So have I won you over to love orange or were you already a fan? What do you think? Is it better left for Hermes boxes and Orange soda cans? I think its such a warm, fun and uplifting color that when used in the right space and the shade is just so, it can actually be quite beautiful.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
It's a difficult color. I can see why you like it, but personally it's not a favorite. I could easily picture it in a Tuscan house or similiar though...
ReplyDeleteIt definitely looks hot in the right space! You have me sold!
ReplyDeleteI'm now thinking that some pops of orange would be great in our pool area. The whole space is bland and white, I think it would work nicely!
Well, if I didn't like it before, I do now! Actually, I like it in pops at my own home, but love the examples above that show it as the focal point of the room. I think the key is in the mix (isn't that the case with everything?) and the shade of orange.
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me there might just be an orange room in your new home!
xo Elizabeth
Oh Enchanted One, you crushed it today. We have as bit of orange in nearly every room but we left it to pro. In Atlanta, it's the "Frosted Orange" at the Varsity.
ReplyDeleteI am really loving orange. I am about to redecorate using a palette of hermes orange, navy and white! Love your blog! Miss Walker xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo love a pop of orange, and I'm totally obsessed with the burnt orange drapes in the Charlotte Moss room...she can do no wrong!! Get that camera fixed - needing an update on your spectacular home!!
ReplyDeleteI love the room with the orange pillows on the sectional. Pops of orange are good with me, but I would never do an entire room in it. Too many other colors I like better. Or maybe it's that I'm fair-skinned and never liked the way orange looked on me :)
ReplyDeleteOh!! Beautiful the orange touches! Love the Thomas Pheasant room! My favorite!

I love a vibrant orange...I don't know if I could live with an orange room but they sure are pretty to admire. For myself, I prefer bursts of orange in moderation!
ReplyDeleteLove some orange as well...mostly in accents, I lack the nerve to do full on orange walls. You have highlighted so many of my favorite designers here today!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't live in a totally orange room as I prefer quite spaces but do like a small burst of orange, like in orange pillows or an orange accent. I actually have a beautiful orange cashmere blanket thrown over my living room sofa which looks great and a small painting in my powder room of a blue and white vase with a burst of orange flowers and its very eye popping. I think the key is in moderation, you have shown some incredible examples of how beautifully orange can be used in a home interior. Cheers-
ReplyDeleteThat John Barman room is one of my favourites. Orange isn't at the top of my favourites list but I do like a little hit of it- I have one orange velvet bergere and I adore it. Beautiful inspiration shots as always!
ReplyDeleteOrange is growing on me, quickly! Love a rusty orange. Question~ my kitchen is sort of like "Diamond Baratta painted this wood paneled dining room orange". Have glass/chrome table with black & chrome chairs. LOVE table, do you have source? My is just fine THAT one is SUPER fine:)So kit. is my first pick, 2nd "Always loved this space....the pops of orange just make it!" Like said ~easing into orange!
ReplyDeleteAs someone who is not at all fond of orange I am surprised how many rooms I found attractive, evidence of your tasteful selection. The Ashley Whittaker is particularly appealing, as are many others. Such a great group of styles you discovered!

Jennifer Flanders and Charlotte Moss designed my favorite rooms here, but they are all gorgeous. Oranges is such a beautiful color.

