bedroom, love the fabric on the headboard!
This is a perfect example of how beautifully they blend styles within a room
So what do you think of their style? Like it? Love it? Do you have a favorite room? It would be hard to pick a favorite but I do like and enjoyed seeing their take on the "new traditional", slightly less stuffy, more streamlined, fresh colors, sleeker feeling...its a great look and very much in sync I think with how people like to live today. Hope you have a wonderful Saturday!
Gorgeous pics!! I love what you did with the orchids~nice tip for us all. I really love the 4 botanicals behind them as well. Tina, the third image on the room shots caught my eye, I just painted my hallway this same color I think. Looks like a dusky lavender and they have paired it up with blue and white cabinetry...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love the last image....the colors are all so gorgeous together!
ReplyDeleteoh my ... i just loved all this pictures, its a wonderful work !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!

Good morning, not familiar wtih this name but happy to have "met" them. Beautiful work, similiar to my style, a clean and more modern look to traditional. Love that last bedroom and that green kithchen, those are pretty incredible! I also love your orchids, what a beautiful job you did and thanks for the "tip from the pros". I will have to try that!
ReplyDeleteHi Tina, waiting anxiously for your next post on wallpaper & paint. Curious to know your color scheme. love the orchid! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove your orchids, Tina. Thanks for the 'pro' tip.
ReplyDeleteThe rooms by Dee Dee Taylor are lovely. You're so right - their look is definitely 'New Traditional' - my favorite design style!
Oh I love flowers too...
ReplyDeleteThanks for introducing me to a very talented designer, love her works .... so elegant, fresh, and inviting spaces.
Good Saturday morning! All beauty here, AGAIN, I see! I love the tips on displaying orchids. I use moss for the bedding around my plants but never thought to tie bundles of moss around the supports. Great, fabulous tip!
ReplyDeleteI will get to it right after making breakfast for my house full of boys!
Dee Dee's designs are breathtaking~ she has clean lines but goes from very farmhouse to french to modern classic. Wow! I am so attracted to anything with a classic farmhouse feel. Our home is farmhouse inspired and I am slowly redoing almost every room to have that feel.
Beautiful post! Have a joyous day!!!!
BTW~ thanks for you sweet comments on my picnic post and including me in you upcoming "pondering" post.
hugs,
Yvonne
Hard to pick just one fabulous room, but I think I'd go with the green kitchen. I've been toying with the idea of painting my cabinets green in my vacation home kitchen. This may have just convinced me to do it.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so beautiful and just so well done! I found you via Maison Decor and have become a new follower. I'm brand spanking new to the blogworld and am loving finding all these new ideas and inspiration. Pop over for a visit if you get time. http://thededicatedhouse.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteSimilarly, I hang Spanish Moss around the supports of my 10' White Bird of Paradise tree. It's a great look that adds to the tropical feel.
ReplyDeleteI like the dramatic, dark & divine kitchen. The way the chandelier mimics the backsplash in size, color & shape is thoughtful. I can imagine having evening cocktails there. Some uplights under those outdoor trees in the back, would add to the ambience too.
I love orchid too… Thanks for the great tip on wrapping the moss on the stem, I will do that next time I get orchid! As for these gorgeous pictures, It is hard to pick a favorite, they are all beautifully designed rooms! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip. I've got an orchid that was given to us recently....may have to go gussy it up :) Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think some of my favorites are the last 3 - they have a very interesting eclectic mix - and so funny, that headboard reminds me of your avatar!! Have a great weekend Tina!!
ReplyDeleteGOOD MORNING PRECIOUS! I am so very late, but I see so many fabulous rooms here that I could just spend all day here. I do love that green painted cabinetry in the kitchen and those bathrooms are outstanding. I CANNOT WAIT, as I am sure YOU TOO, to see YOUR home unfold before our eyes! WOW, I can't image what colors or décor you will choose. But those arches and traditional paneled walls indicates to me that something dreamy and majestic is coming down the pike!
ReplyDeleteLOVE TO YOU, Anita
Her bedrooms look so invitingly peaceful. Love that bath with the blue and bamboo wallpaper.
ReplyDeleteLove your little vignette! The orchid is beautiful! Love that designer! I do recognized some of their work and will have to stop by their site! Have a great Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know of this designer, but am hugely impressed. I love everything, and don't think i could pick a favorite!
ReplyDeleteStacy
Love your orchid! Thanks for the tip. It's hard to pick just one. I'd have to say that all these rooms are my favorite (lol). Have a fun time on your friend's boat. Enjoyed this post!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite posts of guest designers of your. The first bathroom and the walk-in closet are my favorites. I rarely see closets spotlighted. I love this one.
ReplyDeleteTina, Tina, Tina. You always find the most beautiful homes. Love , love this.
ReplyDeleteHope that all is well with you.

Love all the rooms especially the light blue bathroom and the kitchen right after it. Your orchid plant is so pretty and professional looking, I love your prints and chest too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous-My least favorite is the transitional kitchen...a little too modern and non-descript for me. One of the houses I visited in the past 3 or 4 years (when we were working on this one) had a kitchen with all the cabinets painted green. It was absolutely spectacular. I fell in love with it but couldn't quite bring myself to put brush to cabinet as we were using hickory.
ReplyDeleteThe designer is fantastic though.
My daughter, the one that has NO interest in plants, is growing orchids and they are beautiful. When I first saw them I thought they were fake because they were so perfect. Yours? BEAUTIFUL! xo Diana
Dee Dee has a great sense of style. We love the bathrooms and that dressing room, wow! Your orchids look great! Hope your weekend is going beautifully!
ReplyDeleteAngela and Renee
Hey Tina, these are fabulous images. I love the bathrooms the most, and that wallpaper on the aqua bathroom is stunning. The kitchens are amazing too. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI love the little arrangement you came up with - are you sure not a designer yourself?
