Which would you choose?

Hi there, so happy its the weekend. I have had an insanely busy week between various commitments, things going on in my own home, it was non stop.  Really happy its over. I need sleep, a glass of wine, relaxation and maybe some retail therapy! And of course its the big granddaddy of them all for all the sports fans.....the Superbowl! We are headed to a good friends house who has us over every year (except for last where we had them here since we had just moved and it felt just wrong to not be home). For me, if I am to be honest its all about the food, its kind of like being given the license to eat and enjoy whatever strikes my fancy on that one special day.  Though I am not a huge football fan,  this years story of two opposing teams that happen to each have coaches as  brothers does make a great story. How about you? Anything special on your agenda?

This is a fun post, and not a lot of thinking is required just in case you are feeling like me and utterly exhausted from a long week. There is no typical scenario like I normally dream up, this is more about first instincts. When you look at these various spaces, different rooms of a home, which most says "you"? Which room can you totally see yourself being at home in? The beauty of interior design is how subjective it is and how many different but equally wonderful styles there are. There is no "right" or "wrong" when it comes to personal spaces, just a matter of what feels good to you.

Try to go with your gut instinct and what grabs you at first bite sight. Sometimes over thinking  things misleads us. For me it came down to two but when I allowed myself to react impulsively I immediately gravitated towards one, it just feels like 'me"..it was a no brainier. So how about you? I look forward to hearing what's your fave.....

Whoa! I think no matter what your style may be....these are all spectacular in their own right. In the end beautiful design comes down to what makes you happy and comfortable. It is so important to love where you live and not feel like you live in a museum or trophy room but rather a home  and I do mean every single room should be a place where  you can put your feet up and get comfy! So.....which is it for you? Tell me what about the room that speaks to you...I always love to know how the thought process works.  This is going to be so interesting! Enjoy your day.....

  2. I would love to be in Room #13 right now.

  3. Choice 14 thought there are several I love. I could see whipping up a big old fashioned country breakfast for my family, that kitchen is made for cooking for those you love.

Enjoy the Superbowl party, we are having 20 friends and family over, starting my famous chili today!

  8. Thirteen and Fourteen......but #9 looks interesting...

  9. I like 4 and 5, they both remind me of an elegant country house and the older I get the more that sounds appealing. They both look so comfortable. Each of these though are just beautiful. Fun~

  10. My gut reaction to #1 was immediate! It's elegant, and maybe a tad nostalgic...

  12. Either #5 or #14, b-u-t, there were others that could easily draw me in. :)

I am a "new" reader as I only recently "found" your blog. Lots of nice things to come back to read.

  13. I love # 13...warm & cozy...so inviting !

  14. I love 2 because it feels really crisp and pretty. I love the color and pattern combination. On a different note 6 is so elegant, it would make work a pleasure. This was fun. Hope you have a great time at the Superbowl get together...GO RAVENS!

  17. My gut said 7. I love the navy and white, the clean lines, the ceiling moldings and the windows. Love some things about many of the the other rooms, but I'd love to curl up on the couch with the sun streaming in......

  20. Very hard to choose Tina, as all beautiful rooms. If pushed to make a decision, it is probably no.10 for me - adore the natural stone walls and floors - airy, light and calm. Enjoy the Superbowl.......!

  21. I love #5 and #9. Have a wonderful weekend,

  22. I'll go with 10, 12, and I really like 14 :) the table got me! I have a long table in my kitchen.. love to have everyone at one table if possible.

We are supposed to go to a party tomorrow but now we have a friend coming over so I'm not sure what we will do. My daughter cheers for the Seattle Seahawks so we are a little disappointed that we aren't playing given the fact that we beat the 49er's by a fairly large margine:) {we will be cheering for them tomorrow!}.

    Have a great weekend Tina!

  23. I know this isn't the popular one, but 8 just looks so great.I love how you want to just run and jump on the bed and curl up with a great book. I also like the low lighting and neutral decor. I guess because we are in the middle of our own bedroom redo, it has special appeal. ALL of these are just beautiful. Have fun watching the Superbowl. We are having two families over so busy today figuring out what to make!