I love pops of orange. I use it in a calm grey green room with simple linen curtains, add orange silk shades, cushions and big tie back tassels. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI am LOVING orange now. How gorgeous is the Meghan Young dining room and the toile wallpaper in the Erica George Dines powder room?! Can't wait to see the pics of the house update.
ReplyDeleteSomething about orange just makes no apologies! It's fresh, young and looks so great with so many colors like you show here. My favorite was the Thomas Pheasant room with that great geek key lighting! Tina, you were my VERY FIRST comment on my blog EVER when I posted about orange a couple of months ago - you made me soooo happy! Just wanted you to know how much you made my day that day. :) Have a great day - beautiful post as always!
ReplyDeleteI love orange! It’s one of my favorite colors although I probably wouldn’t paint a whole room orange but orange accents are great. You always find the best images love all these rooms!
ReplyDeleteI love orange. It adds some flare to any room. I came across that orange nautical room with the beds hanging from the ceiling. Love it! I plan to use it in my orange feature comming up soon.
ReplyDeleteLove the Thomas Jayne and Turner Davis projects. The brigher the better when it comes to orange!
ReplyDeleteI love orange and find myself drawn to it when I look at design inspiration although I have yet to incorporate it into my own decor. I wear it a lot more than I decorate with it. It makes me look really tan :) I purchased an orange leather diaper bag so I could pretend it was Hermes. I love it and it adds just the right pop of color to all of my outfits!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteOrange is a sunny color and it's often overlooked because of public reaction to it. Just recovered a clients dining chairs in a burnt orange and with dark woods and terra cotta floor tiles it looks great. Love orange as an accent color it infuses life into a room. Love all the examples in celebration of orange.

Fabulous post along with fabulous images! I simply adore orange and depending on the space depends how I'd like to use the chic color. I have only pops of orange in our living room, but I took a once closet and converted it into a small bedroom with the room being painted orange....in the small space I love it used all over! In fashion, I love pops of it!
ReplyDeleteOrange is fastly becoming one of my favorite colors this season as well. I have even begun wearing it! Great room photo selections!!!
ReplyDeletei'll be honest, my first thought when i think of an orange room is UGH! but these pictures have me thinking different, especially the orange toile room, the dining room with orange wallpaper and those lime chairs, and the orange powder room in the second to last pic!
ReplyDeleteps-- my mom was visiting yesterday and i showed her some of my new blog friends/favorite blogs, and she was in awe of yours! we both just love it!
I love that first post! Absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI considered that bright orange Manuel Canovas toile wallpaper for my powder room. It is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAll the photos show great use of orange...beautiful! I haven't gotten brave enough to use it beyond the kitchen. :)
ReplyDeleteAs a part of my kitchen/dining/laundry/bath remodel last year, I decided to go with a pumpkin orange laundry room. My cabinets are all a crisp white which calms the color somewhat. I have always had the image of that great orangey entrance in the London townhouse in the movie "ParentTrap" (not the original but the remake.) Orange has never exactly been my favorite color, but I wanted something cheerful and different. I don't like the ones above that have too many things competing for attention...especially that turquoise with the orange - that just screams at me. Bright colors need something neutral and soothing to balance them out for me or I am afraid I would not want to spend too much time in the room.
ReplyDeleteLove the toile and the beadboard...adore the turquoise and orange combination. If I were to use orange,I'd probably choose the softer, melon tones. I admire those who use it daringly. Looking forward to your house update!
ReplyDeleteAnn-Marie
The kid's room with the pop of orange is my favorite. I am now appreciating orange in a new way! Can't wait to see the house update.
ReplyDeleteWell, I can see the beauty in tthis colors, and it à very popularitet color for you Home at the moment to..But not at My place..ghansk for sharing inspiration
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! Yes! You and I both....love orange, especially combined with blues such as navy or turquoise (my post was actually on that today). Great collection of pictures....you just got me all excited about orange :-)
ReplyDeleteDoes orange sherbet count? That's about as close as I get to orange. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the orange chinoiserie, really like the doorway trim that is painted with two different colors picking up both colors in the chinoiserie. The James Lumsden foyer is fabulous! So elegant with the table and mural.
ReplyDeleteBoy...when you say you are going to give us some orange...you do not disappoint that is for sure!
ReplyDeleteI love orange too. In fact my livingroom is a burnt orange, maple glaze by behr paint. Love it. It is a hard color to work with but it's so cozy and looks great with all the large windows i have in the room.
ReplyDeleteWow, who would have thought that orange can be this wonderful. I love everything that you have done using the color. I really like the orange cushions kept on plane white sofa. I am also going to retouch my place with a bit of orange now! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAmazing use of orange color. well done! You have given everyone some really good ideas.
