35 amazing ways to rock a Christmas present!!!!!!

Good morning....well its clear that we are officially in the serious season of gift wrap overload. I mean this is when you need to get those fingers at their peak performance, making sure they are ready to do some serious overtime. No rest for the weary, survival of the fittest. All ten count. I must admit, it can take me awhile to warm up to the idea that the holiday frenzy is here, but once I commit to it, I jump right in and go full throttle and when I get into my gift wrap, I really get into  my gift wrap.
Normally I will start by conventionally wrapping a gift with pretty paper, some kind of ribbon,  a name tag, insert it under tree and repeat. Then as the creative gift wrapping juices get flowing I stare with new found creativity under the tree and promptly remove all the gifts, furiously attaching all sorts of ribbons, adornments, pine cones, glittery objects,  mini ornaments, candy canes, you name it to said packages, and voila new and enhanced gifts are then replaced under the tree and suddenly its really starting to look a lot like Christmas!! So today is all about beautiful ways to wrap up those presents we all no doubt have. Some creative ways to get the job done. Have some interesting creative tips you want to share? Please do!

Ahhhh...damask paper, silver silky ribbon, and sprayed silver adorments....perfection! C.Roehm

When in doubt....go all out, on color that is! How about neon pink and green, that is bound to wake everyone up Christmas morning! Fourteen feet ceilings

Sometimes, even household staples can be used for pretty wrapping, like a newspaper cut into a flower or craft paper or a comic book page or tying with simple twine, Ellinee

  1. What a great roundup!! I love beautifully wrapped gifts, but my favorite are those that are wrapped in brown paper. So rustic. Adding the names with the adhesive letters is such a cute idea!

  6. So much wrapping inspiration. I love it!! I like the idea of having a theme too because it just looks so pretty under the tree. I like to place small gifts wrapped beautifully around the house too. On the buffet, foyer table, etc. xo

  7. Tina, that last picture with the velvet ribbon is so elegant, but I really loved the idea of adding pictures to a gift. Never thought of that but how clever! This is a fantastic post, and one I will come back to for some ideas as I begin the labor intensive job of wrapping gifts, many many gifts.
Hope you find the time to do the same. Thanks for putting this beautiful post together.

  12. Love the beautiful wrappings ... they bring back a memory of a Christmas present long ago ... my two "spinster" aunts gave me some beautiful lingerie (I was in my early twenties!) and they wrapped the present in a square box with a little "clothes line" all the way around with cutouts of lingerie items on the line with tiny clothes pins! It was so cute and I will always remember how beautiful it was! It does make gift giving so much more special. I try my hardest not to put anything in a bag with tissue!!

  16. Sooo gorgeous! A neighbour of ours invited us to dinner late november and decided to decorate the house for Christmas for the occasion. She put a lot of "mock" wrapped presents under the tree while waiting to have the real ones ready. That's what I would use these beautiful wrappings for, they're too pretty to rip apart in a few minutes Christmas morning!

  21. Tina, you are inspiring me! I try every year to get ahead of the wrapping game, but so often it turns out to be the very last thing I do, and I'm slapping on tape and tying ribbons as fast as I can go - I always add a glass of champagne to the process and call it "festive" instead of stressful. Maybe this is the year I can break out of the last-minute habit!

  22. Great ideas. I just purchased red velvet damask paper and will use it to wrap "faux" gifts only for under the tree. It's too beautiful to be torn to shreds. Love the Heather Bullard packages and LOVE C. Roehm and have all of her books! she is the epitome of class & style! Have to go & get wrapping...

  28. Tina, love them all. I think you and I are alike in our methods. I do the same thing. I am constantly rearranging my packages until the right papers are coordinated next to their partner and they have on their proper ribbons and embellishments. I love to wrap gifts. I think the presentation is part of the gift!! Merry Christmas,

  29. Oh my goodness what a feast for the eyes! They are all so beautiful. However, the Bella Life wraps and the brooches on kraft paper from Heather Bullard are so up my alley. LOVE them.

I always choose a color scheme. This year Santa is using all white paper and My hubby and I are using an apple green with a gold tinge. White and green ribbons and silvery pinecones we painted and glittered as a family last weekend (I will post those photos soon).

  34. The only thing I love more than buying gifts is wrapping gifts. I keep a stash of ornaments, vintage millinery flowers, costume jewelry, vintage buttons, wired ribbons in velvet and satin and beautiful oversized tags to adorn my presents. Carolyne Roehm is a great source of inspiration. I love the examples you have shown here. Take a look at her book, "Presentations" for examples of more fabulosity.

  35. Okay missy, I didn't see one stick-on bow from Target! ;) I have to say I am smitten with the simple jingle bells and I love the initial wrap. How pretty for a wedding too. All lovely eye candy but now it's got me wishing for a little help from Santa's elves. I had forgotten about wrapping so far! Oops! :)

  36. Hands down - my favorite gift tha I wrapped this year is for my son-in-law. He is a huge Texans fan and I bought him a Texans jacket. Their colors are red-white-blue so I wrapped the box in red paper, tied it with dark blue curly ribbon.. lots of it and attached an adorable nutcracker ornament to the top. The nutcracker is appropriately dressed in a Texans jersey!

Other gifts are 'prettier' but they don't make me smile as big!

  37. Tina,

Tis the season of giving and great array of snaps on how to do that. I have used my brown Trader Joe's bags for years. Cut them open and design the best way to use this great paper. Even taking advantage of the handles on some gifts. Then using rubber stamps and ink colors such as red, green, black, and metallics in gold, silver, plum, blue etc. to add some sparkle and fun. Of course ribbons, and all the other goodies to delight the eye.

Another great way to use paper is designer showroom memo/sample bags you get you can use them as a gift bag or cut open and use as stunning wrapping paper.

    Now that's a wrap!

  40. Tina,
Every single one is wrapped perfectly...while very different, each are so beautiful in their own way...who wouldn't want to receive a well dressed gift? I must admit went toward the very simple wrapping this year, but always love to see what other people come up with...and this is an amazing collection of images.

  42. All fabulous ideas! Last year I took plain craft paper and wrapped all my gifts and then took old fashion black and white copies of Christmas scenes and glued them to the front of the packages. They were so pretty and people had fun with them. Im done wwrapping for this year thankfully now if we could just get a tree up.

  51. Wonderful post and perfect timing! I have yet to wrap a present!! Eek! I love the white presents with colorful ties and the velvet ribbon in the last image is divine! I may try to use some leftover blue & white damask wallpaper we used in our living room. We'll see if it wraps decently. My sister sent me a picture of gift she wrapped in paper covered with kittens in Santa hats. She's pretty sure my mom will not like them under the tree but I think they're hilarious!

The paper I use is always cute but not expensive and I never go out and buy paper during the sales after Christmas. My Aunt Terry does an amazing job wrapping gifts! You can check them out by searching Aunt terry's home on my blog. She does an incredible job!

  60. Paint stores have brown paper that is thinner than craft paper. It's easier to wrap and get crisp corners with than craft paper. Cheaper too as a bonus !

  61. A little trick my Mom used to do, was at the end of Christmas, she'd bundle up all of the beautiful Christmas cards that friends & family sent and put them in with the decorations. Then, next year when it's time to wrap presents, she'd cut up the beautiful/cute cards to make them into one of a kind gift tags.
