Hi there and happy new week to you. Hope you had a fabulous weekend. Here the sun and beautiful weather finally decided to pay us a visit so it was wonderful...we had such a nice time at the party on Saturday (and yes my white pants and strappy sandals worked out great)! The home and setting so magnificent that as a blogger who wants to share the beauty, it was ridiculously tempting to not whip out my iPhone and not start snapping away but it was more of a dinner party (for 20) as opposed to a party and it didn't feel right but I would so loved to have shared....the outdoor areas alone were jaw dropping! Sunday was our relaxing day and much needed. Hope whatever you did was fun and just want you wanted.
As I did with my Leta Austin Foster post, I am doing an encore performance for another designer whose work I greatly admire, John Jacob Interiors. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, this man is unbelievably talented! I had posted on him almost two years ago and since then he has added some truly spectacular rooms to his arsenal of great work. I, at first glance knew I had to share it with those of you not familiar with this uber talented designer.
I love his aesthetic and his flawless sense of proportion, color and of course his liberal use of black which gives an elegant drama to every room he touches. I was excited to see he also has a blog!
I will let the pictures do the talking.......enjoy! Warning...some of these pictures could literally cause heart palpitations so pace yourself!!

Are you dying from the beauty? I love how he uses lots of black, neutral putty/greige like colors and of course see he has added my beloved blue and white to his rooms. I am just floored by the beauty, the layering effect he applies and his genius way of accessorizing. John Jacob...your rock! Have a favorite room here? ReplyDeleteGood morning, yes as a matter of fact I am dying from the beauty. Just incredible. The details in each room have my mouth agape. Amazing to have that kind of talent. I could never narrow it down to a favorite room because they are all so beautiful but a few favorites are the last three (looks like they are in an attic and so cozy) and of course that wonderful blue and white bath.

ReplyDeleteYou and us are going to get some sunshine starting today! We too had tons of rain, but I can't complain because our lawns and gardens in The Twin Cities are TDF green!
These rooms are also stunners, and that black and white floor photo is breathtaking, along with all the blue accents that we both love!
I thought of you yesterday as my husband and I found yet another gorgeous new store featuring so many of the interiors you love and I love as well. What a treat it was to peruse and dream and then come home with some new GRAY VELVET drapes to put in my foyer!

Oh, about the hockey thing... I was the same way.. never into it... actually, I was NEVER, ever interested in watching games or anything to do with that, but this is the kids' passion (they collect hockey cards, etc) and I had to learn more about. It is being so fun to follow this season and see how excited the kids can get over a game! It makes me happy to see them so happy when their team scores! :-)

OMW, I don't know where to start on how much I loved. The black and white tiles along with the black and white rooms are amazing. I loved the way he put wood on the walls too. Then, in the first photo who would have thought putting drapes on one window and blinds on the other would look so awesome?! At least I wouldn't have.

Morning Tina, I am so glad to see this post. I like his style, although it is taking me time to get back to embracing wallpaper. These photos confirmed for me that I am going to really think about doing my bathroom with the black cabinets and of course blue and white. I will hopefully be building again back home in NC in the near future and these photos really confirmed the direction I was leaning. So enjoyable.......