  24. I'd have to say No. 10 - love the stone walls with the softness of skirted chairs - would love to sit with a friend and have tea or just read a book. I have to say there were no bad choices and I could have had moments in all of them.

  25. Hard to choose between Choice 4 the Arkansas Home and Choice 10 the Pamela Pierce Living Room....but since the kitchen is my fave in my own home...I will have to go with Choice 4!

    Have a great weekend!

  26. Loving 7 &8! No surprise there!!In fact #7 is on my blog post today as one of my all-time favorite rooms. Love the clean lines, trimmed upholstery pieces and lampshade, colors and layout of the room. #8 is just peaceful, uncluttered, understated elegance, all of which I love, the only thing that would make it even better is if it were done in soft blues and creams.
    Always fun choosing our favorites!!
    Happy Weekend,
    Kathysue

  27. I would pick #10 for the sunroom (love the stone walls and floors and the light from the doors) and #16 for the dreamiest, most elegant bedroom ever.

  31. Absolutely #2, I did as you suggested and went with my intuitive/instinctive reaction. Clean, crisp, contemporary, everything I love in one spot.

    Have a splendid weekend Tina!

  32. Hi Tina, Choice #1 really calls to me for my love of Chinoiserie, but here's what I would do: #1 would be my library, #4 my kitchen, #9 my family room, and #16 my bedroom! Therefore, I conclude that my style is eclectic! Lisa L.

  33. All beautiful spaces, but I really love #16, so peaceful and relaxing!

  34. I like #8. The rest are a bit too cluttered for me.

  38. Ten years ago, 1 & 16. Now that my kids are in college, 2 & 8
I want calm clean lines, uncluttered. I keep telling myself, once the children have their own
Places they can have most of what I own and I will buy new! Valerie

  39. Tina.... all of them are beautiful but...its #ten.....love Pam's work.

  40. #4 and #10 speak to e. I am not at ALL modern. Love the coziness of the 2 rooms. XO, Pinky

  42. #1...definitely!!! #1.... I gotta do this, must have, it's ME written all over it!
    Thanks so much for sharing.

  43. I must pick two. Number 3 feels like a perfect beach house room and we just used the last bedroom #16 from James Michael Howard in a post this week and I LOVE it!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. 15 and 1 in that order. The colors and elegant feeling rooms that feel old but welcoming are so "me". Thought each one is so beautiful. Great selection of beautiful spaces.

  45. Your posts are always so much fun~~~ Choice number one is absolutely my first choice. I love choice number four as well but mostly because it reminds me of a dear friend of mine that is her style of decorating. What is most like my home though is more number 13 with a touch of one here and there.

  48. #5 & #14 for me. I ♥ the dark, warm & welcoming environments - woody, solid, strong.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I like # 1 and 6, but with six cats, a dog and a small child joining our household soon it is difficult enough to make our house look nice every day, so #1 is my pick!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I love #9.......cozy with books.

    ReplyDelete
  51. My favorite sitting room is #10, then I would retire to #16. ♥♥♥ them !

    ReplyDelete
  52. Well that felt like being a child and told I could only have one piece of candy in a store full of goodies! I really think I have an eclectic design style but if I had to pick just one, choice 10, please.
    That was really fun! melinda

  54. 5 and 6--today, at this moment, that's what draws my attention.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Wow..I guess 4 is my fav followed by 14 and 12.

    ReplyDelete
  56. It's pretty close between 7 and 8, but if I have to pick one, you know I'll go blue and white every time!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I went for #7 which really surprises me as I normally steer away from a blue palette as I find it has a 'cold' feel but I LOVED this look!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hands down, Dan Carithers' room, number 15, Tina!

A neutral English room with antiquities and great books,
updated lighting, soft fabrics and handsome furnishings.

That is where I would want to sit and relax!

    Beautiful.

  59. I posted the #13 a couple of weeks ago on my blog because I feel in love with that living room. The architecture and the decor comes together in a very deep harmony. I love every single detail of it. So, that's my choice. :-)

Wishing a blessed week, my friend.
