I am not a high hats fan though appreciate their function and lighting capabilities. I love low lights...sconces, lamps, lanterns,etc.....makes a room glow. Love to know what you think! Have a great day.
Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI think the only problem with pendants is that they are kind of inflexible. They are great over furniture that wont be moved, put putting one over the kitchen table means that the table will have stay centered there or it will look weird.
Beautiful examples of pendants.
ReplyDeleteI have them over my center island and in my bathroom, they both look great and give a soft lighting to the room which I love. I love the idea of adding shades...great concept, I may have to give that a try for my kitchen.
Beautiful pics as always!
I recently found your blog, your posts are wonderful, and looking forward to seeing more of your house! Janell
ReplyDeleteI can't possibly pick...I love them all! xx
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful! Think it is great to use over pieces that are fixed...so many options to choose from!
ReplyDeleteI adore a good pendant, and have found myself using them more and more. I live in the town Mark Maresca is based out of, so have easy access to several WONDERFUL houses he has done, and was lucky enough to tour a home he had orchestrated an amazing renovation on a few years back...he is a genius.
ReplyDeleteLighting fixtures are one of my favorite elements of a room! I adore all styles of pendant lighting...great examples of perfect choices for each room!
ReplyDeleteI love them and definitely plan to incorporate the into the dream house. I really loved the ones by Kohler that you posted here in the kitchen...beautiful! I already have one in storage for over our (future) kitchen table - a drum shade pendant lamp. Beautiful post so full of great ideas, as usual!

Gee so many choices that you have your work cut out for you. Just remember that in a kitchen they have to not only be decorative and functional but easy to clean. Not matter how good an exhaust system you install, thee is going to be some residue that floats around your kitchen.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...so many gorgeous examples! I adore pendant lights and loved how you showed such a great variety. My favourites are the crystal ceiling drops in the bathroom and the gold ones over the dining table with the chartreuse/yellow chairs. Fabulous post!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pendants, I love them all.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful examples of pendants!! Can't wait to follow along as you build your home -- you are right; with the sheetrock done, the fun is just beginning!!
ReplyDeleteLove those hexagon lights in that ginormous kitchen in the second image and the four black pendants in another kitchen. But I think my favorite would have to be the lights that Amy Morris used, love lantern style lights! Love them in my kitchen but the whole problem is I keep finding lights I like better, it’s a bear changing the lights out all the time!
ReplyDeleteI loved the pendants in the shabby chic bathroom! I love them all but would only want them permanently in a bathroom or kitchen island or counter...
ReplyDeleteAdore low lighting throughout the home. We have a bit of a lighting obsession....so love all photos in this collection. Love using lanterns. Fabulous post!

What a great selection of pendants. We've been in our home about 7 years now and I'm getting pretty tired of the builder basic fixtures. I'd love a couple of these beauties in my home.

I love lighting and really love those oversized square ones! They remind me of some of my favorites from Urban Electric. I want to incorporate lighting into our remodel as we have way too much can lighting in our home. Alas, with the low ceilings from the 1920s I have to make careful selections.
ReplyDeleteAll fabulous! I particularly the Amy Morris lanterns. But so much inspiration as always!!

Love the oversize lantern. Can you please confirm that it is by Kohler as I can find nothing on line other than bathroom fixtures by Kohler. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog while looking for porch furniture ideas, and I have to say, that pendant really looks amazing on those porches! And with the couches, tables and lamps, it does give off a classic classy feel. Really, really love it!

Those penchants on the high-ceilinged room looks amazing! I would love to see them in action at night, when they’re the only light source besides the fire place. It also helps that the entire area kind of converts to a sunroom when you open the windows to let the breeze in.
